We are so happy we found Sara for our French bulldog! She takes the BEST care of him. I don’t trust anyone with him because he’s had so many health concerns and Sara has gone above and beyond for him and us! We are so grateful!

Rachel is terrific. I have a difficult dog, and it takes patience, time and confidence to get him to trust a new human. Rachel took the time needed and won him over.

About: I have been called Dr. Dolittle my entire life. I have a knack for connecting with animals of all kinds. My very first job was working at a local farm with all different types of animals like horses, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, etc. It was one of my favorite jobs, I got lucky! I also worked at a dog boarding facility which gave me experience working with multiple dogs at once. I always give animals the space to have their specific personality and the respect they deserve, as I would treat a human. Animals are often misunderstood, I’ve always tried to meet them where they stand. If there is one thing I am confident in, it’s making an animal feel safe and comfortable. And they do the same for me :) I would love to meet your faithful friend! I currently work a very flexible part-time job and am pet-sitting most days as well. I am more than willing to work with your schedule. Working with animals is more than a job to me, I very much enjoy it. I will find ways to work with you and your pets personal needs. I love to schedule a meet-up before providing pet care. This is just to see that we are all on the same page and everyone feels it's a good fit. I do not offer services at my home. I will travel to your home so your pet can be where they are most comfortable. I work around you and your pets comfort. As a pet owner myself, I understand it can be hard to leave your companions in someone else’s care. I want to do what it takes to make you feel 100% safe and at ease when leaving your furbabies in my care.

Stuart had an issue getting my dog to go back in my home after her walk was over. Christmas Eve wanted to stay laying on the grass outside. Stuart immediately contacted me for assistance in getting Chrissy back in the home. She finally was coaxed to oblige with her favorite dog treat. Thank you again Stuart

Thank you so being so patient with my anxious baby. He truly must’ve thought you were taking him from me but he’ll get used to you soon enough! He’s never had a dog walker or been left alone with anyone but family, so thank you again for your patience and understanding!

Tara was great, she came early in the morning to help me walk my dog after suffering an injury the night before. She was on time and was just as excited to meet Koda as he was to meet her. She was able to handle him perfectly even with his 70lbs self trying to pull her. If I need another walk I would definitely be booking with Tara.

Raquel was an outstanding dog walker and lover of our dog while we were away on a longer trip. She gave great updates, communicated well, and even cleaned up parts of our house after our winter dog shedded excessively in the summer! We hope to use her in the future and highly recommend her!

Diana is an absolute GEM. My dog (and cats) love when she comes for her weekly walk with my little man. She brings a fabulous energy and is so sweet to all of my pets. She goes above and beyond, taking her time with my dog to play a quick fetch or giving the cats some scratches. Can’t say enough how glad we are to have a solid walker. As new dog moms, she’s relieved a lot of anxiety about how his day is going while we’re at work. I feel very comfortable leaving my pets in her care.

About: I am a life long dog lover with many years of experience taking care of dogs as well as fostering dogs in need! I believe boarding should feel less like a kennel and more like your dog is staying with family. That's why I keep my boarding groups small, so every dog gets plenty of individual attention, affection, playtime, and space to relax. Your dog becomes part of the household while they're here not just another dog on the schedule. Dogs are welcome to make themselves completely at home. They can curl up on the couch, nap on the bed, play with friends, or find a quiet place to relax when they've had enough excitement. And when they're ready for an adventure, there's plenty of that too! A typical stay can include walks, outdoor play, trips around town, dog park adventures when appropriate, and lots of one on one attention. My goal is simple, when you go on vacation, your dog gets a vacation too! Dog sitting is my full time focus, which means your dog isn't being squeezed into my schedule they're part of it! Being home and available throughout the day allows me to give each dog plenty of attention, playtime, outdoor breaks, walks, and, of course, plenty of time to relax and make themselves at home. When your dog stays with me, caring for them isn't something I do around my day, it's my day! 🐶❤️ Fewer dogs means more individual attention, easier supervision, more personalized care, and a calmer home environment. It also allows me to get to know each dog's personality and routine instead of treating every stay the same. Whether your dog wants to spend the afternoon playing with friends, following me around the house, exploring outside, or snoozing on the couch, I want them to feel comfortable being themselves.

Today was Lanie’s first time walking our pups. After our initial meet and greet yesterday, I felt very comfortable and confident that she provides thoughtful care of the pets she cares for. She accommodated a 30 minute shift in plans, and spent a good amount of time with the boys. They were both very calm and content when I got home. Thank you!

  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
