About: I’ve loved animals from a young age and have hands-on experience caring for a variety of pets, including a puppy, several cats, and even fish both as a child and as an adult. This has helped me understand the different needs and behaviors of animals—from energetic dogs to independent cats and the consistency required for maintaining a healthy aquarium. What sets me apart is that I genuinely enjoy spending time with pets and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their owners are away. I’m patient with puppies and can help reinforce basic routines, and I’m equally comfortable with cats, respecting their space while still giving them attention and care. My experience with fish has also made me detail-oriented when it comes to feeding schedules, cleanliness, and maintaining a stable environment—skills that carry over into all types of pet care. I’m reliable, attentive, and committed to following each pet’s routine closely. I also keep owners updated so they have peace of mind knowing their pets are in good hands. I treat every pet like family and focus on creating a stress-free, happy environment for them. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine because I genuinely enjoy spending time with animals and make it a priority in my schedule. I plan my day to ensure I have dedicated time for feeding, walks, playtime, and general care, so pets receive consistent attention and are never rushed. I’m comfortable incorporating morning and evening routines, as well as check-ins during the day if needed. Whether it’s taking dogs out for walks, spending time playing, or ensuring cats and other pets are fed and comfortable, I make sure their routine is followed closely. I treat pet care as an important and enjoyable part of my routine, not just an extra task. I provide a safe, calm, and pet-friendly environment in my home where pets can feel comfortable and well cared for. I make sure they have a dedicated space to rest, access to fresh water, and a consistent routine for feeding, playtime, and relaxation. I take time to understand each pet’s habits and preferences so I can follow their normal routine as closely as possible. For dogs, this includes regular walks, playtime, and attention. For cats, I ensure a quiet, comfortable space while also giving them interaction on their terms. I’m also experienced in caring for fish, maintaining feeding schedules and a clean, stable environment. Pets are always supervised, and I focus on creating a stress-free atmosphere where they feel safe and at ease. I keep the home clean and organized and provide updates to owners so they know their pets are happy and in good hands. Overall, I treat every pet like family and make sure they receive consistent care, attention, and comfort throughout their stay.
“Excellent care and communication. We requested a boarding weekend last minute after another sitter fell through and Emily and her family were so accommodating and helpful. We were able to come for a meet and greet first to make sure Buddy would be comfortable and interact well with her family. She sent lots of updates and pictures and we felt very safe leaving him with her and her family. 10/10 would return and recommend to anyone looking for quality pet care in the area.”

“Marisa and Danny were a one and done meetup for us. We knew instantly, as did our dog, that they were going to be great companions. They helped us navigate all the options for caring at our home and theirs - and they were very understanding and flexible with all our requests and needs. We're happy to call them our extended family and plan on future bookings with them. Highly recommend!”

About: My friends, family and neighbours have trusted me with sitting, feeding, walking and caring for animals throughout my whole life. I also have experience caring for senior dogs. I am currently working a part time job so I have lots of time to spend with your animals!! However I prefer to board on weekends. I do have green space around my home (unfenced) as well as a park very close by so your pups can experience lots of time outside!
“Ash and Abhi hosted our high energy cattle dog for about 24 hours, and he had a great time. They took him on a long walk to tire him out, and shared a few photos to show he was happy and taken care of well. Thank you both so much!”

“Kelly was terrific with my dog Hippo. He stayed overnight for several days and she took excellent care of him. She was an excellent communicator. She took him on walks and adventures, above and beyond. She even took my pet sitting request on short notice when my original Rover sitter cancelled last minute. Finding her was our lucky day! Highly recommend Kelly (and Patrick).”

“Erica did a wonderful job with my 2 cats. She was originally supposed to be looking after them for 5 days, but I was stuck due to the Air Canada strike and couldn’t make it back home in time. She accommodated my last minute request and made sure my babies were looked after. She was always on time, gave me regular updates. My cats were fed as per the instructions I had left and their litters were perfectly clean when I came back home. I am very thankful to her! My boy cat, is totally in love with her.”

