“Lea kept Prince, our Pomeranian, for a week while we were on vacation attending a family reunion. She is a great communicator and sends pictures and notes daily on how Prince is doing. We felt very comfortable leaving him in her care. Seeing him relaxed and happy assured us he felt right at home! We would not hesitate to use her services again. Thank you so much, Lea! Prince misses you already! 🥰”

“Astrid and her family took such good care of my puppy! My puppy was very comfortable and happy staying with her and her family. She is knowledgeable, kind, and sent updates throughout his stay. Highly recommended her! Will be booking with her again. Thanks, Astrid!”

“This is my first time using rover and was really anxious about dropping off my 11mo pup to a stranger. Shuvashna popped up on my search and after reading through the reviews, I felt confident she would take good care of my pup!! I was right, from the get go she was very responsive and I felt very comfortable. Pictures and videos and updates were sent during the time we were away and it made me happy seeing my guy happy!!! He was definitely having his own doggie vacation! If you are looking for someone who will take care of your dog as well as you do, Shuvashna is your best bet!!”

“I had a fantastic experience trusting Jenna with my two pups and will definitely use her again! She is kind and gentle and has a great understanding of dog dynamics. She keeps her place clean which I also appreciate. Communication was great as well.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Kendal. My dog has many quirks and she noted them attentively and was able to make him feel at ease in her home. We also were able to relax knowing he was in her care. We are grateful we found her and will definitely be calling her again!”

About: Hello fur babies and parents! My name is Amelia, I have lived in the bay for almost 10 years! I'm a big animal lover but can't have a dog so I decided to get on Rover to get my puppy fix this way. Ive successfully trained and worked with all type of dogs (from calm pitbulls to reactive chihuahuas and vice versa ). I look forward to taking your babies out on walks and helping care for them when you're out of town. I work from my pet free home so I have a flexible schedule and can work with anxious clients. Happy to answer any questions :) I live in a quiet, smoke/child/pet free home. My neighborhood is very calm and I have nice parks to walk to. Apartment is fenced so no worries on the babies running out.
“Megan and Jenny exceeded our expectations by providing daily updates and of course superb care for Turbo. I could tell Turbo enjoyed the environment and interactions with Megan and Jenny. High recommended!”

“Natalia is the best with my puppies. She sent pics everyday and spoiled them so much. I extended the stay of my pups and she did above and beyond to accommodate my request. We were so lucky to find her and my pups love her.”

“Tatiana and Lenin took amazing care of my high energy dog. They gave her lots of attention, took her for long walks and played with her, and sent me lots of pictures and videos throughout her stay so I was reassured that she's being well taken care of. I couldn't have taken better care of her myself and I would recommend Tatiana and Lenin's services to anyone. I'm looking forward to booking with them again in the future.”

“Absolutely wonderful experience with Ying! She took amazing care of our dog and kept us updated every day with photos and details about his walks and activities. Our dog is a picky eater, and she even went above and beyond to prepare homemade meals for him! What impressed us most was how happy and comfortable he was throughout his stay. He showed no signs of separation anxiety, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. It’s clear that he absolutely adores her! Ying is incredibly caring, attentive, and thoughtful. We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and would happily book with her again. Highly recommend!”

“Being a first time user of Rover. I was feeling skeptical on using a dog sitter that wasn't recommended or known. As a pet owner, you worry about who you trust to watch your pet. I researched and chose Clare after reading her reviews. My skepticism went away when Clare suggested a meet and greet to make sure my dog felt comfortable at her house with her dog Clare was great. She took interest in my dog and wanting to know more about her. Clare is very caring and maintains a very safe and clean environment for the dogs. We ended up booking with Clare and my dog was so well taken care of. Clare welcomed my dog as if it was her own, she took pictures and kept me posted on how she was doing, and the best part my dog was happy to be there with Clare! I have already rebooked with Clare and highly recommend her!”

“Leaving your dog for 2 weeks can be incredibly stressful, but Dean made me feel completely comfortable from the start. Thanks to him, I worried so much less while I was away. He sent daily updates and pictures, and in every photo, Koji looked relaxed and right at home. Dean truly treated Koji like his own dog and gave him so much love. He was fantastic at following all of my specific instructions for Koji’s daily feeding and grooming routines. I also really appreciated how attentive he was. He noticed a slight quirk in Koji's behavior and immediately checked in with me to make sure it was normal for him. It’s rare to find someone so observant and caring. I highly recommend him and will absolutely trust him with Koji again!”

