About: Hey I’m Courtney. I’m a mama to a Boston terrier. I always had a dog growing up and I’ve taken care of dogs for as long as I could remember. (Both small and large / seniors, puppies) I currently work part time so I have lots of availability. I can pet sit at your house or mine , drop in for feedings or take them for walks. I know how hard it is to leave your baby with someone new but I will take care of them as my own and keep you updated along the way. The safety of your dog is my Number one priority.
“Just hired Mallory to look after our dog Lillith during my vacation over Christmas holidays. There was a week of in house and then a week of drop in visits. We met before we left so Lilly could get to know her and show her around. She was the perfect fit! She is pleasant and reliable and sent daily updates. House as well as my dog was well cared for. My fish were also attended to and when my tank filter stopped working while i was away she contacted me and went to store and replaced it for me! She is very mature for her age and down to earth. It has been a pleasure to get to know her and she is now newest member of my family :) Highly recommend without reservation that Mallory can look after your pets. Thank you Rover”

“Delightful! Wonderful personality! Kind to my animals and very respectful in my home! You would be stupid not to reach out to her! Thank you soooo much!!!! You made my holiday better!”

About: I have loved animals for as long as I can remember, I grew up with dogs and cats always in the house. They became my best friends and as I got older I realized that nothing would make me happier then getting to work with animals everyday. I started my own dog walking and sitting business when I was 18. I ran this for several years, earning the trust of countless people to enter their homes and care for their animals. Now 10 years later I have decided to get back into pet care. I am so excited to meet you and your pets! I know we will get along great. I have been working as a Registered Massage Therapist for the last 3 years but recently I have been experiencing pain due to the nature of my work. So I am stepping away from massage to focus back in on pet care as a full time passion. So I have plenty of time through the days evenings and weekends for whatever pet care services you require. My animals have always been treated like my children and your animals would be no exception to this. I look forward to learning their unique needs and the best ways to connect with them.

“This was our first time using Rover and to say we were nervous with trusting our kitty with somebody was an understatement. We met with Llana and she immediately put us as ease on how she interacted with our cat. She went above and beyond in the 3 visits and we only wish we met Llana sooner!! Thank you so much, we would highly recommend Llana!!”

About: I have had my own dog, Bear, for 10 years. He’s a highly excitable beagle-dachshund mix! As a university student, I’m always looking to give back to my community in the summers. I’d love to help out my fellow pet-lovers by ensuring their dog gets their needs exceeded while feeling comfortable and loved. With a flexible schedule and calm demeanour, I can help unload the stresses of life by giving your dog the care they deserve🐾 From July-August I have a highly flexible schedule. Pet care fits perfectly into my daily life as a student since my summer-job has come to a close and school does not begin until September. I can help at those difficult times when both work and your dog need attention at once. I will always take the time to learn the precautions you have set up for your dog, whether that be fencing, gates, crates, or a designated play area. You can trust me to respect any special requests as I understand the needs dogs sometimes require. My own dog is on daily medication and requires mobility assistance for stairs.
About: I have cared for, and trained, dogs from 5 weeks old to seniors . I have provided medication when needed to not only my own dogs but others when required. I will walk/ exercise your pets as if they are my own or as you request me to do. I will love your dog as if it were my own. I work for HRCE so I’m off all summer and available to take care of your pet anytime between 7am and 9pm if it’s a check in or walk. I will treat your pet and your home as if it were my own. I will play with and feed your pet according to the schedule set by you (the owner), give love and attention, if they are a cuddly pet. I have a small, very friendly, dog (22lbs) that I would bring with me to your home as he can’t be left without me.
“We are so very pleased with Kathleen’s service and care! She visited our 3 cats, and our hamster while we were away, and kept our minds at ease in her reliable communication and check ins with us. We’ll be booking with her again!”

“I was initially nervous about leaving my cats in someone else’s care, but Cassandra quickly put my mind at ease. She is incredibly responsible and a fantastic communicator. Throughout my time away, she provided regular updates, photos, and thoughtful details about how my cats were doing, which really helped me relax. It was clear from the start that Cassandra genuinely cares about animals and takes her role seriously. My cats were happy, well-fed, and comfortable when I returned, and I could tell they had been in great hands. I highly recommend Cassandra to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and caring cat sitter!”

About: I've had loads of pet experience over the years, from early childhood to present day. I grew up in a rural setting where there were always animals around...farm animals such as chickens, pigs and turkeys. As for house pets, I've had MANY...several dogs over the years, too many cats to count, rabbits and hamsters. In my younger years I had a Poodle, a Samoyed, a Beagle and Cocker Spaniel. As for cats, well...let's just say our family was crazy for cats...I remember at one point in my youth, I had 10 at once! Later in life my husband and I had two Maincoons (Missy and Buster) who were literally the loves of our lives. We still miss them terribly and always think about them. In my 20s I worked at a pet store, where I also took care of the animals there (cats, dogs, hamsters, birds and fish). In my 30s I worked as a dog walker, which was very rewarding and so, so much fun. I would walk and care for three to six on any given day. I would pick them all up at each of their homes, each taking their preferred seat in my Jeep (the smallest one always insisting she sit in the front seat) and head out on our adventures for the day! These days I have several dogs in my orbit that belong to family members and friends. We have one in particular that we care for in our home periodically for our friends...Gordon the golden doodle, a.k.a. our nephew. All that being said I feel that I have a lot of experience and love to offer your fur babies, along with an endless supply of hugs, snuggles and kisses! Halifax is my permanent home but commute out of province for work. I am home for roughly half of the month, days vary but on average I'm home anywhere from 13-18 days a month and usually anywhere from 6-13 days at a time. I do get my schedule one month in advance on the 25th of each month, at which point I would update my calendar. I currently care for a friends dog periodically when they are away for a few days or sometimes longer. He has the run of the house, not crated and sleeps with us...not spoiled at all. We of course take him on walks and have play time...all the time.

“Samantha was incredible! She was very easy to communicate with, provided plenty of pictures and updates, and most importantly upon coming back I can tell just how well taken care of Cali was!!! It was so nice coming home to such a happy pet, would definitely recommend Samantha to anyone.”
About: I have loved dogs for as long as I can remember, some of my earliest memories are of being dragged around by the family German Sheppard! I currently help out with friends fur babies when needed and would love to help you too! I am currently working full time Monday-Friday, but am free most evenings and weekends to help out wherever you may need it! Whether it's just to drop in for a cuddle or a walk to get the zoomies out! I love taking long walks and checking out new neighborhoods and one of my favorite things is to give belly rubs! I also have a friendly mini goldendoodle if your pup needs a play date!
“Shanny was fantastic and very caring with our kitty Ginger. A great sitter, kind and always provided up-to-date photos, on her daily care. We recommend her and will use her again in the near future. Thank you Shanny”

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lower Sackville
Giulia took wonderful care of our 12-year-old senior lab, Gibson, while we were out of town. She was attentive, reliable, and clearly very comfortable caring for an older dog. Knowing Gibson was in such good hands was a huge stress relief and allowed us to truly enjoy our vacation. We came home to a happy, well-cared-for pup. We would absolutely recommend Giulia and would not hesitate to use her services again.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
