About: I was the neighborhoods go to dog sitter growing up. Ive taken care of everything from rowdy Rottweilers to bitey chihuahuas and they are all beautiful creatures in my eyes. Im organized, structured, and communicative, so im dedicated to ensuring you are informed about your pets so you can enjoy your time away. I work part time currently, which leaves me with three to four days and nights each week to dedicate to your fuzzy companions. Im also very communicative and timely, so you'll never have to worry about being left in the dark regarding your pets wellbeing. I treat all pets and animals as if they were my own. One of my best characteristics is my patience and attentiveness with animals. Im also non judgemental and happy to care for pets with behaviors or higher needs.
“Jaiden was so good with our cat scout. Scout normally has a hard time adjusting to new places but she was so at home with Jaiden purring and even making biscuits by the second day! Would highly recommend!!”

“Would give her 6 stars if we could. Cleah was an absolutely wonderful sitter for our cat while we were gone for two weeks (and during Tropical Storm Fiona!). She took pains to sit and play with Orson, kept us updated on him with pictures and notes after every visit and went above-and-beyond, post-storm, to ensure that he remained well cared for. Assuming she wants to, we'll want her back for future cat-sitting. Thanks Cleah!”

About: As an animal lover with experience working in veterinary clinics, humane societies and a wildlife rehabilitation center, I’m an experienced sitter for any pet! I recently graduated from the Masters of Wildlife Biology at the University of Guelph and am now back living in Nova Scotia full time. Throughout my degree, I worked at the Guelph Humane Society as an animal care attendant, and worked at a wildlife rehabilitation center for the last 5 summers, as a wildlife care technician. I personally have a love for small critters - especially rabbits, rats and reptiles, and am more than happy to discuss drop-in for any “exotic” pet! I’m now running my own small business for the summer months, which means my hours are very flexible and I work from home! Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have :) I am a small business owner which means my schedule is very flexible and I work from home! My roommate and I used to do Rover together before she moved, so you may see her name (Brianna) in some of our reviews. Feel free to send me a message regarding scheduling to see if I’m able to fit your pet into my day! For dog walking, I am able to walk around your neighborhood but I also have my own car so could take your dog to a different area if you prefer!
About: Ive grown up caring for animals my entire life: dogs, cats, and chickens! What makes me a great sitter is that I genuinely love animals and my goal is to make them feel as comfortable and happy as possible. I am also an active person so your dog will always come home well-exercised after a walk with me! I work part time and can be pretty accommodating with your schedule. Mornings, afternoons or evenings - I am sure we can make something work :) In my home, my cats are my family and are treated as such. I make it a priority to play with them everyday and make sure that they have toys available to help stimulate them. In your home, I will prioritize yours and your pets boundaries by following all given instructions carefully and I will always be a transparent and timely communicator.
About: I have a 5-year-old corgi named Frankie who loves meeting other dogs. We’re out on lots of walks every day anyway, so if your dog enjoys having a buddy, it’s a perfect fit! Frankie was a pretty wild puppy, so I understand the patience and training it takes to raise a well-behaved dog. I’m very happy to work with dogs of all ages, including puppies. Looking forward to meeting your pup! 🐾 I have a very flexible schedule since I’ve finished school and am currently studying for the BAR. My rates are affordable because I am such a dog lover and Frankie and I genuinely enjoy the extra company on our walks. My dog is extremely social and non reactive, as well as crate trained if you were comfortable with her interacting with your dog! I also am very familiar with stubborn and reactive dogs and would be comfortable accommodating for that.
“I cannot recommend Jessica enough! From day one I could tell she was committed to connecting with myself and Little Guy my 13 year old cat. We had a great meet and greet and then she came in for drop-in visits everyday for week. She sent me detailed report cards, pictures, and kept my house super clean which was so lovely to come home to after a trip away. Thank you Jessica! ? Andrea & Little Guy”

“Emily did an amazing job with drop-in visits for our two cats while we were out of town for a week. Emily provided great updates at every visit and was even able to get our shy cat to warm up! Highly recommend.”