My pup had a great stay and was perfectly taken care of. Simone offered clear, ample communication about the scheduling as well as an update on pickup time that gave us both more time in the evening. Both our dogs got along great, really seemed to meet my husky’s energy. And there’s a lot of that! Definitely I recommend and will stay with her again.

First time using this app. Julia responded right away and made everything super easy. Even met before the stay to make sure it would be a good fit with their dog. I have a bigger dog that I don’t really trust just anyone walking/pet sitting so it was a huge relief to find someone with so much experience working with animals. I got a bunch of pictures during the stay of my dog apparently having the time of his life with Julia and her dog and he slept all day when we got back home. Cannot recommend enough, I’ve already rebooked for my brother’s wedding and plan on booking with them in general going forward whenever I have to leave town.

Baxter had a great time with Adrienne and her family, and I had peace of mind knowing he was being cared for so well! I really appreciated Adrienne’s clear communications and attention to the details of Baxter’s routine before his stay and enjoyed getting the regular photos and updates. It was clear that Baxter felt very much at home. Huge thanks!

Our normal sitter wasn’t available and we were scrambling to find someone that could watch our 2 huskies for 2 weeks. Jon and Tatiana were responsive from the beginning which took a lot of stress off my mind. Not only did it seem like the perfect environment that my dogs were use to, but the regular pictures I was getting throughout our trip with their kids hugging my dogs and seeming to be very comfortable gave me an amazing sense of relief. Couldn’t recommend them more for the job they did watching my four-legged family members.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A huge thank you to Cindy and her husband, MJ, for taking such amazing care of Kingston and Kao! 🐾❤️ We truly couldn’t have asked for better sitters! They kept us updated with messages and photos throughout their stay, which gave us so much peace of mind. Now, Kingston can be a handful at times 😂, but not once did Cindy or MJ complain or make us feel like he was too much to handle. Instead, they made us feel completely comfortable and reassured that both of our babies were in great hands. That alone meant so much to us! We truly appreciate their patience, kindness, and the love they showed Kingston and Kao. It feels good knowing you can leave your fur babies with people who genuinely care. We will absolutely be booking with them again! Highly recommend! ❤️🐶🐾

We can’t recommend Brenda enough! This was our first time using Rover, and we were nervous about leaving our husky, Kiley, who has separation anxiety and takes a daily pill. Brenda put us at ease right away. She works from home, so Kiley was never left alone. She answered all our questions and had a fenced backyard ready for Kiley. Kiley was calm and settled in on day one. Over our 10-night stay, Brenda took her on walks and to the park, adjusting around the heat. The updates were the best part. We got regular messages with tons of photos and videos, and we could see Kiley was happy, well-behaved and getting spoiled. Brenda was also flexible and friendly when our pickup time shifted. We were able to enjoy our vacation knowing Kiley was in great hands. Brenda treated her like family. Highly recommend, and we’ll be booking her again!
We’re so glad to have connected with Shivani! We’ve been looking for a dog sitter in the area for a while. Our 5-year-old German Shepherd can be reactive with other dogs, so we’ve been nervous to leave him with just anyone. From our first meet-and-greet with Shivani and her dog Loki, we were put at ease. Shivani was patient and listened to our concerns. She stayed in communication with daily photos and updates, and kept active with walks to the marina. We’ll definitely rebook with her the next time we go out of town.

Irene was so sweet and loving to my dog, who I had to unexpectedly board for a long work weekend. I missed her so much but I had no worries because she was in such good hands, playing with Irene's family and own lovely dog. I would not hesitate to hire her again and I trust her completely.

Kimberly went above and beyond for my senior dog while I was away for a long weekend. My sweet boy Ace is 18, so he doesn’t do much other than sleep! However he does have lots of health issues and is a really picky eater, so I was nervous to leave him. But Kimberly made me feel so much better while I was away. When he didn’t want the food I’d sent him with, she shared some of her own dog food and even cooked some other things for him that he liked. When he had an accident and fell into his poop (he has very weak legs from arthritis), she gave him a bath. She sent updates throughout the day every day and it was such a comfort to me knowing what good care she was taking of my sweet old man. I would happily book her services again! Highly recommend!

Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
93% of sitters in Ashland can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Ashland home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Ashland.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Ashland sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
