About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I had a greyhound 🐕and a Siamese/Himalayan mix 🐈 who lived to 14½ and 17 years old. After saying goodbye to my two senior pets in 2025, I joined Rover to share my time and care with other people’s beloved pets. Since joining Rover, I’ve enjoyed building relationships with both pets and their owners. I know how important it is to provide reliable care, clear communication and regular updates, so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands. I’m experienced with senior animals and pets with special needs. I’ve cared for pets with mobility issues, administered oral medications, applied ointments and handled daily routines with gentleness and patience. I’ve also walked and cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including Golden Retrievers, Border Collies and AmStaffs, so I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities and energy levels. In addition to dogs and cats, I also ride and care for horses. Working with a 1,000-pound animal has taught me the importance of patience, consistency, clear communication and building trust—qualities I bring to every pet I care for. If you’re currently working on training, I’m happy to support your efforts by reinforcing your dog’s routine using positive, reward-based methods. I believe in treating every pet with kindness, patience and encouragement. I work in communications and marketing. With a hybrid work environment, I have the flexibility to support your pet’s needs. I’m dependable, communicative and committed to making sure both you and your pet feel supported. For returning clients I can sometimes accommodate last minute requests. Happy to offer meet & greet at your home (if it’s for drop-in service), parks and public spaces to ensure you and your pet are comfortable with me.
“Cassie was great with my 11 year old Golden Retriever! She was very flexible with schedule and very reliable. Cooper absolutely loved her and was so happy to see her every visit. Would definitely recommend :)”

“Wren is wonderful. Lola, our dog connected with her immediately. One can tell Wren loves animals. Wren is great with communicating with me about Lola’s walks and our dog walking schedule. This is the first time I’ve used this app to find a dog walker. I highly recommend this app and very much Wren.”

“Ronan seems to really taken to Michelle and she does a great job I’m looking after him before during and after the walk. I do recommend Michelle to others and we will continue to use her in the future.”

About: Hello everyone! I am a 30 year old living in Halifax, Nova Scotia - however I am from Newfoundland originally. Unfortunately for me, my two family dogs are in Newfoundland with my parents (they are both husky-lab mixes!) While they are getting spoiled at home, I miss them dearly, and would love a chance to spend quality time with your pet! I have experience with mainly dogs and cats, of all sizes, abilities and needs. Animals are truly a form of therapy to me, and I would love to be a part of caring for your animals needs! I currently work full time M-F 7:30-3:30. I am looking for part time work to keep me busy and fill my heart with happiness! I can’t think of a better way to spend my extra time than walking and caring for your loved pet! I have lots of walking trails near my home and happy to customize my walk based on you and your dogs preferences (walk, run, park walk, hike, park lounging, etc.)
“Jaime was great with walking my dog! She answered promptly, was great at communicating including letting me know when she picked up her and feedback on the walk itself. Will be hiring her again!”

“Buddy wasn’t up for his usual walk today. He doesn’t seem to care for the heat and we’ve been outside with him all week so he may be a little sleepy. Buddy has never had a lot of stamina. A few minutes of playing outdoors or the zoomies with crazy running is all he wants other than his walks.”

“My dog loves Erica so much. He actually smiles like the joker face in all the pics. He rolls on his back, belly up smiling ear to ear in the fields and fluffy powdery snow of the year. I wish he smiled this much for our walks. This tells me that he has a special bond and each morning before I leave for work I say her name and he knows today is going to be the best.”

About: I have plenty of hands-on experience caring for dogs through my own 5 year old Cavapoo, as well as regularly watching friends’ dogs. I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes, personalities, and energy levels, and I love giving them plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and cuddles! I work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and am around throughout the day to give dogs plenty of attention and care. I’m able to provide regular walks, playtime, bathroom breaks, and lots of company, making sure they feel comfortable and loved while you’re away. I live in a dog-friendly apartment close to several great parks and walking spots. With a little dog of my own, I know all the best places nearby for walks, playtime, and getting some fresh air. Your pup will have a comfortable, dog-friendly home base with plenty of opportunities to get outside and explore!
“Kaleigh is amazing, she ensures Fitz is well cared for and loved. She takes Fitz on different adventures throughout the week to changes things up for him! We’re so lucky to have her as our dog walker :)”

“Gigi takes such great care with my friend, Qwyn! I love her updates & photos. My dog is enjoyed; this is a bg deal to me, especially when I am not well right now. Thank you, Gigi!!”

About: I treat every animal like they're my own. From the age of 6, I have always been in a multi-dog household. As a child, I quickly learned the duties of taking care of an animal. As an adult, I have owned 3 dogs at once - I currently have 2 dogs, 2 cats. I have experience taking care of fish and small pets as well. I have supported dogs recovering from surgery and can provide basic aid. I have volunteered with animal shelters previously. I also have taken care of family and friends' animals while they are away before. I provide loving pet care from someone who gets it - because I'm a pet parent too. I am self-employed and therefore my schedule can be flexible. I'm looking to add to my days and make some new fur friends. I can work around what you are looking for. Due to the nature of my other job, I am professional and respectful when it comes to someone's home. I provide the same care to your animal as I would to my own fur family.
“For a few months, Jillian walked my dog, Ellie, while I was at work during the day. She is a genuinely kind and caring person who my dog fell in love with. She is an amazing communicator (really put me at ease) and made coordinating everything so easy. We were so lucky and grateful to have you as our walker!”

“Emily was great walking Austin for a couple of evenings when we were tied up. She was quick to respond to our last minute request. She was very punctual and Austin had great walks with her. Thanks Emily!”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Dartmouth
Cassie was wonderful with our dog, Jojo! We hired her for twice-daily walks over the long weekend, and Jojo was always so excited to see her—she would leap right into Cassie’s car, ready to go! Despite the torrential rain all weekend, Cassie was a real trooper and always gave Jojo her full walk, often staying out even longer than expected. She is sweet, reliable, and clearly loves dogs. We would absolutely hire her again!

Kateryna did a wonderful job with my pup. He was completely smitten with her at the meet and greet! Her communication is great as well --letting me know she had arrived a little earlier than planned (which is completely fine!). Thank you for doing such a great job!!

There are only positive things to be said for Dana. She’s so consistent, there is never an issue. She told me over a month in advance when she’d be out of town for a few days, she’s great with my reactive dog, and she’s lovely to deal with. I recommend her whole heartedly.

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! Jillian was reliable, communicative, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I received updates and photos after each walk, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. My dog came home happy, tired, and excited to see her again each visit. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable and caring dog walker!

Rhea is responsible and my dog likes her very much and goes off with her happily. Rhea is exceptional in that she does not count the minutes and seconds of her time with the dog and if my dog is not quite ready to come back in, she will accomodate. I recommend her without any qualms whatsoever.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dartmouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
