About: I have over 10 years of experience working with dogs of diverse breeds, ages, behaviours, and care needs. In addition to growing up with family dogs my entire life, I have 6 years of volunteer experience with dog rescue associations. Through this work, I have fostered over 10 dogs in my own home, with stays ranging from just a few days to my longest foster stay of 7 months. Alongside fostering, I have also volunteered walking, socializing, and caring for countless other rescue dogs. I also hold a certificate from the Association for Animal Welfare Development, earned through completing coursework focused on introducing dogs to new environments, people, and other dogs in safe and positive ways. Through my volunteer experience, I have communicated with dog behaviourists, veterinarians, and adopters to help support the best possible outcomes for each dog. Over the years, I have cared for dogs with a wide range of behavioural and medical needs. I have experience administering medication, supporting nervous or high-energy dogs, creating safe introductions, and adapting routines to fit each dog’s individual personality and needs. I am confident handling unexpected situations and always prioritize creating a calm, safe, and positive environment for pets. In addition to my extensive volunteer experience, I have also cared for dogs as an official sitter and have experience following detailed care instructions while caring for dogs both in their own homes and in mine. I pride myself on having strong communication skills and understanding that dogs are truly members of the family. Through my volunteer experience, I have learned the importance of transparency, consistency, and trust when it comes to caring for someone else’s pet, and I believe clear communication is extremely important in ensuring the safest and happiest experience possible for your dog. I also still keep in contact with many of the individuals and families who adopted dogs I previously fostered. Because of this, I completely understand how important updates and communication can be while you are away from your pet, and I am more than happy to provide as many updates, photos, and check-ins as you would like. I have a genuine love and connection with dogs, and truly believe that the time spent caring for them is always mutually rewarding. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine and schedule. I currently have a flexible schedule, which allows me to dedicate consistent time and attention to walks, feedings, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day. Having fostered and cared for dogs with a wide range of needs over the years, I am very used to structuring my routine around an animal’s care, comfort, and consistency. I also enjoy staying active through walks and outdoor time, so incorporating pet care into my day is something I genuinely enjoy When caring for pets in a client’s home, I closely follow all instructions regarding feeding schedules, walks, medications, crate routines, training expectations, and household rules to help maintain consistency and reduce stress for the pet while their owner is away. In addition to caring for pets, I take pride in being respectful, clean, and trustworthy in others’ homes.
“Loren was very sweet and took good care of my kitty while I was away on a trip! Loki seemed to be happy upon my return! She was very responsive, gave good updates and spent quality time with Loki, making sure he had his daily brushing and treats! I would recommend Loren!”

“Natasha took excellent care of my kitty while I was away for a long weekend! Thank you for the pictures and the updates on her litter behavior :) we will definitely feel comfortable booking Natasha again.”

About: I have taken care of my own family pets since I was 6 years old. I have been a dog sitter for my neighbours pets in the past. As well I used to work at a vet clinic in highschool back in Ontario. I currently work full time. I am free morning/ afternoon/ evening on the weekends. Sometimes available during the early mornings and evenings throughout the week. I provide safe, reliable, and attentive care in each pet's own home environment. I carefully follow the owner's instructions regarding feeding, water, exercise, medications, and any special needs. During walks, I use secure leash-handling practices, avoid unsafe situations, and pay close attention to each dog's comfort and behavior. For drop-in visits, I make sure pets have fresh water, receive plenty of attention and playtime, and are comfortable before I leave. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so they know their pets are happy and well cared for.
“This is our first time using Rover and Ross gave us the best experience. He was so communicative and kind, sending us pictures of the cats with every drop off and detailed notes - he even went out of his way to bring up some of our mail from the lobby.”

“Would give her 6 stars if we could. Cleah was an absolutely wonderful sitter for our cat while we were gone for two weeks (and during Tropical Storm Fiona!). She took pains to sit and play with Orson, kept us updated on him with pictures and notes after every visit and went above-and-beyond, post-storm, to ensure that he remained well cared for. Assuming she wants to, we'll want her back for future cat-sitting. Thanks Cleah!”

