“Sophie did a great job of caring for our two cats while we were out of town! She was very reliable and communicated effectively/was responsive. Even our neurotic and demanding cats seem to have really warmed up to her by the end of the weekend. We have already booked another series of visits with Sophie and would recommend entrusting one’s pets to her!”

“Tamanna and Pramond M. were both a delight to work with. Their care and love for their own cats was evident in how they took care of mine. I would definitely book them again!”

“Bridget took great care of our girls and dropped in twice so we could enjoy a night out! She sent us several photos and followed all of our requests perfectly! We will definitely continue to use Bridget!”
About: Lifelong dog lover and proud dog mom to my Australian Shepherd, Pepper 🐾 My home is calm, cozy, and very dog-friendly. I work from home, so your pup will get plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day—no long hours alone. I’m experienced with daily routines, walks, playtime, and making sure each dog feels comfortable and cared for. I’m happy to care for puppies (with all the patience and consistency they need!) as well as senior dogs who may need a gentler, more relaxed approach. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers to cuddle and relax, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home. I work from home most days, which allows me to give pets lots of attention and keep a consistent routine. I’m home Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and weekends, so your pet will have plenty of company throughout the day. On Wednesdays, I’m in the office, but I’m located very close to home and can easily come back for check-ins, walks, and care as needed. Overall, I have a flexible schedule and can adapt to your pet’s routine to make sure they’re comfortable, well cared for, and never left alone for long. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a pet-friendly apartment on the main floor, which means quick and easy access to the outdoors for bathroom breaks and walks—no long waits or elevators needed. We’re also located near great off-leash parks and walking areas, perfect for getting in lots of exercise and fresh air (always based on your comfort level and your dog’s needs). Inside, my home is clean, calm, and set up to be a safe, cozy environment where your dog can relax and feel at home. I’m attentive, responsible, and always mindful of each dog’s routine, safety, and well-being.
“Delightful! Wonderful personality! Kind to my animals and very respectful in my home! You would be stupid not to reach out to her! Thank you soooo much!!!! You made my holiday better!”

“Loren was very sweet and took good care of my kitty while I was away on a trip! Loki seemed to be happy upon my return! She was very responsive, gave good updates and spent quality time with Loki, making sure he had his daily brushing and treats! I would recommend Loren!”

About: I have grown up with dogs all throughout my life, who had varying health issues and required special medical attention occasionally. I have proficient in dog walking, getting the afternoon zoomies out, and administering medication when necessary. My childhood dog is now 12 years old and is dealing with numerous conditions, and I have learned how to care for him and keep him comfortable in his senior life. I’d love to do the same for your dog no matter their age!! I work part time and have a varying schedule that is confirmed a month in advance. It is usually open Monday-Friday, and I am also available Holidays!! I care for my current cat Pekoe as though she is my literal child. She gets all the attention and love in the world, and I am very cautious and aware of any health issues she may present. I volunteer regularly at shelters and adjust my approach to care giving as I learn the attitude and needs of each individual animals. I recognize them as conscious friends who deserve the love, respect, and safety that we treat humans with.
“Lucy is a damaged girl from her life before being seized by the SPCA and adopted by me. I am rarely away for a long time, but when I am, she requires some solid human contact and petting/brushing twice each day or she can feel isolated and abandoned. When I came home after more than two weeks away, Lucy was calm and very chill. This to me was a sign that Signy spent lots of time with her and made her feel cared for and she was a happy cat. I am very pleased with Signy and recommend her highly. I will be adding Signy to my favourites list and I will use her again.”

“Rhiannon took such great care of our dog and cat while we were away! I will absolutely be asking for her help again. She was very communicative and responsive which gave us peace of mind. I could tell from the pictures and videos we got that the pets really trusted her and enjoyed their time together. She really went above and beyond to make sure they were happy and safe. I would highly recommend Rhiannon to anyone and am so appreciative of her help.”