“Keisha was awesome with our bonded pair of skittish kitties. I had her come in once a day for four days. Loved getting the report card every day with pictures and knowing how much of their food they ate, how much they interacted, etc. This was my first time using Rover, and she made me feel fully comfortable with using the platform and leaving my little guys in her capable hands. Thanks, Keisha!”

“Lori was exceptional. She provided updates on our girls with photos. We knew they were well cared for while we were south for a week. We would not hesitate to book with Lori again as she is wonderful with our cats!”

About: I grew up with two labs and a little grey cat, as well as the bonus cats I was in charge of feeding whenever my neighbours went out of town. I don't have any pets now, but I love to go for big walks and would love to have some company on my little neighbourhood outings. I'm currently a graduate student with a flexible schedule. I am available for walks on weekdays in the early mornings or evenings, and on weekends. I can pick your dog up from your home for walks. I prefer to keep to the sidewalks and groomed walking trails. I am comfortable with large dogs as well as small ones.

About: Despite what newbs say, caring for cats is very different than dogs (don't fight me, I will die on this hill!). I understand their needs to interact is on their terms and it's all about boundaries! I also believe in daily cat enrichment and scooping their tootsie rolls out of the little box everyday. From housesitting so your cat doesn't feel lonely but doesn't want attention to working with a cat on my lap, I'm your person. I am also happy to send update photos of their life while you're gone! I have experience giving cat meds (pills, medicated ear gel) and senior cats.

“Shana is the Best!!! She was very helpful with our Cat “Tukker’s”special feeding schedule. We received photos and updates on each visit she had with him and she made sure that everything we had asked was done. I would highly recommend her if you want a person who is understanding of your pets needs and also the pet parents. We will definitely be asking her again for her drop in services in the future. Thanks again Shana”

“Hayley and Lucy are amazing! They are friendly, responsible, and very accommodating. They took care of my baby cats exactly as I asked and went above and beyond. They left very detailed care notes and sent lots of pictures, which gave me so much peace of mind! My cats also got along really well with them. I would definitely recommend them and will absolutely book with them again!”

About: Cats have always held a special place in my heart. I recently said goodbye to my senior cat, a sweet Siamese/Himalayan mix who lived to 17. After years of caring for her through every stage of life, from kitten days to senior care, I have the capacity to offer thoughtful, reliable care to other beloved cats. I’m experienced with cats of all ages and personalities, including those who are shy, require medication, or just prefer quiet companionship. I can assist with feeding routines, litter box maintenance, medication or ointment application, and playtime based on your cat’s needs and comfort level. Along with personal experience, I’ve also cared for the cats of friends and family through drop-in visits and sitting, and I always make it a priority to follow each cat’s unique routine closely.

“We just recently had a meet and greet with Miranda and knew immediately that she would be perfect for looking after our cat for a few days. She was very responsive, punctual and enthusiastic about caring for animals. We so appreciated her daily updates and photos. We have since booked Miranda for house sitting and caring for our elderly cat, Karmi and soon to have new puppy. It is such a relief to have someone you can trust to care as much about your animals as you do. We are thrilled to have found Miranda!”

“My puppy loves Ben as well as Ben's puppies Quincy and Jackson! He doesn't even want to go home with me at the end of his time with them 😂 Ben is friendly, polite, and professional. Highly recommend!!!”

“Gail looked after our puppy Ernie during the day for a month and it went exceptionally well. Ernie was so well looked after, taken on walks, taken to the park and given lots of love. Her daily report cards were detailed and greatly appreciated. I can't thank Gail enough, she took incredible care of our little guy. I would highly recommend her, I know I will be booking her again anytime I need some doggy daycare!”

