“Look no further! Cynthia is caring, thorough, communicative, and attentive. Ahead of our meet and greet, she sent me a list of excellent questions and topics for us to discuss that would help inform her stay at our home and care of our two dogs. She didn't bat an eye at my detailed list of information and our dog's needs. In conjunction with her lovely disposition, genuine care for animals, she was a fantastic communicator while we were away, and even kept tabs on our fish and cared for my flowers. She left our house incredibly clean and was such a blessing during our two weeks away - which is a long time to leave your fur babies! I feel so fortunate to have found her and am grateful for her care and extraordinary flexibility when I realized I had booked the wrong end date! Thank you, Cynthia!”

“Aaron was great! He took care of Gilmore for a week. Aaron is communicative and flexible. He shared lots of pics of Gilmore walking and playing ball. He stayed at the house and took great care of it too!”

“Alanah did a great job taking care of Castor! It’s clear how much she enjoys animals and we were lucky she was willing to help us out. She was easy to communicate with and respectful of our home as well.”

“Emily is awesome!!! She went above and beyond dragging in a huge box from the porch! She kept me updated on my pups and how they were doing. This means everything to me!! I just got a new puppy and I didn’t want to leave him but Emily made it easy! Thank you Emily!!”

“I could not be happier! Dena was so professional and attentive to Annie Frannie. Our dog is high energy and loves her hikes and walks. Dena helped Annie through her anxiety of not being with me and also gave her plenty of exercise. A great house sitter/doggy care giver.”
“We are so lucky to have found Lauryn to watch our 2 pugs and cat. This was our first time using Rover and leaving our pets with a sitter. Before we went on our trip Lauryn was able to meet the dogs and spend some time with them so they could get familiar with her. She ended up watching our pets for about 10 days. We trusted her fully to care for them and our home while we were away. I would highly recommend Lauren for future pet sitting, I know we will be using her again!”

“Bethany was incredible. She went above and beyond. She sent photos daily, she kept our home clean and she made sure our pups were so happy on our vacation. We highly recommend and will definitely book her again!! Thank you so so much!”

“SUCH a great guy!! Shaun went above and beyond for us! He was super dependable, communicated better than imagined, and was on time, even early! He cared for 3 dogs, including a 9 week old puppy and visiting ausiedoodle. We will definitely use him again!”

About: I am a veterinary assistant and have worked and surrounded myself with animals my whole life. I’ve volunteered at animal shelters, worked with vets, and was a dog handler and a doggie daycare over the past few summer years. I have experience with cat, dogs, fish, rodents, reptiles, and more. I love hiking and spending time outside as well, so hikes with dogs are more than welcome! I recently moved to Boise and am excited to get to know the area, so taking your dog on walks is the perfect excuse for me to explore ;) I work Monday-Friday from 8am to 5pm so i before and after my shift I can take care of your furry, scaly or slimy friends! I also don’t work weekends at all so my availability is wide open! When working with animals in their own homes, I think it’s important to understand you’re coming into their space and to work slowly to earn their trust! I have worked with many different animals and know how to read body language, so if your pet is uncomfortable I know how to work with them and listen to their needs.
“Absolute rockstar. Asked all the right questions, and made all the pets feel right at home (which they were). She took great care of the house and stayed in communication during the 2 days I was gone, and bonus points for being able to medicate a very reluctant feline. I will definitely have Kate back to take care of the gang anytime she wants.”

“Marisa house sat taking care of my crazy pack of dogs. I have four and they all have varying needs as well as energy levels. My 16.5 year old pomeranian is considered "hospice" and requires a lot of extra care, medications and diapers. My other three include two "teenage" age chocolate labs! Marisa was WONDERFUL with all of them. With my pom its so stressful to travel not knowing if he will get all his medications, will he eat, Marisa took so much of that stress off of me. She knew how to deal with his medications as well as how important it was that he get them. I honestly cannot say enough good things about our experience with Maris she was amazing and we plan to book her again!”

“I got to enjoy my vacation because I knew Lily was taking excellent care of my fur babies (dogs and cats). She sent me regular updates and took the dogs to park and on walks every day. Top notch. Will definitely have her back!”

