“Ben is attentive and Red my greyhound was treated like his own. I got pictures and updates throughout the day and a report card on the walks and meals and this is a professional approach to this business. I would highly recommend Ben. He is warm and caring and trustworthy.”

“Victoria was great with my dog Izzy! I contacted her last minute and she was super responsive and accommodating. Izzy just had surgery so she needed some special attention and was very well taken care of while I was at work. Highly recommend :)”

About: Since I started this beautiful profession, I knew this was what I knew how to do best. The commitment I give when I care for a dog is 100%, which allows me to build trust with the client. My key is to always stay in touch with the dog or cat's owner, which is why I always send photos and videos so that both the owner and the dog feel comfortable under my care. I dedicate a lot of time to dog care because I only study in the mornings, which leaves me with a large portion of the day free to dedicate to this. Weekends are days when I could dedicate my time to them. Since I live in an apartment, the pets that stay with me here have the freedom to roam anywhere in my home, and I give them the option of sleeping with me or wherever they choose, as long as they're under my supervision. Every day, while they're in my care, they have set playtimes where I can play with them or walk them, according to the owner's specifications. Depending on the service they require.
About: I've owned and cared for dogs throughout my life, and am currently the proud owner of a 7-yo Beagle, Stella. She's very friendly with lots of friends and playmates, so our home is well adapted to four-legged visitors and guests :) I'm a freelance translator who works from home, with a flexible schedule and generally light workload, leaving me plenty of time to look after other dogs besides my own, including long walks and fun outings to the park. I have a great set-up to board dogs in my home: I live with my dog (7yo) and cat (10yo) in a bright, clean suite with a nice balcony in a very pet-friendly apartment complex in the North End of Halifax. There's a semi-private courtyard out front where dogs like to congregate and socialize, I'm in a very walkable neighborhood close to downtown, the Commons and the waterfront, and I have a safe, reliable car that I use to take my dog and others on fun outings to the park (Point Pleasant Park is a favorite destination). In addition, I'm certified in Pet First Aid by St. John Ambulance (Oct. 29, 2023 - certificate available for viewing in photos).
“Justin checked in with me multiple times throughout the day, sending a few photos and provided updates on my dog Luna. Luna definitely was well taken care of and is happily snoozing by my feet after a great day out (bonus fetch!). Will be booking with Justin for a 4 night boarding stay for Luna in the future and I am extremely confident that she will be well cared for and provided lots of attention. Thanks so much!!”

“Audrey was very kind and caring with our Husky, Estelle. We were visiting our family in Dartmouth and we could not bring Estelle on some of our day trips. Audrey was very considerate, taking good care of Estelle and even bringing her to the lake to cool off when it was too hot. We would definitely book again with Audrey!”

“Miriam is an excellent caretaker of my bog dog, Trigger. Triggs has anxiety and can't really be left alone, he was content and happy to spend the afternoon with Miriam while we had an opportunity to visit Halifax and take in some of the sights. Definitely looking forward to having Miriam watch Trigger agin in the future!”

About: I’ve taken care of countless pet breeds and have developed a deep love for wanting to understand these tremendous animals. I enjoy caring after hygiene and having a fun (and safe) time with the fur babies. I’m currently working part-time on the weekends before returning to University in the fall. This gives me plenty of time throughout the week to devote to practical pet care activities. I have a fenced backyard with a considerate amount of space. Very open concept floor plan within the house as sharp edges like tables/chairs, furniture are not an issue.
About: Originally from Belfast, Northern Ireland. I emigrated to Canada in 2020. After spending a few years in Toronto, I moved to Halifax in February 2025. If you take your dog(s) to Point Pleasant Park, there's a good chance that you have bumped into me and my little black Patterdale Terrier (Calvin) already! I've been around and looked after dogs most of my life. Growing up, I had a Border Collie and looked after my uncle's German Shepherd, and whenever we go home to my in-laws' house, I love spending time with their huge Golden Retriever. Calvin and I are enjoying exploring Halifax and the surrounding areas. Calvin is very friendly and loves the company of other dogs. I offer dog boarding and daycare services. I have a seasonal job (April to December) where I work from home. There is a degree of flexibility with my job, so I can nip out with the dogs for frequent potty breaks if necessary, and can take them out in the car to somewhere they can run around and get some exercise before and after work, (if your dog has poor recall, I have an extra long training leash). During the winter months, I will be available for dog walking services in addition to boarding and daycare. When staying with us, be it for boarding or daycare, rest assured, your dog will be well looked after. There will be a good walk each morning and early evening. During the day, there will be lots of playtime, cuddles, physical and mental stimulation (and potty breaks if necessary). I am not a professional dog trainer, but I do enjoy the training process. If there is something that you are working on with your dog at home, let me know about it (what your goal is, what command/signals you use), and I will try to continue the training during the stay. Do not be surprised if your dog needs a good snooze after leaving our care! Lol.
“Kara was incredibly accommodating and so kind to our pup. She was able to look after our dog at the last minute when someone else cancelled due to illness. She took great care of Fig!”

Dartmouth dog parents share their Rover experiences
Jessica was so great with Finn! We recently moved to the area so he was under a lot of stress and he was pretty anxious at drop off. She took him for a walk and gave him lots of cuddles which really soothed him. Finn was thrilled to go back the next day! Jessica was really great at communicating and drop off/pick up times were super flexible.

Carolina is a dream! She LOVES our pup like she’s her own and she’s always so excited to see Fig when we arrive. Between the playtime Fig gets with Carolina’s own dog, Arthur, and the plentiful walks (3 today!), our pup always comes home tired and happy. We couldn’t ask for a better “home away from home” than Fig has with Carolina!

Ben was absolutely amazing. My partner and I were travelling through Halifax and needed a few hours of dog care while we did some sightseeing that wasn’t dog friendly. Ben was quick to respond, and easy to make arrangements with. From start to finish, Ben provided expert service and care, and shared lots of photos of the doggos so I could rest at ease knowing they were in good hands. Thank you again Ben!

Peter was wonderful with Ella! It was my first time leaving her with someone she wasn’t familiar with but she took a liking to him very fast and felt comfortable with him! I felt comfortable leaving her with him, he gave me updates throughout the day and was overall a very pleasant experience. I highly recommend him to any pup parent! :)

Tyler was an amazing dog sitter for my pup, Digby! He kept Digby happy and cared for while I was in a course all day, and his dog Beau was the perfect playmate. I came home to a tired and content dog—highly recommend Tyler to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!