About: I've owned and cared for dogs throughout my life, and am currently the proud owner of an 8-year-old beagle, Stella. She's very friendly with lots of friends and playmates, so our home is well adapted to four-legged visitors and guests :) I'm a freelance translator who works from home, with a flexible schedule and generally light workload, leaving me plenty of time to look after other dogs besides my own, including long walks and fun outings to the park. I have a great set-up to board dogs in my home: I live with my dog (8-y.o.) and cat (10-y.o.) in a bright, clean suite with a nice balcony in a very pet-friendly apartment complex in the North End of Halifax. There's a semi-private courtyard out front where dogs like to congregate and socialize, I'm in a very walkable neighborhood close to downtown, the Commons and the waterfront, and I have a safe, reliable car that I use to take my dog and others on fun outings to the park (Point Pleasant Park is a favorite destination). In addition, I'm certified in Pet First Aid by St. John Ambulance (Oct. 29, 2023 - certificate available for viewing in photos).
“Carolina is an amazing dog sitter. Being with Carolina and Arthur has been so good for my pup! I’m just so impressed with the level of care Carolina shows and she is so professional and easy going. The updates throughout my workday put me so at ease. I leave Mira there and know she will have a great day :) I absolutely recommend her service!”

About: We've recently had to say goodbye to our adored 16 year old Miniature Dachshund and our family of four is seeking to share our home and love with other dogs. I am available to care for your dog during the day as I am not working and our two older children are in school. I am often not away from the house for more than 1 -2 hours at a time and I love spending time outdoors. We live in a pet friendly neighbourhood with sidewalks and easy access to both paved and wooded paths near the lake for lots of walks. While our backyards is not fully fenced, we do have a walkout deck and private grassy and wooded area for play and supervised breaks. We have experience with dogs of all ages, including puppies and senior dogs. I would be excited to learn more about your pet and can tailor my care for their unique needs. I am available 24/7 to care for your pet. I can provide undivided attention to your pup during the day and we can offer lots of attention and play given all family members are dog lovers. Typically, someone is always home and if not, we're only away for 1-2 hours at a time. Your pet will have access to our entire house; however, we also have secure gates available should you wish to resist to the main level. We also have a pet stroller should your dog have any mobility issues.
About: I have been taking care of animals ever since I can remember! My background working on farms taught me to stay calm under pressure and handle animals of all sizes and temperaments. Whether it’s a stubborn puppy or a cat that needs a little extra space, I’m highly observant of animal body language. Feel free to reach out with any questions. I’m looking forward to helping you and your pet! I work remotely in the South End, giving me great flexibility for walks and house sitting. Since I'm home throughout the day, I can provide a high level of supervision and quick responses for any last minute needs. I treat your home with the same care I treat my own. While house sitting, I stay tidy, follow all house rules, and ensure your pet’s environment stays consistent and without stress. I provide detailed updates and photos after every visit or throughout a stay. I’m also happy to handle small household tasks.
About: Hi! I’m a lifelong dog lover who grew up surrounded by pups — especially poodles and mountain sheepdogs — so caring for dogs truly feels second nature to me. 🐾 I live in downtown Halifax, which means lots of fun walking routes, parks, and new smells to explore! I love going for early morning walks to start the day and peaceful evening strolls to wind down, so your dog will get plenty of fresh air and exercise. I’m comfortable with different sizes and energy levels, from playful, high-energy dogs to calm, cuddly companions. Having grown up with larger breeds, I’m confident handling strong, active dogs, and I also adore the sweet, intelligent personalities of poodles. I’m patient, attentive, and treat every dog like they’re my own. Whether your pup needs long walks, playtime, belly rubs, or just some cozy company, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. Can’t wait to meet your furry family member! 🐶💛 I currently work remote - Being able to do this gives me a lot of time to spend going on walks , training, playing with little furry guys. I do have one toy poodle teddy he is a male 6 years of age and neutered . He's well trained and behaved he has his walking - food - play schedule and great with other dogs.

