“It was our first time using Rover to board our dog, Gimli. Shawna and Chris were amazing hosts, extremely considerate and flexible. After we booked Gimli’s stay, they received a request to board an additional dog and Shawna was extremely considerate and arranged for a meet and greet between the dogs before accepting the additional dog. They also sent daily updates with several pictures to show how much fun Gimli had. He honestly seemed a bit sad to be going home after such a fun week! Thank you!”

“Ben has been so fantastic with our two golden retrievers. He is responsive, accommodating, provides lots of picture updates, and really shows his affection for our dogs. Our dogs have stayed with him 4 separate times now and we plan on having them stay with him for further boarding as well. Can’t recommend him enough!”

“Renita and Jerry are wonderful people who clearly love dogs and love taking care of them! We left Joey with them for over a week, which felt like a really long time, but Joey settled in quickly and seemed to really enjoy his stay. He was well cared for, exercised regularly, spoiled and loved, which was totally fine with us! She sent pictures every day of some of the things Joey was up to. This really put our minds at ease knowing he was happy and being cared for. We would highly recommend Renita to look after your pup! Thanks Renita!”

“We had a great experience with Thiago and Nicole! They looked after our boy Bhoora for a full week and took really good care of him. He came back happy, relaxed, and clearly well looked after. You can tell they genuinely care about the dogs they watch. We really appreciate their kindness and would definitely trust them again in the future.”

I'm a confident, patient and attentive caregiver who understands that each dog has unique needs. I prioritize safety, consistency, and making each dog feel comfortable and at home. Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles, or maintaining their regular routine, I'll care for your dog as if they were my own. As a stay at home parent, I have a flexible schedule and am home most of the day. This allows me to provide plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and companionship. I can easily maintain your dog's normal routine to help them feel comfortable and at home during their stay. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor play and one friendly, well-socialized dog who enjoys meeting new friends. “⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We couldn’t be happier with Justin and the amazing care he gave our Tucker! 🐾❤️ Tucker stayed with him for 5 days and 4 nights while we were away in Quebec, and Justin went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and well cared for. He kept us updated every day with photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Tucker had so much fun playing fetch, going on walks, and visiting the dog park. And of course, he had the best time with Justin’s Golden Retriever, Zoey! They became such good friends. 🥹 It honestly felt like Tucker was staying with his second family. Justin was so caring, attentive, and loving toward him, and we could tell Tucker had an amazing time. Thank you so much, Justin, for taking such wonderful care of our boy! We truly appreciate you and Zoey. Tucker definitely has a second family now, and we wouldn’t hesitate to have him stay with you again. Highly recommend! ❤️🐶”

“Leaving our dog Harper is never easy, but this experience made it completely stress-free. From the very beginning, it was clear how caring, reliable, and attentive Marisa was. She went above and beyond to make sure Harper felt safe, happy, and loved, treating her like one of her own. I received regular updates, photos, and messages, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was obvious Harper was having a wonderful time, and I could truly relax knowing she was in such capable hands. I couldn't have asked for a better dog sitter. Marisa’s kindness, professionalism, and genuine love for animals shine through in everything she does. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for someone they can trust with their furry family member. We had such a wonderful experience leaving our dog with Lou. Our dog can be a bit anxious, and she seemed to feel comfortable right away. Lou was super communicative and sent photos of our dog having a great time :) we are so happy to have found such a lovely dog sitter, and will definitely be booking again!

Felicity (& Gail) were incredible with my rather nervous girl. My dog is very selective, and within mere minutes of meeting Felicity (who was going to be the main caregiver) in their home, Lizzie was sprawled out on the floor and happy to let herself be touched. They stayed in contact, kept me updated, and after 8 days, I picked up a very happy & tired doggo. Would recommend, and will absolutely return to them for future needs.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We left Chikoo with them for a few days while we were in Toronto, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. ❤️🐶 Chikoo came back happy, relaxed, and exactly like himself—we didn’t notice any changes in his behavior, which told us he truly felt at home. 🏡 They took great care of him and followed all the instructions we gave. They were incredibly cooperative, kind, and treated Chikoo like he was part of their own family. 🥰 We ended up extending his stay by a couple more days, and they were more than happy to keep him. They even went above and beyond by going to the store to buy his pee pads and food when they ran out. 🙏🛍️ We’re so grateful for the love and care they gave Chikoo. ❤️ I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring dog sitter for their furry family member! 🐾

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they do not have any disqualifying offences.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
