We will definitely book Ross again for future trips and would highly recommend him.”

“Sara has provided cat sitting services to me twice now. Both times she was absolutely amazing. My cat Nala loves her company. Sara is reliable and great to work with. Last time I had booked her, one of my flights was delayed by a day, and she was flexible and kind enough to do additional visits with Nala until I was able to get back. She is my go to now!”
About: I’ve grown up with dogs and starting dog-walking for neighbours at a young age. Frequently entrusted to dog-sit for friends and family. Currently I own one cat. Currently I am available both AM and PM on weekdays and weekends. Right now I am working part-time remotely so my schedule is quite flexible! I live near a park that is great for daily walks with dogs. It has an off-leash area if that is allowed for the dog.
“Loren was great! She kept us updated the entire time and our boy Duke felt right at home. He’s a big boy and she handled him perfectly. I would very much recommend her for your pup!”

“Rowan is absolutely awesome with our girl. Our poodle has lots of energy and requires a confident caregiver . Rowan is very reliable, respectful and knowledgeable. Highly recommend!”

About: Hi! My name is Sofia and I am in my fourth year at Dalhousie. I have grown up around pets my whole life and absolutely love every animal. My family dog Liam, who was a mastiff passed away this most recent summer and I miss him dearly. I am down for anything when it comes to dogs. Whether that’s a casual walk, a hike (as I have a car), a fetch on the beach, and always some furry friend snuggles! My experience with dog sitting goes back to grade 8. Growing up in a small mountain town I would dog sit for family friends, coworkers and teachers. I love being around pets and it makes me happy when dogs are comfortable, happy, and feel safe. My most recent experience was dog sitting in the valley for an English Mastiff. I feel comfortable with every size of dog and as long as they are happy I am happy. I am a trusting, reliable, caring, and dog loving individual. I love having a furry companion by my side and providing it with the best care possible so that you can enjoy your time away without having to worry about your baby. Since the passing of my 11 and 1/2 year old mastiff, I thought this would be a good way to still have fur babies in my life:) As I am in my fourth year at Dalhousie, I do have classes however my schedule is quite flexible this semester. I am always available Thursday through Sunday. My main focus is always making sure the pet is comfortable. I make sure to not overwhelm the dog and slowly introduce myself so that they are comfortable with me. I am very attentive to there emotions and needs and make sure they are always looked after.
“Kara is very kind, and she is a natural with dogs and we were so relaxed having her housesit for our 9 year old dachshund. She was great to send us updates and I felt so secure having her there with him. Thank you, Kara!”

“Vixie did an exceptional job looking after a Triscuit! They kept me up to date with pictures and messages. He had a great night playing and cuddling with Vixie. Will absolutely book again!!”

About: Since I started this beautiful profession, I knew this was what I knew how to do best. The commitment I give when I care for a dog is 100%, which allows me to build trust with the client. My key is to always stay in touch with the dog or cat's owner, which is why I always send photos and videos so that both the owner and the dog feel comfortable under my care. I dedicate a lot of time to dog care because I only study in the mornings, which leaves me with a large portion of the day free to dedicate to this. Weekends are days when I could dedicate my time to them. Since I live in an apartment, the pets that stay with me here have the freedom to roam anywhere in my home, and I give them the option of sleeping with me or wherever they choose, as long as they're under my supervision. Every day, while they're in my care, they have set playtimes where I can play with them or walk them, according to the owner's specifications. Depending on the service they require.
About: Hi! I’ve been living in Nova Scotia for 5 years now and have recently lost my 16 year old dog, Layla, and am missing having a furry friend around. I’ve always been a dog person, and have signed up to host and sit dogs in my spare time. I’ve spent a lot of time house sitting over the years also so don’t mind sitting both your house and your dog while your away as well! Cheers I work Monday through Thursday in the office form 8:30-4:30. Then work from home on Fridays. You doggo would need to be okay being alone for 8hrs while I’m at the office M-Th. Otherwise I’ll be with them! I have an apartment in Halifax (with stairs) and a cottage in musquodoboit harbour so depending on the day or the needs or you and you dog, there are lots of options!
“Naomi was a wonderful house sitter for our nervous dog. She really gave her the space she needed to gain her trust. Naomi followed all our care instructions and left our house very tidy. We would definitely book with her again!”

