“Louie was the best sitter for my dog while I was away for work , Vasu stayed with louie for 3 days , he’s a little hard to handle boi , but I appreciate her patience and love for him, while trying to make every possible accommodation to suit Vasu’s needs . She did send us regular updates and was very responsive.”
“Milissa and family are wonderful caregivers. She sent me pictures and updates everyday of when we were away so I was never worried about Ollie. We really appreciate the great care they give:)!”

“Ryan was fantastic with our two big rescue dogs while we were on vacation for two weeks. They are usually very nervous around men and it normally takes them quite a few visits to warm up to someone new. They will usually bark at strangers, but Ryan won them over right away. They were happy and relaxed the whole time and very well taken care of. He was quick to respond whenever we wanted check-ins or updates, but he never overdid the messaging, which was perfect. They have even seen him once more since the initial boarding and the dogs were beyond excited to see him again. Total tail wags, pawing for attention, and going in for kisses. You could just see it on their faces. I guess he just has that special touch. He definitely leaves a lasting impression! One of the best sitters we have ever had. Highly recommend and would book him again in a heartbeat. 10/10!”

“Claire is great with our older rescue dog. They’ve become fast friends and he loves spending time at her place while we’re away. She’s super responsive and attentive to his needs. Definitely a go-to pet sitter and pal for us, will definitely be hitting her up again!”

“Leaving our dog Harper is never easy, but this experience made it completely stress-free. From the very beginning, it was clear how caring, reliable, and attentive Marisa was. She went above and beyond to make sure Harper felt safe, happy, and loved, treating her like one of her own. I received regular updates, photos, and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious Harper was having a wonderful time, and I could truly relax knowing she was in such capable hands. I couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter. Marisa’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals shine through in everything she does. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their furry family member. Thank you for making what is usually a difficult goodbye such an easy and reassuring experience—I will absolutely be booking with you again!”

“Kelly was terrific with my dog Hippo. He stayed overnight for several days and she took excellent care of him. She was an excellent communicator. She took him on walks and adventures, above and beyond. She even took my pet sitting request on short notice when my original Rover sitter cancelled last minute. Finding her was our lucky day! Highly recommend Kelly (and Patrick).”

“Greer was amazing with our dog and us. Received multiple updates and pictures during our pets 2 night stay. She was very responsive and accommodating on short notice! Highly recommend!”

“Would 10/10 rebook again! So flexible with what we were planning and Willie had such a great time. They kept us updated with photos and videos the entire time. Made our vacation so much easier!”

“Wow, Courtney was the first Pet Sitter we have ever used and we can't be more satisfied! She took excellent care of our two cats Chili and Pepper. She kept us posted on their days and made sure they had their walks and all the attention they craved. We will definitely hire her again and would recommend her 100%”
“Kelsey did a great job feeding and walking our dog while we were away. It was a bit complex because our dog was in our RV in an RV park, but she figured it all out. She was on time, sent photos, and everything was tidy when we returned. I'd definitely recommend her.”

“Thank you so much Louise for taking care of our furry babies! Louise made the effort to come visit us before watching the house and cats. She constantly sent updates, pictures and kept in touch to ensure everything was going well. We came home to very happy cats! Thank you! ☺️ 🐾”

“Kris went above and beyond for my cat Lucy! Lucy has some medical needs, and sometimes I get nervous to leave her with others. Meeting with Kris reassured me that she knows her stuff (shes also a vet assistant) and her daily updates meant I could vacation stress free.”

“Autumn was great! She’s very responsible and provided my kitty with great care. I could always contact her with questions and she always provided me with sweet pictures of my little guy each visit. I was quite nervous leaving him for the first time for an extended period of time. Autumn put my mind at ease!”

I bring that same level of responsibility and kindness to pet care. I'm comfortable caring for energetic dogs that need regular exercise, as well as senior pets who require a slower pace, extra patience, and close attention. About: Experienced cat owner of three! I’m comfortable with all personalities from cuddly to independent and provide attentive care, clean environments, and engaging playtime tailored to each cat. I’m confident in maintaining consistent feeding schedules, cleaning litter boxes, administering oral or topical medications, and providing enrichment through play.
“Jenna was amazing! You can tell she really loves animals, and does everything she can to make sure they’re loved and taken care of while you’re away. Our cat warmed right up to her and they got along great! Would absolutely trust her with our pets again and would recommend others to do the same!”

“Miranda is the best! We have a very elderly cat and typically when we go away for a few days, we have our neighbors check in on him. However, he demands a little bit more attention and love these days and because we were going away for a full week we thought it best to have one designated person to come in and tend to him. Miranda was absolutely the best choice! She gave us daily check ins and photos and took that worry completely off of our minds while we enjoyed our first sunny family vacation together. 10 out of 10 would recommend to all my friends and will definitely be booking her in the future!”

