About: With over 30 years of animal care experience, 13 years working as a vet tech and 4 years experience as a reiki master- I have a wealth of knowledge of many animals. The veterinary hospital I worked at was a very busy clinic and I was also the manager of a wildlife rehab. This experience has given me a strong ability to handle all situations. It’s also given me a wealth of knowledge with animals, both medically and behavioural. I have always been highly intuitive with animals and have rescued, fostered and assisted many, many animals over the span of my life. I have experience from bottle feeding newborns, to caring for our elderly companions and all in between. Your dear companion will always be in the very best care with me, as the well being of animals is an absolute passion and purpose for me. After taking off a couple years to care for my family, I am ready to get back to flexible and open schedule. Depending on the individual needs of each client, I have open days. At times - I do have my two young children with me (but this will depend on the animal). My children are experienced with, and love animals. I genuinely enjoy spending my time with animals and cater to each individual’s personal needs. I understand that each individual pet and owner will have their own requests and needs. I offer a safe and reliable transportation with my vehicle to venture to forests and parks as needed. I enjoy the outdoors and if that is in the best interest of the pet, we will have a lot of outdoor activities.
About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 12 years old. I’ve always been the person my family and friends ask to help watch their dog or to just stop by to let them out and feed them. Currently I work part time at petsmart as a dog trainer where I teach classes for all breed and ages of dogs, I’m an accredited trainer and I plan to be certified in the future. I have experience with puppies all ages and I am comfortable with giving medication to old dogs if needed. Currently I work part time at petsmart so I have lost of free time during the week to watch, walk or let out your dog if needed. I am available also for routine visits for the same pet. For all of my pets I have kept or taken care of, I have always followed a routine that I am either given or I create on my own to I make sure nothing gets left behind or forgotten. My goal is to ensure i reach your dog’s daily needs for the time that I’m there with them.

“Ife genuinely likes dogs and has been a really good job at being patient with my dog Phoenix who can be a bit standoffish at first. Responsible, quick to get back to me and my dogs were happy!”

About: Since a young age, I have been exposed to dogs as my mother was a vet technician (now retired) in the Durham Region community. Since then, I have developed a love for dogs and I am always looking for an opportunity to spend time with dogs. From 2006 to present, I have been lucky enough to look after four dogs of my own that were really truly a member of the family and enjoyed looking after them. As a dog sitter, I am available to dog sit for those exciting vacations that you hope to take or simply walk your dog during those busy days at home or at work! For my availability, contact me for more information! I look forward to hearing from you soon! I am currently working part time in the retail industry while in university full time, so my schedule may be different from time to time. My availability can be discussed to fit your pet’s needs! At my client’s home, I will always be there for your pet! When we aren’t taking a walk outside, I like to sit and relax with your pet with a book or watching television. If your pet wants to go outside, we will do that, play fetch or just spend time outside and enjoy the weather!
“Bozhena was so kind to accommodate a last minute booking, even driving in adverse weather to make sure my dog was cared for. She is incredibly reliable, and so so good with my dog. I can't say enough good things about her!”
About: We are a very active couple in our 30’s with lots of love to give your dogs while you’re away. Both of us have extensive experience caring for our own dogs who have since passed, and dog sitting for various friends and family. We are equipped to meet the physical and mental stimulation requirements of any energy level but specialize in meeting the needs of high energy dogs. We’ve had experience looking after all sizes - ranging from a hyperactive 10lbs Jack Russel to a lazy 100lbs mastiff. We love dogs and spending time in the outdoors but aren’t quite ready to get our own puppy with upcoming travel this summer, so boarding dogs in our home is the next best thing. Trevor works shift work and is often home throughout the day during the week and Emily works a mix of in-office and home making for a flexible schedule. We are selective about the dogs we board with us and have a robust set of questions for owners prior to agreeing to the sit, including a home visit. It’s imperative to us that we know as much as we can about your dog to ensure we are the right boarders for them. We do not take dogs from multiple households at one time but will take up to 3 dogs from one household, depending on their size. A dog needs a walk every morning and evening along with mental enrichment. Our schedules would be flexed around care for the dogs we’re looking after. We both have experience owning and caring for cats, puppies, high energy dogs, and senior dogs so we’re very easily adaptable to a routine that suits your pets needs. We only offer boarding services in our home and we require a meet and greet and for you to bring your dog to our home for a visit before we agree to boarding - your dog needs to have met us and feel safe in a new environment while you’re away. We have a fenced yard and are flexible around your dogs needs - whether you have a high energy herding breed that needs 2.5 hours of exercise per day or a senior dog that likes a 15 minute “sniff walk” around the block.
“Steph was great with our dog Bruce, she handled him very well considering he's 175lbs, usually we are a little reluctant on letting others walk him (family or friends) but Steph assured us on the first visit which certainly made us feel extremely comfortable, especially with when she was asking questions about our Bruce's obedience, any commands we use etc, rather try and use her own like some may have possibly...and we definitely would use her services again...,best of all she was always time, very polite, and is an animal expert...”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs, cats and other animals ever since I was 11. I’ve pet sat for friends, family and neighbours including basic care needs such as walking, feeding and playing and I have experience administering medication to special needs and senior dogs and cats I’m currently working part time, usually only 1 day a week, so I have lots of time to care for and play with your pups! I feel confident in caring for your pets needs, following the instructions provided by pet owners. I offer and require a free 15-30 minute meet and greet to ensure the safety of myself and your pets and to answer any questions you may have for me!
“I can’t recommend Randy enough! When I faced an emergency and couldn’t be there for my three ESA bullies, who are my world, Randy stepped in and went above and beyond. He cared for them like they were his own, feeding them, walking them, and even taking them by the river. He adapted perfectly to my rescue, and even helped him gain confidence despite being scared of his own shadow, and made sure all three felt safe and happy. I felt completely at ease knowing they were in such capable and caring hands. Truly outstanding service—thank you, Randy!”