About: I grew up with a spicy Shih Tzu who is now 13 years old, I am used to cleaning up accidents and understand the need for frequent bathroom breaks. I own two cats of my own who I treat like my own babies and understand that cats are not “low maintenance”, they need stimulation and love just as much as dogs do! I am currently working from home. Sometimes out on the road for a few hours during the day but my schedule is very flexible and I’m often home for the entire day! I scoop my cats litter box every morning and evening minimum, I will scoop your litter box every visit to make sure the kitties have a clean place to go. My cats have a feeding schedule so I understand the importance of keeping on that schedule if you have one. I make sure to play with my cats every day with whatever toy or game is their current favourite, I think daily playtime is very important to keep your cats happy!

“Julia was amazing! Very professional, thoughtful, helpful, and reliable. She made sure our two cats and home were very well taken care of while we were away. We came back to a clean house and two healthy, happy pets which is exactly what you hope for. Already planning to book with her again, highly recommended!”

About: I welcome all dogs into my home,. Small, large, energetic and subdued. Growing up with all different varieties of dogs has given me a confidence when dealing with all sorts of behaviors. I can relate to them, and be sure I'm giving them the care they need, where it be a run in the woods, our a casual walk around the neighborhood. I also volunteer at the SPCA as a dog companion, which has given me the opportunity to learn from my peers in all sorts of animal behavior. You can count on me to give your dog the attention they deserve. I also have an 8 year old Siberian Husky, who loves other dogs if they would like a playmate. If your dog is more into relaxing alone, that's also no problem. I currently work from home, so you can rest assured your pet will have companionship, 24/7. I like to fit in at least three walks a day, depending on your dog's needs. I have a fenced yard, where your dog can move freely and get familiar with their new surroundings. I also make a point to always dedicate a safe, private space in my home for my dog guests, where they can relax, and feel safe.
About: My experience in veterinary medicine, animal care, and behavior has given me a strong understanding of cats' unique needs, personalities, and medical requirements. I am comfortable caring for cats of all ages, from energetic kittens to senior cats requiring extra attention and medication. I also have experience recognizing subtle feline body language and stress signals, helping me provide care that is both compassionate and respectful of each cat's comfort level. As a Fear Free Certified professional, I prioritize creating a calm, low-stress environment and am experienced working with shy, anxious, reactive, or otherwise sensitive cats. Whether your cat is social and outgoing or prefers their own space, I adapt my approach to ensure they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I recently transitioned to a casual position at Lady Hammond Animal Hospital after working there full-time for nearly two years. This change has given me the flexibility and free time to dedicate to caring for your beloved pets and providing them with the attention they deserve. My passion for animal care began long before my veterinary experience, with previous work in dog daycare and grooming environments. What I enjoy most is building relationships with animals and helping them feel happy, fulfilled, and comfortable while their families are away. I have always loved spending time outdoors and staying active. After the loss of my own dog last October, I found myself missing the companionship and joy that comes from sharing walks and adventures with a furry friend. Now that I have the time and availability, I've made it my mission to help provide that experience for pets whose owners may need an extra hand with exercise, enrichment, and companionship. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, playtime, or simply having a caring and knowledgeable companion nearby, I'm happy to tailor my care to their individual needs. With a flexible schedule and a genuine love for animals, I'm always ready for the next adventure. I have extensive experience handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, allowing me to tailor each walk to your dog's individual needs—whether they prefer an energetic adventure, a leisurely stroll, or something in between. My goal is to ensure every outing is safe, enriching, and enjoyable. I drive a spacious SUV with plenty of room to safely transport pets to appropriate exercise and enrichment locations, as well as provide reliable transportation to and from veterinary appointments if needed. I am comfortable caring for pets with a wide range of personalities and needs, from independent animals who require quiet time and space to decompress, to affectionate "Velcro pets" who thrive on constant companionship and attention. My background in animal behavior helps me recognize body language and stress signals, allowing me to adapt my care and provide accommodations that support each pet's comfort and well-being. I am also experienced with a variety of feeding routines and dietary requirements, including veterinary prescription diets, medication administration, food allergies and sensitivities, and raw feeding protocols. I understand the importance of maintaining your pet's established routine and will ensure they receive consistent, attentive care while you're away.
Dartmouth dog parents share their Rover experiences
Rhonda was a wonderful sitter, very reliable and caring, even in the midst of a crippling snowstorm that brought the city to a halt and cancelled my initial return flight. I had to be in another province and she sent me daily photos and updates. I will definitely ask her to come by again; so glad to have found her.
