About: I am a member of LGBTQ+ and I absolutely love animals. I was raised with a golden retriever and a puppy mutt! I have experience training dog and dealing with puppy messes! I would love the opportunity to care for your animals. I will treat them with care and compassion, as if they are my own! A little about me: I currently work as an energy consultant. I just bought a house and in this economy I need a lil extra cash. I am interested in clean/renewable energy and making a positive impact on the environment! In my spare time I enjoy going on hikes, or walks around Point Pleasant Park and the Dingle. I enjoy the outdoors and nature very much and can't wait to bring your doggo along for the walks! I work a hybrid job. Some days I'm on site and some days I work from home. I mostly know my schedule ahead of time. I have a whole two level home with a back yard that has been dog/cat proofed. I would love to take care of your pets and listen to every instruction you give me.

Brooklynn is amazing! You can tell how much she likes doggies. Rusty knows the time of his walks and he gets really excited to go. Brooklynn has been great helping us with Rusty’s walk after his lunch, we know he is being taking care off and she tells us about his little progress every day. Definitely recommended.

About: I was raised with dogs - pugs (my parents spent some time breeding them), a Beagle, a Pointer, and finally a Lab. We also had a cat, and a rabbit! My parents had dogs for 35-40 years, and so I literally grew up taking care of dogs, including puppies while we were breeding them. After I left home, my parents would get me to dog-sit if they were going away. As an adult, I have had other types of animals as pets, such as hamsters, rats, and small lizards. I have gone several years without having pets. In order to still get my furbaby cuddles, I started pet-sitting several years ago. I have looked after larger, active dogs (Husky, Pitbull, Great Dane, Mastiff), as well as smaller dogs, cats, and even a bird. I have also regularly house-sat a non-pet house that the owners don't like leaving empty if they go away for more than a couple of nights. I have also fostered cats a couple of times for extended periods of time until they could find a furever home. I can stay in your home, or just do drop in service once a day to feed your cats or other pets, scoop litter, and water plants if needed. I can also stick around for an hour or two to offer ear scratches if appropriate :) I am now retired and can stay anywhere within 50km of the city, and can stay with them any day - morning, afternoon, or evenings and on weekends/holidays if you are closer and you are just looking for somebody to come in for an hour or 2, to take your dog for a walk or to check in on your cat. Furbabies are an important and much-loved part of your family, and I will treat them as such! I will follow whatever instructions you provide. If your dog likes to go for walks, I will take them for long walks either in your neighbourhood, or I will put them in my car and go to one of my favourite parks for an hour or two. I will not let them off leash unless they are in a fenced area. I am now retired, and will stay with your pets full time while you are away, except for when I need to go to the grocery store or I have an appointment. If you only require drop-in service, I can do that morning, afternoon, or evening. I do not care for pets in my own home. Pets are most comfortable in their own home, and so that is where I prefer to care for my clients' pets. I ask that you write down their regular schedule (feeding times and amounts, any medication schedule, etc) so that I can follow it as closely as possible.

About: Having had pets for my entire life, from hamsters, birds, cats and dogs - I've got lots of experience to help your pet - be it going out for a walk or snuggling up at home. I've got lots of experience walking bigger dogs as well as little pups. My energy meets your pet's, and I can be very energetic with a more active pet but can also be really calm with a more mello pet. I think animals are the best, and often prefer to spend time with them than people sometimes. I can guarantee that your pet will be given the best care possible and will be given lots of attention and love. Looking forward to getting to know you more, please reach out if you have any questions! I work from home as an engineer, and go on frequent walks to get in my daily steps so if needed, I could accommodate frequent walks but my flexible schedule also allows me to meet your pets needs at any time of the day. We ensure that our home is safe for pets by not keeping any house plants that could be harmful to pets, by working with the client to understand all of the needs for the pet whether its dietary, medical or anything else! I'm keen to ensure that the pet has attention throughout the day, and is the happiest and well cared for. If the owner likes, I'm happy to share pictures, videos and take video calls throughout the day.

About: I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since I was 12 years old and have always grown up around animals. I have experience with puppies, senior pets, and cats, including those who need medication. I’ve walked dogs for others and understand how important patience, routine, and trust are for animals. I love spending time with pets—whether that’s going for long walks, playing, cuddling, or simply keeping them company so they feel safe and happy while you’re away. I currently work part-time, so I have a flexible schedule and plenty of time to care for pets. I’m available for check-ins, walks, or overnight stays in your home depending on what works best for you and your pet. While I don’t host animals in my own home, I’m happy to come to yours to make sure your pets are comfortable, cared for, and sticking to their usual routine. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and routine are my top priorities. When caring for pets in their own home, I make sure they feel relaxed and secure by keeping their normal schedule for feeding, walks, playtime, and rest. I love taking photos and sending regular updates so you can see how your pet is doing while you're away. I know how important it is to have peace of mind when someone else is caring for your pet. I also have a car, so if your dog is comfortable riding in a vehicle, we can go on fun outings to local parks or even quick trips to the pet store for extra exercise and enrichment. I treat every pet like family and focus on creating a calm, safe, and loving environment while you're away.

About: I have a passion for pets and years of experience - I've had my own cats, dogs, and rodents, and done a lot of petsitting, including long-term sits abroad. I'm currently accepting longer term (2+ weeks) sits in Halifax. I'll take care of your pet and home as if they were my own. I'm new to Rover so don't have reviews here yet, but am happy to share my profile on Trusted Housesitters and AirBnb and to provide references. Je parle français aussi! Y un poco de español :) I work from home so will be there most of the day to give your pets the company, attention, and care they deserve. I can accept pets for boarding who are able to be on their own or rest quietly while I am in online meetings. My schedule is variable and I can schedule walks/drop ins/care in morning, midday, or evening hours. I have a small backyard and enjoy going to for walks to the nearby parks and trails. I can board small sized dogs in my home.

This was our first time using Rover, and we had to book a last minute dog sitter for our honeymoon weekend. Taylor was quick to respond and offer her services to checkin and walk our dog while we were away. She was so kind and accommodating to our needs, and made sure Buddy was comfortable each visit, and provided picture updates. We were able to enjoy our weekend away stress free and came home to a very happy dog. Highly recommend!

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
