Stuart had an issue getting my dog to go back in my home after her walk was over. Christmas Eve wanted to stay laying on the grass outside. Stuart immediately contacted me for assistance in getting Chrissy back in the home. She finally was coaxed to oblige with her favorite dog treat. Thank you again Stuart

About: I have owned cats my entire life and have had my own beloved dog for 11 years. Working as a private instructor and teacher, I routinely enter clients' homes and have mastered the art of reading animal body language. I consider myself a bit of a dog and cat "whisperer"—I have zero fear or nervousness around animals, and pets quickly sense my calm, positive aura. I treat every animal I care for with the exact same love, respect, and high-quality attention that I give to my very own pets. As a teacher, my summer schedule opens up beautifully! While I will still be working with a few students, I schedule my lessons earlier in the day to ensure I have maximum flexibility for your pets. My weekends are 100% completely free and dedicated to pet care, and my late afternoons and evenings are entirely open as well. I am highly organized and communicative, so you will always know exactly when I am coming and going. Security, safety, and a calm environment are my top priorities. Because of my professional background as an in-home private instructor, I am deeply respectful of my clients' spaces, privacy, and household rules. I know how to keep a home secure, stick to strict feeding and medical routines, and handle any unexpected situations calmly. I excel at maintaining a stress-free environment so your pets feel completely relaxed, safe, and loved while you are away.

About: I’m reliable, communicative, and will always keep you updated with messages and photos so you can feel confident your pet is safe, comfortable, and cared for. I’ve been around and caring for dogs for most of my life, including my own dog Max, who I got when I was 14 and truly consider my soul dog. He passed away in July 2025 from complications related to megaesophagus, but for a year and a half before that, I helped manage his condition after we were initially told he only had 30 days to live. That experience taught me so much about patience, consistency, and providing attentive, specialized care. Because of these experiences, I’m especially comfortable with dogs who may need extra patience, have medical needs, or experience anxiety. I work full-time during the week, but I’m always available for morning and evening visits, including feeding, walks, playtime, and general care. I’m off every other weekend, as well as some Mondays and Fridays, which gives me extra flexibility for longer visits or overnight stays. I’m also happy to accommodate overnight care when needed, so your pet can stick to their normal routine and feel comfortable while you’re away. I’m reliable, communicative, and will make sure your pet gets consistent care and attention. In a client’s home, I aim to keep things as consistent as possible—following feeding schedules, walks, playtime, and any specific instructions you provide. I’m comfortable with feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes or picking up after pets, and making sure they get plenty of attention and care. I also make sure your home is respected and kept tidy while you’re away. For overnight stays, I help maintain your pet’s normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable in their environment.

About: I have over 7 years of hands-on experience in animal welfare, working with dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. In my role as an animal care and transport coordinator, I’ve been responsible for feeding, administering medications, maintaining clean and safe environments, and monitoring overall health and behavior. I have extensive experience with special needs pets, animals with behavioral challenges, and rescue animals, and I approach every situation with patience, confidence, and compassion. My background has strengthened my ability to read animal body language, manage high-energy or anxious pets, and respond quickly to their needs, ensuring they feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for at all times. Pet care fits easily into my routine as I’m a local UConn student living in the area. I have a flexible class schedule, which allows me to plan my days around visits, walks, or check-ins. This flexibility also makes it easy for me to accommodate different times and provide consistent, reliable care throughout the week. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize maintaining their normal routine to keep them comfortable and stress-free. I follow all care instructions closely, including feeding schedules, administering medications if needed, litter box cleaning, and providing plenty of attention, playtime, and enrichment. I also make sure the home stays clean and secure, and I send frequent text updates with lots of pictures to help ease owners’ minds and keep them connected while they’re away.

About: I’ve had a family dog for almost all of my life, I also used to work at a doggie daycare and currently work at a vet hospital. I’ve taken care of dogs for multiple friends!! I love dogs of all breeds and size, but I choose to watch one at a time so I can give all my attention to your fur baby! I work part time so I can watch dogs Sunday, Wednesday, or Saturday! I can do boarding for most dogs as long as they come with sleeping arrangements. I have a huge backyard with a gated pool and a pretty big front yard as well. When taking care of other dogs I have a super long rope I tie them up to so they can run freely because we don’t have any fences.

I will always communicate clearly about scheduling When caring for pets in a client’s home, I follow their normal routine as closely as possible to keep them comfortable and stress-free. About: Hi! My name is Priya - I’m a lifelong animal lover who grew up in a full house. Over the years I’ve lived with 7 dogs, 5 Siberian cats, 2 rabbits, and 8 birds. While I wasn’t always the primary caretaker as a kid, I grew up learning the essentials: feeding, cleaning, training, body language, and giving lots of love and attention. I also have experience with grooming (including bathing, brushing, nail trims), and with senior and special needs pets (including administering medications, eye drops, and insulin shots). I’m calm, observant, and patient, and I am intentional about everything I do. I treat every animal like they’re my own and would love to meet more furry friends! 💛 I am looking for part time positions and have flexible availability throughout the week! I would be more than happy to build a schedule that works with you! I value open and honest communication and understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care. I follow all care instructions closely, respect routines and boundaries, and pay close attention to behavior and body language. If anything feels unclear or out of the ordinary, I’ll always reach out, and I’m happy to provide lots of pics and updates so you feel confident and at ease.

