About: As an avid animal lover, I've had extensive experience taking care of various pets of all ages and sizes. My experience ranges from the more common dogs and cats to birds, hedgehogs, lizards, horses, fish, etc. I've been fortunate enough to care for pets of my own and been entrusted with the care of pets belonging to friends and extended family. I've also had the opportunity to spend over a decade volunteering at animal shelters in central Maryland. As someone who has used Rover previously for petsitting services myself, I understand how nerve wracking it can feel to leave your loved one in the hands of someone new. You can rest assured that I will provide the same love and devotion to your pets as I do my own :) If you're interested in booking any services with me, I would love to do a meet and greet with you and your pets. This allows me to get acquainted with everyone and have a full understanding of their needs, habits and schedule to ensure the most positive experience for them. My schedule is open so I'm able to provide much more flexibility to accommodate your schedule and your pet's needs! Please see my calendar for specific availability :) While in my care, I can provide pictures and updates on how your pets are doing as often as you would like! Prior to providing any services, I would also love to schedule a meet and greet with you and your pet(s) prior to providing any services. This will allow me the chance to meet your pet(s) with you present and gain a full understanding of their needs, including dietary and medical (if applicable), habits and any preferences they may have. I will be sure to carefully follow all your instructions so I can ensure your pets have the safest, happiest time in my care :)

“Janine is the best. I can’t always count on her to walk Burke with such short notice. He loves his walks with her. And she is great with responding to my questions”

“I could not be happier with Sam and the excellent care he provided for my dog, Walter! I needed to be out of town for the better part of a week, and having just moved to town, did not have any friends or family to watch after my large canine; Sam to the rescue! I had never used this service or this site before, so initially was a tad skeptical. After Sam's quick response, and then after meeting him in person, I knew Walter would be in good hands. I initially approached him requesting two walks per day, but due to his reasonable pricing, I suggested that I would be interested in adding a third walk every day. Even though I'm sure it was a bit out of the way, he accepted the extra work with alacrity. On top of all this, when I needed to put Walter on antibiotics last-minute, Sam was more than happy to administer the medicine. It was clear from the "Rover Cards" that Walter was getting great walks, and truly first-rate overall care. I would absolutely use Sam's service again, and would recommend him to anyone needing hassle-free, reliable care. I hope he is available if and when I need him again. Thanks Sam!”

“Susan was a BLESSING for me and my dog when we needed a last minute check-in. She was so incredibly thorough and took great care to make sure she fit our routine and connected with Birdy. I recommend Susan to absolutely anyone who’s looking for competent care, a bubbly personality, and patience with an energetic and home-defending fuzz butt!!! We loved her!”

About: Newer to Rover but very experienced dog walker/pet sitter. Very positive, kind, and patient. Familiar with many types of leashes, collars, and harnesses, and able to deal with dogs who pull. Have cared for and walked reactive and/or aggressive dogs. Available for ongoing services or one time/as needed. Dog and Cat First Aid certified by the Red Cross. Also experienced with puppies, seniors, and in dealing with surgical recovery limitations. Looking most for weekday dog walks or drops ins, and in-home boarding. Willing to do small amounts of training on walks (basic obedience, assisting with already started leash manners, treats/clicker, etc). Not willing to take dogs off leash (when off property) or to public dog parks. Comfortable dog walking in any non-emergency weather including rain and snow. Happy to put on dog raincoats, dog shoes, etc. Have also carried puppies in dog backpack carriers for short walks. For boarding situations, I have a half acre 4 bedroom house with a fenced yard (6 feet mostly, with a 5ft driveway gate). The yard has plenty of grass, a dog kiddie pool, lots of toys, a huge sandbox I built for digging, and lounging furniture on the back patio. I let dogs on most furniture in my home. I have 3 crates if that is desired or needed (one Xl wire, 1 XL fabric, 1 M wire, with beds/pads). I'm a non smoker and work part-time from home. I do already have an active 16 month old golden retriever who is very friendly to people and dogs. It would not be the best fit for a more tentative senior dog, or a dog-aggressive dog. House has tons of dog puzzles, toys, sniff mats, freezebones, kongs, pupsicles, flirt poles, etc for enrichment. I live in catonsville which has safe sidewalked suburban roads for walking, and I'm also extremely close to Patapsco state park for short hikes. I am not able to board cats for allergy reasons. I have a detailed and careful procedure for introducing boarding guests to my own dog. Contact me for more information about this procedure, and also for more details about a particular stay. I do ask for a detailed schedule for boarding guests. Boarded dogs receive plenty of supervised play time outdoors with my dog, plus several leash walks outside (distance varies based on dog's needs). I currently telework part-time some weekdays, so I am able to provide pet care almost any day/time of the week. For weekday dog walking or drop in visits, I am able to do 30 or 60 minute walks. I always make sure that items on counters are out of reach of pets. I ensure that doors and windows are locked when I am not home, and that pets are in their crate (or designated bedroom). I keep careful track of medication doses including writing down each administration in a log book. I can keep dogs crated during certain times if needed. I am respectful of the pet owner's wishes regarding pets on or not on furniture. I keep dogs away from other dogs while on walks and never have them off leash unless in the home or in a fenced yard. I also make sure to always use the correct collars, leashes, and harness when walking. I always have the owner's contact information, their emergency contact's information, and their vet's information on hand in case of emergency. I have made an effort to remove any potentially toxic plants from my yard, and fenced off a small pond to ensure no pet access. I bring treats on walks to reward good behavior and to offer a trade in case a dog picks up something off the ground on a walk. I have drinking water and large clean kiddie pool in the yard to stay cool, plus much of my yard is shaded. I have smoke detectors and carbon monoxide alarms throughout my home. I am the only person in my home during a boarding stay, and my own dog is the only other dog. I don't accept boarding bookings from multiple people at the same time. I take a lot of photos and provide a lot of updates to the owner, and take many steps to ensure a happy introduction to my own dog. Depending on the dog, I may also put up a couple of baby gates throughout my home to ensure safety.

About: Hi, I’m Michael! I’ve spent the past few years helping care for my stepmother’s pets whenever she needed an extra hand. At first, I didn’t think much of it — but over time, I realized how much I truly enjoyed it. That passion inspired me to start offering my pet care services to others! Here’s a little about my experience: • Feeding pets on a regular schedule • Walking and cleaning up after them • Administering medications (pill form) • Refilling water and ensuring hydration • Spending quality time playing, relaxing, and keeping them company I treat every pet like family, and I’m committed to making sure they feel happy, safe, and loved while you’re away. I am currently a college student at UMBC and work at a bar on Thursday nights. As a result, my availability is primarily on Fridays and weekends. I am generally free during these times unless I have a prior commitment. I make it a priority to maintain a flexible schedule to provide attentive and reliable care for your pets When caring for pets, I carefully follow all instructions provided by the owner, making sure to stick to every detail. I take pride in being thorough and dependable because I believe every pet deserves the best care. My goal is to ensure that each pet feels safe, comfortable, and happy while their owner is away.

About: I’m a dog owner, and have been trusted by friends and neighbors to watch dogs of all breeds and sizes! I love long walks, and am able to do overnights or walks/checkins as needed! I’m a recent college graduate and mostly doing freelance/remote work as I put together law school applications. This means I have lots of time to care for your furry friends! Pets in my home will get to hang out with my very friendly dog, Goose, and are allowed in all rooms of the house. We’re careful to keep any substances that are harmful to pets out of the way. In your home, I’ll be sure to take excellent care of your pets, and am happy to help with watering or picking up mail!
