About: I've been around dogs my whole life and have always had a genuine love for animals. I have experience caring for dogs of different ages, personalities, and needs, and I've fostered dogs in the past. I'm able to provide plenty of time and attention to pets in my care after work and on weekends. I understand that every pet has their own routine, so I'm happy to follow their normal schedule as closely as possible to help keep them comfortable. Your pets safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I provide a calm, clean, and welcoming environment. I am happy to follow your pets usual routine, house rules, feeding instructions, and any special care needs. I always make sure doors, gates, and outdoor areas are secure and will keep you updated with photos and messages so you can feel confident that your pet is happy, safe, and well cared for.
“Brittney is fantastic! She saved me by agreeing to take care of my cats last minute, and she did a fantastic job. She sent such cute photos and was super responsive to all my messages. She also went above and beyond by helping me find a way to get my only key back from her since I was landing in the middle of the night. She’s great!”

“Emily was so sweet and great with Disco! Also very much appreciate her taking his litter out, would def book again and highly recommend to anyone else looking for a sitter.”

“Adam was wonderful at communicating with us and has such a kind and caring personality. We loved all of the funny photos we received and felt at ease while we were away, especially since Katsu does have rather meticulous medication needs. Adam was also clearly very mindful about keeping Katsu happy and comfortable, and respecting his needs/boundaries/quirks. We look forward to working with him again for future pet-sitting needs!”

About: I've have taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember. I am constantly around animals and having to commit myself to taking care of them. I am comfortable around all pets and I am very flexible and willing to learn how to best take care of your animal. When I come to take care of, play with, and walk your pets, I will dedicate my time to loving them. I've had 5 energetic dogs throughout my life. My family has had everything from small to really big. We had a papillon, papillon mix, pomeranian, pitbull/boxer mix, and a pitbull/german shepherd mix. My dogs were always the larger ones and I can handle walking very large dogs easily since my dogs weren't the best on the leash. Currently we have two dogs but I learned how to take care of them when they were babies, to when they were having old age problems. So, I can work with any range of age. I also have a cat in college now that I love taking care of. I am a student-athlete currently, but I always have time in the evenings to dedicate to taking care of a pet. I am available for drop-ins on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. When you are home, I would love to take your fur babies for walks, to dog parks, anything you already do with them to make them the most comfortable! I am a student-athlete at IU Bloomington, so my schedule is a little packed but I miss my pets and I also love to walk, so this sounded like a great option. I am free on Saturday after morning practice, all day Sunday, mostly all day Tuesday, and all day Thursday. :) I would care for my client's pets like they were my own. I can handle giving them constant attention, feeding, walking, watering, and everything else. I am 6'0 ft tall, so I can handle big dogs if necessary.
“It was wonderful having Samantha as my cat sitter. She followed my instructions thoroughly and communicated with me in a timely manner. I was very rest assured thanks to her visit. She does take care of my kitty. I would definitely ask her again in my future trips! 5 stars!”

“Sarah saved our lives! We moved to Bloomington shortly after getting married and dont know anybody in town to watch our cats who are basically our children. She really goes above and beyond.”

About: I’ve always loved animals and have spent years caring for them. Growing up, I regularly looked after stray animals in my home country by making sure they had food, water, and care whenever I could. I understand that every dog has a different personality and energy level, so I’ll take the time to make them feel comfortable and follow their routine. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, or simply keeping them company, I’ll treat your dog with patience, kindness, and the same level of care I’d want for my own pet. I’ll also keep you updated with photos and messages so you know your dog is happy and safe. I’m a college student with a flexible schedule, so I can work around classes and accommodate morning, afternoon, and evening visits whenever possible. I’m happy to provide drop-in visits, feed your pet, refresh water, clean litter boxes, play with them, and make sure they receive plenty of attention while you’re away. I’ll always communicate clearly and send updates so you know your pet is doing well. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I understand that every cat has a different personality, so I’ll respect their routine and let them interact at their own pace. I’ll carefully follow all feeding and care instructions, keep your home clean and secure during visits, and make sure your pet feels safe and cared for. I’ll also send photos and updates after each visit for your peace of mind
“Madison was great with our puppy, she did drop in vista. While caring for our dog, she played fetch with her while allowing her plenty of time to do her business outside. She was great with sending pictures and very responsive with text messages.”

About: I have been around dogs and multiple cats ever since I was 5, but have been pet sitting for a year as additional income. I have dog sat a range of breeds from german shepherds to Maltese's. My routine when I go on walks is as needed for the dog, but on average 3 walks a day (morning, afternoon, night) if you live in a neighborhood/condo, may vary depending on location. Please feel free to ask questions! I am currently a senior at Indiana University, and I have classes on Tuesday and Thursdays. So, I will have plenty of time for your pets! I love to go on evening walks with my roommates, play lacrosse, read, and attend IU football games! Ideally I would go to/stay your home so that your pet(s) are as comfortable as possible! I will cater my routine to your pets personality, if they are an early riser, so am I. If they like to lounge and watch 101 Dalmatians, so do I. I am here to make you and your pets lives easier!
“Patricia took great care of our cat while we were away. She was very responsive to communication and gave us thorough reports for each visit. We really appreciate the time she took to give our cat plenty of playtime and cuddles!”

“Alana did an amazing job taking care of my cat. Alana has cats which made me feel even more good knowing my cat was in good hands. Alana was communicative and very accommodating which I appreciated! Will definitely book again!”

“Mariah is invaluable! We really appreciated her thoughtful care of our cats while we were away. They were mischievous during our absence and Mariah was very gracious and had a great sense of humor about their antics. She was communicative, friendly and clearly cares a lot about animals. We felt much better about being away with them in her care.”

Kayleigh was SO good with our cats! She made sure they both had all their needs attended to and played with them so they didn’t get bored or lonely while we were away. One of our cats is skittish and he took to her really quickly. Our other cat is a SLOW eater but she made sure he was getting enough nutrition. Such a wonderful sitter!

Sarah went above and beyond caring for our cats when we were gone for two weeks! She was very proactive, and we really appreciated how she stuck to our cats regular feeding schedule and routine. It gave us peace of mind during our trip knowing our cats were being so well taken care of.

Lucinda took care of my cats when we were away for a week. She was very communicative, not only fed them and clean after them, but also administered one of my cat’s medicine regularly. Thank you very much Lucinda! We greatly recommend her and we will hire her next time again.

Lauren did a wonderful job taking care of my cat! This trip was the longest I have ever been away from him and I was a little bit worried about how he would handle it, but Lauren kept him well fed and gave him plenty of attention. She followed my instructions perfectly and even kept my plant alive! My cat was in very good hands while I was gone and I would gladly book with Lauren again.

Got it, here's that same style cleaned up with no dashes and the correct details: --- Kasey was fantastic with our pets! She followed our care instructions closely and took the time to play with them and make sure they felt loved while we were away. She also sent photos and a thorough daily report with every visit, which made being away so much easier. You can tell she genuinely loves animals and takes the job seriously. We'd book her again in a heartbeat and recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, attentive sitter. 😊

We are new to the area and when we decided to go out of town we needed someone new to check in on our cats. Adam was a huge help and relief. Our shy cats warmed go him quickly and were well taken care of while we were gone. Thank you so much for taking care of Salem and Benny while we were gone. Will look to book again when we go out of town again.

Patricia took the best care of our cat Nike for the week we were gone! Nike can be needy (and sometimes will throw up) and Patricia had no problem giving her plenty of attention and cleaning up her throw up the one day she did. I can tell Nike was extremely well taken care of and there is no doubt I’d have Patricia take care of her again!!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Bloomington. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
