About: I’ve always been attuned to animals, often preferring their company to humans. I grew up knowing all the dogs along my street. My first job was at the local animal shelter. I’ve pet sit for over a decade and recently become a volunteer with Elderdog Canada. I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to do more long-term house stays, giving plenty of time to animal care and companionship - should they want it. I ask that owners share their routines and any quirks about their pets or living spaces to help me adjust to the animals needs and routines. I am comfortable having velcro animals who love attention as well as those who may need more space or time to adjust.

About: I've been surrounded by pets my whole life. My sweet pup Beans trained me very well before he recently passed. I routinely care for other people's pups when they are out of town of if their pet requires a reset in a quiet place with a routine to feel confident and content. I also volunteer with ElderDog supporting seniors' dogs with walks and care. I am trained in dog and cat first aid, I feel comfortable with animals of all ages, administering medications, and adapting routines as your pet may require. Dogs are family in this house, they're welcome anywhere the humans are and have easy access to the backyard for bathroom breaks, zoomies, sniffing, or sunbathing. I work from home on a flexible schedule so your dog can enjoy their regular adventuring and snoozing routines with plenty of attention. I have a spacious, detached home and private yard for your pup to relax and play in. If provided, I can ensure any crate training you are working on remains consistent. Otherwise, there are many pre-puppy-approved resting and playing areas for your dog to discover and enjoy. I have a car and can get your pet to care in case of an emergency. I will ensure that feeding, medications, and special instructions are incorporated and that you are updated with photos so you can see their sweet little faces enjoying their stay! I am available throughout the day should you have any questions or want to receive more information.

About: I have 18 years of experience caring for cats, dogs, fresh water fish and a red slider turtle. I am great with skittish cats and high energy dogs. I could improve my understanding of senior dog care. I enjoy caring for pets around my work schedule. Morning, afternoon and evening walks help provide structure and exercise for pets and humans alike. I enjoy interacting with pets during the day when I am present. I firmly believe that pet parents are the ultimate authority on their pet. My first strategy to ensure your pet’s safety is to ask lots of questions about your routines and boundaries before starting a placement, and to follow your instructions. My second strategy is to follow best practices. For example I ensure there are two barriers between your pet and the outside world whenever possible.

I’ve also cared for a dog with serious health issues, in my own Home at a vet clinic and at animal shelters. so I’m comfortable paying close attention to their needs and noticing when something seems off. About: I know the essentials of dog care. I’ve lived in a home with a dog for a little over 12 years as an adult. I had the privilege of having my first pup Cooper, raising and training him. From this experience I learned some essential on senior dog care. He requires specialist veterinary care. I have also learned a lot from a family member who works in animal medicine I’ve gone through the incredibly cute puppy phase of training both of my pups. I use positive reinforcement always. Both my dogs thrived with this training and turned out well mannered but still have fun. With any dog I’ve had or looked after, I know exercise is essential. Of course the amount is breed dependant. The two pups I’ve had are high energy breeds, a husky shepherd mix and now a black Labrador. The saying indeed does ring true “a tired dog is a happy dog” I am currently available during the days and early evenings. I have a vehicle but live outside of HRM. It’s best for both people to have advanced notice to insure I can accommodate the request. I care for every pet with patience, kindness, and attention to their needs. Just like people no two dogs are the same. I would want to speak with you to make sure I understand what your furry friend requires to make it as stress free for them. I provide a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of love, supervision, exercise, and positive attention. I make sure your dog feels secure, happy, and well cared for while they’re with me.

About: I’ve taken care of dogs for others since I was a kid. I had my own dog for 8 years which sadly passed away this year. I now became a cat dad due to work related schedules. I will take care of your pet as if they were my own. My job is usually a 9 to 5 schedule, therefore I am free most nights of the week and I am always available during weekends. I always make sure to adhere to the owners direction for their furbaby. Each pet has their own personalities and preference so I make sure to listen, to reassure them that I have their pets best interests. I like to know what their pets personalities so I can better understand on how to make their furbabies comfortable in my care.
