“Mark & Evangeline were awesome with Zimba. They took very good care of him for the 2 weeks that we were away, and made him a part of their family. They sent us daily updates with pictures and short videos. They gave Zimba his medication in a timely manner, and followed his regular routine. When we picked him up we noticed that he was happy and well taken care of. Mark & Evangeline are the best sitters we have had so far and I would highly recommend them. I will definitely keep Zimba with them in the future. Thank you Mark & Evangeline! 🥰”

“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We couldn’t be happier with Justin and the amazing care he gave our Tucker! 🐾❤️ Tucker stayed with him for 5 days and 4 nights while we were away in Quebec, and Justin went above and beyond to make sure he was happy and well cared for. He kept us updated every day with photos and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Tucker had so much fun playing fetch, going on walks, and visiting the dog park. And of course, he had the best time with Justin’s Golden Retriever, Zoey! They became such good friends. 🥹 It honestly felt like Tucker was staying with his second family. Justin was so caring, attentive, and loving toward him, and we could tell Tucker had an amazing time. Thank you so much, Justin, for taking such wonderful care of our boy! We truly appreciate you and Zoey. Tucker definitely has a second family now, and we wouldn’t hesitate to have him stay with you again. Highly recommend! ❤️🐶”

About: I’ve loved animals from a young age and have hands-on experience caring for a variety of pets, including a puppy, several cats, and even fish both as a child and as an adult. This has helped me understand the different needs and behaviors of animals—from energetic dogs to independent cats and the consistency required for maintaining a healthy aquarium. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy spending time with pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m patient with puppies and can help reinforce basic routines, and I’m equally comfortable with cats, respecting their space while still giving them attention and care. My experience with fish has also made me detail-oriented when it comes to feeding schedules, cleanliness, and maintaining a stable environment—skills that carry over into all types of pet care. I’m reliable, attentive, and committed to following each pet’s routine closely. I also keep owners updated so they have peace of mind knowing their pets are in good hands. I treat every pet like family and focus on creating a stress-free, happy environment for them. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and make it a priority in my schedule. I plan my day to ensure I have dedicated time for feeding, walks, playtime, and general care, so pets receive consistent attention and are never rushed. I’m comfortable incorporating morning and evening routines, as well as check-ins during the day if needed. Whether it’s taking dogs out for walks, spending time playing, or ensuring cats and other pets are fed and comfortable, I make sure their routine is followed closely. I treat pet care as an important and enjoyable part of my routine, not just an extra task. I provide a safe, calm, and pet-friendly environment in my home where pets can feel comfortable and well cared for. I make sure they have a dedicated space to rest, access to fresh water, and a consistent routine for feeding, playtime, and relaxation. I take time to understand each pet’s habits and preferences so I can follow their normal routine as closely as possible. For dogs, this includes regular walks, playtime, and attention. For cats, I ensure a quiet, comfortable space while also giving them interaction on their terms. I’m also experienced in caring for fish, maintaining feeding schedules and a clean, stable environment. Pets are always supervised, and I focus on creating a stress-free atmosphere where they feel safe and at ease. I keep the home clean and organized and provide updates to owners so they know their pets are happy and in good hands. Overall, I treat every pet like family and make sure they receive consistent care, attention, and comfort throughout their stay.

About: We've recently had to say goodbye to our adored 16 year old Miniature Dachshund and our family of four is seeking to share our home and love with other dogs. I am available to care for your dog during the day as I am not working and our two older children are in school. I am often not away from the house for more than 1 -2 hours at a time and I love spending time outdoors. We live in a pet friendly neighbourhood with sidewalks and easy access to both paved and wooded paths near the lake for lots of walks. While our backyards is not fully fenced, we do have a walkout deck and private grassy and wooded area for play and supervised breaks. We have experience with dogs of all ages, including puppies and senior dogs. I would be excited to learn more about your pet and can tailor my care for their unique needs. I am available 24/7 to care for your pet. I can provide undivided attention to your pup during the day and we can offer lots of attention and play given all family members are dog lovers. Typically, someone is always home and if not, we're only away for 1-2 hours at a time. Your pet will have access to our entire house; however, we also have secure gates available should you wish to resist to the main level. We also have a pet stroller should your dog have any mobility issues.

“We could not have been happier with our experience with Daryl! Willie was happy as he could be and I know he received tons of snuggles and had the best day with Daryl. Thank you so much for making our boy feel comfy and safe!”

