“Michelle was amazing taking care of our 2 digs and 2!cats, day and night for 7 days. She is a natural with animals and a lovely person that we trusted with our home as well as pets. Thank you Michelle!”

“Thanks for everything you’ve done for us and Arlo IFE! It was our first time leaving our dog alone with someone and you made sure we felt at ease about the entire process. We look forward to working you again in the future :)”

Need to suddenly visit family? Or do you just need a break or a date night? I have got you covered! You don't need to stress about your dog(s) on top of everything else life is throwing at you! You can provide me with as detailed instructions as you would like. Details and following instructions are my forte and I promise your dog(s) will be looked after exactly as you please! And if I have any questions about anything I will always follow-up before your booking to confirm details.
“This was my second time asking Bozhena to take care of my dog and she once again delivered excellent, worry-free care, even going as far as noting that my dog was restless overnight and taking him outside at 2:30am just in case his tummy was upset. My house is always spotless when I come home too. I highly recommend Bozhena!!”
About: Since a young age, I have been exposed to dogs as my mother was a vet technician (now retired) in the Durham Region community. Since then, I have developed a love for dogs and I am always looking for an opportunity to spend time with dogs. From 2006 to present, I have been lucky enough to look after four dogs of my own that were really truly a member of the family and enjoyed looking after them. As a dog sitter, I am available to dog sit for those exciting vacations that you hope to take or simply walk your dog during those busy days at home or at work! For my availability, contact me for more information! I look forward to hearing from you soon! I am currently working part time in the retail industry while in university full time, so my schedule may be different from time to time. My availability can be discussed to fit your pet’s needs! At my client’s home, I will always be there for your pet! When we aren’t taking a walk outside, I like to sit and relax with your pet with a book or watching television. If your pet wants to go outside, we will do that, play fetch or just spend time outside and enjoy the weather!
“Aarthi was a fantastic help to us house and pet sitting our elder dog and energetic cat while we were on vacation. It was important to us that our pets could stay in an environment they’re use to, especially our 14 yr old dog who is starting to slow down. Aarthi was flexible to meet ahead of time, see the house and understand their routines. She has a warm and friendly personality, and her affection for animals was evident from the moment we met her. She kept us informed as to how they were doing and sent a few pics too. We will definitely have her back!”

“I booked Song for a day to watch Hunter in my house while I attended an all day conference. Song took fantastic care of Hunter and was very communicative with me during the day. I would certainly book her again in the future and highly recommend!”

“Great experience with Mark. Contacted him last minute and he was easily able to accommodate and adapt. Our little Pomeranian is timid with strangers and he really helped her warm up to him. I would 100% recommend. Will be contacting him again soon!”

“Hannah was a great dog sitter. Very responsive to messages, easy to coordinate with and our dogs loved her. We are grateful and appreciative to be able to confidently leave our dogs with here.”

“We highly recommend Cassie. She took such great care of our boys in our home while we were away. They really loved her presence and it showed through all the cuddles they gave her and that truly meant everything to us. We'll definitely be reaching out for future services. Thank you Cassie!”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 12 years old. I’ve always been the person my family and friends ask to help watch their dog or to just stop by to let them out and feed them. I’m also capable of following a routine if needed and or making my own planned out routine for the dog. Currently I work part time at petsmart as a dog trainer where I teach classes for all breed and ages of dogs, I’m an accredited trainer and I plan to be certified in the future. I have experience with puppies all ages and I am comfortable with giving medication to old dogs if needed. Currently I work part time at petsmart so I have lost of free time during the week to watch, walk or let out your dog if needed. I am available also for routine visits for the same pet. For all of my pets I have kept or taken care of, I have always followed a routine that I am either given or I create on my own to I make sure nothing gets left behind or forgotten. My goal is to ensure i reach your dog’s daily needs for the time that I’m there with them.
About: I have taken care of dogs of every kind for 5+ years. From dog sitting to dog walking and more. Friends, family, and neighbours have relied on me to make sure their pups are safe and comfortable! I am currently a student and work part-time. I will have plenty of time to play with your pups during the day and at night. Between classes and jobs, I will make sure they’re fed, played with, and have gone to the bathroom. I will care for your pets in your home based off the instructions given to me. I will make sure everything is followed so your pups routine is the same and your pup is well taken cared of.
“Stephanie was wonderful with our girls and kept us informed on how they were doing while we were away. The house was spotless when we got home. It was like she wasn't even here. We will definitely be using her againa”

About: I was raised on a farm with numerous animals. I have always had a dog or cat in my life to care for full time. I'm an empty nester & currently working full time. This interests me to fill my time. I'm available 1st thing in the morning or after work. I have a 13 year old large breed dog that enjoys my fenced-in back yard. Each day she gets fresh water in multiple locations, breakfast (including treats) & dinner with supplements. I also have a domestic short haired cat that stays indoors. They get along really great.
“Randy was great looking after our two cats. He stayed in our condo and left the place spotless. We were updated with pictures so we knew our littles ones we’re happy and being looked after. I would recommend Randy 100%!”

“Olivia was spectacular… highly recommend! She stayed in our home with our two dogs for 1.5 weeks while we were away. It went smoother than we could’ve imagined, and it allowed us to really enjoy our trip. The bond that she created with them is strong because of her gentle, nurturing and caring soul. She sent update pictures and videos throughout - and we could tell our dogs were beyond comfortable and satisfied. She seamlessly integrated into their schedule as if she has known them (and us) for a long time. She’s truly a natural with dogs. Olivia is highly responsible, reliable, and very kind. We look forward to booking with her every time!”

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Uxbridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Uxbridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Uxbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 90% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
