“Alinda communicated well, was very responsive, and took good care of my cat! She is reliable and friendly. If I was living in Boise longer I would definitely rebook her again for future trips.”

“Emily did an amazing job taking care of our dog Louie! He's a very energetic guy and she was awesome and took him for both a run and walk in the same day. We could tell he was well taken care of and would highly recommend Emily. We look forward to using her in the future!”

“Bailey is so good with my little dog. The 2nd time she came over, Fuji saw her coming to the door and wagged her tail like crazy! Bailey has the energy to give Fuji a workout like we as seniors sometimes don't have. We are very glad to have found Bailey!”

About: I have a calm, loving energy that dogs naturally feel drawn to and relaxed by, and making new dog friends is my favorite part of being a pet sitter! I have spent my adult life living in and caring for community spaces and relations, children, animals and gardens, and I am innately dedicated to routine, safety, and responsibility, to create functional and peaceful environments. I communicate clearly and consistently so you can always know how your pet is doing! A little about me: I’m an artist with an old soul and a playful spirit. I’m comfortable with big dogs, shy cats, energetic pups, and everything in between. Their uniqueness is a part of their perfectness, and I can't help but fall in love with their honest self expression! We’ll go for long walks, smell the plants, and lay on the ground for belly rubs. I’ll make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and deeply loved! I’m a student at Boise State, and I always have time gaps in my day that are perfect for dropping in to give pets a potty break, some playtime, or just a little love and company. Weekends are completely open for me, so I have lots of time for longer stays and house sitting. Spending time with animals is one of the highlights of my day, so it’s a really nice balance for school, and I look forward to it! I care for pets in their own home so they feel safe and comfortable in their routine. I follow your instructions closely, keep things tidy, and treat your pets like family. You can count on regular updates and photos so you always know they’re happy and cared for.
“Sarah always does a fantastic job. Its always scary leaving my very senior (and grumpy) kitty in someone else's hands but I know he is well cared for by Sarah. I hope to continue to book with her for all my future trips.”

“Christin is amazing! She’s always willing to go the extra mile and finds creative ways to keep our German Shepherd active and engaged, even on hot days when outdoor activity is limited. She even helped with diapering while our dog was in heat without hesitation. Junie absolutely loves when Christin comes over, and we have complete peace of mind knowing she’s in such caring and capable hands. We feel so lucky to have found her and highly recommend her!”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was about 12 for people in my town. I have various pets of my own back in my hometown. I have a dog, 3 cats, chickens, and cows and I loved them so much I decided to become a veterinarian. I have learned countless of tasks while working at a vet clinic, so I feel very qualified. I am a college student, so I have plenty of time outside of classes to help take care of other peoples pets. I have a lot of flexibility, so there are lots of times that work for me! I am able to do anything that you need me to do to keep your pets safe, happy, and healthy while they are under my care. I will treat them as if they were my own, if not better.
“Mikayla was awesome! She even helped one of our dogs with an itch spot she noticed. We think they may like her more than us now :) Would 100% use her again!”

“Josey was absolutely fantastic for our pups Sailor and Zazu. She communicates well, often, and is thoughtful in asking questions. If you are like me it is the most comforting to have someone you trust, your dogs love, and shows up for them when they need her. I will absolutely be checking to see if Josey is available for future visits!”

“Nicole is wonderful and was great with our pup while I was out of town and my husband was at work. She sent updates and photos with each visit and made sure Squid was fed, watered, walked and had potty breaks! She was friendly, professional and did a meet and greet before our booking to make sure we were all comfortable. We will definitely use her again when we need someone to drop in on and walk Squid.”

“Meredith is the best pet sitter I’ve ever had. You could not ask for more. Very responsive, goes above and beyond what’s needed, has a real feeling for what your pet needs. Outstanding. I’m so grateful.”

