“We couldn't ask for a more reliable and caring person and will definitely book with them again! Loved the photos, our dog was so happy. Allowed us to enjoy the wedding we went to.”

“Christy is so great with my cats. They are entertained fed and cared for while I am gone. It is a relief to know Christy is there to look after them and make sure they have what they need while I am gone. Thanks so much Christy. The cats already can't wait for me to leave town again.”

“Kevin is great. My sister and I have 2 dogs who were rescued from puppy mills but are still very nervous and afraid of people. Kevin was very understanding and was gentle and great with them. I also have a cat that is 18 and Kevin always spends some time with her, Kevin is very responsible and dependable.”

About: Hi! I’m currently available as a drop-in sitter with an open and flexible schedule, and I would love to help take care of your pet(s)! I have experience taking care of both cats and dogs since I was a kid, and I’ve also been the sole owner of a cat for 4 years now. All pets receive the upmost care on my watch, and I would treat your pet as if it were my own. I’m excellent at maintaining schedules and routine care (feeding, medication, some grooming etc.), following instructions, sending updates, being reliable and adaptable, and overall ensuring your pet’s needs are met. I’m very flexible and available any day of the week and most times of the day, but I would prefer at least a day’s notice beforehand for when you need care. In my home, there’s my 1 cat as well as 2 dogs that are my parents’ dogs. With my cat, she has a daily feeding schedule (4 divided meals at 4-hour intervals) that I’ve maintained for the last few years, and I also scoop her litter daily, keep up with her routine care, and make sure she gets lots of attention and stimulation. I also help with my parents’ dogs when needed as well such as letting them outside, feeding them and providing water when needed, taking one of them on walks, etc.
About: I love being around dogs and treat them as family, as they should be! I currently have 3 fur babies, two back labs who are brother and sister and a pitbull. They are my world and I will treat your dogs as such as well. Every dog deserves love and cuddles! I've worked with puppies through senior dogs and understand that every pup has its own personality and needs. I have experience giving medication as my girl receives daily meds for her Addisons. I love being active with dogs whether that's playing catch in the backyard, tug-o-war or going on long walks. I can't wait to meet your dog! I currently work from home so if I'm staying at your place of residence for an extended stay your family member will receive all the attention needed during the days. I have experience crating dogs if needed while I stay at your home. Because I work remotely I'll be able to play with and walk your pet throughout the day.
“She was prompt and clear about what she did with the dogs. She sent multiple photos each visit. She also went above and beyond like removing a wasp nest from our porch or bringing in our Amazon packages!”

About: I love dogs and recently had to say goodbye to my beloved Lab mix, Bear. I’m not ready to bring a new dog into the family yet, but I’m eager to get to know and care for your beloved furry family members! I grew up with a Dalmatian named Pal, a Heinz 57 called Skipper, and have loved many other dogs along the way, including Maddy, Blu, Mercedes, Birdie, and Moomin. I’m currently working part-time and eager to fill some time meeting, playing with, and caring for your beloved pets so you have peace of mind. I’ll come to you and check in with your dog(s), allow them to relieve themselves, take them for a walk, ensure their water bowl is full and give them some loving attention when you can’t be there.
About: I grew up with dogs, and miss them dearly in my life! Friends, neighbors and family have relied on me for years to take care of their pets: while away traveling, or in hardships. From closely monitoring my friend's cat after surgery when she couldn't call off work, to weeklong stays in family homes with rambunctious puppies, I've done it all. I've always had a passion for animals, including exotic pet care! I have personally kept a freshwater aquarium and understand that fish and reptile care is much more detailed and intensive than many may first assume. You can rest easy knowing your pets will be in good hands, and will be given the detailed care and attention they deserve. I'm currently in recovery from a chronic pain condition. This gives me incredible flexibility to take on care at any time, and give your pets the attention they deserve! Depending on my health, my availabily may fluctuate, but now that I'm finally on the upswing I'm ready to be active and my abilites will only increase in the coming months! I am currently not offering care through my own home, but I am happy to provide check ins on many varieties of pets! I adore reptiles and exotic pets, and will happily feed, administer care, and help wear them out by playing inside, in the yard, or walking the nearby area.

About: I was born and raised in Southeastern Minnesota on a farm and have been surrounded by animals my whole life. I have helped raise horses, chickens, cats and dogs, bunnies and pigs. I originally was going to become a Veterinarian but have taken a different route yet still love getting as much time with animals as I can. I'm also a very active individual and love to ensure your animal gets adequate exercise too. :-) I lived in Seattle for 5 years for school and had the joy of dog sitting many wonderful pets. I can guarantee your animal will be well taken care of and gets lots of attention. I care for them like they are my own. Beau is an active GSP who loves all dogs and humans.
“Jenna did a great job taking care of our deaf cat. She provided great feedback on the Rover cards and cleaned up after he spit up a hair ball. Would highly recommend!”

