Holly is great! She’s so kind, caring, and understanding. I had the opportunity to puppy sit for Milton. Milton is wild and crazy and she was nothing but calm and amazing energy. Holly will definitely be my go-to sitter/ walker. Thank you, Holly!

It was great having Mo stay at our house over the long weekend. We were sad to not have our pups camping with us but it was nice to know they were in good hands! Received many great photos of our pets relaxing around the house and eating meals. Came home to no mess and happy animals. Would definitely hire her again in the future!

We seriously could not have asked for a better dog sitter for Archie. Meaghon took amazing care of him while we were away and gave us complete peace of mind the entire trip. Communication was excellent with updates, photos, and check ins that made it so easy to relax knowing Archie was in such good hands. When we came home we could immediately tell Archie was happy, relaxed, and clearly very well cared for. You can tell Meaghon genuinely loves animals and goes above and beyond to make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and cared for. She was professional, reliable, and incredibly easy to work with. We were so impressed that we have already rebooked with her again. Highly recommend Meaghon to anyone looking for someone trustworthy and amazing to care for their pets!

About: My childhood cat Daisy, is as important to me as a family member. She is the perfect cat and I would not be the person I am today without her and that has left me with a deep love for cats, and by extension all pets. She is a whopping 15 years old as of now, was born in 2011 and adopted 2012, and is still VERY healthy and happy to this day. Before her, there was Max the Maine Coon who lived to 15. From birth I have had cats in the house, and adored them. I have taken part in their care more seriously beginning at age 8-10 when we adopted Daisy and took care of her in my room as she adjusted as a young kitten. 7 years later we found a fluffy orange kitten on a local walk. After nobody claimed him, we took him in. He grew up to be a hefty, incredibly fluffy ball of personality. He is now 8 and as energetic and healthy as ever. Needless to say, I love cats and am very familiar with their behavior and care. All the cats me and my family have owned have lived and continue to live exceptionally long, fruitful, and healthy lives. Additionally, When I was a preteen I loved participating in all sorts of summer actiities, but by fam my favorite was a semi-local summer camp at Animal Adventures, a rescue for all types of animals that hosted opportunities for young people to clean, feed, pet, and otherwie enjoy the company of exotic and native animals such as the capybara, a boa python, and even alligators. It was a foundational experience to fuel my love for animals and their care well into adulthood, a fascination that has never left me. My own personal routine for my pet care is simple and effective. I am very flexible when it comes to my availability and am more than open to many following all kinds of particular schedules for your pet’s needs. My daily care for my own pets is as follows: my father and I split the care of the cats when we are both home, but there has been many a time where I am alone for extended periods and in charge of their total care for a week or more. Their litter is scooped at least twice a day, once at noon. They are fed three to four times a day, in the morning, early afternoon, early evening, and night. They split a can of wet food between them for each meal. If we are gone for more the majority of the day, dry food is left out. Daisy has a topical medication applied on the inside of her ear, once at breakfast while she eats and once at night. Left ear in the morning, right at night. Gently holding her scruff while she eats and standing behind her while I apply the medicine makes the process quick and stress free for both of us! For house sitting, I can be flexible and attentive! Depending on the needs, I can (and likely will) spend nearly all the time with your pet. If your pet is shy, I will try to stay within a comfortable distance while keeping track of their well-being, and energetic and social pets will get plenty of love and attention. I care very much about their routines and health and will follow any instructions given, as I am used to an important schedule regarding my own cats’ health.

About: I’ve always loved animals and felt a special connection between them. I believe that every animal deserves the world and all the love! I have a dog of my own, who is my baby! Any time there is an animal I want to make friends and be where they are:) I am currently working full time, but have a lot more availability on Thursdays and Sundays. I am around Saturdays after 3. Depending on the pets needs, I can stay over and go to work from your home. I would love to play with your dog, take them for walks and adventures. I can feed them breakfast and dinner, and include treats. Definitely give them plenty of love as well!

About: FIRST AID and CPR CERTIFIED - I am currently pursuing a masters in an animal related field. I am well-versed in caring for dogs and cats and I have always had a passion for animals. I make sure to maintain great communication with the dog/cat parents while looking after their furry family member. Happy to send text updates for pet parents that want that. I always strive to go above and beyond to meet the needs of the client and the furry family member. I have been around animals for over 10+ years and I have two cats and a fish at home. Animals have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. I have recently worked at Davis Farmland in Sterling MA this past fall and worked with a variety of animals from holding goats to working with ponies. In between the last time I have been dog sitting/housesitting I have been taking care of my pets and house sitting for my in laws when they go away and take care of their cat as well usually for about a week. We also have a fb page called Laura and Phils pet care where you can see photos of our own pets. We use it to get people's attention, for people to contact us and to spread the word about our business! My name is Laura and I am super excited to meet you and your lovely pup/pups or kitties!! Since a child I grew up around animals, and as a kitty mom I know how important your fur babies are to you! I hope you can put your trust in me and believe me when I say your fur babies health and safety will always be my number 1 priority!! I am also available for pet-sitting while you and your family are away on vacation!! I have 10+ years in this area and I can see how important the bond is between a family and there pets. I can't wait to love, care for, play with and cuddle your furr babies! I am currently pursuing a masters in an animal related field and have two cats and a fish at home so I am very familiar with caring for pets throughout the day. I have specific feeding times and ways of how to feed/care for each pet. Every pet is different, and it is important to realize that. I have experience giving medication when needed and go above and beyond for your pets. I have great time management skills which has helped greatly with this profession.

Shara was the best pet sitter we could have asked for. We could tell she treated our pets like we would have, and they were more comfortable when we came back home because of it. She watched our dog and two cats for two full weeks while we were traveling. She was very accommodating even with last minute adjustments and coordination with others. One of our cats can take weeks to warm up to people, and he warmed up to her in two days. She sent pictures and videos of our pets every day, showing they all got treats, playtime, snuggles, and long adventures for our energetic golden retriever. Her regular updates and consideration for our pets made us feel confident throughout our vacation and is why we'll be going back to her in the future. I could tell they were spoiled while we were gone, but I didn't realize Shara would be giving us that same treatment. We returned home from a long trip exhausted, and she had washed our towels and sheets, put them on the bed for us, and she had left the home cleaner for us than we left it for her. She's the best, and I know our pets and us can't wait to see her again.

Jay stepped in at very short notice to help us out when another sitter fell through. We really appreciated her quick response and regular communication during the transition as well as throughout the sitting. She is very reliable and sends lots of photos and updates. Devyn was a excellent pet care provider for our 2 dogs! She stayed with our 2 dogs for a week. She had offered to meet the dogs a couple times prior to our trip for them to get comfortable with her She was very proactive with communication and responsive through booking and the entire trip One of our dogs requires daily and monthly medication and she handled that protocol required. The house was kept tidy and clean upon our arrival back home. We would absolutely book with Devyn again and would recommend her to others in the future.

FAQs for House Sitting - Clinton

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Clinton on Rover is $58.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of July 2026, there are 5,801 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Clinton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Clinton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Clinton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Clinton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Clinton. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