About: I’ve grown up with animals of all kinds from as early as I can remember. Being the oldest of my siblings I was the first to have to take on the pet care chores, and this included both our dogs and our cats, and the other types of animals we had in our household. I have pet care experience with dogs and cats, as well as other pets too. When I moved out on my own with my previous partner (2012-2017) we had adopted three rescued cats, and I was the main administer of the diabetic cat’s insulin and late IV fluid treatments. My ex kept our cats in the split, but in 2018 I adopted my first dog completely on my own. She’s a rescue pit bull mix and now, with my current husband, she is joined by another rescued pit bull mix and a rescued cat. Last year we also adopted a red ear slider turtle off the street in Philadelphia and he now enjoys his aquatic terrarium with his guppy and pleco friends. In 2023 I briefly worked for a dog walking company in Ridgefield and was bit by one of the client’s dogs, unprovoked, and because of that I left the service after being blamed for the outburst and attack (despite telling the owners and the employer that the dog was getting increasingly aggressive with me and I wasn’t comfortable walking him anymore). It was the only time I had ever had an animal turn on me like that and it made me rethink working for a service where I wasn’t listened to or given proper protection. My husband and I have been Rover clients since we moved to Connecticut in 2023 and I am very happy to say we have never had a negative experience, which is why I have decided to lend my services to other pets and families in the area that are in need of an experienced pet caretaker. I am a professional actor so I have days that are marked off for auditions and work or rehearsals, however it is not a consistent time or place. I work throughout the Northeast, NYC, and the Mid Atlantic currently with my acting opportunities, but I am also open to short term travel as well. Because of that, my availability is very open some weeks and not as much on others, depending on what projects I am currently involved in and what the scheduling is like. I would love to spend more time your pets in my downtime and give them the attention they require, since mine are pretty saturated in it regularly. I have two dogs, which are extremely friendly and love other dogs, people, and cats! Our cat is very aloof so they wouldn’t be seen much in cases where pet sitting at my home is needed. Our yard is not fenced in but I am very accustomed to taking them out for walks, or having them leashed under my supervision in our yard. Because I live in Newtown, there are plenty of places to get some quality walks in, and we are also not far from open public dog parks either if that suits your furry friend! I also have my own car which I am more than comfortable transporting your pet in or coming to you for check ins or walks. Our dogs are up to date on vaccines so that is not a worry either, and I am diligent in making sure everyone has a great time when their friends (and our human friends) are over too!

About: I’m a serial long-term pet sitter, and have been pet sitting through Rover for several years! Our family- myself, my partner, Will, our 9 year old son & 5 year old daughter- are huge animal fans! I’ve owned dogs, cats, fish, and lizards myself. We currently have an outgoing, friendly, & vocal black cat named Calzone and a Tetra tank we affectionately call “The Kids”. I am the go-to pet sitter for several family members, friends, and neighbors. We have had pets stay with us for long term stays. So, long term & frequent stays are A-OK… your pet will be cared for like part of the family. I am comfortable caring for farm/hobby farm animals at your home as well. We moved to Bethel (Will & I grew up in the area) in 2024 from our home in Fairfield where we lived for almost 10 years & where I started with Rover! Our home is a single family farmhouse with a huge open yard, meadow, and ponds, abutting wooded trails and a short walk to Huntington Park. Our yard is not fenced, and although our street is relatively quiet, we always are with our visitor dogs when outside. Dogs with strong prey drive might not be a good fit for stays at our house, but could be a great fit for care in your home, walks, etc.

About: I’ve been around dogs and cats since I could walk, so caring for animals has always felt second nature. I also volunteer as a dog walker, socializer, and trainer at Danbury Animal Welfare Society, where I work with dogs of different temperaments, energy levels, and needs. My style is calm, patient, and attentive, whether your dog needs a real exercise walk, your cat needs a quiet check-in, or your older pet just needs someone gentle and consistent. I know trusting someone with your pet and your home is a big deal, so I take reliability seriously. I’ll show up when I say I will, pay attention to your pet’s routine, and send clear updates so you know they’re safe, happy, and cared for. I currently work full time, but my evenings and weekends are often free. I’m a good fit for weekend walks, evening check-ins, drop-in visits, and occasional pet care when your regular routine needs extra support. Because I value reliability, I only accept bookings I know I can show up for fully and on time. I pay close attention to each pet’s body language, comfort level, routines, and boundaries, and I never force interactions with people, dogs, or unfamiliar situations. For walks, I keep dogs securely leashed, avoid unsafe areas, and adjust the pace to the dog’s age, energy, and temperament. I’m comfortable with shy, anxious, energetic, and older pets, and I believe patience and consistency go a long way. For drop-ins, I’ll respect your home, follow your instructions carefully, check food, water, litter, doors, and gates, and send clear updates so you know how your pet is doing.

Caroline has been an awesome dog walker and always takes great care of my dog Lolo! He always seems so happy when I come home at the end of the day. One time, she went out of her way to bring him some food after the walk session is finished when she noticed that my dog food ran out and she didn’t want him to starve. My baby is so lucky to have her! I’ll continue to trust her with my fur baby. Thank you so much :)

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