About: LGBTQ+ Safe 🥰 I've taken care of dogs and cats my whole life, I had been a Registered Veterinary Technician for 8 years before retiring in 2026 but had branched into my real interest, behaviour in 2022 by starting my own company and focusing on helping owners with their reactive and fearful dogs. I have worked in general practices and emergency medicine so your pet couldn't be in safer hands while with me. My big interests for breeds are German Shepherd Dogs, Dobermans, Malinois, Border Collies, essentially any working or high drive dogs. I've raised Bulldogs, Am Staff's, Rotties and German Shepherds through my life but working on the veterinary side I've worked with everything big and small. I love giant breeds, I've handled everything up to 180 lbs at this point. Though my current dog is a hound mix so I have begun to fall in love with those types of personalities and I do desire a Wire Fox Terrier later in life. I love advocating not only for fearful/anxious dogs but also small breeds who's behaviours are often ignored. My current dog is a rehome to me after biting the baby sitter in his initial home a few weeks after coming to Canada. Since being with me he has a fantastic support system from our primary care vet, our veterinary behaviour consultant, other local dog trainers, and a rehab/fitness specialist to not only manage his chronic pain but his medical management. He is currently on medications but has thrived in training since being with me, he has not been a bite risk while in my care. He loves humans more than anything, wanting to give you kisses and crawl into your skin if you allow him. He loves his dog friends as well, we spend lots of time hiking off leash with other dogs and training with them. Because of this he is also my demo dog for showing other dogs how to be comfortable and confident in the world while also showing things are possible to stressed owners that were where Memphis was in January 2025. My company is Canine Stability and I offer Dog Training, Dangerous Dog Assessments, Behavioural Rehabilitation for dogs with bite histories and severe anxiety and more. I love to focus on reactive and fearful dogs but please check out my Instagram to learn more! Currently my full-time job is my own business so am home during the day while having training sessions in the evenings and weekends. This is why I am now offering boarding for the work day. I am very vigilant about closed doors and gates. My backyard is fully fenced in but dogs are still not left unattended outside or when together. I believe in keeping arousal/stimulation fairly low, we are allowed to play but nothing crazy to avoid miscommunications between dogs and injuries. This doesn't mean they don't get to have structured play, access to a dig pit or other fun games and enrichment during their stay. Being calm and quiet helps with them being more calm and relaxed with the interactions given I am a new face usually. I am always hyper aware on walks or when out of the house with pets, I don't allow strangers to approach or unknown off leash dogs out of utmost precaution. I don't like or go to dog parks for the same reason, just to he on the safe side with unknown dogs/people. I prefer 2 attachments to dogs coming to my home. So I do prefer a collar and harness to be on the dog at time of drop off. Harnesses come off when inside but collars do not as they still stay under my direct supervision.
About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 10 years old, my dad always had 3-4 dogs around and I love to play, feed and walk them. I raised a pup until the age of 13. I have taken care of dogs of all ages including 2 senior dogs 10+, I’m very well equipped to manage puppies and senior dogs and everyone in between. I will take very good care of your dog and will make sure it feels safe and loved. I work from home and have a very flexible schedule so I can accommodate daily walks and more. I’m available for boarding on weekends and anytime after 5PM. I live in a good sized ground floor apartment with access to a fenced backyard with no other pets around. I live 5 minute walk away from Needham Park so there will be lots of opportunities for walks and to play. I can accommodate any type of dog and will ensure they feel safe and cared for.
“We were visiting Nova Scotia from NE Ohio. We were staying in Amherst Shore but visiting the Halifax area and Peggy’s Cove for a day. We couldn’t leave the pup in the camper for that long but needed somewhere for him for a few hours while we went to the Maritime museum. Everything worked out perfectly from drop off to pick up. I felt very comfortable leaving him with Emily and he seemed very happy and comfortable when we picked him up. If we are ever back in the area would definitely consider leaving him with her again.”

