Paulina did an amazing job taking care of our home and animals while we were away. She was incredibly attentive to our dog, who is very picky with eating, and made sure he was comfortable and well-fed. When our cat injured himself, she didn’t hesitate to offer to bring him to the vet—showing genuine care and responsibility. On top of that, she went the extra mile during the hot days by making frozen treats for our chickens to help them stay cool. I highly recommend Paulina for house sitting and pet care. We’ll be using her as often as possible!

Meaghon was the best! She went above and beyond to care for all of our pets and our home while we were away for the holidays. She communicated often and sent us a lot of pictures. She made sure our pets had lots of love and attention while we were gone. We were so lucky to find her and would highly recommend her to anyone!

Fiorella took the absolute best care of our two boys. They are both high energy dogs and she very much understood their needs and met them wonderfully. Extra bonus was that our house was in amazing shape when we got home. Thank you so much!

Chloe did an absolutely amazing job taking care of our two dogs (Nala, a one year old golden retriever and Maui, an almost six year old, lab mix) while we were away. From the start, she was reliable, communicative, and clearly experienced with handling pets. She kept us updated with messages and photos, which gave us real peace of mind knowing our dogs were happy and well cared for. One thing that really stood out was how quickly our dog Maui—who is usually very picky about people—gravitated toward her right away. That alone spoke volumes about Chloe’s calm, trustworthy presence and natural connection with animals. It’s obvious that Chloe genuinely cares about the animals she looks after, and she treated ours like her own. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend Chloe to anyone looking for a trustworthy, attentive, and compassionate pet sitter. We are already thinking about leaving again so the dogs can hang out with Chloe.

Kendel was great house sitting for our dog Pan. Before we left, she came by twice to get to know us a bit and then to pick up the key. While we were gone, she sent pictures and updates for us regularly to let us know that he was ok. When we came home, he was acting like his normal happy self—not always the case when we haven’t been home. Kendel did a great job keeping us and the fur baby relaxed and happy while we were traveling.

If I could give 100 more stars, I would! Please don’t hesitate to book Rebecka. She is an absolute gem! Actually, I’m having a hard time giving this review since I want to keep her all to myself! 😉 Rebecka was incredibly reliable, went above and beyond to care for my dog (who got sick while I was gone) and kept me updated with photos and check ins throughout the stay. My dog clearly loved Rebecka, and I felt completely at ease knowing he was in such good hands. Rebecka stayed at my home and after a long travel day, I came into a clean, tidy and organized house, with a very happy and well cared for dog. Perfect! Highly, highly recommended!

Received many great photos of our pets relaxing around the house and eating meals. Came home to no mess and happy animals. Would definitely hire her again in the future!

Rachel was amazing with Bert and Maisy. She followed their exact schedule and also exercised them every day multiple times a day. She was very attentive to both doggies especially when Maisy had a bout of illness. She was so communicative and kept me in the loop with how they were doing and sent pictures. I felt so comfortable and reassured they were getting the best care while we were away. I would highly recommend Rachel for your pet sitting needs!! ❤️

Caroline was great while watching our kitties while we were on vacation. I could truly relax and enjoy myself as I knew they were in good hands with Caroline. She sent picture updates throughout the week which always put a smile on my face. She even vacuumed and washed the sheets before we got home—Completely unexpected but very much appreciated!! We will definitely be using Caroline’s services when we go out of town next.

About: I studied in the Veterinary Assisting program at Nashoba Valley Technical High School for 4 years, and graduated in 2025. During that time, I passed the TVMA Veterinary Assistant Certification (CVA) test. During this time, I became proficient in all of the skills a Veterinary Assistant would be expected to perform, and knowledgeable on relevant topics. I was also the recipient of the Certificate of Merit Achievement for Nashoba Tech’s Veterinary Assisting program. I had an amazing dog of my own who I loved and took care of for 10 years. I have also owned a guinea pig and taken care of numerous family cats throughout my life. I have been taking care of other people’s animals since I was 10 years old, watching the pets of family and friends. I am familiar with the care of all sorts of animals, not just limited to typical household pets. I have a lot of experience with animals with unique needs. My skills include fear free restraint and general handling, wound treatment, administration of medication, providing proper enrichment, and use of CPR. Here are some of the relevant certifications I have received: RESCUE- Veterinary Infection Preventionist Certification (September 2022) OSHA 10-hour Veterinary Certification (June 2022) Fear Free Certification (February 2023) Some of my other achievements: Recipient of the 2023 Massachusetts Student Achievement Award Member of the National Honors Society and National Technical Honors Society Selected attendee of 2023 MIAA Student Leadership Conference If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out! I am working part time as a doordasher, babysitter, and house cleaner, and my schedule is very adaptable. I prefer to schedule things at least two weeks in advance to keep a neat schedule. The farther out you book with me the more likely I am to be available, but I will still try my best to fit things in if they’re last minute. I take special care to ensure the animals I care for feel comfortable around me and are comfortable in their own homes. I always make sure to clean up after the animals and myself.

Erinn is the best! We have two senior dogs, one with special needs after having IVDD surgery, and when we came back from our little trip they were happy as ever. She’s knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly good with the pups. I’ve never seen them so at ease with a stranger. We’ll be booking her again soon!

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Boylston

Natalya is amazing - has such an animal lover’s disposition. She was amazing at reading my reactive / anxious dog’s cues, and really let my dog take the time to warm up to her (which happened fairly quickly). Natalya updated me at meal times, and long walks, and made sure to follow all of our routines and care instructions. Made me feel at ease when having to leave my girl!

Natalya is always amazing with my dog! She sends lots of updates and pictures, and knows how to spend quality time with my pup while I’m gone. Every time I get home, Roscoe is happy but a tired, so I know she’s had the best time! Natalya is great at following any specifics for my dog, and always takes care to be respectful of the house too.

FAQs for House Sitting - Boylston

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Boylston on Rover is $43.75 per night (as of August 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of August 2026, there are 5,698 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Boylston. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Boylston walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Boylston maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Boylston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boylston. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 95% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
