“Rhonda is a caring soul. We were so happy with her immediately. And most importantly, Winnie took to her right away and you know what they say about that when dogs respond that way....Thanks Rihonda !”

“Rose was a very engaging and dynamic sitter. She asked important questions and was very attentive to details with my puppies, both of whom adored her. It's clear how much of an animal lover Rose is, and anyone would be so lucky to have her watch their dogs. I would love to book with Rose again, and hope the opportunity will happen again.”

About: I have been surrounded by animals for most of my life and truly believe they are some of the most loyal and loving companions. I currently have a 16-year-old Papillon, and I was blessed to have my Pit Bull for 13 wonderful years before she passed away last year. Caring for senior dogs has taught me patience, attentiveness, and the importance of providing gentle, loving care. I also have experience caring for my sister’s two Bengal cats, whom I lived with and helped care for over the course of two years. This has given me experience with both dogs and cats and an understanding that every pet has a unique personality and needs. In addition, I worked at Dogtopia, where I cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. That experience strengthened my ability to multitask, remain calm in busy environments, and ensure every dog received the attention, affection, and care they deserved. During the school year, I work as a substitute teacher, which gives me a flexible schedule. I adapt quickly to new routines and understand how important it is for pet owners to know their furry family members are in safe, caring hands. When caring for your pets, I will treat them as if they were my own—with patience, kindness, respect, and lots of love. Whether it’s going for walks, playing, cuddling on the couch, or simply keeping them company, my goal is to make them feel comfortable, happy, and loved while you’re away. I’ll also treat your home with the same care and respect that I would expect for my own. I’m a substitute teacher during the school year, which gives me a flexible schedule and allows me to make time for walks, playtime, cuddles, and making sure pets feel comfortable and cared for. My day usually starts at 5:30am or 6:00am and ends by 4pm, with my weekends being free and many holidays off. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow all instructions exactly as provided to ensure their routine stays consistent and stress-free. I’m very neat, organized, and respectful of the home, and I always treat it as if it were my own. I make sure doors and gates are securely closed at all times, keep a close eye on pets when they’re outside, and stay alert for any wildlife or other potential hazards. My goal is to keep pets safe, comfortable, and happy while maintaining a clean and well-cared-for home environment.
About: I’ve grown up surrounded by pets and have always loved animals. I’m currently a proud dog and cat owner, so I understand how much our pets mean to us and how important it is to have someone trustworthy care for them. I offer dog walking and drop-in visits for dogs, cats, and other pets. I’m responsible, dependable, and attentive, and I’ll make sure your pet gets the care, attention, exercise, and affection they need while you’re away. I’m happy to follow your pet’s normal routine and will treat your animals like they’re my own. I’m a single stay at home mom, so I have lots of time to care for and walk your beloved pets ! I drop my kids at school in the mornings and pick them up in the afternoon, so my availability is very flexible ! I’ve loved and cared for pets my whole life! I grew up with dogs, cats, and just about every caged animal you can think of. I currently have a 3-year-old Maltipoo and a 5-year-old cat, so I understand how much our pets mean to us!
About: I have grown up having pets, so I understand how they become part of the family and the importance of having someone trustworthy to take care of them. I have been pet sitting for families throughout Fairfield County and New Haven County over the last six years. Whether your dog is small or large, needs special food or medication, likes long walks or just playing in the backyard, I have experience with it all! During the summer, I will be available for all pet care needs! Let’s create a schedule that best aligns with my part time job and your pet’s routine. I make sure your pet is cared for in the same way I would look after my cats and dog, with plenty of affection, exercise and treats! I do my best to follow their routine while you are away, ensuring your pet feels comfortable and loved.
“Madalys was amazing with our cat. She was quick to respond and arranged a meeting with us before booking. We could tell she really payed attention to what we asked of her. She even took notes to be sure. She was very patient with our cat and didn’t pressure her to open up which I really appreciate!”