About: I am a 28-year-old working from home who loves animals. I currently have a 15-year-old orange cat at home. I have lived with and cared for multiple cats and dogs, as well as special needs pets who need additional medical care. I am looking to spend more times with animals while getting some exercise and helping other families out. I am also looking to drop in to care for pets, as my dog got older she had a harder time being home alone for long days and I want to be able to help other families and pet owners with this. I'm open to boarding and day care, my cat is very friendly, however, any pets for boarding or day care need to be respectful of giving other animals space as the 'old man' isn’t used to puppy energy anymore. If I could have more pets I would! I look forward to spending time with your pets, helping them exercise and have some company! I'm currently working from home so being able to get out and go for walks, or check in with your pets is a great addition to my day! Working from home also gives me the freedom to drop in or go for a walk anytime. I'm experienced with dogs of all ages, sizes and temperaments and always follow an owners instructions and preferences when it comes to their own animals. I currently work remotely and love the chance to get out of the house during the day. My schedule is pretty flexible to check in and walk dogs. I can have other pets in my home on a limited basis and can continue their usual routine when they're with me. I'm also more than happy to visit your pet. I'm comfortable crating animals and following their usual routine to make sure they're enjoying themselves.
About: Hi there! I'm a lifelong dog lover with over 20 years of experience caring for dogs—not professionally, but personally and passionately. Growing up with dogs taught me that they’re not just pets; they’re family. In 2021, my wife and I brought home our furbaby, Kopi, when he was just a puppy—and we’ve been inseparable ever since. We even brought him with us from the Philippines to Canada because he’s family to us in every way. I walk Kopi three times a day—every morning and twice in the evening—and we run together twice a week (Tuesdays 3K, Thursdays 5K) to keep him active and healthy. He’s potty trained, well-socialized, and loves meeting new furry friends. If your pup needs a walking buddy or a loving companion while you're away, me and Kopi would be thrilled to be your dog’s next best pawwwllls! 🐾💙 You can count on me to treat your pet with the same care and love I give to my own—like family. Just message me and if I'm free, let's make your pup happy! Since I'm already walking my dog(kopi) three times a day, adding another pup to the pack is no problem at all! Walks aren’t just routine for me—they’re a fun, essential part of your dog’s day. I see it as their time to stay active, explore the world, and enjoy meeting (and sniffing!) their furry friends. Whether it's a quick stroll or a longer adventure, I'm happy to match your dog’s pace and energy. Let me know your preferred times—morning, afternoon, or evening—and I’ll do my best to fit it in! You can trust that I’ll treat both with the utmost respect and care. When I’m out with your pup, I always stay alert and mindful of the environment. I carefully observe surroundings to avoid potential hazards and make sure your dog feels safe and comfortable at all times. As a fellow dog parent, I understand how important it is to leave your furbaby in trustworthy hands. You can count on me to care for them just like I do my own—lovingly, responsibly, and with plenty of tail wags.

About: From my first family cat at age 3, to the German Shepherd I rescued and I trained to win two 4-H County Obediance Championships, to the two wonderful cats my kids and I adopted from the SPCA, I've spent my whole life loving and caring for cats and dogs, and I look forward to caring for and loving yours:) As a full-time high school Music and English teacher, I'm currently available late afternoons, evenings and weekends. But in the summer, I will have much more availability. My teenagers are old enough to stay home on their own, so short-term house sitting and overnight pet care are also possible for me. I'm not able to care for pets in my home, as I have two cats that may not appreciate animal vistors. However, I can visit your home, and possibly stay overnight short term.
“Buddy does love to watch the garbage truck & a few other big trucks. Always loves his walks with Karen & watches for her arrival & watches her leave in the window. I never have to worry about not seeing Karen’s arrival!”

About: Ive grown up caring for animals my entire life: dogs, cats, and chickens! What makes me a great sitter is that I genuinely love animals and my goal is to make them feel as comfortable and happy as possible. I am also an active person so your dog will always come home well-exercised after a walk with me! I work part time and can be pretty accommodating with your schedule. Mornings, afternoons or evenings - I am sure we can make something work :) In my home, my cats are my family and are treated as such. I make it a priority to play with them everyday and make sure that they have toys available to help stimulate them. In your home, I will prioritize yours and your pets boundaries by following all given instructions carefully and I will always be a transparent and timely communicator.
“Wren is wonderful. Lola, our dog connected with her immediately. One can tell Wren loves animals. Wren is great with communicating with me about Lola’s walks and our dog walking schedule. This is the first time I’ve used this app to find a dog walker. I highly recommend this app and very much Wren.”

“Emily was great walking Austin for a couple of evenings when we were tied up. She was quick to respond to our last minute request. She was very punctual and Austin had great walks with her. Thanks Emily!”