About: I've had cats and felt a special connection with animals since I was a little kid. Friends, neighbors, and family have relied on me to take care of their pets while they are out of town. I've also been on Trusted Housesitters for more than a year taking care of people's pets.
“We have a very quiet household and our cats are shy of strangers, but Emily did a great job of winning them over. And also managed to get medications done. Quite an accomplishment. When we arrived home after being away a week all was well with the six cats and the house. It was good to be able to relax and enjoy our time away and not have to worry about the critters. I would very much recommend Emily and, though we don’t travel often, we will be booking wilt her again.”

“Ben is so kind and accommodating! When he says in his profile that he loves dogs that is 100% true and accurate! Snoopy absolutely loved his visit and really loved the time he got to spend with new furry friends! Thank you Ben!”

“Greer was very sweet and took great care of Fluff. She provided us with many updates. I don't think Fluffy even knew we were gone. He made himself right at home lol. I would definitely book with Greer again. She was amazing and we were very grateful to have Fluff in such considerate hands.”

About: I have always loved animals since I was a child! I worked as a volunteer dog care attendant with the SPCA for 9 years, and am certified in pet first aid. I also have a background in dog training and have dabbled in various dog sports over the years. Currently I share my home with my pit bull Atlas who LOVES all other dog friends, and my senior cat Kallie. I work from home so I'm able to be with your pet 24/7 during their stay with me! This way they don't need to be alone while you're away. I have a fully fenced yard and a very social pitbull who loves to make new friends and play. I can also offer daily walks while your pup is in my care if desired!
About: We've recently had to say goodbye to our adored 16 year old Miniature Dachshund and our family of four is seeking to share our home and love with other dogs. I am available to care for your dog during the day as I am not working and our two older children are in school. I am often not away from the house for more than 1 -2 hours at a time and I love spending time outdoors. We live in a pet friendly neighbourhood with sidewalks and easy access to both paved and wooded paths near the lake for lots of walks. While our backyards is not fully fenced, we do have a walkout deck and private grassy and wooded area for play and supervised breaks. We have experience with dogs of all ages, including puppies and senior dogs. I would be excited to learn more about your pet and can tailor my care for their unique needs. I am available 24/7 to care for your pet. I can provide undivided attention to your pup during the day and we can offer lots of attention and play given all family members are dog lovers. Typically, someone is always home and if not, we're only away for 1-2 hours at a time. Your pet will have access to our entire house; however, we also have secure gates available should you wish to resist to the main level. We also have a pet stroller should your dog have any mobility issues.
“Natalia was amazing with my dog, Robin, who takes a while to warm up and can be very nervous bc of her past. Natalia was communicative all day, and spoiled Robin, who looked so happy in the photos I received. She has a calm, intentional presence and I knew Robin was in good hands. I highly recommend her.”

