About: I've enjoyed having a dog since before I moved out of the house. My current dog, Leo is very friendly with all the neighbors-the kids love to stop and pet him. I've helped with dogs and cats when friends and neighbors are out of town. My sister's dog, Ferguson, a terrier/chihuahua mix has stayed with us off and own for a few years. It's interesting how you rise the occasion when you have a sick pet. My dog Sampson suffered from cancer several years ago now, and part of the treatment was to provide him with subcutaneous saline. In exchange for all the love and comfort a pet provides, it's paramount that we as owners provide the same in return. I am a recent retiree and have a flexible schedule. Weekday and weekend opportunities to help people with their pets is easy for me to do. All my dogs have been crate trained. When we leave the house it is not an issue to use the crate. My current dog, Leo behaves very well in the house alone, so we use the crate less and less with him. Almost always he camps out by the back door waiting for us to come home.

“Anna is the best!!”

“Carla is a warm, kind, affectionate person who genuinely cares about my puppy. She was on time, respectful of my home, and rules for my dog. I plan to use her again in the future. I feel lucky to have found her.”

“Jay was great at communicating, flexible with some last minute changes, and was great with my high-energy basenji. I will definitely book with Jay again.”

About: I’ve had pets my whole life, but have been taking care of them since I was around 10. I have 4 cats and a dog at home and they’re awesome!! I get along great with cats and am super patient with all animals. I am a student at Agnes Scott College, and I’ll be in Decatur all year, including the summer! I will be working from 8am-4pm on weekdays, but have weekends free. I’ve had cats and dogs for most of my life and I love taking care of them! I can walk your dog and take them to the park or crate them if needed. For cats, I can sit with them and give them lots of attention and all the head rubs they want.

About: Dogs make my world go round! My current dog, Lucy is a pitbull mix that we adopted in New Orleans. She is a sweet, big girl with a lot more energy than my previous dog, a husky/greyhound mix from New York. I grew up with dogs and I understand how to take care of a diverse range of breeds, needs, and personalities. I love to walk dogs, play, cuddle, take them to the dog park, and more! I have a flexible schedule. I currently work part-time as I am home for the summer but can fit your dog's schedule into my own! I am available on weekends and nights. I am comfortable walking your dog and caring for them in any way which works best for them. If they like dog parks, I can take them too. I am unable to board dogs or take them to my own home.

“Meredith was very attentive to my dog Pope! She was prompt, great at communication, and made sure she had all the details down prior to caring for him. Will book again!”

About: I’ve grown up with dogs in my family, watching neighborhood friends’ dogs, and now have a dog of my own (Maggie). Maggie gets along with almost every dog and generally leaves those that stay with us alone. I’m happy to do meet and greets to make sure Maggie and your dog are comfortable! I've been watching my parents' large golden doodle regularly and have a yard to accommodate more. I work from home so I am easily able to accommodate walking and feeding schedules. I am happy to sleep at a clients’ house as long as my dog can join. I have a fenced in yard that is easy to take dogs out for quick breaks but my neighborhood is also very walkable for dogs.

“Stacy was great - I have a senior lab with mobility issues and she was able to help him in and out of my house while I had a long work day. Thanks!”

“Jenn is the best dogsitter you will ever, ever, ever have and here’s why. Nobody cares more than Jenn. Nobody is more compassionate than Jenn. Nobody loves dogs more and goes above and beyond for their clients more than Jenn. She is by far the best dogsitter, co-dog mom, and friend any dog or cat mom or dad could ever ask for. Jenn is so experienced and she is the only person that when I leave town, I don’t even think twice! That’s because she treats every dog or cat like they are her own. She truly cares and takes such amazing care of her client’s fur babies. Jenn has been there for me during some very difficult times and on short notice, when I lost a family member, when I had to work out of town for 20 days straight, and much more. She takes the time to spend quality time with your pet and always makes sure they are loved. I would be NOWHERE without Jenn and no one will ever measure up. She is the gold standard for pet care and we love her SO MUCH!”

“Peggy is a true gem- a dedicated and loyal person who truly cares about our dog. Her enthusiasm is translated through the photo texts she sends us (great photos!!) and the upbeat mood in our dog when we get home. They bonded immediately- and we can breathe a bit easier when we are away; knowing that our beloved poochie is in the best of hands.”

About: New to Rover? Ask me for a promo code to get $20 off your first booking! I work from home full time now so I am available most days for walks and drop ins. I have grown up with dogs and cats in my house. In college, I couldn't have pets where I lived but I volunteered with the local shelter to take dogs out for "happy hour" where I took them to parks and played with them to meet others and get them out of the shelter! I am now a dog mom to a little miniature dachshund so I no longer do house sitting services. I work from home with a pretty flexible schedule and open most weekends I try to keep my rover calendar up to date for any days I am not available 🐶🐱 In their home, I will follow their normal rules whether it’s where they’re allowed to go or what furniture they can/can’t get on. Crating if that’s what they usually do. use their usual leash/harnesses. If your dog/cat normally sleep in bed with you that works with me as well!

“Growing up, Mike and I always had dogs....sometimes ones that he and I found as strays. He has has several larger dog breeds as an adult, and they have always had long healthy lives. Mike really enjoys hiking and having a four legged companion with him will provide the dog with exercise and necessary stimulation. Being retired allows Mike to be flexible with his scheduling and allows for a wider range of availability.
