We can’t thank Solana enough for the incredible job she did looking after both Petunia and our home while we were away. Leaving everything behind for an extended trip can be stressful, but from the moment we met Solana, we knew we had made the right choice. She treated Petunia with so much love, patience, and care. The updates and photos she sent while we were away meant so much to us and made it easy to relax, knowing Petunia was happy, comfortable, and being treated like one of her own. When we returned home, our house was spotless and exactly as we had left it. It was clear that Solana had taken exceptional care of both our home and our beloved pup. Solana is kind, trustworthy, reliable, and genuinely passionate about what she does. We couldn’t have asked for a better person to care for Petunia, and we would recommend her without hesitation to anyone looking for a dog and house sitter. Thank you, Solana, for giving us complete peace of mind while we were away. We will absolutely be reaching out to you again in the future!

Bozhena took great care of our Weimaraner (and our home) while we were away for a week! We appreciated the daily updates and photos - it made us feel so much less anxious. She kept to our dog’s routine, tired her out with long walks and provided so much love. Bozhena loved our pooch as if she were her own. We’re so glad we’ve finally found someone we can trust.

We hired Shenley to watch our fur babies while we were away getting married. It was so nice to not have to worry about them and just be able to focus on our day knowing that they were in great hands. We did a meet and greet with Shenley a couple weeks before her stay and her passion for animals was very apparent. She instantly clicked with our babies, giving them their own space and time to familiarize themselves with her. She read our pet guide and was ready to handle their uniqueness. She shared photos with us and answered our texts quickly too. We never for a second felt uneasy during our time away because we knew they were being loved and cared for. That meant the world to us during such a busy and special time. We all hope to see more of Shenley soon 😊

Becky did a good job with my cat. She showed her lots of love and affection and played with her daily. She communicated every day with updates, pics and video calls. She showed up on time and was flexible and patient with some unforseen travel disruptions. I felt comfortable having her in my home and would have her back. Thanks Becky!

Highly recommend Andrea! We left our 14 year old Cockapoo for a week to attend a family wedding in Portugal. As this was the first time we had ever left her with a non-family member, we were apprehensive. We had three practice sessions before the week away. I felt confident leaving our dog in her care, in our home. While we were away Andrea sent us pictures and let us know how everything was going. She is very honest and seems to understand what a dog needs. If we have another opportunity to go away I will definitely call Andrea.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 12 years old. I’ve always been the person my family and friends ask to help watch their dog or to just stop by to let them out and feed them. I’m also capable of following a routine if needed and or making my own planned out routine for the dog. Currently I work part time at petsmart as a dog trainer where I teach classes for all breed and ages of dogs, I’m an accredited trainer and I plan to be certified in the future. I have experience with puppies all ages and I am comfortable with giving medication to old dogs if needed. Currently I work part time at petsmart so I have lost of free time during the week to watch, walk or let out your dog if needed. I am available also for routine visits for the same pet. For all of my pets I have kept or taken care of, I have always followed a routine that I am either given or I create on my own to I make sure nothing gets left behind or forgotten. My goal is to ensure i reach your dog’s daily needs for the time that I’m there with them.

About: Since a young age, I have been exposed to dogs as my mother was a vet technician (now retired) in the Durham Region community. Since then, I have developed a love for dogs and I am always looking for an opportunity to spend time with dogs. From 2006 to present, I have been lucky enough to look after four dogs of my own that were really truly a member of the family and enjoyed looking after them. As a dog sitter, I am available to dog sit for those exciting vacations that you hope to take or simply walk your dog during those busy days at home or at work! For my availability, contact me for more information! I look forward to hearing from you soon! I am currently working part time in the retail industry while in university full time, so my schedule may be different from time to time. My availability can be discussed to fit your pet’s needs! At my client’s home, I will always be there for your pet! When we aren’t taking a walk outside, I like to sit and relax with your pet with a book or watching television. If your pet wants to go outside, we will do that, play fetch or just spend time outside and enjoy the weather!