“We couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter during our wedding! Cassandra and Mark took amazing care of our two dogs, Duke and Daisy, making sure they were comfortable, happy, and well-loved throughout the day. They kept us updated with frequent check-ins, which gave us peace of mind while we enjoyed our special day. It's clear that they genuinely love animals and went above and beyond to ensure our pups were safe and content. We highly recommend Cassandra and Mark to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring dog sitter!”

“Julia was prompt in responding to our needs & there for us her calm manner made it a perfect fit for my rescue dog that has epilepsy that requires home stays & medication administration. I am so glad we used Julia we will be using her again! We finally were able to go away with no worries having Julia tend to all our pets 1 dog & 3 cats. & also provided us with photos of them all relaxing at home was so glad to see them in good hands. ?”

About: I have dog shelter experience from 2018 (for 1 year) and I've been volunteering at the SPCA in Dartmouth since January 2024. I'm trained to understand dogs behaviours and needs. I grew up with small breed dogs, but I have the time, patience, and energy to work with any breed. I have dog-sat for neighbours and family members over the years, and I regularly walk my neighbour's pitbull. I'm able to brush, trim nails, and administer medication by request. *As of Sept 30th I will not longer be taking dog walking requests. Drop-ins and overnights will be limited to the Dartmouth area only* I'm self employed and make my own schedule. I usually only work 4-5 hours in the afternoons so I'm free most mornings and evenings to care for your pets! I will follow any rules and diet you have in place pertaining to your home and pets. Your privacy and your pet's well-being are always my top priority.
Dartmouth pet parents share their Rover experiences
Niambh was amazing, so VERY happy we were able to have her spend time with Frasier. Niambh was flexible when our plans changed, and clearly bonded with Frasier, which was so important. Knowing Niambh is around, we feel much more comfortable making plans that do not need to include our Scottie.

Ariana was so great with our cat, who can be a little nervous around new people! She was super lovely, responsive and left our house really clean after her stay. Our cat was happy and relaxed when we got back after our trip, and we really appreciated the updates Ariana gave while we were away.

Rhiannon was absolutely wonderful with my 2 furbabies! We were away for 10 days and we knew they were in good hands. She followed their routines, sent us frequent pics and updates, and most importantly gave them lots of cuddles and playtime! Rhiannon is definitely our first choice when our girls need a babysitter again🐾🐾

I am very happy Jaiden looked after our dog for a couple of days when we were out of town. She did a meet and greet a couple of times beforehand and even accompanied us on a walk with our dog. She provided us with regular updates while we were away and really cared for our dog. We are grateful. I would highly recommend her services.

Brianna is an amazing sitter! She sent me lots of photos of Johnny on a daily basis and kept his water fountain fresh and litter box. She kept me updated when Johnny didn’t eat one of his meals. Having her here to hang out with Johnny was great peace of mind during my trip. She also left my apartment in excellent condition! Thanks Brianna!

Victoria was a wonderful sitter, especially with my larger cane corso. She was very patient when first meeting Rylo as he is more guarded and anxious when introducing him to new people. If you have a bigger dog or more reactive dog I would highly recommend Victoria :)

Jaime was a wonderful pet sitter! Communicative, thorough and my pets definitely loved her! Coming home to a clean (better than I left it tbh) home with happy and tired pets was such a joy after flying all day. I recommend Jaime whole heartedly and will certainly ask her to watch my Duck and Goose in the future! Thanks Jaime ❤️

Mckayla has repeatedly taken care of my senior dog and she is so kind, caring and attentive to all his needs - and making sure that I know exactly how he’s doing and what’s been going on. He needs a lot of attention these days and I feel so calm knowing McKayla is with him, because I know she’ll take great care of him.

ELLEN WAS FREAKING AWESOME!!! My dogs absolutely loved her. She walked them a few times a day and made sure their needs were met daily. She slept at our place and she was extremely neat and tidy and overall, quite great! I'd get her again any time! And kept us updated all the time, which I love!
