About: I’ve always grown up with labs and many cats. I’ve trained our family puppies, administered oral/topical medications for sick and recovering pets, and have helped raise kittens from birth (with their mama around). I’ve cared for dogs from family members, friends, and coworkers. I’m comfortable with sleepovers or just to keep fluffy buddies company when home alone. I have a chronic illness that keeps me from working full time so most of my time is spent at home or out for leisurely exercise. I’m very flexible and adjustable to fit you and your pets schedule. I always consider my health when accepting jobs so I can assure that your buddies will get the quality care they need. I’m a cuddly person and love to make pets feel happy and relaxed. I’ll make sure any training, eating, and potty breaks are aligned with their normal schedules. Daily journals will be kept so that you know exactly how your pets day went. If caring for ill/disabled pets, I can also record medication times and detailed food/bathroom reports. Most assuredly, I will always promote play and fun!
About: I have several years of experience caring for animals, including my dog, Harvey (8 years old), and my cat, Bender (13 years old). In addition to providing daily care for my pets, I’ve also walked and pet-sat for a variety of other animals. I’m reliable, friendly, and genuinely enjoy working with animals of all kinds. I am currently in University but am available for up to 3 pet visits and walks throughout the day! I have full weekend availability throughout the summer. Whether caring for pets in my home or in a client’s home, I always prioritize their safety, comfort, and well-being. I follow any specific routines or instructions provided, including feeding schedules, medication needs, and exercise requirements. I make sure pets are in a secure, clean, and calm environment, and I treat every animal with patience and respect as if they were my own. I also provide regular updates to ensure owners feel confident and informed while they’re away.
About: I have a 5-year-old corgi named Frankie who loves meeting other dogs. We’re out on lots of walks every day anyway, so if your dog enjoys having a buddy, it’s a perfect fit! Frankie was a pretty wild puppy, so I understand the patience and training it takes to raise a well-behaved dog. I’m very happy to work with dogs of all ages, including puppies. Looking forward to meeting your pup! 🐾 I have a very flexible schedule since I’ve finished school and am currently studying for the BAR. My rates are affordable because I am such a dog lover and Frankie and I genuinely enjoy the extra company on our walks. My dog is extremely social and non reactive, as well as crate trained if you were comfortable with her interacting with your dog! I also am very familiar with stubborn and reactive dogs and would be comfortable accommodating for that.
“Rhiannon was such a pleasure to work with. She was so knowledgeable and understanding about working with my anxious rescue pup, and we are looking forward to the next visit! Would highly recommend.”

“Naomi was attentive to the cats' needs, did everything we asked of her, and took time to play and engage with the cats. She is a great communicator and gave daily updates :)”

“Would give her 6 stars if we could. Cleah was an absolutely wonderful sitter for our cat while we were gone for two weeks (and during Tropical Storm Fiona!). She took pains to sit and play with Orson, kept us updated on him with pictures and notes after every visit and went above-and-beyond, post-storm, to ensure that he remained well cared for. Assuming she wants to, we'll want her back for future cat-sitting. Thanks Cleah!”

“Miranda was fabulous! She gave us a heads up before heading to our place, and was communicative while looking after our little girl. We are looking forward to having her help again soon!”

“Jiaxin is an awesome pet sitter! Very good communication, always on time (very organized), and provides reliable updates. Thanks Jiaxin! It is really nice to know my cat will get good care when I'm travelling.”

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover who grew up surrounded by pups — especially poodles and mountain sheepdogs — so caring for dogs truly feels second nature to me. 🐾 I live in downtown Halifax, which means lots of fun walking routes, parks, and new smells to explore! I love going for early morning walks to start the day and peaceful evening strolls to wind down, so your dog will get plenty of fresh air and exercise. I’m comfortable with different sizes and energy levels, from playful, high-energy dogs to calm, cuddly companions. Having grown up with larger breeds, I’m confident handling strong, active dogs, and I also adore the sweet, intelligent personalities of poodles. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every dog like they’re my own. Whether your pup needs long walks, playtime, belly rubs, or just some cozy company, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. Can’t wait to meet your furry family member! 🐶💛 I currently work remote - Being able to do this gives me a lot of time to spend going on walks , training, playing with little furry guys. I do have one toy poodle teddy he is a male 6 years of age and neutered . He's well trained and behaved he has his walking - food - play schedule and great with other dogs.
“Sophie is top notch!!! She takes such good care of our kitty! Sends us tons of pics, plays with her feeds her. Treats her like her own cat. No matter if we are gone two days it 7 days our cat is always a happy cat when we return. Cannot recommend her highly enough!”

“Sophie is a very reliable and communicative pet sitter. Just from the photos she sends, I can tell that my pet (who is normally shy) is completely comfortable with her around. I highly recommend booking her!”

About: I grew up with a spicy Shih Tzu who is now 13 years old, I am used to cleaning up accidents and understand the need for frequent bathroom breaks. I own two cats of my own who I treat like my own babies and understand that cats are not “low maintenance”, they need stimulation and love just as much as dogs do! I am currently working from home. Sometimes out on the road for a few hours during the day but my schedule is very flexible and I’m often home for the entire day! I scoop my cats litter box every morning and evening minimum, I will scoop your litter box every visit to make sure the kitties have a clean place to go. My cats have a feeding schedule so I understand the importance of keeping on that schedule if you have one. I make sure to play with my cats every day with whatever toy or game is their current favourite, I think daily playtime is very important to keep your cats happy!

I have loads of experience taking care of and fostering dogs and cats, and recently joined Rover because I simply can’t get enough of being around them. I’ve shared my life with many animals including, a Cocker Spaniel, a Pomchi, an Arabian Greyhound, and now a friendly tabby cat. I understand that every animal has their own unique personality and needs. :) Whether it’s a long stroll, playtime, or a cozy nap, your pup/cat will get the same care, attention, and love that I give my own pets. I can’t wait to meet your furry friend! If I care for your pet, I will provide you with a simple art portrait of them too! I’m self-employed, which gives me flexible hours to care for pets. I usually need a few days notice for weekday visits, but I’m often available mornings, lunch hours, and evenings. This flexibility lets me give your cat or dog consistent attention, walks, and cuddles around your schedule. I treat your home and pets with the utmost respect and responsibility. I follow your instructions carefully, supervise pets at all times, and ensure they are safe, comfortable, and happy. From secure feeding and water routines to safe play and monitoring, I prioritize their well-being while you’re away.
“Steph took wonderful care of our three cats. We have one older shy girl and two rambunctious kittens, and all three cats warmed up to Steph almost immediately. Steph made us feel very at-ease with a meet and greet, and sent us very detailed updates every day. It's clear she loves animals! We will definitely call on her again if we need a cat sitter.”

Halifax dog parents share their Rover experiences
Rhonda was a wonderful sitter, very reliable and caring, even in the midst of a crippling snowstorm that brought the city to a halt and cancelled my initial return flight. I had to be in another province and she sent me daily photos and updates. I will definitely ask her to come by again; so glad to have found her.

Thank you Vixie! Vixie was excellent, we have two mini aussies and a cat so it's quite the household and Vixie handled them all excellently!! Sawyer (one of our mini aussies) can be reactive and requires patience when taking her out. Vixie was able to navigate sawyer no problem! I couldn't recommend Vixie more!
