“I was away for a couple of weeks and needed someone to help taking care of my cat. Jesalah is so great with him. Communication was clear and prompt. Definitely recommend her service!”

About: From a young age I’ve always had a passion for animals and providing proper care. From dogs to hamsters and others in between. At my family home I’ve taken care of upwards of 9 pets. I’ve also babysat overnight my boyfriends two shih tzus. I’ve been a sitter on Rover in Wolfville for a year now, but I moved back to my hometown. I am currently working full time at Jollytails! I am free for dog walks in the evening & can do over night stays on the weekends. My shifts are quite long (10 hours) so it makes overnights more difficult during the week as I wouldn’t want to leave your fur baby for that long! Unfortunately I can not offer at home boarding as I live at home with 4 cats. I’m willing to come to your home to do overnight stays and I have a car as well to take your dog(s) for drives to parks/lakes.
“Jasper took wonderful care of my cat Honeybun while I was away! They really went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and comfortable. Even going so far as to check in with me about Honeybun’s favorite toys and leaving the TV on for him when they realized he enjoys watching videos on it. I’d highly recommend Jasper as a pet sitter!!”

About: Hello, thank you for taking a look at my profile! If you are looking for someone who is responsible, knowledgeable, honest, compassionate and Pet First Aid certified to look after your pets, please continue reading and send me a message. I can’t wait for us to get to know each other better! My name is Chloe, and I would love to be your dogs next best friend! I have three dogs of my own, a 5 year old Border Collie (Brady), a 4 year old Border Collie (Poppy) and a 4 year old Australian Cattle Dog (Quinn), and I frequently walk/board over 50 dogs (not at the same time lol). I am always looking for more clients, the more doggy friends the better :) I used to work at two popular doggy daycares in Dartmouth, NS. At the daycares I would have many dogs of all different sizes and personalities in my care. Sometimes the numbers of pups in my care could even reach 100 on a single day! The dogs currently in my care range from tiny Boston Terriers, to Greyhounds and 100 lbs Bernadoodles! So it’s safe to say I’ve got tons of experience with dogs of all sizes, breeds and reactivity levels. I am currently not offering boarding at my home, but I can come and stay at your home and provide the best in-home boarding services around! At home is where your pets are most comfortable and I want to help them have a fun filled stress free time while you are away. I love being active and can adapt to any pups lifestyle. Do they need a longer hike at a nearby trail? A short stroll around the neighbourhood? Want to play fetch in their backyard or a nearby fenced in field? Go for a run at the beach? You can count on me to give your pup the best time. I offer more than what is listed here on Rover, so if you’d like to know more please don’t hesitate to send me a message! Thank you, I can’t wait to hear from you! 🐾 Everything I do everyday is focused on my pet care business. I am 100% committed to giving your pet(s) the best care and attention possible. When I stay at someone’s home to take care of their pets, I adapt to that pups lifestyle to give them the best personalized in-home boarding experience. Whether it is a senior dog who only needs 1 or 2 short walks and then wants to cuddle all day, or an energetic younger dog who needs multiple hours of exercise every day. I love to hike on trails that aren’t well known so we don’t run into other people and dogs, I love to go to the beach! I even take the dogs I’m with to run errands with me if that’s something they enjoy. Because I do this full time, your dog will rarely have to be left home alone. (As long as they are good with other dogs) Otherwise the longest they would be alone is 7 hours, but I can provide drop in visits / walks for them to break up that time.

I am happy to accommodate your schedule as needed and be flexible. I go on various work trips that will be communicated through my calendar. I understand different pets have different needs. “Kathleen is best in class for your professionalism, care and attention she offers our Cairn Terrier. We have booked Kathleen several times and will be rebooking again soon”

About: What sets me apart is my attention to detail and commitment to following your pet's routine. I have two cats, one of whom has asthma and requires an inhaler twice a day, so I'm comfortable administering medication and keeping a close eye on pets' health and well-being. I also grew up with dogs and have experience caring for a variety of personalities and energy levels. As a CPA, I'm organized, dependable, and take responsibility seriously. You can trust that I'll follow your instructions carefully, show up when expected, and provide updates so you know your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for. Caring for animals is already part of my everyday life. I have two cats of my own, including one who requires daily medication, so feeding, monitoring health needs, and sticking to routines are things I do every day. Adding dog walks and drop-in visits to my week is something I genuinely enjoy. I love spending time with animals and understand how important it is for pets to have consistent, reliable care while their owners are away. When caring for pets in a client's home, I aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible. I'll follow all feeding, walking, medication, and care instructions carefully while making sure your pet feels comfortable and cared for in their familiar environment. During visits, I'll make sure pets have fresh food and water, clean up any messes, provide playtime and attention, and monitor their overall well-being. For dog walks, I'll tailor the pace and length of the walk to your dog's age, energy level, and needs. I'll also provide updates and photos so you can feel confident that your pet is happy and in good hands while you're away.

“I was initially nervous about leaving my cats in someone else’s care, but Cassandra quickly put my mind at ease. She is incredibly responsible and a fantastic communicator. Throughout my time away, she provided regular updates, photos, and thoughtful details about how my cats were doing, which really helped me relax. It was clear from the start that Cassandra genuinely cares about animals and takes her role seriously. My cats were happy, well-fed, and comfortable when I returned, and I could tell they had been in great hands. I highly recommend Cassandra to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and caring cat sitter!”