With a biology background and hands-on experience in animal care, I bring a thoughtful, detail-oriented approach to pet care. I grew up around animals and have cared for dogs and cats (and plenty of other animals along the way!) across a wide range of ages, breeds, energy levels, and temperaments. I’m comfortable supporting pets with strong routines or behavioural quirks and have experience with basic training cues and leash handling through fostering dogs. I take reliability seriously and communicate clearly throughout each booking so owners feel informed and at ease while their pet is in my care! I’m currently in graduate school, and I’m available some weekdays and most weekends for walks, drop-ins, or house sittings (I can typically accommodate different routines & scheduling needs). I love incorporating pets into my daily routine with outdoor walks, hikes, and playtime, making sure they get lots of attention and exercise. I tailor care to each pet’s needs and routine to keep them comfortable, settled, and happy. I provide dependable, attentive care in your home and focus on keeping each pet comfortable and well cared for. I pay close attention to behaviour, energy level, and day-to-day needs. I communicate clearly throughout the visit with photo updates.
“Buster was SO happy to have Sophie check in on him. The photos and updates made my heart so happy to see how well cared for and loved he was while I was away. Thank you so much for looking after Buster. It’s clear how much of an animal lover you are!”
About: Lifelong dog lover and proud dog mom to my Australian Shepherd, Pepper 🐾 My home is calm, cozy, and very dog-friendly. I work from home, so your pup will get plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day—no long hours alone. I’m experienced with daily routines, walks, playtime, and making sure each dog feels comfortable and cared for. I’m happy to care for puppies (with all the patience and consistency they need!) as well as senior dogs who may need a gentler, more relaxed approach. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers to cuddle and relax, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home. I work from home most days, which allows me to give pets lots of attention and keep a consistent routine. I’m home Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and weekends, so your pet will have plenty of company throughout the day. On Wednesdays, I’m in the office, but I’m located very close to home and can easily come back for check-ins, walks, and care as needed. Overall, I have a flexible schedule and can adapt to your pet’s routine to make sure they’re comfortable, well cared for, and never left alone for long. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a pet-friendly apartment on the main floor, which means quick and easy access to the outdoors for bathroom breaks and walks—no long waits or elevators needed. We’re also located near great off-leash parks and walking areas, perfect for getting in lots of exercise and fresh air (always based on your comfort level and your dog’s needs). Inside, my home is clean, calm, and set up to be a safe, cozy environment where your dog can relax and feel at home. I’m attentive, responsible, and always mindful of each dog’s routine, safety, and well-being.
“Aliya took care of my 2yo cat for 20 days straight during long vacation, and was awesome at communicating and leaving daily notes and pictures, and didn't hesitate to ask meaningful questions when needed. Thanks to her daily brushes, the matted hair on Neko's back got off! My flight got cancelled last minute, and Aliya kindly offered to come an extra day, what a life saver!”

“Melissa and Rod were excellent. They took very good care of our cat, who was in good spirits when we returned home from holiday travel. They were very communicative with regular updates and photos. They helped us problem solve a few very minor things with our pet. I’d highly recommend them.”

“Naomi was great. She did drop-in visits with our cats for 2 weeks and was very communicative and sent great photos. It was our first time leaving our cats home alone for a significant period of time and they were in great hands.”

About: I've grown up surrounded by animals and various pets all my life. Unfortunately due to my job, I am unable to have one myself, but would love nothing more then to spend a day with your furry friend. I have cared for Dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, you name it! From high energy breeds bouncing off the wall to just wanting to chill at home I can match whatever your furball needs. I am available after 4 pm Monday to Friday and anytime on weekends. I am happy to accommodate your schedule as needed and be flexible. I go on various work trips that will be communicated through my calendar. I understand different pets have different needs. I am happy to accommodate to you as required such as feeding, enrichment, and grooming. Also happy to provide updates and photos throughout care.

“Miranda was fabulous! She gave us a heads up before heading to our place, and was communicative while looking after our little girl. We are looking forward to having her help again soon!”

About: I've been around dogs since I was a little girl, and caring for them is one of my favourite things. I'm active and love the outdoors, so walks are the part of my day I look forward to. I'm happy with young, high-energy dogs who need to burn off steam and with older dogs who prefer a slower pace and a calm companion. I follow each owner's instructions to the letter, so your dog stays on the food, walk, and routine they already know. And I'm a big believer in treats and belly rubs. I'm a full-time sitter, so I'm available throughout the day, every day. That means flexible visit times and a quick response to booking requests and check-ins. In your home, I stick to the routine and house rules you give me, and I follow your written instructions for feeding, medications, and access to rooms. I keep doors and windows secure so no one slips out. On walks I keep dogs leashed. I keep doors and gates secure, watch for any change in appetite, energy, or behaviour, and send photo updates each visit. If anything seems off, I'll contact you right away, and your vet if you'd like.
“Mine was an awesome sitter! She was really sweet with Johny, and I can say that he loved her as well. She followed all our instructions and even offered to look after Johny the next time we needed help. She’s definitely staying on our list!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Halifax
Lucy has been amazing with our puppy, Hudson! She has been helping with midday visits while we’re working, taking him for short walks, giving him lots of attention, and helping reinforce his puppy training and routines. She’s reliable, communicative, and clearly cares about him. Hudson is always excited to see her, and we have complete confidence in her care. We (and Hudson!) absolutely love Lucy and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for support with their dog.

Lori is hands down the absolute best! From the very first moment my dog met her, it was instant love—and honestly, I felt the exact same way. I was completely out of touch and unable to communicate while I was away, but I had total peace of mind because Lori already felt just like family. We love her so much! If pets could leave reviews, I know they would join us in giving Lori a million stars. We couldn’t recommend her more! Hey Lori, if in the future you will need any favor, dont hesitate to message us! Keep in touch! ❤️ so much love

Rhonda was a wonderful sitter, very reliable and caring, even in the midst of a crippling snowstorm that brought the city to a halt and cancelled my initial return flight. I had to be in another province and she sent me daily photos and updates. I will definitely ask her to come by again; so glad to have found her.

Thank you Vixie! Vixie was excellent, we have two mini aussies and a cat so it's quite the household and Vixie handled them all excellently!! Sawyer (one of our mini aussies) can be reactive and requires patience when taking her out. Vixie was able to navigate sawyer no problem! I couldn't recommend Vixie more!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
