About: I have had my own dog, Bear, for 10 years. He’s a highly excitable beagle-dachshund mix! As a university student, I’m always looking to give back to my community in the summers. I’d love to help out my fellow pet-lovers by ensuring their dog gets their needs exceeded while feeling comfortable and loved. With a flexible schedule and calm demeanour, I can help unload the stresses of life by giving your dog the care they deserve🐾 From July-August I have a highly flexible schedule. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily life as a student since my summer-job has come to a close and school does not begin until September. I can help at those difficult times when both work and your dog need attention at once. I will always take the time to learn the precautions you have set up for your dog, whether that be fencing, gates, crates, or a designated play area. You can trust me to respect any special requests as I understand the needs dogs sometimes require. My own dog is on daily medication and requires mobility assistance for stairs.

Julia was so wonderful with Paisley! She took great care of her and made Paisley feel very comfortable with her, even as a shy cat. She always let me know how the visits were, and sent the cutest photos!

About: I have experience with dog sitting a dog with anxiety and able to give medications. Also have experience feeding dogs raw food. Plus I have two Huskies of my own that I raise from puppies. I have experience with taking dogs for walks and to the dog park where they can be themselves. I'm currently looking after one dog occasionally when the person goes away. So I have alot of time in my day to look after other animals. I own two Huskies but my partner can look after them when I'm away. I always put the dog safety first and make sure they are not getting in anything they shouldn't. On a walk and I see another dog coming I will pull over to one side and let the dogs pass. If you have a dog with anxiety, I will listen to there body language. When they say it's enough it's enough. I will leave or turn around and go home. If they need to decompress I will give them time to do that.

About: I have had a special place in my heart for animals of all kind my whole life. I have a dog and three cats of my own and I have dogsat for friends and family on many occasions for prolonged periods. By day, I am a Pharmacy Technician, which means I’m patient, empathetic, and have medical experience (I’m very comfortable administering medication and injections). I work full time but I have the time to give your pet quality time and attention, walks, bathroom breaks, and whatever other special care they might need. I’m experienced with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and kitties of all attitudes. I will make sure your pet is cared for in the way that they’re used to being cared for so they feel comfortable and you feel at ease knowing they’re in good hands. For winter walks, I follow a safety-first policy. If sidewalks are icy, there is freezing rain/sleet, or conditions are unsafe for walking, I may need to cancel or reschedule. I’ll always give as much notice as possible.

About: Hey, I’m Kaya! I’m an English teacher and part-time organic landscaping/gardener. I’m lucky to have a flexible schedule that lets me care for your pets, too. I teach online from home Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and I’m on-site Tuesday and Thursday — just a quick 3-minute drive away. My classes are short (2.5 hours, twice a day), so your pet gets lots of attention: a solid morning walk, a midday visit (with playtime or an ocean loop), and a longer walk in the afternoon. My partner, Patrick, and I live in a cozy bungalow on a quiet street, just steps from the ocean, with easy access to wooded trails. We have an unfenced yard with a safe leash setup for quick breaks during the day, and we love getting out for fresh-air adventures together. We’re also happy to offer evening walks or jogs after 5pm—perfect for active fuzzbuds who need an extra outing. If you’re planning a trip, we’d love to be your pet’s home away from home. You can expect lots of care, cuddles, and calm, attentive energy, so you can travel worry-free. I can be available during the work week (with drop-off before 8:30am). I teach online classes during the day, but can always offer an early morning/lunch break walk, afternoon yard breaks, and a longer 4:30 trail walk. I care for pets in a calm, safe, and welcoming home environment. Feel free to drop your pet off for an overnight stay, or book them in for longer while you travel worry-free!! I can also do house checks or evening walks!

About: From a young age I’ve always had a passion for animals and providing proper care. From dogs to hamsters and others in between. At my family home I’ve taken care of upwards of 9 pets. I’ve also babysat overnight my boyfriends two shih tzus. I’ve been a sitter on Rover in Wolfville for a year now, but I moved back to my hometown. I am currently working full time at Jollytails! I am free for dog walks in the evening & can do over night stays on the weekends. My shifts are quite long (10 hours) so it makes overnights more difficult during the week as I wouldn’t want to leave your fur baby for that long! Unfortunately I can not offer at home boarding as I live at home with 4 cats. I’m willing to come to your home to do overnight stays and I have a car as well to take your dog(s) for drives to parks/lakes.

About: Hello, thank you for taking a look at my profile! If you are looking for someone who is responsible, knowledgeable, honest, compassionate and Pet First Aid certified to look after your pets, please continue reading and send me a message. I can’t wait for us to get to know each other better! My name is Chloe, and I would love to be your dogs next best friend! I have three dogs of my own, a 5 year old Border Collie (Brady), a 4 year old Border Collie (Poppy) and a 4 year old Australian Cattle Dog (Quinn), and I frequently walk/board over 50 dogs (not at the same time lol). I am always looking for more clients, the more doggy friends the better :) I used to work at two popular doggy daycares in Dartmouth, NS. At the daycares I would have many dogs of all different sizes and personalities in my care. Sometimes the numbers of pups in my care could even reach 100 on a single day! The dogs currently in my care range from tiny Boston Terriers, to Greyhounds and 100 lbs Bernadoodles! So it’s safe to say I’ve got tons of experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds and reactivity levels. I am currently not offering boarding at my home, but I can come and stay at your home and provide the best in-home boarding services around! At home is where your pets are most comfortable and I want to help them have a fun filled stress free time while you are away. I love being active and can adapt to any pups lifestyle. Do they need a longer hike at a nearby trail? A short stroll around the neighbourhood? Want to play fetch in their backyard or a nearby fenced in field? Go for a run at the beach? You can count on me to give your pup the best time. I offer more than what is listed here on Rover, so if you’d like to know more please don’t hesitate to send me a message! Thank you, I can’t wait to hear from you! 🐾 Everything I do everyday is focused on my pet care business. I am 100% committed to giving your pet(s) the best care and attention possible. When I stay at someone’s home to take care of their pets, I adapt to that pups lifestyle to give them the best personalized in-home boarding experience. Whether it is a senior dog who only needs 1 or 2 short walks and then wants to cuddle all day, or an energetic younger dog who needs multiple hours of exercise every day. I love to hike on trails that aren’t well known so we don’t run into other people and dogs, I love to go to the beach! I even take the dogs I’m with to run errands with me if that’s something they enjoy. Because I do this full time, your dog will rarely have to be left home alone. (As long as they are good with other dogs) Otherwise the longest they would be alone is 7 hours, but I can provide drop in visits / walks for them to break up that time.

Liz and Mike dropped in on our kitty Dorito while we went on vacation for a week in Cuba. I contacted them on short notice and they came to my house right away for a visit. We got a great vibe from them within minutes. While we were away, communication was difficult because the app didn’t work in Cuba but Liz did her best to send updates. Dorito was very well cared for and the house was exactly as we had left it. This was my first time using Rover and now we are so grateful we found someone we can trust with our fur baby and our home ! We will definitely be using Liz and Mike for our next getaway.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