About: I have always loved animals since I was a child! I worked as a volunteer dog care attendant with the SPCA for 9 years, and am certified in pet first aid. I also have a background in dog training and have dabbled in various dog sports over the years. Currently I share my home with my pit bull Atlas who LOVES all other dog friends, and my senior cat Kallie. I work from home so I'm able to be with your pet 24/7 during their stay with me! This way they don't need to be alone while you're away. I have a fully fenced yard and a very social pitbull who loves to make new friends and play. I can also offer daily walks while your pup is in my care if desired!
“Sarah was excellent with our two pups. We were coming in from out of town for the day so couldn’t arrange a meet and greet in advance. Sarah asked all the right questions and our dogs were well cared for all day, and she even graciously accommodated a last minute request to extend their stay. An excellent dog sitter for anyone in Halifax. Thank you so much, Sarah!”

“We were visiting Nova Scotia from NE Ohio. We were staying in Amherst Shore but visiting the Halifax area and Peggy’s Cove for a day. We couldn’t leave the pup in the camper for that long but needed somewhere for him for a few hours while we went to the Maritime museum. Everything worked out perfectly from drop off to pick up. I felt very comfortable leaving him with Emily and he seemed very happy and comfortable when we picked him up. If we are ever back in the area would definitely consider leaving him with her again.”

“Jessica was great with Roxie. She got exercise and I felt comfortable leaving her there due to Jessica’s knowledge of dog behaviour. We will definitely use her again.”

About: I have been fostering and taking care of dogs for over ten years and have lots of experience with puppies through to seniors. I am in a pet friendly apartment with a lot of beautiful spaces for outdoor time and lots of parks nearby for us to walk to. My space is clean and uncluttered so nothing for pups to get into, and I love a good snuggle on the couch or at night with the pups. I recently lost my senior border collie. I have experience crate training puppies and have also done puppy training and obedience classes. I work from home so I’m available for lots of pee breaks and play sessions. Looking forward to meeting you and your pup! I work remotely with a flexible schedule so can easily accommodate your pups needs. I am an early riser and love getting outside early in the mornings! I care for your dogs in the same way I do mine - lots of attention, lots of love and activity. I have crate trained puppies and am used to lots of different types of dogs.
About: I can provide a loving, structured, safe environment with a focus on positive reinforcement. I have experience with almost every kind of pet, but specialize in canines and kitties. As someone who is home all day, I am able to prioritize with the needs of your pets whether it be old age related health needs or young age related potty needs etc. I have a large partially fenced yard on a green belt. I have a dog line set up for brief outside uses but usually take dogs out in groups several times a day besides walks. For kitties, it is a three level home where cats are free to find their own spot/space. I feed all animals 1 to three times a day on a schedule for the most part. Dogs are allowed on some furniture with permission.
About: LGBTQ+ Safe 🥰 I've taken care of dogs and cats my whole life, I had been a Registered Veterinary Technician for 8 years before retiring in 2026 but had branched into my real interest, behaviour in 2022 by starting my own company and focusing on helping owners with their reactive and fearful dogs. I have worked in general practices and emergency medicine so your pet couldn't be in safer hands while with me. My big interests for breeds are German Shepherd Dogs, Dobermans, Malinois, Border Collies, essentially any working or high drive dogs. I've raised Bulldogs, Am Staff's, Rotties and German Shepherds through my life but working on the veterinary side I've worked with everything big and small. I love giant breeds, I've handled everything up to 180 lbs at this point. Though my current dog is a hound mix so I have begun to fall in love with those types of personalities and I do desire a Wire Fox Terrier later in life. I love advocating not only for fearful/anxious dogs but also small breeds who's behaviours are often ignored. My current dog is a rehome to me after biting the baby sitter in his initial home a few weeks after coming to Canada. Since being with me he has a fantastic support system from our primary care vet, our veterinary behaviour consultant, other local dog trainers, and a rehab/fitness specialist to not only manage his chronic pain but his medical management. He is currently on medications but has thrived in training since being with me, he has not been a bite risk while in my care. He loves humans more than anything, wanting to give you kisses and crawl into your skin if you allow him. He loves his dog friends as well, we spend lots of time hiking off leash with other dogs and training with them. Because of this he is also my demo dog for showing other dogs how to be comfortable and confident in the world while also showing things are possible to stressed owners that were where Memphis was in January 2025. My company is Canine Stability and I offer Dog Training, Dangerous Dog Assessments, Behavioural Rehabilitation for dogs with bite histories and severe anxiety and more. I love to focus on reactive and fearful dogs but please check out my Instagram to learn more! Currently my full-time job is my own business so am home during the day while having training sessions in the evenings and weekends. This is why I am now offering boarding for the work day. I am very vigilant about closed doors and gates. My backyard is fully fenced in but dogs are still not left unattended outside or when together. I believe in keeping arousal/stimulation fairly low, we are allowed to play but nothing crazy to avoid miscommunications between dogs and injuries. This doesn't mean they don't get to have structured play, access to a dig pit or other fun games and enrichment during their stay. Being calm and quiet helps with them being more calm and relaxed with the interactions given I am a new face usually. I am always hyper aware on walks or when out of the house with pets, I don't allow strangers to approach or unknown off leash dogs out of utmost precaution. I don't like or go to dog parks for the same reason, just to he on the safe side with unknown dogs/people. I prefer 2 attachments to dogs coming to my home. So I do prefer a collar and harness to be on the dog at time of drop off. Harnesses come off when inside but collars do not as they still stay under my direct supervision.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs and other pets since I was a little girl, and it’s something I truly love. Over the years, friends and family have relied on me to walk, feed, and care for dogs of all sizes—from tiny 10 lb pups to 100 lb gentle giants. I have extensive experience with senior dogs and pets with anxiety, and I always take the time to ensure they feel safe, calm, and comfortable. Whether it’s administering medication, sticking to routines, or just offering quiet companionship, I adjust my care to meet each dog’s individual needs. I’m happy to provide daily updates with photos, short videos, and notes on how your pet is doing—including food intake and poop reports—so you can relax knowing everything’s going smoothly. I work from home with a flexible schedule, which means I have plenty of time to give your pet the attention they deserve—whether it’s early morning walks, midday potty breaks, or weekend cuddles. Your pet won’t be left alone for long periods, and I’m happy to adapt my routine to match their needs. Consistent care, love, and plenty of updates are all part of the experience! I live in a house with a fenced back yard that’s just steps away from parks and green spaces, perfect for daily walks and outdoor play. You can trust that your pet will be in a safe, calm, and caring environment, with consistent companionship and lots of love.