About: I’ve grown up with animals of all kinds from as early as I can remember. Being the oldest of my siblings I was the first to have to take on the pet care chores, and this included both our dogs and our cats, and the other types of animals we had in our household. I have pet care experience with dogs and cats, as well as other pets too. When I moved out on my own with my previous partner (2012-2017) we had adopted three rescued cats, and I was the main administer of the diabetic cat’s insulin and late IV fluid treatments. My ex kept our cats in the split, but in 2018 I adopted my first dog completely on my own. She’s a rescue pit bull mix and now, with my current husband, she is joined by another rescued pit bull mix and a rescued cat. Last year we also adopted a red ear slider turtle off the street in Philadelphia and he now enjoys his aquatic terrarium with his guppy and pleco friends. In 2023 I briefly worked for a dog walking company in Ridgefield and was bit by one of the client’s dogs, unprovoked, and because of that I left the service after being blamed for the outburst and attack (despite telling the owners and the employer that the dog was getting increasingly aggressive with me and I wasn’t comfortable walking him anymore). It was the only time I had ever had an animal turn on me like that and it made me rethink working for a service where I wasn’t listened to or given proper protection. My husband and I have been Rover clients since we moved to Connecticut in 2023 and I am very happy to say we have never had a negative experience, which is why I have decided to lend my services to other pets and families in the area that are in need of an experienced pet caretaker. I am a professional actor so I have days that are marked off for auditions and work or rehearsals, however it is not a consistent time or place. I work throughout the Northeast, NYC, and the Mid Atlantic currently with my acting opportunities, but I am also open to short term travel as well. Because of that, my availability is very open some weeks and not as much on others, depending on what projects I am currently involved in and what the scheduling is like. I would love to spend more time your pets in my downtime and give them the attention they require, since mine are pretty saturated in it regularly. I have two dogs, which are extremely friendly and love other dogs, people, and cats! Our cat is very aloof so they wouldn’t be seen much in cases where pet sitting at my home is needed. Our yard is not fenced in but I am very accustomed to taking them out for walks, or having them leashed under my supervision in our yard. Because I live in Newtown, there are plenty of places to get some quality walks in, and we are also not far from open public dog parks either if that suits your furry friend! I also have my own car which I am more than comfortable transporting your pet in or coming to you for check ins or walks. Our dogs are up to date on vaccines so that is not a worry either, and I am diligent in making sure everyone has a great time when their friends (and our human friends) are over too!
About: I work at a doggy day care, and spend over 25 hours every week there. I’m experienced with dogs of all sizes and believe every dog deserves all the love and care they can get. I work part-time with dogs, so pet care naturally fits into my schedule. I’m used to early mornings, mid-day breaks and evening cuddle sessions. I’m happy to fit my schedule around your pets needs. I make sure they are always supervised, comfortable, and in a secure environment. I follow any special instructions provided and I’m used to keeping dogs happy, healthy, and stress-free! With lots of love and care included!
About: Responsible, caring, and dependable pet caregiver and proud dog mom with experience providing loving care, walks, feeding, and companionship. I am CPR certified and work as a medical assistant, so safety and attention to detail are very important to me. I treat every pet like family and always provide reliable communication and care. I currently work full time during the week, but I am available on weekends for dog walking and pet sitting. I have flexible availability on Saturdays and Sundays and can accommodate different times as needed I treat all pets as if they were my own. I give them the care and attention they need. I am trustworthy, loving and caring.
“Kayla was a wonderful sitter with my german shepherd, Hershey. She kept me very informed and sent adorable pictures and videos throughout the day. She’s a very kind girl who will take care of your dog with the utmost care and respect! Will definitely be using her services again!”