“First time using Rover. Wasnt sure at first if it was legit. Sanjana eased our minds and she was excellent. She took very good care of our 2 cats. She kept in contact every day while we were away, and sent pictures. She responded quickly when we reached out to her and she asked questions when needed. We highly recommend Sanjana to pet sit for anyone in need.”
About: As an animal lover with experience working in veterinary clinics, humane societies and a wildlife rehabilitation center, I’m an experienced sitter for any pet! I recently graduated from the Masters of Wildlife Biology at the University of Guelph and am now back living in Nova Scotia full time. Throughout my degree, I worked at the Guelph Humane Society as an animal care attendant, and worked at a wildlife rehabilitation center for the last 5 summers, as a wildlife care technician. I personally have a love for small critters - especially rabbits, rats and reptiles, and am more than happy to discuss drop-in for any “exotic” pet! I’m now running my own small business for the summer months, which means my hours are very flexible and I work from home! Feel free to reach out with any questions you may have :) I am a small business owner which means my schedule is very flexible and I work from home! My roommate and I used to do Rover together before she moved, so you may see her name (Brianna) in some of our reviews. Feel free to send me a message regarding scheduling to see if I’m able to fit your pet into my day! For dog walking, I am able to walk around your neighborhood but I also have my own car so could take your dog to a different area if you prefer!
About: I am a life long animal lover who currently has a dog, Olive, and a cat, Feta (can you tell my better half is Greek?!) I am available for drop ins and walks- with or without my pup Olive. Whatever is best for your dog. I love to go hiking and can take your dog on or off leash in lots of beautiful trails around HRM. If walks in your neighborhood or dog parks are better for your dog we can do that too! I am also available to drop in on your kitties! I can’t wait to meet you and your fur babies. I am currently on maternity leave and so I have lots of availability. If it’s a weekday I will bring along my 9 month old in her carrier. On evening and weekends I will come alone. I have used rover both as a dog walker and as a dog owner. I know how much trust it takes to leave your pets with someone else. I will take care of your pets as I would my own.
About: I grew up with animals and had a yellow lab who was my best friend until she passed away two years ago. I miss her deeply, and caring for animals has always been a big part of my life. I go on long walks every day anyway, so I’d love to have a furry companion to join me. I also have a huge soft spot for cats and enjoy giving them the care and attention they deserve. Whether it’s walks, playtime, or simply making sure your pets feel loved while you’re away, I look forward to making them feel safe, happy, and at home. I work at a nonforprofit community space and my schedule depends on if we're in program or not. Most of the time I work Mon-Fri 9am-4pm, when im in program I work random Wednesday or Thursday evenings from 1:30pm-8:30pm with a few Saturdays here and there. At home, my cats are spoiled in the best way. They have an automated litter box, deck time three times a day, and regular brushings every few days. I feed them little extras like pumpkin purée, sardines, and tuna to keep them happy and healthy, and I’m diligent about clipping their nails so they’re always comfortable. Sometimes I even head home on my lunch break just to check in and give them extra attention because I miss them! I bring that same level of love, care, and commitment to every pet I look after, making sure they feel safe, adored, and part of the family.
About: I'm Michael. I live in a one-bedroom basement suite. I have a well-behaved and-trained 11-years-old male border collie (neutered). He helped many puppies learn how to socialize. I sometimes dog sitting my friends' dogs. I also coach people how to communicate with their dogs instead of just simply "traditional training." I let my dog out often since he is a senior dog (I do not want him to hold urine too long). I walk him every day if the weather is permitted. Your dog MUST be vaccinated and has flea prevention treatment (documents are required to show me when we meet). Your dog also should be well-house trained and is being able to socialize with other dogs. I work from home most of the time. I only need to go to my office at SFU once per week on Tuesdays and I take my dog to my office as well. If your dog is okay being around people, I could do that too.
About: I’ve had family dogs my entire life! I currently have a one year old puppy, Romeo. He’s extremely friendly with other dogs and loves to play! Because of this, I’ll only be accepting friendly, playful medium or small sized dogs right now. I work Monday to Friday but I am available on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) to look after your dog while you are away/unavailable! I am happy to dedicate my weekend to helping out your dog (walks, feeding, playing) I have a fenced in yard that is great for dogs! Lots of room to run around and very safe! I will send lots of pics of all the fun your dog and Romeo get up to :) Romeo is more than happy to share his toys so there is lots of fun to be had!
About: Hi, I love caring for dogs while their owners are at work/vacation and sharing pictures of their day with their family with regular check ins. Im home 24/7 so will be able to spend time with your pets all day if they wish! I’m available for extended house sits. I love to help out and have the family relax while they are away. Communication is important to me and I don’t mind answering all the little questions. I can help with basic training, puppy raising and setting strong foundations for a happy, healthy family pet member of the household. If you’re not looking for basic training but just to make sure your dog has a great vacation while you are away that’s great too! Monitoring Canine Body language is very important to me as well as positive and force free techniques for training and husbandry. I have a 6 year old chill Shiba Inu, Pixel, but our pets can be separated with double gates if preferred, but he does get along with all properly introduced dogs. I do agility, confirmation (dog shows), nosework and trick training with Pixel. I love the challenge in building a trusting and fun relationship with a primitive breed. I am an experienced raw feeder and happy to feed any food of your choice. Please feel free to message with any questions you may have, looking forward to meeting you and your pets. I’m available 24/7 so am able to keep to any scheduling your pet needs. Medications, walks, meals can be set to your schedule always. Please let me know if any special requests. I like to keep to your family’s schedule while I’m caring for your pets. Walk at 5am? No problem! 4 walks a day? No problem. Just let me know your preferences. I also like to provide picture updates regularly and do not mind if you message me a lot while you miss your pet, I would too!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