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I had a greyhound 🐕and a Siamese/Himalayan mix 🐈 who lived to 14½ and 17 years old. After saying goodbye to my two senior pets in 2025, I joined Rover to share my time and care with other people’s beloved pets. Since joining Rover, I’ve enjoyed building relationships with both pets and their owners. I know how important it is to provide reliable care, clear communication and regular updates, so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands. I’m experienced with senior animals and pets with special needs. I’ve also walked and cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including Golden Retrievers, Border Collies and AmStaffs, so I’m comfortable adapting to different personalities and energy levels. In addition to dogs and cats, I also ride and care for horses. If you’re currently working on training, I’m happy to support your efforts by reinforcing your dog’s routine using positive, reward-based methods. I believe in treating every pet with kindness, patience and encouragement. I work in communications and marketing. With a hybrid work environment, I have the flexibility to support your pet’s needs. “Cassie was wonderful with our dog, Jojo! We hired her for twice-daily walks over the long weekend, and Jojo was always so excited to see her—she would leap right into Cassie’s car, ready to go! Despite the torrential rain all weekend, Cassie was a real trooper and always gave Jojo her full walk, often staying out even longer than expected. She is sweet, reliable, and clearly loves dogs. We would absolutely hire her again!”

“Wren is wonderful. Lola, our dog connected with her immediately. One can tell Wren loves animals. Wren is great with communicating with me about Lola’s walks and our dog walking schedule. This is the first time I’ve used this app to find a dog walker. I highly recommend this app and very much Wren.”

“Ronan seems to really taken to Michelle and she does a great job I’m looking after him before during and after the walk. I do recommend Michelle to others and we will continue to use her in the future.”

“Jaime was great with walking my dog! She answered promptly, was great at communicating including letting me know when she picked up her and feedback on the walk itself. Will be hiring her again!”

About: Hello everyone! I am a 30 year old living in Halifax, Nova Scotia - however I am from Newfoundland originally. While they are getting spoiled at home, I miss them dearly, and would love a chance to spend quality time with your pet! I have experience with mainly dogs and cats, of all sizes, abilities and needs. Animals are truly a form of therapy to me, and I would love to be a part of caring for your animals needs! I currently work full time M-F 7:30-3:30. I am looking for part time work to keep me busy and fill my heart with happiness! I can’t think of a better way to spend my extra time than walking and caring for your loved pet! I have lots of walking trails near my home and happy to customize my walk based on you and your dogs preferences (walk, run, park walk, hike, park lounging, etc.)