“Theo was an absolute gem! They did a wonderful job caring for our senior dog and rescue cat for 2 nights. Their communication was top notch and we are thrilled to have found someone we can fully trust! Couldn't recommend them higher.”

“They did such a great job watching my moody, territorial pup! He’s not always the easiest to deal with, but they were super patient and made him feel comfortable. I received daily updates and was awesome hearing the progress he made feeling comfortable with them.”

“Ciera has quickly become our dog’s favorite person. She did an excellent job helping Sundance feel safe, happy, and comfortable. We always get anxious leaving him, but she kept us constantly updated with messages and pictures. Ciera is the BEST sitter you could get on Rover. 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“This was my very first experience with in-home cat sitting and Megan was outstanding in every way! I am so grateful and will continue to ask for her help / care as long as she is available!!”

“Michael was terrific with my two girls! He was punctual and a joy to work with. I highly recommend him. My house looked perfect when we got home and my dogs were relaxed and happy.”

Kara was an amazing cat and house sitter! Both of my kitties take medication and love when people stay with them. They have a very detailed routine and Kara took great care of them. I trust Kara to take care of any home and any animal that she is taking care of. She sent pictures while we were gone and the kitties were so content when we came home. Book with her for any of your trips and you won’t be disappointed!!

Wow, we feel so fortunate that Gunner was available to care for our dog while we were away. We had just started him on a new diet (older dog-vet recommended kidney safe food). Well he didn’t tolerate it well and ended up with diarrhea. Gunner handled this extremely well. Called our vet, made a trip to the emergency vet and kept us informed the entire time. We just couldn’t have asked for more. We will absolutely ask Gunner to pet sit for us in the future.
We highly recommend Jane for your pet/housesitting needs! She kept us apprised of all the goings-on and sent lots of photos and a video which we appreciated. The house was spotless when we got home and she even did the sheets & stuff from her stay. We will definitely be having her again.

Maria was so dependable and responsive to our questions before our trip, and stayed in communication with us while we were gone (at a comfortable rate, sending us photos of our cat & dog nearly every day). When we returned, our house and pets were all in great shape. We would definitely recommend Maria!

Michael took excellent care of our two older dogs, four hens and lots of plants. We (and the dogs) really appreciated his willingness to spend most of his time at the house, as the dogs don't do well if left alone for most of the day. Thanks, Michael - great job!
Augusta was fabulous! She took excellent care of our mini golden doodle, Bailey, while we were away. She communicated frequently, took Bailey for regular walks and sent several photos of our sweet dog. She also gave Bailey lots of love and belly rubs, which Bailey absolutely loves! Augusta is a sweet, responsible young woman and we would highly recommend her! We would absolutely love for her to watch Bailey again if she is available and her schedule permits!

Kate was fabulous. Our three cats immediately warmed to Kate the moment she arrived. She's a natural cat person, and knew exactly how to set them at ease. She arrived when she said she'd arrive, and always did exactly what she said she would do. While we were traveling Kate gave us daily updates and was really friendly, responsive and easy to communicate with by text. When we got home our cats were happy and content and the house was literally cleaner than when we left! Kate is an absolutely amazing petsitter and we'll definitely call on her again the next time we travel. Thanks so much Kate!

Jade did a wonderful job with our puppers!! We had to travel for a little over a week and worried about who we could trust to keep our senior Saint Bernard company. Jade did a great job with our pup, the house, sent pictures and updates, and did a few extra helpful things around the house. Thanks so much Jade! Would definitely recommend!
Barbara did a great job taking care of our dog Scout and our home while we were abroad for over a week. We returned to find Scout happy and calm, a sure sign he was given lots of walks, scratches and attention in our absence. She kept our house very clean and our plants watered. She was also good about communicating with us (despite the 7-hour time difference) regarding how Scout was getting along. I definitely would book Barbara again, and can recommend her for dog/house sitting.

Quyanna is amazing! She gave our cat MEDS (&cat people know how challenging that can be), and left our home cleaner than she found it, even washing and replacing sheets prior to leaving. Our kitty was so happy to have company that she was annoyed with how much my partner & I wanted to snuggle her when we got home. So grateful!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Boise on Rover is $48.84 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of September 2026, there are 936 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Boise. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Boise walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Boise maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Boise choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boise. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
