I am comfortable and capable with large barnyard animals to the smallest of household pets. I have been an animal lover and caregiver for my entire life. Now that I am retired, I am thrilled to devote my time to being with animals. I enjoy caring for them in their own home. And I have a secure fenced backyard for doggy guests. I am able to stay with them for added security and attention. I've been a hobby farm owner, worked on a farm, have had the joy of loving many animals. I am very fit and love taking pets for walks , playing in backyards or resting and relaxing with senior pets. I work from home most days, which allows me to give pets lots of attention and keep a consistent routine. I’m home Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and weekends, so your pet will have plenty of company throughout the day. On Wednesdays, I’m in the office, but I’m located very close to home and can easily come back for check-ins, walks, and care as needed. Overall, I have a flexible schedule and can adapt to your pet’s routine to make sure they’re comfortable, well cared for, and never left alone for long. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a pet-friendly apartment on the main floor, which means quick and easy access to the outdoors for bathroom breaks and walks—no long waits or elevators needed. We’re also located near great off-leash parks and walking areas, perfect for getting in lots of exercise and fresh air (always based on your comfort level and your dog’s needs). Inside, my home is clean, calm, and set up to be a safe, cozy environment where your dog can relax and feel at home. About: I have had a special place in my heart for animals of all kind my whole life. I have a dog and three cats of my own and I have dogsat for friends and family on many occasions for prolonged periods. By day, I am a Pharmacy Technician, which means I’m patient, empathetic, and have medical experience (I’m very comfortable administering medication and injections). I work full time but I have the time to give your pet quality time and attention, walks, bathroom breaks, and whatever other special care they might need. I’m experienced with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and kitties of all attitudes. I will make sure your pet is cared for in the way that they’re used to being cared for so they feel comfortable and you feel at ease knowing they’re in good hands. For winter walks, I follow a safety-first policy. If sidewalks are icy, there is freezing rain/sleet, or conditions are unsafe for walking, I may need to cancel or reschedule. I’ll always give as much notice as possible.

About: I've been loving on and taking care of pets since I was a little kid. I could immediately tell she was a dog lover !! She was great with our first meet and greet to make sure that our dog wasn’t anxious around her and she made sure we spent a decent amount of time letting him get comfortable with her. The day of her first drop in visit she was great to update me and let me know when she was headed over. She made sure he peed and had lots of water on a very hot day. I recently graduated from the Masters of Wildlife Biology at the University of Guelph and am now back living in Nova Scotia full time. Throughout my degree, I worked at the Guelph Humane Society as an animal care attendant, and worked at a wildlife rehabilitation center for the last 5 summers, as a wildlife care technician.