About: I have been taking care of animals ever since I can remember! My background working on farms taught me to stay calm under pressure and handle animals of all sizes and temperaments. Whether it’s a stubborn puppy or a cat that needs a little extra space, I’m highly observant of animal body language. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m looking forward to helping you and your pet! I work remotely in the South End, giving me great flexibility for walks and house sitting. Since I'm home throughout the day, I can provide a high level of supervision and quick responses for any last minute needs. I treat your home with the same care I treat my own. While house sitting, I stay tidy, follow all house rules, and ensure your pet’s environment stays consistent and without stress. I provide detailed updates and photos after every visit or throughout a stay. I’m also happy to handle small household tasks.
About: I have had my own dog, Bear, for 10 years. He’s a highly excitable beagle-dachshund mix! As a university student, I’m always looking to give back to my community in the summers. I’d love to help out my fellow pet-lovers by ensuring their dog gets their needs exceeded while feeling comfortable and loved. With a flexible schedule and calm demeanour, I can help unload the stresses of life by giving your dog the care they deserve🐾 From July-August I have a highly flexible schedule. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily life as a student since my summer-job has come to a close and school does not begin until September. I can help at those difficult times when both work and your dog need attention at once. I will always take the time to learn the precautions you have set up for your dog, whether that be fencing, gates, crates, or a designated play area. You can trust me to respect any special requests as I understand the needs dogs sometimes require. My own dog is on daily medication and requires mobility assistance for stairs.
“Kelsey did a great job feeding and walking our dog while we were away. It was a bit complex because our dog was in our RV in an RV park, but she figured it all out. She was on time, sent photos, and everything was tidy when we returned. I'd definitely recommend her.”
About: I’ve owned and taken care of many small to big dogs all my life, growing up with animals in the house and around me. Currently I have a cat who is best friends with her golden retriever back home in ontario. I have held my own accountability and taken the responsibility to feed, walk, bathe, and play with my pets everyday because they need enrichment as well. Currently I work at a restaurant working either evening or brunch shifts with a fairly flexible schedule. I’m an early riser and live with my boyfriend who is generally home in the evenings if I am working. Most days I can provide a minimum 1 long and 2 short walks a day if working. If my schedule is open than I generally will find a longer activity to do with the dogs. I have a fenced yard so your pups stay close by when going potty and when I am gone marbles (my cat) will be able to keep them company, if needed i can also crate them. I like to keep my apartment clean so there is never food or a mess for your pups to get into as well.
About: I have experience in training dogs as well as pet-sitting. Feel free to let me know anything adjustments or accommodations you pet needs that would make them more comfortable and happy! I am currently working part-time at a research lab with Dalhousie and spend a lot of extra time in Downtown Halifax, and I would love to be able to fill that extra time hanging out with animals! I have my own dog that can join your pet on a walk or for play-time if that is something you would like. I also know plenty of pet-friendly cafes and areas that would be fun for any pet to visit!

Keisha took excellent care of our 4 Guinea Pigs while we were away for two weeks! Highly recommend her for any pet sitting. Our children loved the photo updates everyday, and we had peace of mind knowing the piggies were being cared for daily while we were away.

Lucy has been amazing with our puppy, Hudson! She has been helping with midday visits while we’re working, taking him for short walks, giving him lots of attention, and helping reinforce his puppy training and routines. She’s reliable, communicative, and clearly cares about him. Hudson is always excited to see her, and we have complete confidence in her care. We (and Hudson!) absolutely love Lucy and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for support with their dog.

Lori is hands down the absolute best! From the very first moment my dog met her, it was instant love—and honestly, I felt the exact same way. I was completely out of touch and unable to communicate while I was away, but I had total peace of mind because Lori already felt just like family. We love her so much! If pets could leave reviews, I know they would join us in giving Lori a million stars. We couldn’t recommend her more! Hey Lori, if in the future you will need any favor, dont hesitate to message us! Keep in touch! ❤️ so much love

Rhonda was a wonderful sitter, very reliable and caring, even in the midst of a crippling snowstorm that brought the city to a halt and cancelled my initial return flight. I had to be in another province and she sent me daily photos and updates. I will definitely ask her to come by again; so glad to have found her.

Thank you Vixie! Vixie was excellent, we have two mini aussies and a cat so it's quite the household and Vixie handled them all excellently!! Sawyer (one of our mini aussies) can be reactive and requires patience when taking her out. Vixie was able to navigate sawyer no problem! I couldn't recommend Vixie more!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
