“Renita and her husband were so wonderful to my pup, Wrigley. I loved having updates with pictures and videos throughout the day, as he hasn’t been without us much and we were worried how he would be. It was reassuring to see how comfortable he was and they made him feel right at home. I also love that they only take on one dog at a time, so I know he’s getting their full attention. I would absolutly book with them again!”

“Greer was absolutely amazing with our dog, Beau! She looked after him while we were away for a wedding, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. It was clear from the updates and photos that Beau had the best time—he was so happy, relaxed, and well cared for. Knowing he was in such great hands let us fully enjoy our weekend away. We would absolutely trust Greer with Beau again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring, reliable pet sitter. Thank you so much, Greer!”

“This was the first time Sully has been to a Rover sitter, and we are so impressed! Marisa gave Sully medication and eye drops and took him on daily walking adventures. She even took him for a stroll on the Halifax waterfront. We received multiple pictures each day which was great! We can’t thank Marisa and Danny enough and would definitely take Sully there again.”

“Ruck was an amazing sitter for my dog Bailey while I was travelling for a week. His dog Blue and Bailey were great buddies and he was beyond accomodating with my last minute request for a sitter after my plans fell through with another sitter. He sent updates throughout my trip and when I got back late from the airport to a dead car battery he was able to bring Bailey home to me that night! I would highly recommend him to anyone and I hope to be able to leave Bailey in his capable hands the next time I’m travelling 🙂”

About: I've grown up around pets and have looked after dogs for family, friends, and neighbours. I'm comfortable with feeding, walks, playtime, cleaning up after them, and sticking to any routines they have. I think what sets me apart is that I'm really patient and attentive, and I genuinely love animals, so I treat every pet like they're my own and make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. 🐾💕 I do most of my schoolwork from home, so I have a pretty flexible schedule and spend a lot of time at home during the day. That makes it easy for me to fit pet care into my routine, whether that's walks, feeding, playtime, check-ins, or just keeping pets company throughout the day. I’m super respectful and trained with animals! I’m open to all kinds of care and experienced in each that I offer. I’m so excited to get to know your pet.

Tara and Jason are amazing! They took care of our Willow as if he was their own. They sent us updates everyday, went above and beyond to provide extra comfort for him to feel ant ease and took him on tons of outdoor activities to keep our Border Collie entertained. We were able to enjoy our vacation to the fullest, knowing that our Willow was happier than ever with his host family. Thank you!!

We had such a great experience with Meghan! She took wonderful care of our golden retriever for four days and made her feel completely at home with her family and two dogs. Lots of walks, attention and company — we could tell she was happy and very well looked after. Meghan is also just around the corner from us, which made everything incredibly easy. We’d happily leave our girl with her again anytime. Thanks so much, Meghan!

My boy had a great stay with Kristen, he got lots of cuddles and attention. I was very comfortable leaving Slim, and he made himself at home immediately so he was definitely comfortable too :) I will defintely book with Kristen again, and I would highly recommend her!

Nicole is amazing! My usually nervous dog warmed up to her immediately, and based on the photos/videos of all their adventures, I don’t think he missed me one bit :D. I would highly recommend booking with her if your pet is shy around new people, she’s truly great with dogs! 10/10

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