About: Animals have always been a huge part of my life. I recently said goodbye to my two senior pets, my sweet greyhound and my talkative Siamese/Himalayan mix, who lived to 14.5 and 17. After years of loving and caring for them, I find myself missing the daily rhythm of walks, meals and quiet cuddle time. That’s why I’ve joined Rover: to share my time and care with other people’s beloved pets. I’m experienced with senior animals and pets with special needs. I’ve helped with mobility issues, administered oral medications, applied ointments, and handled daily routines with gentleness and patience. I’ve also walked and cared for dogs of all sizes and temperaments including golden retrievers, border collies and amstaffs. So I’m comfortable adjusting to different personalities and energy levels. Along with my personal experience, I’ve also provided pet sitting and drop-in visits for friends and family over the years, caring for both dogs and cats of all ages. If you’re currently working on training, I’m happy to help support your efforts by providing consistent, positive reinforcement during our time together. I believe in treating every pet with kindness, patience, and encouragement. I work in communications and marketing. With a hybrid work environment, I have the flexibility to support your pet’s needs. I’m dependable, communicative, and committed to making sure both you and your pet feel supported. Happy to offer meet & greet at your home (if it’s for drop-in service), parks and public spaces to ensure you and your pet are comfortable with me.
“Erica has been exceptional with our dog & now helping us out while we adjust to having a new puppy in the family. She is very reliable which helps ease our worries while we are working. I look forward to getting off work & seeing all the pics of our dogs getting along and lots of smiles when Erica walks in on their furry faces. Thank you for all your help we really appreciate you.”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs and starting dog-walking for neighbours at a young age. Frequently entrusted to dog-sit for friends and family. Currently I own one cat. Currently I am available both AM and PM on weekdays and weekends. Right now I am working part-time remotely so my schedule is quite flexible! I live near a park that is great for daily walks with dogs. It has an off-leash area if that is allowed for the dog.
About: Hi! I'm Dakota. Born in Moncton, NB, grew up In Sackville. I am a red seal chef, trained in P.E.I at the Culinary Institute of Canada. I now live downtown Halifax working for Obladee wine bar. I've owned pets my whole life, as well as taking care of familly pets. I've also worked for UPS and having to de-escalate agitated dogs was a daily occurrence. I am available mon-friday anytime after 3pm. And all day on weekends. Ive just moved to Halifax and most of the time have a wide open schedule. Not doing this for money but for the love of the game. No dogs allowed in my appartment building sadly. My 2 cats litter boxes are cleaned twice a day. Fed every morning and evening like clockwork. They have a water dish in almost every room of the house. I realize how habitual animals can be and will follow any intructions to the letter.
“Jaime was great with walking my dog! She answered promptly, was great at communicating including letting me know when she picked up her and feedback on the walk itself. Will be hiring her again!”

About: I grew up with a lot of animals. I feel happy spending time with them and they are indispensable to me. and I love animals! I'm finishing school so I can spend more time with pets. The job is part-time so it's very flexible and pet sitting fits into my lifestyle. “It’s obvious from Kayleigh’s reports that she really takes the time to get to know the dogs in her care. She brings Fitz to some of his favourite places and he’s so happy and spent at the end of the day. She really cares about their experiences :)”

About: We are three students at Dalhousie University originating from Toronto. We have been feeling like our home has been lacking some puppy energy and have been looking forward to hosting some for friends! We have experience with both puppies and anxious dogs and with only one dog in our care at a time we are ready to give your pup our full attention. We are full-time students, however, our schedules allow one of us to be home for most of the day. The house is never left empty for more than four hours. Pet care is our top priority and while at our home we look forward to giving your pet many cuddles (if they are a cuddler) and as much support and care as they require and could want!

“Deanna felt like the right fit from the beginning. She has a genuine love for your fur baby. I never once worried and I know Milo won’t want to leave when we go to pick him up! Highly recommend Deanna.”

“Renita and her husband were so wonderful to my pup, Wrigley. I loved having updates with pictures and videos throughout the day, as he hasn’t been without us much and we were worried how he would be. It was reassuring to see how comfortable he was and they made him feel right at home. I also love that they only take on one dog at a time, so I know he’s getting their full attention. I would absolutly book with them again!”
