“Eric is super reliable. He shows up on time and he is very gentle with my anxious dog, Boo. She takes time to become comfortable with new people, and she is off to a good start with Eric.”

About: I find so much joy in caring for animals. I had a beloved dog for 10 years. For fifteen years I have been walking dogs in my neighborhood as well as providing overnight care in the pet’s home! I am comfortable walking dogs up to 70 pounds. I am comfortable with harnesses, regular collars and pinch collars. I love to bring dogs on long walks, but I think playing is potentially even more beneficial than walks as it challenges their brains! I have taken an obedience course. I would love to be a part of your dog’s care while you’re away and help make their day more fun and comfortable. I currently work full- time but work remotely. I have a lot of flexibility because of this setup and can manage around most hours needed. I’m an attentive person and follow care instructions well. I would be certain to be respectful and careful and considerate. I will always treat your home like I’m a guest.

You tell me home you’d like your pet cared for, weather it’s taking them for a walk or just letting them out in a fenced in area

“Austin is a true animal lover. He genuinely likes to spend time with them. He was very attentive to our elderly cat and dog, and extremely conscientious about following the specific instructions I left for him. He sent updates and communicated as needed during his stay. I have finally found someone with whom I feel at ease leaving them. We are booking Austin to watch our pets again in a couple of months.”

“Jocelyn was great with our two dogs Lexi and Ruby while we had a weekend away. Great communication and she sent photos and video. We’d definitely have her stay with our dogs again in the future!”

“Laura is, without a doubt, the best pet sitter we've ever had. She took exceptional care of our dogs, and we came home to two happy, tired golden retrievers and a house that was even cleaner than when we left. Laura is trustworthy, incredibly kind, thoughtful, and an excellent communicator. She kept us updated with adorable photos of our dogs throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. As if that weren't enough, we returned home to find two beautifully wrapped, framed photos of our pups—a thoughtful surprise that truly went above and beyond. We can't recommend Laura highly enough. Don't hesitate to book her—you and your pets will be in the best hands.”

“Olivia went above and beyond taking care of our two dogs and the house! She communicates clearly, made me feel comfortable that our fur babies were being taken care of, and left the house even cleaner that how she received it.”
About: Hi! We’re Laura & Phil — the husband‑and‑wife team behind Laura and Phil’s Pet Care! We’ve both grown up around animals, and today we share our home with two cats and a fish, each with their own routines and personalities. With 10+ years of pet‑care experience, we’ve learned how important it is to treat every pet as an individual. I’m currently pursuing a master’s degree in an animal‑related field, and I have hands‑on experience with medication administration, detailed feeding schedules, and caring for pets with unique needs. Phil brings a calm, steady energy that animals instantly connect with, especially shy or nervous pets. Together, we make a reliable, loving team that truly enjoys caring for your fur babies. Our schedule is flexible, and we work as a team to make sure your pets get consistent, dependable care. We plan our days around feeding routines, walk times, and any special instructions you provide. Because we work together, we’re able to offer steady coverage for walks, drop‑ins, and vacation pet‑sitting. We always communicate clearly and keep you updated so you feel confident and informed. Your pet’s safety and comfort will always be our number one priority. We are reliable, safety‑focused, and mindful of your pet’s environment at all times. We follow leash protocols, monitor surroundings closely, and stick to your pet’s normal routine to keep them feeling secure. We respect your home, your rules, and your pet’s boundaries. Our goal is to create a calm, positive atmosphere where your pet feels safe, relaxed, and loved.
“Andrew was so great! He came to meet our puppy before the first sit which we really appreciated. He also made sure to send updates and pictures while we were away and we felt very comfortable leaving our pup with him. We will be happy to have him come back, and I’m sure Peanut will as well!”

About: I’ve lived and worked with dogs my whole life; big and small, young and old, and a variety of breeds. I started walking friends’ and neighbors’ dogs on my own as a teenager, and I first stayed over as a dog sitter not long after that. Over the years, I’ve gotten quick at reading what a dog needs in the moment, whether that’s more physical activity, some quiet space, or just reassurance and time, and giving them exactly that. I’m comfortable handling the messier and more unpredictable parts of the job too, from accidents to nervous or anxious behavior, without missing a beat. More than anything, I love spending time with animals, and I can’t wait to build a real connection with every animal I work with. - Dog walker for 14+ years (more than 20 dogs, all sizes/ages) -Dog sitter for 10+ years (More than 12 dogs, including households with multiple pets, multiple night stays, familiar and first-time clients) I currently work part-time in a remote role, which gives me plenty of flexibility during the day/week to walk, feed, and play with dogs without any sense of time limitations. I’m available across weekdays and weekends, and almost any time of day, whether it’s an early morning walk, a midday check-in, or an evening stay. I care for your pets as if they are my own. My promise is to engage with your pet on your terms and with the utmost transparency and communication. I’ll follow the expectations you set (feeding time, walks, medications) so your dog’s routine is as normal as possible while you’re away. I will keep you in the loop throughout with updates, photos, and check-ins. This same care extends to your home, tidy, undisturbed, and just as you left it.
“Chloe was absolutely wonderful taking care of Benny while we were away! She was caring, reliable, and kept us updated throughout our trip. It was reassuring to know Benny was in such good hands. She went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable and happy. We truly appreciate her help and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a loving and trustworthy pet sitter. Thank you so much, Chloe!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of November 2026, there are 5,911 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Still River. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Still River walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Still River maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Still River choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet.
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