About: What sets me apart is the genuine care and attention I give to every dog. As a Golden Retriever owner myself, I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet, and I treat every dog like my own. I’m patient, calm, and attentive, which helps dogs feel comfortable and safe around me—especially those who may be shy or need a little extra time to warm up. I focus on creating a positive experience for each dog, whether that means energetic walks for active dogs or slower, gentle walks for senior dogs. I also make sure to follow the owner’s routine closely so pets feel secure and stress-free. I provide regular photo and video updates so you always know how your dog is doing, and I’m very reliable when it comes to timing and communication. My goal is not just to walk or care for your dog, but to make sure they feel happy, loved, and well cared for while you’re away. Pet care is something I truly enjoy and have built into my weekly routine. While I work full-time during the weekdays, I dedicate my weekends to dog walking and pet care, ensuring I have the time and energy to give each pet proper attention. On weekends, I plan my schedule carefully so I can provide reliable and consistent care, whether it’s walks, drop-in visits, or spending quality time with the dogs. As a dog owner myself, caring for my Golden Retriever Cherry is already a part of my daily life, so pet care naturally fits into my routine. I’m used to managing feeding schedules, walks, and playtime, and I bring that same level of care and responsibility to every pet I look after. I make sure to only take on bookings that I can fully commit to, so every pet gets the attention, care, and time they deserve. I provide attentive and safe care tailored to each pet’s needs. At the client’s home: I follow the owner’s instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, exercise routines, playtime, and any medications. I make sure pets feel comfortable in their own space and send regular photo or video updates so owners know their pets are happy and safe. At my home (if offering house sitting or drop-in care): I create a calm, friendly environment with plenty of space for play, rest, and exploration. I supervise pets closely, provide affection and mental stimulation, and maintain their usual routines as much as possible so they feel secure and loved. My priority is always the well-being, comfort, and happiness of every pet in my care.

About: I’ve had animals in my life for as long as I can remember and have experience caring for all kinds of pets. I have my own dog, whom I’ve trained and care for every day, giving me hands-on experience with training, exercise, feeding, and providing lots of love and attention. I’m patient and responsible, and I'll treat every pet like my own. I’m currently in Teachers College, so my schedule is flexible and allows me to fit pet care into my daily routine. I love staying active and working out, so I’d be happy to include walks, playtime, and plenty of exercise with your pet while also giving them lots of attention and care. Some things to note about my schedule: As mentioned, I am currently in teachers college. I’m in a placement from September 21–October 26, Monday–Friday from 9:00–3:30, but I do have an hour lunch break each day, so I may be able to work something out depending on what time you’re looking for. I’ll also be away for school November 14–December 18 to which I won’t be available. Then I’ll have another placement January–February. Outside of those times, I have more flexibility. I’ll provide care in my clients’ homes, following each pet’s usual routine and making sure they feel comfortable and cared for. I’ll keep up with feeding, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions, while giving them lots of attention and making sure their home is kept clean and secure.

About: People often say I grew up in a zoo because we had so many pets. Dogs, cats, ferrets, bunnies, hermit crabs...you name it. Unfortunately due to my often unpredictable work schedule I no longer have time to properly maintain a small zoo but I still crave pet playtime time and would love to care for yours when I can. Our home is small but we make up for it with our sizeable yard and live near farmland which makes for good long walks. We have an adorable senior cat named Oscar, who is very affectionate and playful. He is not thrilled about having other pets in the house but he’ll have to share lol. I can’t wait to meet some of your wonderful furbabies! I am currently experiencing a bit of a lull at work and as such have plenty of time on my hands which I am looking to fill with activities that will get me out of the house and keep me active. I have a large outdoor yard and our home is surrounded by farmland which makes for some good long walks. Pets under my care are welcome to roam freely unless crating requested (crates must be provided by client). Mealtimes, walks, and potty breaks provided in accordance with client's request and/or my availability.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Uxbridge on Rover is $55.5 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 1,614 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Uxbridge. Enter your postal code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Uxbridge maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Uxbridge walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Uxbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.

If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.

If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

  • 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
