About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I recently said goodbye to my two senior pets, my sweet greyhound and my talkative Siamese/Himalayan mix, who lived to 14.5 and 17. After years of loving and caring for them, I find myself missing the daily rhythm of walks, meals and quiet cuddle time. That’s why I’ve joined Rover: to share my time and care with other people’s beloved pets. I’m experienced with senior animals and pets with special needs. I’ve helped with mobility issues, administered oral medications, applied ointments, and handled daily routines with gentleness and patience. I’ve also walked and cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments including golden retrievers, border collies and amstaffs. So I’m comfortable adjusting to different personalities and energy levels. Along with my personal experience, I’ve also provided pet sitting and drop-in visits for friends and family over the years, caring for both dogs and cats of all ages. If you’re currently working on training, I’m happy to help support your efforts by providing consistent, positive reinforcement during our time together. I believe in treating every pet with kindness, patience, and encouragement. I work in communications and marketing. With a hybrid work environment, I have the flexibility to support your pet’s needs. I’m dependable, communicative, and committed to making sure both you and your pet feel supported. Happy to offer meet & greet at your home (if it’s for drop-in service), parks and public spaces to ensure you and your pet are comfortable with me.
About: An experienced dog parent and pet carer offering loving home-from-home care in spacious quarters. Skilled in training and grooming, caring for dogs (and cats) with regular supervision and plenty of love, attention, companionship and reassurance throughout the day. Bonus: Grooming offered! Even for fussy dogs... Whether your pup needs a fresh trim, a long stretch of the legs, or a cozy home-away-from-home, I’ve got them covered. Reliable, local, and truly dog-obsessed Pet care is a natural part of my everyday routine. I’m home throughout the day, which allows me to provide consistent attention and supervision. Pets in my care enjoy regular opportunities for bathroom breaks, as well as a daily afternoon walk of about 60 minutes to keep them active and engaged. In the evenings, they’re included in family time, ensuring they receive plenty of companionship, comfort, and affection. I tailor my pet care to each pet’s individual needs and the specific service requested. In my home, pets are treated like part of the family, with a safe, comfortable and spacious environment to explore, regular toilet breaks, daily exercise, and plenty of attention and affection. I maintain their usual routines as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any special care instructions with emphasis on keeping their routine consistent and as stress-free as possible in the new environment
About: I have had my own dog, Bear, for 10 years. He’s a highly excitable beagle-dachshund mix! As a university student, I’m always looking to give back to my community in the summers. I’d love to help out my fellow pet-lovers by ensuring their dog gets their needs exceeded while feeling comfortable and loved. With a flexible schedule and calm demeanour, I can help unload the stresses of life by giving your dog the care they deserve🐾 From July-August I have a highly flexible schedule. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily life as a student since my summer-job has come to a close and school does not begin until September. I can help at those difficult times when both work and your dog need attention at once. I will always take the time to learn the precautions you have set up for your dog, whether that be fencing, gates, crates, or a designated play area. You can trust me to respect any special requests as I understand the needs dogs sometimes require. My own dog is on daily medication and requires mobility assistance for stairs.
About: I have experience with dog sitting a dog with anxiety and able to give medications. Also have experience feeding dogs raw food. Plus I have two Huskies of my own that I raise from puppies. I have experience with taking dogs for walks and to the dog park where they can be themselves. I'm currently looking after one dog occasionally when the person goes away. So I have alot of time in my day to look after other animals. I own two Huskies but my partner can look after them when I'm away. I always put the dog safety first and make sure they are not getting in anything they shouldn't. On a walk and I see another dog coming I will pull over to one side and let the dogs pass. If you have a dog with anxiety, I will listen to there body language. When they say it's enough it's enough. I will leave or turn around and go home. If they need to decompress I will give them time to do that.
“Kate is awesome! They are friendly, communicative, reliable, and very good with our pup. They helped with dog sitting when Petunia was a very young puppy and was super helpful in ensuring consistency in her care and training. They also take P on walks regularly and I’m grateful to have someone we can trust with our dog and in our home.”

About: I welcome all dogs into my home,. Small, large, energetic and subdued. Growing up with all different varieties of dogs has given me a confidence when dealing with all sorts of behaviors. I can relate to them, and be sure I'm giving them the care they need, where it be a run in the woods, our a casual walk around the neighborhood. I also volunteer at the SPCA as a dog companion, which has given me the opportunity to learn from my peers in all sorts of animal behavior. You can count on me to give your dog the attention they deserve. I also have an 8 year old Siberian Husky, who loves other dogs if they would like a playmate. If your dog is more into relaxing alone, that's also no problem. I currently work from home, so you can rest assured your pet will have companionship, 24/7. I like to fit in at least three walks a day, depending on your dog's needs. I have a fenced yard, where your dog can move freely and get familiar with their new surroundings. I also make a point to always dedicate a safe, private space in my home for my dog guests, where they can relax, and feel safe.

About: Hi, we’re Hayley and Lucy! We recently moved to Halifax and are offering pet care in HRM. We are proud pet parents to our two cats, Waluigi and Tiggy. We have almost 20 years of combined experience caring for pets, including cats, dogs, and small animals. Between us, we have extensive experience with feeding, administering medications, cleaning litter boxes and cages, and making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. We’ve lived with cats, rabbits, hamsters, and birds, giving us hands-on experience with a wide range of pet needs, routines, and personalities. Originally from Ontario, we understand what it’s like to not always have a large support system nearby when you need a helping hand. We hope to make life easier for pet parents by providing reliable and compassionate pet care support, whether that means checking in on your pets while you’re away, caring for your pets during vacations, or helping with dog walks while you’re at work! Between the two of us we have lots of flexibility to accommodate different routines. We have a car and can come to you on weekdays and weekends. Open availability on Fridays and weekends and available for walks and check-ins through Monday-Thursday in the mornings and evenings. We’re comfortable adapting to the pets needs and making them feel the most safe and comfortable by treating their space with respect and following their lead. We’re used to meeting and building rapport with new animals regularly and like to adjust our care based on owner/caretaker comments and instructions and the pets energy levels and demeanour.
“Emily was great walking Austin for a couple of evenings when we were tied up. She was quick to respond to our last minute request. She was very punctual and Austin had great walks with her. Thanks Emily!”

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog received! Jillian was reliable, communicative, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I received updates and photos after each walk, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. My dog came home happy, tired, and excited to see her again each visit. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a dependable and caring dog walker!

Rhea is responsible and my dog likes her very much and goes off with her happily. Rhea is exceptional in that she does not count the minutes and seconds of her time with the dog and if my dog is not quite ready to come back in, she will accomodate. I recommend her without any qualms whatsoever.
Libby was a joy to coordinate with for dog-walking! She was on time and highly communicative, and was patient when Caid had moments of reluctance in leaving the house. He came back nice and tired out from a good walk, and it seems like they developed a great bond. I highly recommend Libby's services :)

Wren is wonderful. Lola, our dog connected with her immediately. One can tell Wren loves animals. Wren is great with communicating with me about Lola’s walks and our dog walking schedule. This is the first time I’ve used this app to find a dog walker. I highly recommend this app and very much Wren.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Dartmouth choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
Yes, you can find walkers who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