“Crystal always does a great job taking care of our cat. She gives him food, water, changes his kind of complicated litter system, and then spends time giving him pets and attention”

“Tiffany cared for my two cats while my pup and I went camping for a weekend. I had no service during the entire trip, which would normally make me feel anxious about leaving pets at home, but I was confident that they were in good hands! Once I got service again, I caught up on all the detailed updates Tiffany provided about my happy kitties.”

“Drew was perfect! He followed the directions and sent us very detailed updates. He shared several pictures each time he checked on our dogs, helping us feel better about leaving them behind. Drew is an above and beyond kind of person and that matters, thank you Drew!”

About: I’ve loved dogs my whole life—I grew up with two sweet pups, Maggie and Milly, and that’s where my passion for pet care began. Over the past four years, I’ve gained hands-on experience caring for a variety of dogs, each with their own personality and needs. Whether your pup is playful and energetic or older and needs a gentler approach, I bring patience, reliability, and genuine love to every visit. I treat every dog like they’re part of the family! I work from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. with a lunch break around 2 p.m., which gives me flexibility to incorporate pet care throughout the day. I’m happy to adjust my schedule as needed to make sure your pet gets the attention and care they deserve. While I’m not able to offer pet sitting in my apartment, I’m more than happy to come to your home to care for your beloved pet. Whether it’s staying overnight or dropping in for walks, playtime, or feeding during the day, I’ll make sure your fur baby feels safe, loved, and well cared for.

“Morgan was awesome! So awesome that when I got home from my trip my cat had learned how to speak English so he could tell me how awesome she was and how she not only fed him, played with him, and gave him his treats, but how he was mildly disappointed with me returning because he enjoyed her company so much! She’s now hopefully gonna be my go-to whenever I’m traveling!”

“Niki has been so helpful with our dogs. One is elderly and has been watched by her many times. This recent trip was the first time we also left our 4 yr old lab for an extended amount of time. Niki took the time to make sure our lab got exercise and both of our girls were in great spirits on our return. Everything went great!!”

Alie was extremely communicative and punctual with visits! It’s clear that she cared about our cats and their wellbeing as much as we do. She sent plenty of pictures and updates, and was so patient and gentle that our extremely shy boy came out of hiding for her! We don’t travel a ton but if we do again in the future, we will 100% be rebooking with Alie.

Our go-to sitter. She takes such good care of our (very clingy and needy) two cats. Even when we're gone on long trips, I know they're well taken care of and can rest easy. Sam is always on top of communicating with us about the boys (our cats) and sends us soooo many beautiful photos so we can see how they're doing and what they've been up to while we're gone. HIGHLY recommend this gem of a sitter 🧡

Stephani was amazing! She sent me photos and updates on the boys (our cats) each day. She was even able to coax them out of hiding to eat on the 3rd day. They are very frightened of people they don’t know. She also brought in a package that was left on our front porch. We have already booked with her for upcoming care fr the boys. I highly recommend and trust Stephani!

Morgan did awesome with my cat! I always appreciate a sitter with cat experience because my kitty requires good cat-reading skills. Onion warmed up to her very quickly, which I also loved. Morgan also brought and my mail and watered the plants, which was a kind extra. I also really appreciated all the questions she asked before booking to get the best sense of what to expect. It made it clear she knew what she was doing. Will definitely book again!

Kristi is by far the best pet sitter I’ve had in my 8 years as a pet owner. It is clear that she loves animals, as my cat was rolling over for belly rubs for her day one 🤭 Would recommend anyone who appreciates their pets to be cared for by a pet lover. Thank you again, Kristi!
Adia is absolutely amazing! She helped me out super last minute and took such great care of my cat. She was reliable, easy to communicate with, and gave me so much peace of mind knowing my kitty was in good hands. I would definitely recommend her and would trust her to watch my cat again!

I’ve booked with Kristi a couple times now, and I feel so much better about traveling knowing my kitties are well taken care of and checked in on while I’m gone. The daily updates and photos are really appreciated, and I know the kitties like having company. I highly recommend booking with Kristi!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Boise. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