“Our little guy absolutely loves his walks with Denell. He waits by the window for her and gets so excited when she arrives. Denell is a great and prompt communicator and has been very accommodating with our schedule and needs.”

About: I have two cats of my own currently and have fostered a feral cat for 6 months in the past. Experienced with administering pills and medication daily. I am currently working full time remote. Available for early morning/lunch time/evening drop ins every week day. More flexible availability on weekends and with 1 day advance notice. I don’t offer in-home sitting (at my place) at this time but will abide by any safety measures/necessary precautions at your home to ensure your pet’s wellbeing.
“Fatimah was wonderful with walking our dogs Levi and Jager! She always made sure to let me know how the walk went and was very responsive. 10/10 recommend… thank you for taking such good care of our fur babies!”

About: I spent 12 years caring for my family cat and learned how to keep pets safe, calm, and happy. I’m patient, responsible, and committed to excellent care. I work full‑time, but I’m available for pet care from Thursday to Saturday and can accept same‑day bookings. On Wednesdays, I’m available after 6 PM. If voluntary time off is available at 3 PM, I can leave work then and arrive shortly after if a client needs care on Wednesday. My dad is allergic, so dogs can’t enter my home. I provide outdoor care with full supervision, using my fenced backyard and dog‑friendly indoor break spots.
About: I've taken care of cats and dogs for years and have owned dogs as a child and youth. I treat and respect them like my own. It's important to me that the owners feel they are leaving their pets in good hands and that their beloved animals will get loved on and taken care of well in their absence. I do my best to ensure the pets are comfortable and happy when they are in my care and go above and beyond to provide good service to my clients. I work for a company from home and am not tied down to my desk between certain hours. I have a flexible schedule and reliable transportation and can work my schedule around my pet clients needs. I have a fenced in yard and like taking walks regularly or spending time outside when possible. I have two sons who also are animal lovers but if your animals are not comfortable with children, accommodations can be made.
About: People often say I grew up in a zoo because we had so many pets. Dogs, cats, ferrets, bunnies, hermit crabs...you name it. Unfortunately due to my often unpredictable work schedule I no longer have time to properly maintain a small zoo but I still crave pet playtime time and would love to care for yours when I can. Our home is small but we make up for it with our sizeable yard and live near farmland which makes for good long walks. We have an adorable senior cat named Oscar, who is very affectionate and playful. He is not thrilled about having other pets in the house but he’ll have to share lol. I can’t wait to meet some of your wonderful furbabies! I am currently experiencing a bit of a lull at work and as such have plenty of time on my hands which I am looking to fill with activities that will get me out of the house and keep me active. I have a large outdoor yard and our home is surrounded by farmland which makes for some good long walks. Pets under my care are welcome to roam freely unless crating requested (crates must be provided by client). Mealtimes, walks, and potty breaks provided in accordance with client's request and/or my availability.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Uxbridge choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 86% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 91% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 99% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
