“She stayed at my house and took care of my dog she did a fantastic job! I am so pleased with her! She made sure she didn’t leave a mess in my house and took pictures of the dog all the time it was great I am so pleased I would definitely use her again”

“We were extremely satisfied with Sam’s care of our 15-month-old Chihuahua, Max. He is very active and requires a lot of attention, and I left Sam with quite a few notes about his care, including administering his ear drops. She followed everything perfectly and took excellent care of him while staying in our home. Sam was responsible, attentive, and clearly wonderful with Max. She also left our home absolutely spotless, which we really appreciated. We will definitely be rebooking her services and highly recommend Sam to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter!”

About: I’ve taken care of Cats and Dogs growing up. Some of my best memories came from my Yorkie-Terrior named Billy and Beagle named Ruby. Bonding with your pets is such an invaluable experience that can be life-changing for all those involved. Currently between jobs, searching for part time work. I’ll have loads of time to provide quality care for your precious pets. I’m available for House Sitting, Drop-In/Out visits and Walks. :) I follow instructions listed by each client to the T. I take my time to read carefully written instructions. I may ask for clarification on any request, solely to ensure I know the best way to properly look after, walk and take care of each pet, (family member,) as if they were my own.
“Thank you for taking such good care of Trapper...and for taking out the garbage and putting the sheets in the wash. I sure hope you didn't give Trapper your address as he most definitely would try to follow you home. I can't remember the last time he had so much fun and loving.”

“Gloria took perfect care of my pups Drake and Nylah. Nylah is 10 months old and still adjusting to the house but Gloria was sweet and made sure she was comfortable and of course Drake adored her! Can’t wait to book her again!”

“Chloe was fantastic! She looked after our dog and two cats during our international move from the UK to the US, including being there when they arrived before us. Her communication was excellent throughout, and we felt completely at ease knowing our pets were in such good hands. Highly recommended!”

“Rose did an excellent job house sitting our dog while we were away for the weekend. She is great at communicating and sending updates on how everything is going. Rose always leaves the house clean and the dog happy! Thanks Rose!”

“Hannah was fantastic! We have an elderly, small dog who is always anxious around new people, but somehow she warmed up to Hannah immediately. Hannah did her oral and eye medication daily without difficulty, and kept in great communication with us throughout the whole stay. We will definitely be asking Hannah to dog sit in the future!”

“Destiny was a great sitter for my aging pup. She kept me well informed as to what they were doing, her walks, play and rest. She followed my instructions, sent photos and responded to any questions I had while away. My house was clean and well cared for, too. My dog, who usually gets very sad when I'm away, was happy and her regular self when I returned. I would definitely recommend!”

“Alex was incredible. She just gets it!Great with four dogs who never missed a beat with Alex. Alex stayed three nights and left the house impeccable. She graciously agreed to vacuum and pick up poop in the back yard. We came home to a house that looked as good as when we left. Thank you, Alex!”

She arrived on time, was very respectful of my home, and kept me updated throughout the day, which gave me complete peace of mind. “Alondra did such a good job taking care of my baby Nuve. I truly appreciate her flexibility in working with my schedule and keeping me updated all day throughout with pictures and messages. Being in a new town for vacation it was important for me to be updated and she gave me peace of mind. Definitely recommend Alondra. 👌”

“I absolutely appreciate how such good care she took of my dog , My dog is normally bad behaved and he behaved amazingly for her. He was walked 3-4 times a day , every thing went according to plan and everything went smoothly. I plan on booking her once again.”

