“This was Grace's first time watching Maisy at my apartment while I had an out-of-town trip for a night. Maisy took to Grace immediately at the meet-and-greet and was excited to see her again when it came time for my night away. Grace was understanding about my one-key situation and was accommodating for meeting to exchange the keys at the beginning and end of her time with Maisy. Grace was gentle on my apartment and sent me a few updates while I was away. Everything seemed to go smoothly! I'm a nervous dog-mom, so it takes quite a bit to win my assurances.”

“Dylan was amazing with our Dobermans Storm and Damen!!! He stayed with them in our home and not only was he great with them and they loved him. Thank you and we will definitely be reaching out to Dylan again!!!”

“Milagros did a good job taking care of our dogs while we were away. She was reliable, communicated well, sent photos, and made sure they were well fed and walked.”

“Zoe, was very attentive to our dog. From the photos she sent, we could tell our dog was very happy with her. Zoe was professional and left our home as clean as she found it. I highly recommend her.”

I currently work full time in Burr Ridge from 8 AM to 4 PM. I’m available after work and on the weekends to care for your fur babies. I can easily adjust to your pet or pets schedule. I can take them for walks or hangout with them in a fenced yard. I can stick to your feeding schedule and I can also give medicine if needed.
“Kaleigh went above and beyond to help my sick kitty girl. My cat normally has medications, but at the last minute Kaleigh had to give an antibiotic twice a day plus the other medications injected orally. She did it with ease and flexibility. I could tell my cat really liked her since she was so happy in the photos she sent me. She even came by after she was done to make sure my cat wasn’t suffering without the AC on. She’s wonderful, caring and so reasonable. I highly recommend her.”

“Diane continues to be our most favorite, go-to sitter! Our dog is always happy and calm when we come home, she communicates thoroughly throughout the day, and I have 100% confidence that our dog is cared for & loved!”

“I have had some pretty crazy experiences with dog-sitters in the past and Sarah was so great with my girl. Glory is a very sensitive dog and we’ve been going through a lot of changes around the house/personally and it was such a relief to know someone so caring was with her while I had to be away. Sarah sends lots of photos and updates, is very down-to-earth, and left my home how a houseguest should…as they found it. She even went above and beyond to strip the bed she slept in. Sarah is a great person to have take care of your loved ones while you’re away.”
“It was our first time getting a sitter to stay in our home and care for our 3 dogs for 2 days and Kathryn did not dissapoint. She was very attentive, sweet, patient, and understood all the directions on what to do for our 3 fur babies since they all have different eating habits and personalities. She made sure she texted me throughout her stay if she had any questions and sent us plenty of pics to keep us updated. She was very respectful of our home too. Her price is completely reasonable and I felt like the kids were in good hands with her. I would ask for her help again in the future and I definitely recommend.”

“He was able to respond really fast and had availability last minute which was wonderful. He came over and immediately had a rapport with my dog it was so nice. He sent picture updates the whole time I was away and when I got home my pets were happy and healthy! Thanks so much Jacob!!!!”

“Sarah is absolutely amazing. She is trustworthy, profesional, reliable and the most caring person! It is such a relief to have zero worries about my home and my baby while we travel. Thank you Sarah for being the fabulous soul and taking the best care of Pixie!”

About: I’ve been taking care of animals since I was 8. I have lots of experience walking, feeding, playing with and hanging out with dogs of all breeds. I have plenty of time on my hands to play with your fur babies as I am currently working on launching my own business. I am available weekdays after 12pm and on the weekends. I have 2 cats who will love a new friend. I believe the biggest piece of finding the right sitter is trust and peace of mind. “Vicente is extremely reliable and took amazing care of my two babies while i was out of town. Keep me updated the whole time. So many amazing photos and videos. Highly recommend!”

“We had Cheryl watch our senior dog, who had only ever been left overnight with family before, so I was definitely a bit nervous. Cheryl was absolutely wonderful and put my mind at ease right away. She took such great care of our dog and kept us consistently updated, which meant so much to us. We could not be happier with the experience and will definitely be using Cheryl again in the future. Highly recommend!”

“Emmet did an amazing job watching our dog, Rio! He shared updates and ensured our dog was well taken care of while we were gone. I would recommend him to anyone and will absolutely be booking him again.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Berwyn
Grace house sat for us for 6 nights and we were very pleased with her services. We received daily updates & pics of our pets, which was reassuring that everyone was doing well and not missing us too much. We also appreciated that our mail was taken in and plants were watered. Thanks so much Grace, we hope you will sit for us again!

Katalina went absolutely above and beyond when it came to caring for our fur babies while we were away! This was our first time using rover and naturally are always anxious when leaving our two dogs. With Katalina watching them we were able to enjoy a weekend away with no worry in mind!

Marin is a fantastic pet sitter. We have an older guy and she was really great with him. She is a naturally good communicator so we didn't worry at all while we were away. Also, Marin stayed at our home and was a perfect guest. We would book her again in a heartbeat.
We are incredibly grateful for Sarah. It was our first time using rover and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Her attention to detail for our pet family was phenomenal. Our dog is a senior and reactive and picky with people, but Sarah has become his new bff. She’s got great vibes with the pets and it really helped us feel at ease knowing they were in great hands with Sarah. Thanks so much! We’re super lucky and grateful to meet you and work with you!

We had to find pet care for our week long trip on short notice. From the beginning Maribel was very flexible and responsive. We met for a meet and greet and our dog Ivy, who is not usually friendly with strangers in her home, brought Maribel her favorite toy after a brief sniff. We got daily updates and pictures. Ivy always looked happy and well cared for. We will definitely trust Maribel to care for our pup in the future.

Miguel is more professional and reliable than we could have hoped for in house sitting to care for our Australian Shepard. Miguel is absolutely wonderful, respectful, responsible, and knows dogs!! Our Aussie was well taken care — exercised, fed, meds every morning, and loved. I recommend Miguel and we plan to ask him to watch our pup in the future.

Mya was excellent! She watched my dog over 4th of July weekend and I really appreciated the updates and her trying to make my dog calm amidst fireworks. She was very responsive and sent lots of picture updates! She took my dog to the park (the one I said he loved) and didn’t just quickly take him outside for bathroom breaks like I’ve had some other dog sitters do. I highly recommend booking her services!

Samuel is amazing!! He jumped in to help last minute when our original care plans for our pup fell through for a holiday weekend - and we could not be more grateful to have found him! He sent so many wonderful pictures and updates that made it easy for us to enjoy our time away, knowing our dog was being so well cared for! When we got home, everything was cleaner than how we left it and JoJo (who can be anxious) seemed calm and happy. We hope to work with Sam again and can’t recommend him more highly! We have worked with many people from Rover and working with Samuel is the best experience we’ve had so far.

Ariana was an incredible sitter. She was so sweet and loving to my dog, Roo. It helped me not worry as much knowing my dog was in such good hands. While she was sitting, the AC for my second floor went out during the extreme heat in Chicago. Ariana was very understanding which allowed me to schedule someone to fix the AC while she was there. She communicated everything to me from the repairman and I was able to get it resolved. Couldn’t have asked for a better sitter!

Justice is absolutely wonderful! She is so friendly and caring and we had zero worries while we were away. She was communicative, punctual and handled a completely unexpected event with calmness and professionalism. I would recommend her to anyone looking for pet care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Berwyn walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Berwyn maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Berwyn choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Berwyn. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
