“I was a little nervous leaving Casear, but Colin took such great care of him. He kept me updated with pictures, which really gave me peace of mind, and he was very flexible and easy to communicate with. I really appreciate everything he did, and I would definitely book him again in the future.”

About: Hi! We’re Cheryl and Mike 😊 We're a dog-loving family offering in-home dog sitting in a safe, loving, and comfortable environment. We had our own beloved dog for 13 wonderful years, and after saying goodbye to him last year, we realized how much we miss having dogs around. We know firsthand how important it is to feel confident that your pup is happy, well cared for, and treated like part of the family while you're away. A few things your furry friend will enjoy: 🏡 A fully fenced backyard for safe playtime and fresh air 👨👩👧👦 A family home with two gentle, dog-loving kids (ages 4 and 8) ❤️ Experienced dog owners who understand the importance of routines, comfort, and lots of love We'd love to chat and see if we're a good fit for your dog. Feel free to reach out with any questions! 💻 Work-from-home schedule (50% of the week), meaning your dog gets lots of attention and supervision. Able to take them out for daily walks and outdoor breaks as needed. If there is a certain day or week that you need care, and we are showing unavailable, please still reach out as we may be able to change our schedule to accommodate your request. :) We’re happy to accommodate your dog’s individual needs, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and plenty of affection. Whether your dog loves to play or prefers a quieter, cozy space, we’ll make sure they feel safe and at home. Our goal is to give you peace of mind while you’re away — and give your pup a home-away-from-home experience.
“My dog Rupert had a wonderful time staying with Renita, I couldn’t recommend her more! She asked very thoughtful questions about his needs and preferences which demonstrated great knowledge and comfort working with dogs of all kinds! But most of all I could tell that Rupert was very well loved. This was in the way she spoke about and interacted with him — he was instantly comfortable in her care. I loved that Renita provided photo updates throughout the day so that we could stay in contact and I never felt that far away. Will rebook in a heartbeat 💗🐶”

About: I have always loved animals since I was a child! I worked as a volunteer dog care attendant with the SPCA for 9 years, and am certified in pet first aid. I also have a background in dog training and have dabbled in various dog sports over the years. Currently I share my home with my pit bull Atlas who LOVES all other dog friends, and my senior cat Kallie. I work from home so I'm able to be with your pet 24/7 during their stay with me! This way they don't need to be alone while you're away. I have a fully fenced yard and a very social pitbull who loves to make new friends and play. I can also offer daily walks while your pup is in my care if desired!
“Emily was an amazing pet sitter for Joy and Hope! From start to finish, she was professional, reliable, and very caring. Joy and Hope were happy, comfortable, and clearly well looked after while we were away. Emily kept us updated with regular messages and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. It’s obvious she genuinely loves animals and treats them like her own. We wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again and highly recommend Emily to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter. 🐾💛”

“We would highly recommend Ash & Abhi. They cared for our one year old double doodle for almost 3 weeks. Especially appreciated the occasional photos and short videos! A picture is worth a thousand words and we could see that Mia was enjoying her stay. We prefer to travel with our dog but sometimes that isn’t possible so it’s great to know someone who can provide a welcome in their home. Thank you!!”

About: I’ve been taking care of my dog for over fourteen years so I have experience from training to older dog needs (my guy gets eye drops four times a day). I’ve dog sat dogs ranging in size from 6lbs to 90lbs and am comfortable walking a large dog along with my dog. I’m available for dog walking anytime after 4:30 on weekdays and anytime on weekends as I work a full time Monday to Friday office job. For dog boarding I can take dogs Friday through Monday but am in office during the week so can only take dogs Tuesday to Thursday that are comfortable being home alone for four hours (I walk home at lunch to take them out) I have a one bedroom apartment and a friendly senior dog. I’ll walk the dogs together for most walks but will walk your dog longer if they need a little more exercise as my old guy taps out around half an hour these days.
“Victoria boarded our Skipper for a week plus. Victoria, her family, and two dogs provided an environment that allowed Skipper to quickly fit in and settle. They always included Skipper in all activities, inside and out. Victoria is a super communicator and always kept us connected with Skipper and all goings on. We highly recommend Victoria and would not hesitate to leave our Skipper with her again!”

“Liefe, Eliza and Kiran were great and I had no issues. Basil stayed with them for two weeks and I felt she would have gotten lots of love and attention. They responded in a timely manner when we were scheduling dropping her off and picking her up and let me know when there were issues. I would book with them again.”

“Ruck was an amazing sitter for my dog Bailey while I was travelling for a week. His dog Blue and Bailey were great buddies and he was beyond accomodating with my last minute request for a sitter after my plans fell through with another sitter. He sent updates throughout my trip and when I got back late from the airport to a dead car battery he was able to bring Bailey home to me that night! I would highly recommend him to anyone and I hope to be able to leave Bailey in his capable hands the next time I’m travelling 🙂”

“We are so thankful for the outstanding care Gail provided for our two dogs. The photos she sent were very reassuring with our pups looking very happy and content. I would be willing to arrange all my travel plans in the future around Gail’s availability. Thank you Gail! 🩷”

“Rebecca took great care of Nash during his stay and was very flexible and accommodating for some of his extra needs following dental surgery. It is clear that Nash got lots of exercise and was well loved during his stay. We would highly recommend Rebecca and her family :)”

“We left Ava with Sonya for five weeks, and are very happy with the results. Sonya and her family took great care of Ava, and we saw some lovely pictures of her playing in the snow and then snoozing on her bed. We'll be back!”
About: We have a 13 lbs Shih Tzu who gets along great with most dogs. He is well loved and we would treat your dog the same. I work 8-3 but am off during the summer/ weekdays and holidays. Your dog would have lots of outdoor time and would be well cared for. My dog isn’t crated most days but is able to be. I would prefer to crate both dogs until the 2 became use to each other.
“My two energetic goldens had a great time! They got lots of walks, fetch and cuddles. They clearly felt at home. I got plenty of photo and video updates and great communication. Highly recommend!”

“Thank you Daryl for making this weekend seemless. Lew had a fantastic time with you and your sweet boy. He was so kind and gentle with little Lew. I really appreciate all the pictures! You have a beautiful yard and a wonderful home. Looking forward to seeing you again!”

My boy had a great stay with Kristen, he got lots of cuddles and attention. I was very comfortable leaving Slim, and he made himself at home immediately so he was definitely comfortable too :) I will defintely book with Kristen again, and I would highly recommend her!

Tara and Jason were extra patient with my 18 month old pup. Bowser had an amazing time going on adventures and playing with their sweet dog, Stark. They sent regular updates and I felt very comfortable knowing that Bowser was receiving the best care and getting lots of love and attention.

Ben has been amazing with our pets. We've left our dog with him several times. We left our senior cat with him for the first time on our most recent trip. He sends so many photos and provides updates every day. He is very trustworthy and kind. We hope to continue using him for as long as he pet sits.

Our first booking with Meaghan was wonderful! My 9-year old husky/shepherd mix fit right in with her dogs and kids, and she has a great setup in her yard and for walks if your dog needs to stay on-leash outside (like mine does). This was a great boarder for our dog and I will definitely book with her again 😍

Aswini was willing to take my cat with very little notice, and she treated him very well, he seemed fairly comfortable from the regular updates I received and I could tell she took very good care of him. Highly recommend, and if I need her services again I’ll be sure to contact her first 😌

Nicole is amazing! My usually nervous dog warmed up to her immediately, and based on the photos/videos of all their adventures, I don’t think he missed me one bit :D. I would highly recommend booking with her if your pet is shy around new people, she’s truly great with dogs! 10/10

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
