“Kaity did a great job as our housesitter and pet sitter. She sent frequent pictures of our animals and played with our dog. Our shy cat even came out of hiding for her! She watered all of my flowers outside, collected mail and packages, and left the house in great shape. We will definitely book her again in the future.”

“Kayla is amazingly caring and attentive not only to our precious pup, she took great care of our home while we were gone! Would highly recommend !! So grateful For her kindness and care!”

“Besides excellent care for our old gal, Blue, a HUGE plus is that Kim left the house looking like I had just stepped out to grocery shop and came back an hour later. The only " footprint" she left was a happy pup! Thank you, Kim!!”

“Marissa took excellent care of my dog and cat! When I arrived home after being away for 2 weeks both of my animals were very content and well cared for. Marissa had sent me updates and pictures of the animals on a regular basis and walked my dog on a regular basis. I am happy I found Marissa on Rover. She is a sweet girl who loves animals and animals love her too!”

“I was thoroughly impressed with McKenzie's exceptional care for Riley. Despite Riley's initial apprehension around new people, she quickly warmed up to McKenzie and remained calm throughout their time together. McKenzie's communication skills were excellent during her four-day stay. I can only give the highest possible recommendation and would definitely book her again.”

“Kylie has become Chance’s bestie. She was great with him, sending us pictures daily so it was obvious Chance didn’t skip a beat in his routine from when we left til we got home. She took care of some potted flowers too. We would book her again in a heartbeat. I may have said that in a previous post but it’s still true.”

About: I’m an all-around animal lover! I love taking dogs for walks and offering them enrichment that keeps their minds and bodies active. This includes cats and other animals like bearded dragons, birds, and snakes as well! I’ve been pet-sitting for about 12 years for periods anywhere from a few hours to a few months! I currently have two Jack Russell Terriers who are amazing. In the past five years, I’ve picked up over 20 runaway dogs and reunited them with their original owners, as well as volunteered time with foster cats and dogs at a shelter close to my office. I work from 8am-5pm Monday-Friday, but other than that, I’m free! I have lots of experience with many, many animals. I love, love, love animals and I already know I love yours, too! I am currently working in the Meridian/Boise area from 8-5 Monday-Friday, but other than that I am completely free! If you live in the area, I can leave my office multiple times a day for walks or potty breaks, or just drop-ins! I have a completely fenced and secure yard and a 16 year old Jack Russell Terrier who is full of life! I can easily read pet body language and can de-escalate stressful or anxious situations with pets and can easily administer meds or crate times depending on what the owner and pet needs!
“Katie dog sat for my 2 dogs for 2 nights in our home. She made sure my dog with a heart condition took her meds 4 times per day and took them for walks. She made sure they were fed and sent me messages on questions or comments she had. Our home was left in tact the way we left it. Thank you Katie for sitting with our dogs!”
“Kristi is wonderful! The moment she came to meet my two dogs, I knew she was a true animal lover. My dogs can be a bit overwhelming at first but her calmness was very evident. Her communication was excellent with several updates and pictures. I enjoyed my short trip so much more knowing my dogs were being taken care of so well. My home was so clean and my pups were happy when I got home. I will definitely use Kristi again!”

“We're so lucky that we found Michaela to house sit for our two pups over the holidays! One of our pups has a history of aggression so we were nervous about finding the right person who could handle him. Michaela was confident, patient, and kind-hearted from the very first meet & greet and she did a fantastic job taking care of both of our pups. Highly recommended!”

“Danny did an amazing job taking care of our fur babies. We have two large Irish Wolfhounds and two pampered cats. He did not shy away from the challenge. The dogs loved him and enjoyed their long walks. Danny was great with communication… asked questions I didn’t even think about before we went out of town and communicated regularly with us with any questions that came up. Highly recommend him.”

“We have been using Chenaniah for a few years now and have had nothing but great experiences. She takes great care of our animals, communicates quickly, and we come home to happy pups and a clean house.”

“Madison provided exceptional care for my pets and home. I am always anxious about leaving my pets with someone else, but Madison was extremely attentive and responsive. She consistently sent updates and photos, which helped ease my mind. I have tried pet resorts and boarding facilities in the past, but having a sitter in my home is always my preference. Madison not only took great care of my pets, but she also ensured my house was in excellent condition. She even went above and beyond by running my robot vacuum and washing the bedding. I am grateful for her thoughtfulness. I am already planning to use her services again next month and will definitely recommend her to my friends and neighbors.”

“We came home to one spoiled dog! Emily did a fantastic job taking care of both Sugar and the house - really appreciate it! Highly recommend her if you're looking for a dog or house sitter.”
“First time using Rover. Overall great experience. Elise responds quick and was on time. She sent pictures and daily updates. Dogs seemed to really like her. We will be using Rover again!”

“We are so grateful to have found Ashley here on Rover! She took such great care of our Lab, Lilah, our shy kitty and our home while we were away. She played with and walked our dog often and send cute picture updates. We would highly recommend Ashley to anyone.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Caldwell
Rebecca was amazing, she would send pictures of our 2 girls daily and let us know that everything was good. They warmed up to her fairly quickly. Rebecca made us feel at ease while we were away because we knew they were in great care. Thank you Rebecca. If you are looking for someone that will set your mind at ease when it comes to your pets I would recommend her.

Marissa stayed with my 2 dogs for 8 days, in my home. They normally have separation anxiety and one loses little clumps of fur whenever I'm gone. My girls were happy, healthy and I found no clumps upon my return. Marissa followed directions and sent me some pictures while I was away.

Morgan was an incredible dog/house sitter. She sent me lots of pictures and videos of the boys (dogs) playing. You could tell that she loves her job. I will recommend her to any of my friends that ask me about her. This is the first time I used Rover, but it certainly won’t be the last.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Caldwell on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 959 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Caldwell. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Caldwell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Caldwell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Caldwell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Caldwell. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
