“Daniel cared for our active 16-month Australian Shepherd for 6 days. Our dog appeared happy and well cared for upon our return. Also our house was clean upon our return.”

“I was able to go camping for a weekend and know that my dog was very well loved and taken care of as if I was still there. Emilee sent a bunch of pictures to update me on how my pup was doing and made sure my place looked the same as when I left. If you need someone to trust with your dog, Emilee is your person.”

“Daniel was wonderful with my puppy. I was so nervous to leave my puppy for the first time and he made it a very comfortable experience. He had a great response rate to all my questions and was very personable. He came over for a meet and greet before I booked him, and sent me lots of pictures of their time together while I was away. After I returned, my puppy sat by the guest room door looking for her new best friend, you could tell she really missed him, it was really sweet! I will hands down book with Daniel the next time I need pet care!”

“Mignon is an excellent dog sitter. We felt very confident that our fur baby was well taken care of. She sent us photos and communicated with us. We will definitely hire her again.”

“Emily is awesome!!! She went above and beyond dragging in a huge box from the porch! She kept me updated on my pups and how they were doing. This means everything to me!! I just got a new puppy and I didn’t want to leave him but Emily made it easy! Thank you Emily!!”

“Traci was absolutely incredible and we are so grateful for the love and care she gave our sweet old mastiff. She was loving and attentive and was sending us pictures and updates daily. We came home to a happy and relaxed dog, clean home, watered plants and fed fish. Thank you so much again, Traci!”

“SUCH a great guy!! Shaun went above and beyond for us! He was super dependable, communicated better than imagined, and was on time, even early! He cared for 3 dogs, including a 9 week old puppy and visiting ausiedoodle. We will definitely use him again!”

“Ron and Monica were very personable in there face to face and did a good job with Boo and Smoky. Boo's stress level is so much better since using Rover house sitters.”

“Ye was a wonderful pet sitter! Great communication, always on time. Our dogs LOVED her. Even my timid dog warmed up to her fast. She sent us photos and even took our dogs on a walk even though that wasn’t required. We will definitely be booking with her again. Thank you Ye for being amazing!!!!”

“Erin was awesome!! She was quick with responding, provided pictures and updates of Max while we were gone and had a great fenced yard that Max loved 😃. Will definitely use her again!!”

“Sara was great! She let us know that my dog's nose was getting crusty so we could tell her how to treat it while we were gone. She was very communicative and sent pictures so we knew the dogs were well taken care of, and had no surprises upon return. We will definitely look to book her in the future!”

“Andrea was fantastic! She took great care of Duncan and the house. We received updates with pictures through out the day. You can tell she really puts a lot of time and energy into the animals she cares for. We will definitely contact her for future visits!!”

About: Having grown up with a variety of pets myself (growing up sort of on a farm in the country), I have over 20 years of dedication pet care experience. I have also had 10 years of experience pet sitting for cats/dogs/chickens/ you name it! From playful puppies to senior cats, I ensure all pets in my care feel loved and safe. Whether I am administering detailed medical regiments or following specialized diets, I take care to deliver the best service to owners and families while they are away from their four-legged family members. I am playful, fun, gentle, and nurturing. My approach combines plenty of walks, cuddles, and play time! I work full time but am finished with my work day on Wednesdays and Fridays by 3pm, and Tuesdays by 4pm. I am available weekends and love being active with pets who love to walk/run or chill at home with pets with lower energy. I make sure to keep to a pet’s routine when you are away as it can be stressful for them to not have their primary person there! I adapt to their schedule. I follow their lead: if they are feeling anxious or aloof I never force myself because I want to ensure they feel safe and cared for.

“Atticus did a wonder job housesitting and caring for my dog Hazel. She kept me updated with pictures and reports of their days together. Hazel seemed happy and well cared for and my house was as neat and clean as when I left. I highly recommend Atticus and I look forward to having her housesit for me again!”

“Ashley was pretty much the best house sitter i have had in a very long time. My cat was very well taken care of, she sent plenty of updates, kept my home in good order and even left me a thank you card and drew a picture of my cat by hand for me :) Will be using her again!!!”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Meridian
Rosalyn provided exceptional care for Daisy, my 4 yo corgi. She gave me peace of mind so I could enjoy a short trip away. She was very attentive to Daisy’s needs, including her special diet/treats, and the need for lots of play and exercise! I will definitely be contacting Rosalyn next time!

I highly recommend Lisa for in-home pet sitting. From our very first contact, everything was smooth and easy. She came for a meet and greet and we could tell right away we were in great hands! The communication was terrific, she did lots of extras for our high-maintenance pup, and the house was very well taken care of. I am very grateful for her help so we could get away.

Kellie is an excellent dog sitter! She communicated well throughout the stay and took wonderful care of Knox. It was clear that she genuinely cared about him and made sure he was happy, comfortable, and well looked after. I would absolutely recommend Kellie and would happily have her sit for Knox again!

Olivia was wonderful! She was so communicative and easy to work with. She even came over beforehand to meet the dogs to ease our minds. She sent regular updates on the dogs and sent pictures as well. I would highly recommend her to care for your animals and we will be using her again!

We had the best experience with Erin. This was the first time we hired a dog sitter, and it was perfect. Erin was so good with our three dogs. She was caring and attentive to each dog’s individual needs and personalities and she spent a ton of time playing and interacting with them. She was very professional and asked great questions. She managed dog medications and complicated meal routines with ease. She was super responsive when I checked in and proactively sent me lots of photo, video, and text updates. Also, she left things so tidy we couldn’t even tell someone was there! She made our time away from home so much less stressful. I would definitely recommend her, and we will absolutely be booking her services again.

Arica was an incredible dog sitter, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! She was so kind, patient, and caring with our dog, who can be a little anxious at times. She kept us updated throughout our trip with pictures and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind. Her communication was excellent, and she was always reliable and thoughtful. It was obvious she genuinely cared about our dog like he was her own. We’re so grateful for everything she did and are already looking forward to having her watch him again in the future. 100% recommend!!

I am in awe of the care our animals and home received from Mignon while we were out of town. While the kitty was more elusive (we knew she would be), the dog got to live her absolute best life with Mignon! We now pale in comparison. In addition to watering the flowers, feeding the squirrels, taking Stella for car rides and visits to new places - she kept us updated on a daily basis with texts and photos. Our house was cleaner when we got home than when we left. To top it off, she left a lick mat in the freezer for Stella and the sweetest diary of her experiences with the "kids" in our home. I want to keep her all for myself, but I do HIGHLY recommend Mignon if you need someone to care for your animals and home while you are away. She is amazing!
Cecilia was great with our 2 senior dogs and our last minute trip. She communicated promptly and eased all my worries while I was overseas. She also sent lots of pictures. For my first experience with a sitter and rover this was great. Will definitely rebook.

As our first time using Rover, we scrolled through lots of options for a sitter, but after reading reviews, we felt Ava would be a good fit. And we made the right choice. After booking, we set up a time for her to meet us and Coby, and we felt a sense of relief that Coby would be in good hands. Ava arrived at the scheduled time, which allowed us to leave after we said our "see you laters" to Coby. Soon we were on the road, knowing Coby was being taken care of with Walks, Feedings, and support as she would be missing us too. Ava provided us with good communication and pictures, and it allowed us to not have to worry about Coby at all. We would definitely recommend Ava for anyone needing a dog sitter, and will most likely use her again in the future.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Meridian on Rover is $44.4 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Meridian walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Meridian maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Meridian choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Meridian. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