About: I've owned and cared for dogs throughout my life, and am currently the proud owner of an 8-year-old beagle, Stella. She's very friendly with lots of friends and playmates, so our home is well adapted to four-legged visitors and guests :) I'm a freelance translator who works from home, with a flexible schedule and generally light workload, leaving me plenty of time to look after other dogs besides my own, including long walks and fun outings to the park. I have a great set-up to board dogs in my home: I live with my dog (8-y.o.) and cat (10-y.o.) in a bright, clean suite with a nice balcony in a very pet-friendly apartment complex in the North End of Halifax. There's a semi-private courtyard out front where dogs like to congregate and socialize, I'm in a very walkable neighborhood close to downtown, the Commons and the waterfront, and I have a safe, reliable car that I use to take my dog and others on fun outings to the park (Point Pleasant Park is a favorite destination). In addition, I'm certified in Pet First Aid by St. John Ambulance (Oct. 29, 2023 - certificate available for viewing in photos).
About: I’ve loved animals from a young age and have hands-on experience caring for a variety of pets, including a puppy, several cats, and even fish both as a child and as an adult. This has helped me understand the different needs and behaviors of animals—from energetic dogs to independent cats and the consistency required for maintaining a healthy aquarium. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy spending time with pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m patient with puppies and can help reinforce basic routines, and I’m equally comfortable with cats, respecting their space while still giving them attention and care. My experience with fish has also made me detail-oriented when it comes to feeding schedules, cleanliness, and maintaining a stable environment—skills that carry over into all types of pet care. I’m reliable, attentive, and committed to following each pet’s routine closely. I also keep owners updated so they have peace of mind knowing their pets are in good hands. I treat every pet like family and focus on creating a stress-free, happy environment for them. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and make it a priority in my schedule. I plan my day to ensure I have dedicated time for feeding, walks, playtime, and general care, so pets receive consistent attention and are never rushed. I’m comfortable incorporating morning and evening routines, as well as check-ins during the day if needed. Whether it’s taking dogs out for walks, spending time playing, or ensuring cats and other pets are fed and comfortable, I make sure their routine is followed closely. I treat pet care as an important and enjoyable part of my routine, not just an extra task. I provide a safe, calm, and pet-friendly environment in my home where pets can feel comfortable and well cared for. I make sure they have a dedicated space to rest, access to fresh water, and a consistent routine for feeding, playtime, and relaxation. I take time to understand each pet’s habits and preferences so I can follow their normal routine as closely as possible. For dogs, this includes regular walks, playtime, and attention. For cats, I ensure a quiet, comfortable space while also giving them interaction on their terms. I’m also experienced in caring for fish, maintaining feeding schedules and a clean, stable environment. Pets are always supervised, and I focus on creating a stress-free atmosphere where they feel safe and at ease. I keep the home clean and organized and provide updates to owners so they know their pets are happy and in good hands. Overall, I treat every pet like family and make sure they receive consistent care, attention, and comfort throughout their stay.
About: Hi there! I'm a lifelong dog lover with over 20 years of experience caring for dogs—not professionally, but personally and passionately. Growing up with dogs taught me that they’re not just pets; they’re family. In 2021, my wife and I brought home our furbaby, Kopi, when he was just a puppy—and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We even brought him with us from the Philippines to Canada because he’s family to us in every way. I walk Kopi three times a day—every morning and twice in the evening—and we run together twice a week (Tuesdays 3K, Thursdays 5K) to keep him active and healthy. He’s potty trained, well-socialized, and loves meeting new furry friends. If your pup needs a walking buddy or a loving companion while you're away, me and Kopi would be thrilled to be your dog’s next best pawwwllls! 🐾💙 You can count on me to treat your pet with the same care and love I give to my own—like family. Just message me and if I'm free, let's make your pup happy! Since I'm already walking my dog(kopi) three times a day, adding another pup to the pack is no problem at all! Walks aren’t just routine for me—they’re a fun, essential part of your dog’s day. I see it as their time to stay active, explore the world, and enjoy meeting (and sniffing!) their furry friends. Whether it's a quick stroll or a longer adventure, I'm happy to match your dog’s pace and energy. Let me know your preferred times—morning, afternoon, or evening—and I’ll do my best to fit it in! You can trust that I’ll treat both with the utmost respect and care. When I’m out with your pup, I always stay alert and mindful of the environment. I carefully observe surroundings to avoid potential hazards and make sure your dog feels safe and comfortable at all times. As a fellow dog parent, I understand how important it is to leave your furbaby in trustworthy hands. You can count on me to care for them just like I do my own—lovingly, responsibly, and with plenty of tail wags.

I’m available for boarding on weekends and anytime after 5PM. I live in a good sized ground floor apartment with access to a fenced backyard with no other pets around. “We could not have been happier with our experience with Daryl! Willie was happy as he could be and I know he received tons of snuggles and had the best day with Daryl. Thank you so much for making our boy feel comfy and safe!”

About: I’ve owned and taken care of many small to big dogs all my life, growing up with animals in the house and around me. Currently I have a cat who is best friends with her golden retriever back home in ontario. I have held my own accountability and taken the responsibility to feed, walk, bathe, and play with my pets everyday because they need enrichment as well. Currently I work at a restaurant working either evening or brunch shifts with a fairly flexible schedule. I’m an early riser and live with my boyfriend who is generally home in the evenings if I am working. Most days I can provide a minimum 1 long and 2 short walks a day if working. If my schedule is open than I generally will find a longer activity to do with the dogs. I have a fenced yard so your pups stay close by when going potty and when I am gone marbles (my cat) will be able to keep them company, if needed i can also crate them. I like to keep my apartment clean so there is never food or a mess for your pups to get into as well.
“We were visiting Nova Scotia from NE Ohio. We were staying in Amherst Shore but visiting the Halifax area and Peggy’s Cove for a day. We couldn’t leave the pup in the camper for that long but needed somewhere for him for a few hours while we went to the Maritime museum. Everything worked out perfectly from drop off to pick up. I felt very comfortable leaving him with Emily and he seemed very happy and comfortable when we picked him up. If we are ever back in the area would definitely consider leaving him with her again.”