Whether it's walks, playtime, cuddles, or maintaining their regular routine, I'll care for your dog as if they were my own. As a stay at home parent, I have a flexible schedule and am home most of the day. This allows me to provide plenty of attention, regular potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and companionship. I can easily maintain your dog's normal routine to help them feel comfortable and at home during their stay. Your dog's safety and comfort are my top priorities. I have a fully fenced yard for safe outdoor play and one friendly, well-socialized dog who enjoys meeting new friends. I always introduce the dogs gradually and supervise interactions to ensure everyone is comfortable. If your dog needs their own space, I'm happy to accommodate this as well, including crating if requested. I'll follow your feeding schedule, exercise routine, and any special instructions. I will send you updates if requested so you can enjoy your time away knowing your pet is in caring hands.
“I’ve used many Rovers in multiple cities and Jillian is among the best! She was proactive in her communication, very diligent with the instructions I left her, and super accommodating. She was able to walk both of my large (65 lbs) dogs at the same time and was capable of managing leash reactivity. The dogs loved her from the minute she walked through the door!”

“Emily was great walking Austin for a couple of evenings when we were tied up. She was quick to respond to our last minute request. She was very punctual and Austin had great walks with her. Thanks Emily!”

“Tara and Jason are amazing! They took care of our Willow as if he was their own. They sent us updates everyday, went above and beyond to provide extra comfort for him to feel ant ease and took him on tons of outdoor activities to keep our Border Collie entertained. We were able to enjoy our vacation to the fullest, knowing that our Willow was happier than ever with his host family. Thank you!!”

“We had such a wonderful experience leaving our dog with Lou. Our dog can be a bit anxious, and she seemed to feel comfortable right away. Lou was super communicative and sent photos of our dog having a great time :) we are so happy to have found such a lovely dog sitter, and will definitely be booking again!”

“Toby enjoyed his sleepover with Ben and his dogs (new furry friends):) Ben very responsive with communication and also sent several pics while we were away”

“Trish did an absolutely wonderful job looking after my senior dog. She was great at sending me daily pictures and updates. She was able to give all the medications with out issues and my dog got along with hers so well. I would 10 out of 10 recommend her for sitting and would use her again.”

“Gigi was super sweet and took amazing care of Pepita! She sent pictures and updates every day, and took her on some fun adventures. I’m super grateful to her for taking such good care of my puppy. I will definitely rebook with her in the future! 💙☺️”

“"I had a wonderful experience leaving my dachshund with her! Shea is so patient and truly knows how to take care of dogs. Her own dog got along great with mine, which made me feel so at ease. She was always friendly and kept me updated with photos and messages while I was away. I could tell my pup was well cared for and happy the entire time. Highly recommend!"”

“Sonya is amazing in every way. She was very easy to communicate with and so accommodating! She sent us daily updates and pictures and even offered to meet us and our dog before the drop-off. We came home to a very happy pup. I think he had a better vacation than we did. Don't hesitate to book Sonya. I would give her 10 stars if I could.”

“Emily and her family were amazing with our Coco Bear. We were looking for a family-based home for our boy while we were in Newfoundland for our family vaca. Emily. her husband and children went above and beyond and even had a birthday party for Coco while we were away! Highly recommend Emily! 💕 Huge animal lover and it was very evident how much she loves animals. 💗 Thanks so much!”

“Renita and her husband were so wonderful to my pup, Wrigley. I loved having updates with pictures and videos throughout the day, as he hasn’t been without us much and we were worried how he would be. It was reassuring to see how comfortable he was and they made him feel right at home. I also love that they only take on one dog at a time, so I know he’s getting their full attention. I would absolutly book with them again!”

“Ruck was an amazing sitter for my dog Bailey while I was travelling for a week. His dog Blue and Bailey were great buddies and he was beyond accomodating with my last minute request for a sitter after my plans fell through with another sitter. He sent updates throughout my trip and when I got back late from the airport to a dead car battery he was able to bring Bailey home to me that night! I would highly recommend him to anyone and I hope to be able to leave Bailey in his capable hands the next time I’m travelling 🙂”

“Liefe, Eliza and Kiran were great and I had no issues. Basil stayed with them for two weeks and I felt she would have gotten lots of love and attention. They responded in a timely manner when we were scheduling dropping her off and picking her up and let me know when there were issues. I would book with them again.”
