We felt comfortable with Emily from the start and could tell she puts a lot of time and consideration in her care and her communications. “Louie was the best sitter for my dog while I was away for work , Vasu stayed with louie for 3 days , he’s a little hard to handle boi , but I appreciate her patience and love for him, while trying to make every possible accommodation to suit Vasu’s needs . She did send us regular updates and was very responsive.”
“Beyond grateful for Claire & Jared. We were in Halifax from out of town and didn’t know anyone to watch our two girls for us to fly to a work convention. Last minute Claire was able to accommodate us — not only going above and beyond with the dogs, but also keeping them an extra night when our flights were delayed a day. She sent lots of updates, pictures and that helped ease our minds while away knowing they were being well taken care of and loved.”

“Marisa took care of my sassy French Bulldog Beatrice for a weekend. Beatrice LOVED her time with Marisa. She kept me updated frequently on how Beatrice was doing sending me pictures of her daily adventures. I would definitely have Marisa care for Beatrice again!”

“We would highly recommend Ash & Abhi. They cared for our one year old double doodle for almost 3 weeks. Especially appreciated the occasional photos and short videos! A picture is worth a thousand words and we could see that Mia was enjoying her stay. We prefer to travel with our dog but sometimes that isn’t possible so it’s great to know someone who can provide a welcome in their home. Thank you!!”

“Kara was amazing! She sent photos every day of my dog and Oswald just loved her! She took care of him when he got an upset stomach and was so kind and generous 10/10 would contact again!!”
“Trish is the best sitter we've ever had! We boarded Krypto for 3 days which became 4 due to unforeseen circumstances and Trish was lovely about everything. She treated Krypto like family and is our goto now. We will definitely be back and we highly recommend her services”

“Rain was lovely to deal with and took wonderful care of Ellie! Rain accommodated Ellie however she could, checked in with me and sent lots of pictures! Ellie was happy when I picked her up and I could tell she enjoyed her stay! We will definitely be going back!”

About: I have always loved animals since I was a child! I worked as a volunteer dog care attendant with the SPCA for 9 years, and am certified in pet first aid. I also have a background in dog training and have dabbled in various dog sports over the years. Currently I share my home with my pit bull Atlas who LOVES all other dog friends, and my senior cat Kallie. I work from home so I'm able to be with your pet 24/7 during their stay with me! This way they don't need to be alone while you're away. I have a fully fenced yard and a very social pitbull who loves to make new friends and play. I can also offer daily walks while your pup is in my care if desired!
“It was our first time using Rover. Meaghan and family were amazing dog sitters and welcomed our golden retriever into their home with open arms. Our girl loved hanging out with their dogs and cat, was taken on many walks, and rides for treats. She had a blast! Communication was excellent with photos throughout the boarding. Thank you, Meaghan! 🐕 ☺️”

Nicole is amazing! My usually nervous dog warmed up to her immediately, and based on the photos/videos of all their adventures, I don’t think he missed me one bit :D. I would highly recommend booking with her if your pet is shy around new people, she’s truly great with dogs! 10/10

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
