“Jasper loves his new friend! From the first time he met Lori he was a happy boy. So grateful that Lori is willing to hang out with our sweet gentle giant. Great communication and loads of pictures. He was still ready for a snooze even after we arrived home.”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I recently said goodbye to my two senior pets, my sweet greyhound and my talkative Siamese/Himalayan mix, who lived to 14.5 and 17. After years of loving and caring for them, I find myself missing the daily rhythm of walks, meals and quiet cuddle time. That’s why I’ve joined Rover: to share my time and care with other people’s beloved pets. I’m experienced with senior animals and pets with special needs. I’ve helped with mobility issues, administered oral medications, applied ointments, and handled daily routines with gentleness and patience. I’ve also walked and cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments including golden retrievers, border collies and amstaffs. So I’m comfortable adjusting to different personalities and energy levels. Along with my personal experience, I’ve also provided pet sitting and drop-in visits for friends and family over the years, caring for both dogs and cats of all ages. If you’re currently working on training, I’m happy to help support your efforts by providing consistent, positive reinforcement during our time together. I believe in treating every pet with kindness, patience, and encouragement. I work in communications and marketing. With a hybrid work environment, I have the flexibility to support your pet’s needs. I’m dependable, communicative, and committed to making sure both you and your pet feel supported. Happy to offer meet & greet at your home (if it’s for drop-in service), parks and public spaces to ensure you and your pet are comfortable with me.
“Jenna is not only super friendly and flexible but she LOVES dogs. You can tell by the way she will show not only your dog having a great time but your dog having a great time with her. I had to find a last minute sitter for my dogs the night before to look after them so I could leave them uncreated at home alone for a few hours. I was happy to come home to a clean house, happy dogs and had great communication through the whole visit and so many amazing photos I got to show all my coworkers! I HIGHLY suggest Jenna to anyone looking for a sitter and a best friend for your pooch ?”

“Jiaxin is an awesome pet sitter! Very good communication, always on time (very organized), and provides reliable updates. Thanks Jiaxin! It is really nice to know my cat will get good care when I'm travelling.”

“Kate is so good with my high energy dog Ella. She is very responsive and sends the best updates :) I don’t have to worry about Ella when I’m at work because I know she’s in great hands with Kate. Would definitely recommend to anyone!”

“Daryl is fantastic! He cared for our cat while we were away on our first big vacation after adopting our cat. Daryl is very quick to respond and thoughtful. We greatly appreciate the amazing care he took of our girl. We can't recommend him enough!”

About: I grew up with two labs and a little grey cat, as well as the bonus cats I was in charge of feeding whenever my neighbours went out of town. I don't have any pets now, but I love to go for big walks and would love to have some company on my little neighbourhood outings. I'm currently a graduate student with a flexible schedule. I am available for walks on weekdays in the early mornings or evenings, and on weekends. I can pick your dog up from your home for walks. I prefer to keep to the sidewalks and groomed walking trails. I am comfortable with large dogs as well as small ones.
“Shana is the Best!!! She was very helpful with our Cat “Tukker’s”special feeding schedule. We received photos and updates on each visit she had with him and she made sure that everything we had asked was done. I would highly recommend her if you want a person who is understanding of your pets needs and also the pet parents. We will definitely be asking her again for her drop in services in the future. Thanks again Shana”

“Keisha was awesome with our bonded pair of skittish kitties. I had her come in once a day for four days. Loved getting the report card every day with pictures and knowing how much of their food they ate, how much they interacted, etc. This was my first time using Rover, and she made me feel fully comfortable with using the platform and leaving my little guys in her capable hands. Thanks, Keisha!”

“Jaiden was so good with our cat scout. Scout normally has a hard time adjusting to new places but she was so at home with Jaiden purring and even making biscuits by the second day! Would highly recommend!!”

