“Liz and Anna were very communicative and punctual throughout the entire experience which i really appreciate. My dog is very reactive and they were patient and understanding working with him. Thank you guys for watching my baby while i was gone on such short notice, i appreciate you!”

“Barbara was a wonderful house sitter! She is so sweet and did an excellent job. Our two dogs were in great hands and our house was very well taken care of while we were away. I would absolutely recommend Barbara if you need a dog sitter or house sitter!!”

“Highly recommend Michael for home pet sitting. My pup is my child and I would only leave him with someone I trusted. Michael kept in touch while my husband and I were traveling and I did not worry about my dog getting meds and the senior dog care he needed. I'll definitely use Michael again.”

“Anna was a great sitter for our 2 dogs and cat. She managed a hand-off from another sitter seamlessly. She gave thorough updates and responded quickly to requests. Would love to have her sit for us again in the future.”

“Emily was caring and loving the minute she walked through the door. She gave our puppy Kota so much love. She kept in contact leading up to our booking and she sent pictures while we were gone. She was attentive and mindful of our older cat adjusting to a new puppy and made sure she could access her food and water when puppy was sleeping. We are so grateful for Emily.”

“Caroline is the best pet sitter I have ever had. I had a wedding weekend and Caroline stayed at my house with my two dogs Utah and Bodey. My French Bulldog Bodey can be difficult at times and he needs to warm up to new people in his life. Caroline gave him love and affection until Bodey finally gave in to her ways. Caroline showed patience and poise while watching him. As a pet owner who has a dog like Bodey, it put me at ease knowing he was in terrific hands. Bodey even had his "moments" with Caroline but she handled it perfectly. I trust Caroline full heartedly to take care of my two little guys. Lastly, Caroline took amazing care of my place while I was gone. It was spotless upon my return.”

“Look no further! Cynthia is caring, thorough, communicative, and attentive. Ahead of our meet and greet, she sent me a list of excellent questions and topics for us to discuss that would help inform her stay at our home and care of our two dogs. She didn't bat an eye at my detailed list of information and our dog's needs. In conjunction with her lovely disposition, genuine care for animals, she was a fantastic communicator while we were away, and even kept tabs on our fish and cared for my flowers. She left our house incredibly clean and was such a blessing during our two weeks away - which is a long time to leave your fur babies! I feel so fortunate to have found her and am grateful for her care and extraordinary flexibility when I realized I had booked the wrong end date! Thank you, Cynthia!”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was about 12 for people in my town. I have various pets of my own back in my hometown. I have a dog, 3 cats, chickens, and cows and I loved them so much I decided to become a veterinarian. I have learned countless of tasks while working at a vet clinic, so I feel very qualified. I am a college student, so I have plenty of time outside of classes to help take care of other peoples pets. I have a lot of flexibility, so there are lots of times that work for me! I am able to do anything that you need me to do to keep your pets safe, happy, and healthy while they are under my care. I will treat them as if they were my own, if not better.
“Augusta was super nice to Frankie and patient with her as it takes her a while to warm up to others. Augusta also is great at communicating what days she's available to dogs sit and what times work for her. She asks clear questions before her stay and follows any directions about feeding times or medication Frankie may need.”

“Anastasia was wonderful to work with. She did a meet and greet before we left on our trip. She provided updates and even sent pictures of my two standard poodles. When I arrived home our place was nice and clean! And my poodles were happy! Highly recommend Anastasia!”

“Jamysen took great care of my two frenchies. She is punctual, reliable and very responsive to messages. My plants and home were also well cared for. I’d book her again with no hesitation.”

“Gunner is a very kind and conscientious pet and house sitter. He is communicative and provided updates and pictures of our cat happily interacting with him. My mind was so at ease knowing Gunner was taking care of my cat and home while we were away. I would definitely hire him again!”

“Emma has been so great with my dogs and cat. They all love her and she takes great care and sends lots of updates and photos which I greatly appreciate whenever I’m away. Would definitely recommend Emma!”

“Highly recommend Adia for all your pet needs! She treated my three like family and made sure they where well loved and comfortable in my absence. Adia sent text updates throughout the day, which I love to know how they are doing. We definitely plan to use Adia for all of our future pet sitting needs. 10/10 stars from us!”

“Suzanne was very responsive and shared status reports and photos while we were away. Our dogs were happy when we returned - in a way that told us they were taken care of, and our house remained tidy. She even gave one of my dogs her daily pill, made sure to put a diaper on my other needy dog before leaving each day, and she made sure she understood expectations. Thank you for taking such good care of our pups!”

“Dena takes the best care of our high maintenance dogs. Our puppy is especially difficult and anxious and she never seems put out by his special needs. We really appreciate Dena’s communication and updates!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Boise
Hannah is heaven sent. Our dog got into a scape thru our fence with a neighbors dog and Hannah handled it all so well. She contacted us immediately and took great care of our dog until we got home. As upsetting as it was, she was calm and respectful. Thank you Hannah! As my husband as said more than once, “Hannah is our girl.”

Once again Megan was great with our dog Copper! She sent daily updates with photos, responded quickly to my messages, and made sure Copper got outside regularly. She also left our house looking great. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and reliable sitter!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter! This was our first time leaving our dogs with anyone, so we were understandably nervous, but Sara made the entire experience so easy and stress-free. We were gone for two nights and 3 days, and she took amazing care of our dogs in our home. She kept us updated with pictures and messages throughout our trip, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear our dogs were happy, comfortable, and well cared for. When we returned, everything was in great shape, and we knew they had been in the best hands. We highly recommend Sara to anyone looking for a caring, reliable sitter, and we’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Joy went above and beyond while taking care of our cat, Finn. She sent multiple pictures and updates throughout the day to let us know how he was doing, brought in our trash cans, and left our home in perfect condition. She came back to check on him when we were going to be home later than planned, without us asking. Her attention to detail while I explained how to care for him was also impressive. We would definitely love to have her back in the future and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to others! Thanks Joy!

Christian was wonderful and kept us updated with great communication throughout the entire stay, which gave us peace of mind. They took excellent care of our dog, and we came home to a clean, well-kept house. We would absolutely recommend him and would be happy to book with him again.
Katelyn was such a life saver! She watched my difficult dog and kept the house in order while we were gone. My dog is anxious, eats frozen food that needs to be thawed and added to, and is a bit aggressive when he first meets people. He can absolutely scare people at first. She handled it like a dream and was so sweet. I will absolutely check with her first next time I need someone!

Katherine was fantastic! Communication was excellent from start to finish! she kept me updated throughout and sent adorable photos regularly, which really put my mind at ease. She took great care of my house and clearly treated it with respect. I’d book her again in a heartbeat and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive sitter.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Boise on Rover is $48.15 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 944 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Boise. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Boise walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Boise maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Boise choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boise. On Rover:

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
