“Rhonda has been dropping in on cat visits for over a year when we are out of town. It makes us feel so at ease to leave knowing she is able to check in on our anxious and not so friendly to others cat. And Rhonda does so with humor and patience and a gentle care to make sure Rosie is well taken care of. Thank you so much Rhonda!”

“Kim was wonderful with our 10 week old puppy. She provided great care and feedback after doing 2 drop in visits. She maintained our routine as we are crate training and potty training our sweet little Maisie!”

“Madalys was amazing with our cat. She was quick to respond and arranged a meeting with us before booking. We could tell she really payed attention to what we asked of her. She even took notes to be sure. She was very patient with our cat and didn’t pressure her to open up which I really appreciate!”

About: I’ve grown up with animals of all kinds from as early as I can remember. Being the oldest of my siblings I was the first to have to take on the pet care chores, and this included both our dogs and our cats, and the other types of animals we had in our household. I have pet care experience with dogs and cats, as well as other pets too. When I moved out on my own with my previous partner (2012-2017) we had adopted three rescued cats, and I was the main administer of the diabetic cat’s insulin and late IV fluid treatments. My ex kept our cats in the split, but in 2018 I adopted my first dog completely on my own. She’s a rescue pit bull mix and now, with my current husband, she is joined by another rescued pit bull mix and a rescued cat. Last year we also adopted a red ear slider turtle off the street in Philadelphia and he now enjoys his aquatic terrarium with his guppy and pleco friends. In 2023 I briefly worked for a dog walking company in Ridgefield and was bit by one of the client’s dogs, unprovoked, and because of that I left the service after being blamed for the outburst and attack (despite telling the owners and the employer that the dog was getting increasingly aggressive with me and I wasn’t comfortable walking him anymore). It was the only time I had ever had an animal turn on me like that and it made me rethink working for a service where I wasn’t listened to or given proper protection. My husband and I have been Rover clients since we moved to Connecticut in 2023 and I am very happy to say we have never had a negative experience, which is why I have decided to lend my services to other pets and families in the area that are in need of an experienced pet caretaker. I am a professional actor so I have days that are marked off for auditions and work or rehearsals, however it is not a consistent time or place. I work throughout the Northeast, NYC, and the Mid Atlantic currently with my acting opportunities, but I am also open to short term travel as well. Because of that, my availability is very open some weeks and not as much on others, depending on what projects I am currently involved in and what the scheduling is like. I would love to spend more time your pets in my downtime and give them the attention they require, since mine are pretty saturated in it regularly. I have two dogs, which are extremely friendly and love other dogs, people, and cats! Our cat is very aloof so they wouldn’t be seen much in cases where pet sitting at my home is needed. Our yard is not fenced in but I am very accustomed to taking them out for walks, or having them leashed under my supervision in our yard. Because I live in Newtown, there are plenty of places to get some quality walks in, and we are also not far from open public dog parks either if that suits your furry friend! I also have my own car which I am more than comfortable transporting your pet in or coming to you for check ins or walks. Our dogs are up to date on vaccines so that is not a worry either, and I am diligent in making sure everyone has a great time when their friends (and our human friends) are over too!
“Annabelle is quick to respond and was able to do a drop-in visit for me without a lot of notice. She was great at updating me on the visit and I will definitely be using her again.”

“Taylor is fantastic with our dog! She takes great care of her, is on time and communicates clearly about her visits! Cheez is always happy and calm when we come home from her time with Taylor and we love that we have someone we can trust to care for her while we’re away!”

“This is our third booking with Christyna. When our heater went out due to the snowstorm, she didn’t hesitate to head back and help reset it. Thanks to Christyna, we came home to a happy and healthy Mai.”

“Pam was so great with our two kitties while we were away. She was on time every day and we truly appreciated the extra steps she took like vacuuming and offering to take out the trash. Would definitely book again. Thanks!”

“Jen is a great sitter as always and is our go to sitter! She does a great job keeping Nico’s litter and food areas clean, and sends cute videos at every visit! Definitely recommend”

“Lindsay was so great with my cat and dog! She gave them lots of attention and helped look after them (litter box, food, water, bathroom break etc!) She was also very communicative as well as friendly. I appreciate her helping us out the last two days and will definitely be asking her to come back.”

“Julie is an amazing pet sister! She took a great care of my two cats. She followed all care instructions that I left for her. She kept me updated on my cats every visit and was able to warm up my timid cats. I will be definitely using Julie's pet sitting services again.”

About: I’ve taken care of Cats and Dogs growing up. Some of my best memories came from my Yorkie-Terrior named Billy and Beagle named Ruby. Bonding with your pets is such an invaluable experience that can be life-changing for all those involved. Currently between jobs, searching for part time work. I’ll have loads of time to provide quality care for your precious pets. I’m available for House Sitting, Drop-In/Out visits and Walks. :) I follow instructions listed by each client to the T. I take my time to read carefully written instructions. I may ask for clarification on any request, solely to ensure I know the best way to properly look after, walk and take care of each pet, (family member,) as if they were my own.
“Katie is a kind sweet person who I trust to be in my home and to take care of my two precious fur babies. She arrived on time stayed the duration of the expected visit time and completed the tasks of which I requested upon scheduling this visit.”

Grace is a kind and caring person. She takes such great care of my 2 cats while I'm away. The guilt of leaving them, while not gone completely, is dramatically lessened when I know Grace will be there to look after them. Great communication and daily photos and videos. Thank you Grace!

Alondra was wonderful with my cat Spike. She took care of everything he needed and sent me daily pictures and videos. She must be some kind of cat whisperer because Spike is usually very timid about strangers, but he seemed to warm right up to her! I will definitely be hiring her again! Highly recommend.

We had Lauren do drop in visits twice a day and stayed overnight with George for 16 days and she worked well with the schedule of the rotation of like 2 days drop in, three days overnight. She has watched George every time that we have gone away and she has built a nice relationship with George. We traveled to Austria and Italy during that time of late August and early September, and felt very comfortable and relaxed that she was responsible, very kind and responsive. We appreciate her and feel so lucky to have her for our George and he loves her too. Thank you you again Lauren💕🌺

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bridgeport. On Rover:

- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
