“Kaity did a great job as our housesitter and pet sitter. She sent frequent pictures of our animals and played with our dog. Our shy cat even came out of hiding for her! She watered all of my flowers outside, collected mail and packages, and left the house in great shape. We will definitely book her again in the future.”

“Kayla was amazing. Our dogs always get supper stressed when we have to board them so we tried having a house sitter. We had lots of good contact with Kayla with how the dogs were adjusting to her and the dogs seemed to like her. Kayla left the house clean.”

“I was thoroughly impressed with McKenzie's exceptional care for Riley. Despite Riley's initial apprehension around new people, she quickly warmed up to McKenzie and remained calm throughout their time together. McKenzie's communication skills were excellent during her four-day stay. I can only give the highest possible recommendation and would definitely book her again.”

“Kimberly was responsive and communicative. My husband and I have not left Buddha overnight with someone he didn’t know and he did great. Kimberly made is all feel comfortable and my husband and I were able to enjoy a night away knowing our baby was in great hands. Definitely will be using Kimberly again.”

“Very pleased with Cailin's week spent with our 2 goldendoodles at our home. She tended to our many outdoor plants. The house was clean and welcoming when we walked in the door. Thank you, Cailin!”

“Katie dog sat for my 2 dogs for 2 nights in our home. She made sure my dog with a heart condition took her meds 4 times per day and took them for walks. She made sure they were fed and sent me messages on questions or comments she had. Our home was left in tact the way we left it. Thank you Katie for sitting with our dogs!”
“Kristi watched our two dogs while we went out of town for two nights. She is by far the best dog sitter we have ever used with Rover or privately. You can tell right away she loves the dogs. When we came back it was apparent they missed her after she left. What more could one say when your own dogs misses her! If you want a worry free time away from your dogs she is the sitter for you!! Also her response with texts & pictures were fantastic.”

About: Hello! I am an animal lover and always have been since I was little! I have a beautiful blue heeler/terrier mix who loves to go on hikes, jogs, and even paddleboarding! I will respect any and all boundaries but would love to take your pup out if needed to any place for some extra sunshine! But if that’s not an option I am also totally okay cuddling and being chill too! I am excited to take care of your dog and/or cat! I am currently working part time at dutch bros. So I work at max 6 hour shifts. Starting in late August I will be a full time student/athlete at the college of Idaho but I am still willing to fulfill what is needed! Just reach out and ask and I can make anything work. I will always listen to what I am told and be extremely cautious in a home that isn’t mine! I respect all boundaries of the owner and the dog.

“Mariah was great. She picked up my request last minute and was super flexible with me when my travel plans changed. Kept me updated with pictures and I had no doubt our pup was taking well care of.”

“We are so grateful to have found Ashley here on Rover! She took such great care of our Lab, Lilah, our shy kitty and our home while we were away. She played with and walked our dog often and send cute picture updates. We would highly recommend Ashley to anyone.”

“Rebecca was amazing, she would send pictures of our 2 girls daily and let us know that everything was good. They warmed up to her fairly quickly. Rebecca made us feel at ease while we were away because we knew they were in great care. Thank you Rebecca. If you are looking for someone that will set your mind at ease when it comes to your pets I would recommend her.”

“Samantha was absolutely wonderful! She stayed at my home for the weekend and took great care of my two cats and my senior Shih Tzu, who requires a little extra attention. I came home to happy pets, a tidy house, and complete peace of mind. She communicated well throughout her stay and made everything feel effortless. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring sitter.”

“We came home to one spoiled dog! Emily did a fantastic job taking care of both Sugar and the house - really appreciate it! Highly recommend her if you're looking for a dog or house sitter.”
About: I grew up with cats and dogs. I was adopted by my first orange tabby in graduate school. Ever since I have committed myself to the comfort and care of fur babies in my own home. And, now, I would like to care for other people's fur babies. I can do the basics of food and water and clean after them. I can take dogs on walks. My schedule is flexible. I can pet sit from 5 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. I can work my schedule around your needs. I am here to support pet parents by taking the best care of their babies. I am aware that flexibility in times and days are critical. I can come to your home so you dog or cat can be cared for in their environment. I do not want your dog or cat to be stressed out. I have 4 cats of my own. I minimize their stress by keeping their environment consistent. I provide them with all the love I promised them when I adopted them.
“Madison watched our little dog Sophie, she is a senior, blind in one eye and is very shy. Within a short amount of time had her sitting on her lap. We were so impressed and excited that they had connected. At the meet and greet she was very professional and took notes of all of our request, plus had her own list of great questions. She sent pictures of our little one everyday and comments of how she was doing. And when we returned from our trip the house was just as we left it very clean and the sheets were washed and on the bed. She also, checked in with us right before our return to make sure our plans and times had not changed. We would highly recommend Madison and we will definitely use her again. Thank you so much Madison for taking such good care of our little girl….”

About: I have done dog bathing/grooming for five years, then moved into human medicine. But my passion for animals followed me, and I have been house/dog/cat sitting for the healthcare providers I work with and fellow medical assistant for just over two years. I have experience with more high maintenance dogs/cats including those with health issues, behavioral issues, or mobility issues. Whether it's a chihuahua or a great dane, I respect an animal's boundaries and that has carried me well through life caring for them. I'm currently working weekdays as a medical assistant from 8am to 4:30pm M-F with the availability to leave during my lunch break to provide potty breaks to your fur babies. My clinic is closed weekends so I will be available all weekend. I treat any animal like they're family, and will also adhere to their daily routines. I find that it helps decrease any possible anxieties and stress for them by sticking to their normal daily routines as much as possible. If they want to cuddle on the couch or in bed, that is completely okay with me, I'll take all the snuggles I can get!

FAQs for House Sitting - Marsing
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 951 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Marsing. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marsing walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marsing maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marsing choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marsing. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