About: My name is Clarissa, 29. I currently reside in Black Rock. I grew up with dogs, cats, ferrets, birds, chickens/ducks, you name it! My love for animals began at a very young age! I worked professionally at boarding places and pet hotels in my mid teens till early 20s. But besides attending to my pets I grew up with, starting around the age of 12, I began to care for my neighbors, friends and family’s pets - which I still do till this day and love every moment of it :) I am currently working part-time but my hours are very flexible as I create my own schedule. Your pet would have much time for love and care :) For dogs and cats in my home, they are free to roam around and be on furniture. I live in one bedroom apartment alone, the building is quiet and safe. We have a fence in back yard for dogs, or I can take your dog on a walk, go to the park or a little hike.
About: I’ve had and watched lots of different pets. I own two large rescue dogs, and have watched many others. I’ve also cared for small dogs like Yorkers and bichons as well. I have owned 3 cats so I have experience with cats as well. I don’t know anything about caring for bunnies, rodents or reptiles. I work part time. My days off are Mondays, Wednesdays and every other Sunday. I am happy to do overnights within a 30min drive from Trumbull, CT. Tues 2-8pm Thurs 10-4 Friday 10-4 Saturday 10-3 Every other Sunday 10-2 I offer in-home care, walks around the park or local neighborhood, hikes, and/or play time in the yard. I prefer not to bring your pets into my own home as my dogs don’t always like having other animals visiting.
“Jay is a very personable and responsible person who endeared him self seamlessly to our cats and dog with his calm and attentive approach. We were very comfortable leaving them in his care. Jay kept us updated on his drop ins, followed our protocol when a storm was approaching, setting our pup up to be comfortable despite his storm anxiety. My pets were very relaxed and happy on our return. Our senior dog was checking our front door anticipating Jay's arrival the first morning we were home, a clear indication that he very much enjoyed his visits. We highly recommend Jay.”

About: I’m a registered nurse from Colombia and a lifelong animal lover. Back home, I have a wonderful Bull Terrier who has been my loyal companion for 9 years. He still lives in Colombia with my sister, where he is well cared for and deeply loved. Since moving to the U.S. four years ago, I’ve continued sharing my love for animals by caring for cats, dogs, and even birds. I’m patient, responsible, and very caring. I truly enjoy spending time with pets taking them for walks, feeding them, playing with them, or simply keeping them company so they feel happy and safe while their owners are away. I can also help with light household tasks, such as watering plants or bringing in packages. If you’re looking for someone trustworthy, gentle, and attentive to care for your pet, I would love to help! Hope to meet you and your pet soon, Milena T. As a part-time worker, I organize my schedule to have flexible hours during mornings and afternoons. Caring for pets fits naturally into my weekly routine — I enjoy taking walks, feeding, and spending quality time with them every day. Their well-being becomes part of my own daily rhythm. When caring for pets, I make sure they feel calm, safe, and loved. I always follow the owner’s instructions carefully, keep their space clean, and pay close attention to their behavior. Whether at my home or the client’s, I create a peaceful and trustworthy environment where pets can relax and feel happy.
About: I have grown so fond of taking care of fur babies the more years I do it. I enjoy working with all different breeds and building a connection to the pets I take care of. I’ve learn to work with all ages, breeds, behaviors. The best part? Knowing that people entrust me to bring their fur babies back to me, and knowing that the dogs are excited to return. I have a part time job currently so I have plenty of time to be with your pet(s) whenever I’m not at work, so it’s flexible. I like to thoroughly ask questions about the dog I’ll be taking care of (food, any medications? Exercise? Do they like to play? Etc.) I want to make sure not only yourself but the dog is as comfortable as can be.

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Bridgeport
Grace is a kind and caring person. She takes such great care of my 2 cats while I'm away. The guilt of leaving them, while not gone completely, is dramatically lessened when I know Grace will be there to look after them. Great communication and daily photos and videos. Thank you Grace!

Alondra was wonderful with my cat Spike. She took care of everything he needed and sent me daily pictures and videos. She must be some kind of cat whisperer because Spike is usually very timid about strangers, but he seemed to warm right up to her! I will definitely be hiring her again! Highly recommend.

We had Lauren do drop in visits twice a day and stayed overnight with George for 16 days and she worked well with the schedule of the rotation of like 2 days drop in, three days overnight. She has watched George every time that we have gone away and she has built a nice relationship with George. We traveled to Austria and Italy during that time of late August and early September, and felt very comfortable and relaxed that she was responsible, very kind and responsive. We appreciate her and feel so lucky to have her for our George and he loves her too. Thank you you again Lauren💕🌺

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy.
