For longer bookings like stays over three days or week-long care, I do ask for a bit of notice so I can plan accordingly and give your pets my full presence. I like to get a full sense of your pet’s personality, needs, and routine ahead of time so I can care for them as smoothly and respectfully as possible. I usually keep a light checklist of things like feeding times, walking or play preferences, medical needs, triggers, boundaries, and any specific habits or quirks that help me understand them better. Knowing things like how they respond to new people, what comforts them when you’re gone, or how they like to sleep or play makes a big difference. Every pet is different, and the more I know, the better I can meet them where they are.
A typical day
It really depends on the animal’s personality. Some love to play and need stimulation, so I’m happy to play with them and engage with toys like balls, puzzles, feather wands, tug of war, or even just a good old-fashioned game of chase around the yard. For dogs, I enjoy mindful walks, exploring new smells, or just a little fetch if that’s their thing. For more relaxed or older pets, I’ll simply spend quiet time nearby, offer brushing (if they enjoy it), or give gentle affection and companionship. I let them set the tone! I just follow their lead and make sure they feel seen, safe, and cared for.
