“Courtney takes great care of our girls! They are always excited so see her. She kept them exercised and happy, even through the big snow storm this week! Our senior dog and boisterous dog are both in great hands! Knowing that Courtney is taking care of the girls makes it easier to be away from home.”

“This was our first time using Rover, and Ross was amazing with our dogs while we were away. We were so pleased with his daily updates and cute pictures that it gave us peace of mind knowing that our pets were in such great care. We came home to happy dogs and a clean house. We will definitely book Ross again for future trips and would highly recommend him.”

“Kathleen was so amazing and collaborative! Such great care for our girls and shared lots of photos so we could see they were well taken care of. We really appreciated the communication and flexibility!! She is awesome!”

“Louise was wonderful! Regular check-ins and photos were sent, even ones of our dog who wasn't ready to be her friend! The house was exactly as we left it and the dogs were happy!”

“Cleah looked after our two dogs while we were away and she was amazing! She was easy to contact, always answered promptly and kept us updated when needed. She cuddled our doggies in the evening and we knew they were in good hands! Highly recommend Cleah and will definitely want to hire her again!”

“I was very anxious with all my dogs medications to use someone we didn't know to take care of Luna, but Julia did a fantastic job. I really appreciated the picture updates:)”

About: My experience in veterinary medicine, animal care, and behavior has given me a strong understanding of cats' unique needs, personalities, and medical requirements. I am comfortable caring for cats of all ages, from energetic kittens to senior cats requiring extra attention and medication. I also have experience recognizing subtle feline body language and stress signals, helping me provide care that is both compassionate and respectful of each cat's comfort level. As a Fear Free Certified professional, I prioritize creating a calm, low-stress environment and am experienced working with shy, anxious, reactive, or otherwise sensitive cats. Whether your cat is social and outgoing or prefers their own space, I adapt my approach to ensure they feel safe and comfortable while you're away. I recently transitioned to a casual position at Lady Hammond Animal Hospital after working there full-time for nearly two years. This change has given me the flexibility and free time to dedicate to caring for your beloved pets and providing them with the attention they deserve. My passion for animal care began long before my veterinary experience, with previous work in dog daycare and grooming environments. What I enjoy most is building relationships with animals and helping them feel happy, fulfilled, and comfortable while their families are away. I have always loved spending time outdoors and staying active. After the loss of my own dog last October, I found myself missing the companionship and joy that comes from sharing walks and adventures with a furry friend. Now that I have the time and availability, I've made it my mission to help provide that experience for pets whose owners may need an extra hand with exercise, enrichment, and companionship. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, outdoor adventures, playtime, or simply having a caring and knowledgeable companion nearby, I'm happy to tailor my care to their individual needs. With a flexible schedule and a genuine love for animals, I'm always ready for the next adventure. I have extensive experience handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments, allowing me to tailor each walk to your dog's individual needs—whether they prefer an energetic adventure, a leisurely stroll, or something in between. My goal is to ensure every outing is safe, enriching, and enjoyable. I drive a spacious SUV with plenty of room to safely transport pets to appropriate exercise and enrichment locations, as well as provide reliable transportation to and from veterinary appointments if needed. I am comfortable caring for pets with a wide range of personalities and needs, from independent animals who require quiet time and space to decompress, to affectionate "Velcro pets" who thrive on constant companionship and attention. My background in animal behavior helps me recognize body language and stress signals, allowing me to adapt my care and provide accommodations that support each pet's comfort and well-being. I am also experienced with a variety of feeding routines and dietary requirements, including veterinary prescription diets, medication administration, food allergies and sensitivities, and raw feeding protocols. I understand the importance of maintaining your pet's established routine and will ensure they receive consistent, attentive care while you're away.
“Kina was very communicative, sent lots of updates and pictures. She was at our place for just under a week and left it in great shape. Would definitely ask her to look after our cat again.”