“Renita was nothing but wonderful with our pup! She has a very warm presence that helped make him feel comfortable immediately. Renita has a great dog set up at home with access to a fenced in yard. She provides lovely pictures and updates throughout the day. We will definitely be returning soon! Thanks Renita :)”

About: My experience in veterinary medicine, animal care, and behavior has given me a strong understanding of cats' unique needs, personalities, and medical requirements. I am comfortable caring for cats of all ages, from energetic kittens to senior cats requiring extra attention and medication. I also have experience recognizing subtle feline body language and stress signals, helping me provide care that is both compassionate and respectful of each cat's comfort level. As a Fear Free Certified professional, I prioritize creating a calm, low-stress environment and am experienced working with shy, anxious, reactive, or otherwise sensitive cats. Whether your cat is social and outgoing or prefers their own space, I adapt my approach to ensure they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I recently transitioned to a casual position at Lady Hammond Animal Hospital after working there full-time for nearly two years. This change has given me the flexibility and free time to dedicate to caring for your beloved pets and providing them with the attention they deserve. My passion for animal care began long before my veterinary experience, with previous work in dog daycare and grooming environments. What I enjoy most is building relationships with animals and helping them feel happy, fulfilled, and comfortable while their families are away. I have always loved spending time outdoors and staying active. After the loss of my own dog last October, I found myself missing the companionship and joy that comes from sharing walks and adventures with a furry friend. Now that I have the time and availability, I've made it my mission to help provide that experience for pets whose owners may need an extra hand with exercise, enrichment, and companionship. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, playtime, or simply having a caring and knowledgeable companion nearby, I'm happy to tailor my care to their individual needs. With a flexible schedule and a genuine love for animals, I'm always ready for the next adventure. I have extensive experience handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, allowing me to tailor each walk to your dog's individual needs—whether they prefer an energetic adventure, a leisurely stroll, or something in between. My goal is to ensure every outing is safe, enriching, and enjoyable. I drive a spacious SUV with plenty of room to safely transport pets to appropriate exercise and enrichment locations, as well as provide reliable transportation to and from veterinary appointments if needed. I am comfortable caring for pets with a wide range of personalities and needs, from independent animals who require quiet time and space to decompress, to affectionate "Velcro pets" who thrive on constant companionship and attention. My background in animal behavior helps me recognize body language and stress signals, allowing me to adapt my care and provide accommodations that support each pet's comfort and well-being. I have experience with taking dogs for walks and to the dog park where they can be themselves. I'm currently looking after one dog occasionally when the person goes away. So I have alot of time in my day to look after other animals. I own two Huskies but my partner can look after them when I'm away. I always put the dog safety first and make sure they are not getting in anything they shouldn't. On a walk and I see another dog coming I will pull over to one side and let the dogs pass. If you have a dog with anxiety, I will listen to there body language. When they say it's enough it's enough. I will leave or turn around and go home. If they need to decompress I will give them time to do that.

“Greer has been walking Scamp for a while now and she has been amazing!! Always on time and leaves us a rover card with his walk route, pictures, and number of pees/poops. When it was too hot for her to complete an hour walk she came back the next day to make up the time which we really appreciated. Definitely recommend her!”

“Experience with Ben was great. He is quite responsive with communication on Rover. He is friendly and obviously loves dogs as he has a few small cute ones of his own, and welcomed Toby with ease. Toby fit in well and had loads of fun. Ben also sent several pics and a video of their time together”

“Emily was great walking Austin for a couple of evenings when we were tied up. She was quick to respond to our last minute request. She was very punctual and Austin had great walks with her. Thanks Emily!”

“Trish is the best sitter we've ever had! We boarded Krypto for 3 days which became 4 due to unforeseen circumstances and Trish was lovely about everything. She treated Krypto like family and is our goto now. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend her services”

“Would 10/10 rebook again! So flexible with what we were planning and Willie had such a great time. They kept us updated with photos and videos the entire time. Made our vacation so much easier!”

“We had a great experience with Thiago and Nicole! They looked after our boy Bhoora for a full week and took really good care of him. He came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs they watch. We really appreciate their kindness and would definitely trust them again in the future.”

“Colin was an absolute dream! Extremely personable and accommodating of all of our dog’s needs. He was very committed and engaged to providing great care for Pickles with daily activities. Thanks Colin!!!”

“It was our first time using Rover. Meaghan and family were amazing dog sitters and welcomed our golden retriever into their home with open arms. Our girl loved hanging out with their dogs and cat, was taken on many walks, and rides for treats. She had a blast! Communication was excellent with photos throughout the boarding. Thank you, Meaghan! 🐕 ☺️”

“Renita and Jerry are wonderful people who clearly love dogs and love taking care of them! We left Joey with them for over a week, which felt like a really long time, but Joey settled in quickly and seemed to really enjoy his stay. He was well cared for, exercised regularly, spoiled and loved, which was totally fine with us! She sent pictures every day of some of the things Joey was up to. This really put our minds at ease knowing he was happy and being cared for. We would highly recommend Renita to look after your pup! Thanks Renita!”