About: Dogs have always been a huge part of my life. Growing up, I helped care for my family’s Shih Tzu, Kelly, who lived a long life and gave me experience caring for an older dog and understanding the extra patience and attention senior pets need. More recently, I had my Frenchie, Tyson, who recently passed away. We spent so much time together going on daily 3-mile walks, cuddling, playing, and simply enjoying each other’s company. Caring for him taught me how important consistency, love, patience, and attentiveness are when it comes to pets. What sets me apart is the genuine care and connection I build with animals. I understand that pets are family, and I treat them with the same love, comfort, and attention I gave my own dogs. Whether your pet enjoys long walks, playtime, cuddles, or just calm companionship, I’m happy to adapt to their personality and routine. I’ve always had a dog in my life, and I truly enjoy the companionship, activity, and happiness they bring every day. My goal is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while giving owners peace of mind while they’re away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because I genuinely enjoy being active and spending time with dogs. I’m available every morning for walks and again after 5:30 PM for afternoon/evening walks. I love starting the day with long walks and giving pets the attention, exercise, and companionship they need. I’m also available for boarding on Fridays through Sundays. On weekends, I enjoy spending extra time with pups, whether that’s relaxing together, grabbing a pup cup, or visiting the dog park if that’s something your dog enjoys! I always want pets to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for whether they’re staying in my home or I’m caring for them in theirs. In my home, pets will have lots of attention, supervised outdoor time, and space to relax. We have a small fenced-in yard, and I love spending time outside with dogs for fresh air, playtime, and walks. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I’m happy to follow their normal routine and any instructions they provide to help their pet feel comfortable and secure. If crating is part of their routine, I’m comfortable using a crate both in my home or the client’s home when needed. I understand that every pet has different needs and personalities, so I always try to make sure they feel safe, loved, and stress-free while in my care

Hillary took amazing care of our two dogs for a week and a half while we were on our honeymoon, and we’re so lucky to have her. She is extremely communicative, thoughtful, and caring to our dogs. She leaves no stone unturned and always follows care instructions.

HIGHLY recommend Alondra for looking after your pets!! We booked her to look after our two cats and a dog (and our home) for 10 days while we were out of the country and couldn't be happier with how well she cared for our animals and respected our home. We'd never had someone stay in our home to look after the animals before, so we were very nervous, but Alondra immediately put our minds at ease when we met her. We could tell straight away that she adores animals and cares for them deeply. She was extremely gracious with her time, providing a thorough meet and greet at our home before we booked, and kept us updated with photos and messages throughout the whole booking. If you're looking for someone to look after your pets, look no further - you've found them! Hit that "book now" button. Thank you, Alondra! We'll be in touch again soon! - Paul & Cait

Our first and certainly (hopefully!) not last experience with Claire was wonderful in every way. From start to finish, she was polite, friendly, communicative, and responsive. She went out of her way to make sure our senior pup got the exercise and special attention she needed during our week away from home and provided regular and thorough updates. Any pup would be incredibly lucky to be in her company and care.

Katie was amazing with our highly active Australian shepherd and senior cat. She their food and medications instructions perfectly and took our dog on long walks every morning. She is punctual and super tidy, leaving our house just as we had left it. It’s obvious that she truly loves animals and goes above and beyond to make them feel cared for when their families are away!

Caitlin was a perfect sitter! Pictures, movies, reports, all I needed to be sure my girl was safe and happy. Caitlin was very accommodating, doing little extras I needed done for the impending snowstorm. She was also very flexible about changing dates. Highly recommend!!

Anhelina is an angel!! she took the absolute best care of my kitties overnight, including one who was a little ill. I felt completely at ease from the moment I met her and thru her whole stay and will use her again without hesitation. i’ve been using Rover for years and have been lucky to find some wonderful pet sitters, and Anhelina is right up there. I highly recommend her to you.

Marley did a fantastic job with both my dogs! She is very attentive to the specific details per dog, per personality, habits and all! They had a nice time with Marley, she had a calming effect on both of them! I highly recommend Marley for both dog and cat sitting!
Cece is the best! Her love for cats is genuine and I didn’t worry at all about my 2 cats while I was away. She took such good care of them, and one of them is diabetic and needs insulin twice a day, so not always easy. I highly recommend Cece and will definitely book with her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Bridgeport walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Bridgeport maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Bridgeport choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bridgeport. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