“Jacques stay at our house to look after our two golden retrievers, Daisy and Rufus, and our bearded dragon, Spike. He did a wonderful job maintaining the dogs’ comfortable daily routine, and we really appreciated the daily updates that showed how well everyone was doing. When we got home, the dogs were happy, calm, and perfectly themselves— a good sign of the quality care they received. It was so reassuring to know they were in capable hands while we were away. We would absolutely recommend Jacques to anyone looking for a reliable, thoughtful pet sitter, and would be very happy to have him back again.”

“So grateful Sarah was available to stay with Parker and MJ! This was the second time house/pet sitting for us. She also saved me big time as I didn’t plan my booking properly to coordinate with the travel needed to get home from Nfld. It ended up in a last minute asked if she could extend care for one more night. Thank Sarah! Parker and MJ had a great time I’m sure. 💛”

“Kelsey was absolutely wonderful with Gertie. Photos and updates on how she was doing. My mind was at ease with Kelsey here for the 4 nights and the house was left in tip top shape. Thanks again!!”
“Jasper was a life saver! She was flexible in working with me for a last minute stay with my dog Ted, and took very good care of him, providing me with regular updates and pictures of their walks.”

About: I have had newfies and cats since I was a baby and have grown up taking care of pets. Over covid I got to train my parents 6 month old Newfie puppy, and since moving to Halifax I have gotten a super chatty Siamese cat who I am not allowed to stop talking to (she wont let me)! I have gotten to look after so many cats and dogs for friends and roommates and no matter if they're a couch dog or one who likes running, I'll be happy to make sure they're having fun and well fed! I work a very flexible job at a local bike shop so I'll always be able to make sure theyre well walked, fed, and exercised! With later morning starts I always start my day with some exercise so I would love a fuzzy friend to accompany me! I am vigilent about safety and am always making sure pets cant get into food, are watched well when playing, and that the spot their playing in is safe!
“Emily once again took great care of our feline friend over the weekend. Excellent communication, lots of photos, and super professional. Thanks again for giving us such peace of mind and providing our cat with terrific care!”

“Chloe took great care of our girls. When we arrived home after being away they were relaxed and happy, and completely unphased that we'd been away. Chloe's updates are fantastic! On top of keeping the girls exercised and well taken care of she takes great photos too!”

“Mallory did an excellent job with our anxious labradoodle Bindi while we were away. Mallory also left our house clean and tidy. We have already booked her again for a longer sitting and we would highly recommend Mallory to anyone looking for a dog/house sitter!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - ColeRidge Estates
Courtney was fantastic! She took excellent care of our pets and home while we were away and was very accommodating when we ran into unexpected travel delays. It was the longest I had been away from my pup and I was so nervous but Courtney sent pics and updates, and I felt so relieved knowing she was with a loving human! I will absolutely work with her again!

Our family had a wonderful experience with June. Our dog, Koa, can be slightly reactive, and June was so patient and confident with her — she was clearly very happy and enjoyed plenty of walks and adventures while we were away. Our cat also seemed very content and comfortable spending time with her. A few. happy kitty! Coming home to a clean and well-cared-for home was such a nice bonus after our trip. June was reliable, caring, and attentive, and we felt very at ease knowing our pets and home were in good hands. We would absolutely recommend her and wouldn’t hesitate to have her back again when needed.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in ColeRidge Estates on Rover is $77.7 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in ColeRidge Estates maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Garbage & recycling: Taking garbage bins to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred ColeRidge Estates walking routes, the location of your favourite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in ColeRidge Estates choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
You can find what you need to review a sitter on their profile before booking with them. Each sitters’s profile on Rover shows verified reviews, identity check, and ratings to give a glimpse of how their previous visits went. You can also use the Meet & Greet to walk through your home, identifying which areas, like your bedroom, are off-limits or not. Requesting details of your home security through the app can also be a good way to have your sitter keep you updated about your home.
If you have security cameras or doorbells, Rover asks that you disclose them to sitters before you book.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a veterinary professional or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means Rover Support will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 73% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