“Derek was wonderful to work with and took such great care of our elderly dog. He ended up struggling a little with us being away from him and Derek did a wonderful job keeping him happy and comfortable in our absence.”

About: I am currently a student at the University of Minnesota studying Animal Science and Veterinary Care, and I am looking to gain additional hands-on experience working with animals. Since I am unable to have pets where I currently live, I am excited for opportunities to care for and spend time with companion animals through dog walking and pet sitting. I have experience caring for family pets, as well as working with dogs in a doggy daycare setting. My experience includes feeding, walking, basic training, cleaning, and providing overall daily care. I am passionate about animal care and would love the opportunity to work with more companion animals while continuing to build my experience in the veterinary field. I am dependable, patient, and committed to making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for. I am currently working part-time and taking the summer off from college, which gives me a more flexible schedule and allows me to dedicate additional time to caring for animals. I am hoping to gain more hands-on experience interacting with pets and would love the opportunity to be available and flexible for new clients and their scheduling needs. Through my veterinary studies, I have been learning about the basic needs and proper care required for animals, including health, safety, and daily routines. In addition, I have experience dog sitting for family members and working at a doggy daycare, which has helped me better understand the importance of safe, attentive, and compassionate pet care. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I strive to maintain their normal routine as closely as possible to help them feel comfortable and secure. I focus on providing proper exercise, feeding, supervision, cleanliness, and plenty of attention while ensuring their overall safety and well-being.
“I just love April and how she takes care of my cat! I’m so glad I found her. She has cats also so she always tries different fun things with my cat. I like that. And if I didn’t want April all to myself I would tell everyone to hire her for their pets…! She is great!”

“Erin was great. She checked in on my 2 cats for 4 days. She did a really nice job dealing with their personalities and figuring out what was best for them! I will definitely reach out to Erin in the future!”

About: Accepting daycare and drop-in visits! All dogs should be fully house trained if daycare is required. We are not able to accept potty pad trained dogs in our home. Care of dogs has been with me since birth. There has not been a single year in which I did not own at least one dog. My wife and I both work full time from home and have one dog of our own. Loving and caring for dogs is built in second nature for us. Our entire daily routine and schedule revolves around making sure they go out whenever they need and always get ample time running, playing, and of course, resting! We have ~8,000 sq. ft. of fenced in backyard. Our yard is well maintained and treated for all pests. We have ~2,500 sq. ft. inside our home that will be available at all times for dogs to run, play, rest, and even watch a movie on our projector screen downstairs. The fence is vinyl and 6 ft tall for the majority and only the gates are 4ft chain link. We can offer crates, blankets, dog beds, and fans to keep the large dogs cooler if needed. We charge $50 per daycare stay...Here's why: - Extremely flexible and no-nonsense pickup and drop off scheduling. (no extra charges for early or late pickup/arrival) - 1 daycare stay is considered up to 12 hours -At our house your dogs might as well be royalty. They can go outside all day long and sleep anywhere they like and it will never cost you more. -We DO NOT watch more than 2 dogs at a time (for our safety, your dogs safety) - No kennels (unless this is their routine) - No cement walls - No anxiety from 50 other dogs barking -We will let them have an entire bed or a couch downstairs, or set up a kennel for them if they prefer to sleep enclosed. -We are rarely away at any point and the dogs have constant attention with friends to play with -We will occasionally walk your dog without distance limits or up-charges if we decide to go out -We will sit and eat with your dogs and even hand-feed them if they are nervous -We will send you photos and videos... more than you probably want -You can bring an entire car of equipment and toys for your dogs and we don't care, we will be standing there at the door ready to help. - We believe we provide an astronomically better environment than any local daycare place ever could, while also placing our home in the crosshairs of pet damage and accidents every day - This is our home, where we live and work full-time. Dogs can cause extensive damage and unexpected repairs and maintenance, especially if dealing with separation anxiety. - We do not charge more for holidays - We do not keep 100% of what is charged (Rover receives 20%) We are both home full-time and rarely leave for anything longer than 2 hours. Our life is simply built around our dogs and their needs. When we watch other dogs we simply pretend like they are our own and adapt the same free and open-ended schedule to them! We have a large fenced in yard (8,000 sq ft) and allow pets on all furniture, and access to roam the entire house. If there is ever a time when two dogs may not bond well, we simply utilize 1 of our 4 levels to separate them for brief periods or for their entire stay.

Andy did an awesome job checking in our senior kitty. Instructions were followed, our home was left clean, and Andy took the time to get to know our cat, provide some additional treats, and get some play time in. We really appreciated the communication and the photos!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
