“We had a pre-visit appointment with Christina and felt very comfortable leaving our cat Sadie in her care. She provided regular updates and photos. All was well on our return. We will definitely book Christina again!”
About: Growing up with a family of dogs, I've been caring for dogs from a young age, helping with tasks like walking and house sitting. Along with working at a dog groomers for washing and drying dogs. Not only that, but getting a dog of my own has definitely taught me a lot about responsible pet care! As being done with schooling, this is one of my full time jobs and currently have no prior commitments so I'm happy to work around your schedule! Unfortunately, I cannot provide cat care due to allergies. I am certified in pet first aid and CPR through the Red Cross, and I have hands-on experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities. Through my time of working with a variety of dogs, it has taught me to respect each pet's boundaries and care for them as if they were my own! They are more than just a pet, they're apart of the family!
“Jessica is great with my dog Maverick! He’s a bit shy and can be fussy about walking in rain or snow, but he took to her right away. I completely trust Jessica with my dog and would highly recommend her!”
“Quick to reply. Left lots of photos for us. Came over with a notebook during the meet and greet to keep track of what we requested. Pretty seamless. Thanks Cassandra and Rover.”

“Yujie took care of my senior kitty for 3 days (6x drop-in visits). I feel like Noodle was well take care of. Everything was documented as well so I knew my instructions were all being followed. Terrific experience.”

About: Have had dogs most of my life. Everything from a Chihuahua to a Rottweiller and German Shephard. Have always loved dogs. Look forward to meeting with you to discuss your needs. My schedule is quite flexible. I am willing to travel to homes in Aurora, Newmarket and parts of King City. We currently have a rescue from Georgia. We have also rescued a racing Greyhound and a Siberian Husky. Will also apply my dog training experience while walking your dog. We have lived in Newmarket for 3 1/2 years. Prior to that we lived in Richmond Hill. Our previous dogs lived a long time which is a testament to how well we took care of them. Our Rottweiller and Siberian Husky lived to almost 15 years old. I am retired. So my schedule is in my control. I am able to be available for furry friends as needed. Looking forward to new 4 legged friends. When looking after your pet, they will become a part of our family. They will get lots of attention. Have access to our large yard and go multiple walks per day.

“From the get-go Deborah has given me the impression that she wanted to go well above her calling and wants to ensure that her visits are not only to get the job done, but to provide as much fun and physical activity as possible for my pup in times when I’m away. She’s definitely an animal lover and made me feel extremely confident that I’m leaving my dog in great hands. I would highly recommend Deborah if you are looking for not only a walker, but a friend for your best friend!”

“Fantastic sitter. My cat is not the friendliest toward new people but Melanie was able to come in and earn his trust and even brought him treats. Will book again in future. :)”

“Lisa has been wonderful with my cat Alexa. This was the 2nd time Lisa helping me take care of Alexa, and Alexa, usually shy, has recognized Lisa as a friend, and been really close to her. Thanks Lisa!”

“Liu is very kind and easy to talk to. My two cats are extremely shy, and I was honestly surprised by how quickly they felt comfortable around Liu. Because she is so gentle, my cats even came up to sniff her hand and greet her, which almost never happens with strangers. There were quite a few things to manage in my home, but Liu was very patient and remembered all the details. I’m really glad we found her and wouldn’t hesitate to book her again.”

Yujie was a an excellent sitter. I felt 100% secure and confident in her ability to take care of my cat when I went away for a few days. Yujie went above and beyond to take care of my cat and make sure that she was happy, feeling well, and tended to. Yujie is an absolute natural and I would love to have her cat sit again in the future. I highly recommend her services.

My cats just love Isabel and Matthew. They usually aren’t very social with people but I got photos of them interacting with Isabel and Matthew every day. Drop ins were punctual and I always got photos and updates. They were willing to drag the trash to the curb- which was super helpful since I was gone for a while. When my neighbor had an emergency and needed something from my shed- they grabbed it for her. I knew my cats- and home- were in good hands. This is the second time they have done drop in visits with my cats - I would hire them again.

Sofia always makes my trips stress-free because I know my boys are in the best hands. She genuinely cares for them, treats them like her own, and always makes sure they’re happy, comfortable, and well looked after. It gives me so much peace of mind knowing they’re with someone who loves and cares for them as much as I do. My dogs are always excited to see her, and I couldn’t recommend Sofia more highly to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter.

Laura was amazing. Very attentive to our cat and treated him like family. Mikko is a shy boy but he opened up to her right away. Laura provide great feedback and took excellent photos. We felt at ease with Laura watching our boy. Will definitely be using Laura again when we go out of town. Thanks again!

Ariel is wonderful! Our shepherd pup Gus can be a bit aloof and unsure of new people but he has warmed to Ariel quickly and has a blast when she stops in for his pee & plays whilst we are at work! She’s great at following specific schedule needs and is considerate of our home too 💕 Would highly recommend

You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Newmarket choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