About: Lifelong dog lover and proud dog mom to my Australian Shepherd, Pepper 🐾 My home is calm, cozy, and very dog-friendly. I work from home, so your pup will get plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day—no long hours alone. I’m experienced with daily routines, walks, playtime, and making sure each dog feels comfortable and cared for. I’m happy to care for puppies (with all the patience and consistency they need!) as well as senior dogs who may need a gentler, more relaxed approach. Whether your dog is energetic and playful or prefers to cuddle and relax, I’ll make sure they feel safe, loved, and right at home. I work from home most days, which allows me to give pets lots of attention and keep a consistent routine. I’m home Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and weekends, so your pet will have plenty of company throughout the day. On Wednesdays, I’m in the office, but I’m located very close to home and can easily come back for check-ins, walks, and care as needed. Overall, I have a flexible schedule and can adapt to your pet’s routine to make sure they’re comfortable, well cared for, and never left alone for long. Your dog’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I live in a pet-friendly apartment on the main floor, which means quick and easy access to the outdoors for bathroom breaks and walks—no long waits or elevators needed. We’re also located near great off-leash parks and walking areas, perfect for getting in lots of exercise and fresh air (always based on your comfort level and your dog’s needs). Inside, my home is clean, calm, and set up to be a safe, cozy environment where your dog can relax and feel at home. I’m attentive, responsible, and always mindful of each dog’s routine, safety, and well-being.
“Hailey was phenomenal!! She saw how much help we needed as she was watching our dogs Duke and Daisy and stepped up to the plate during my bridal shower! I forgot to give her treats and toys, but she was fully prepped and read the room with what we needed. Highly highly recommend!!”

About: I'm here to give your furry family the care they deserve, especially while you’re away which can be stressful for both sides. I grew up with dogs so am familiar with their needs and I'm currently a cat-mom. Since I was 9 years old, neighbours trusted me to visit their homes for pet care while they were traveling. As for your pet's routines, you can trust I won’t miss a feeding time, potty break, or belly rub session. Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Dartmouth
Erica took great care of our cat during her drop-in visits while we were away. She was reliable and communicative, and we really appreciated the updates and photos, which gave us peace of mind knowing our cat was in good hands. We would happily book with her again!

This was my second time booking with Hayley and Lucy, and once again it was a great experience! They took wonderful care of my babies, followed all of my care instructions, and provided lots of pictures and detailed updates throughout the stay. Knowing they were so well cared for gave me real peace of mind while I was away. I would absolutely recommend Hayley and Lucy to anyone looking for reliable and caring pet sitters, and I will definitely book with them again!

If I could give Shana 10 stars I would. She is the best, she is so understanding and compassionate when it comes to your pets care. She knows how to make a person feel so comfortable in leaving their pet in her care. Our cat Tukker is my wife’s fur baby and is very particular about who takes care of him while we are away, and knowing that Shana is their for Tukker makes her feel so relaxed that she can enjoy her vacation time, without any worries. Thanks Shana you are the best, and we can’t say enough great things about you. She is an animal person and a people person and understands everyone’s needs. You are in Professional hands when she is taking care of your pet. I highly recommend her.

As always, Steph was amazing with my 2 cats while I was away on vacation. One of my cats was recently diagnosed with asthma and Steph is the only sitter I’ve had that she won’t hide from, so I was eternally grateful that she was successfully able to administer her puffer each visit! Having Steph take care of my babies puts me at ease as I know they are well taken care of ☺️

I recently relocated here and had a family emergency that required I fly out as soon as possible. Kate was so accommodating, understanding and kind throughout the process. She provided drop in care for my cats and my dog boarded with her. The photos she sent during the period were a great comfort to me during a difficult time. She has experience caring for both cats and dogs and it was clearly evident. When it came time for my dog to return, I could tell that my dog really bonded with her, which was really good to see. I was a little worried my dog might be anxious and reactive on walks as everything here is new to her but she had even settled down some on walks after she returned. I have no hesitation recommending her pet care services.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
There are 475 sitters on Rover for Pet Sitting in Dartmouth. About 87% of Dartmouth sitters can respond to requests in under 60 minutes. Whether you’re planning ahead for holidays, need last-minute care, or need same-day coverage for an urgent trip, you can message multiple sitters at once to find available care.
Once you find the right match, you can arrange a Meet & Greet to ensure they are a perfect fit for your pet’s personality before confirming.
A pet sitter can provide focused care sessions, help your pet’s routine stay on track, or keep you updated on your pet’s mood and energy levels.
Whether you’re at the office for the day or travelling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer poop breaks during a Dartmouth stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover based on what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
You can coordinate how much supervision you want directly with your sitter. While every sitter’s schedule varies, here are some examples of supervision by pet care service:
- Boarding or doggy day care: Many sitters can provide frequent companionship because they design their day specifically around the pets in their care or work from home.
- House sitting: Your sitter generally stays in your home for the requested duration, which may include overnight care. They may step out briefly to visit other pet clients, but your home remains their primary base.
- Drop-in visits or dog walking: These can be scheduled in 30- or 60-minute windows (and can be shorter or longer at your request) to help your pet receive dedicated attention and care during those specific times.
Interested in constant or 24/7 care? This service often incurs an additional fee but many sitters are happy to discuss this option with you.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dartmouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
