About: I’ve been taking care of animals for over 10 years. I have grown up with both cats and dogs, and I currently have a 3 year old cat of my own. I also volunteer with BARCS for their dogs day out program, so I have a lot of experience with big dogs. I currently work full time in logistics, and I work from home 3 days a week. I have free time throughout the day on my remote days and on the weekends as well. I always like to take care of animals as if they are my own. Your animals will always be safe and secure and I always go the extra mile to make sure they are as comfortable and safe as possible.
“Brent is wonderful with my very energetic Staffie! He always runs things by me. Like, “hey, can I run with Maya?” I’m thinking, “heck yeah! Tire that dog out!” I get home to a nice tired pup.” My wife is disabled and cannot walk her on days I’m at work.”

About: I have been pet sitting since I was 16, for different varieties of animals. I have grown up with dogs all my life, and I currently also have a cat. I absolutely love animals and in my free time I take dogs out for the day at BARCS animal shelter. I would love to take care of your pets! I work at the hospital 3 days a week, on my off days I would love to take care of your animals! I love to walk, read, do crafts, and play with my cat. I live in an apartment complex with my cat, I am happy to visit/walk your pets. I love animals of all kinds and will provide the best care to them.
“Madison is excellent and she does excellent work! I highly recommend her. She is timely, thoughtful, considerate and takes very good care of Lilly. I am very happy with Madison's service!”

“Natasha is the best! She was very thorough and stayed in constant communication with me. She treated Bentley with love and care. His walks were documented and I loved the pictures she sent. Will definitely recommend without reservation. Can’t wait to rebook with her again soon.”

“Yeji came three time a day to walk Eilidh while I was recovering from surgery. She was friendly, communicative, and arrived on time. Most importantly, she treated my fur baby well, giving her affection and some much needed exercise/potty time. I will definitely reach out to Yeji if I ever need help again.”

“I needed a last minute sitter and Tabitha came to the rescue. At first meeting her and Scout were fast friends. She did such a great job taking care of him. You can tell she truly takes pride and cares about the furry friends in her care. Thank you Tabitha! I appreciate you and would highly recommend!”

“We loved our first experience with Rover, Elinor, and Spencer! They were able to come over before to meet Ollie and make sure it was a good fit. They were trustworthy and timely. I will absolutely be using them again.”

“Menkaure was very kind, respectful, and punctual. He has a very calming personality that jives well with my rambunctious dogs. He took my two large Huskies for 4 walks in the past week and he did an amazing job. He followed all instructions and the dogs loved him.”

“Susan was a BLESSING for me and my dog when we needed a last minute check-in. She was so incredibly thorough and took great care to make sure she fit our routine and connected with Birdy. I recommend Susan to absolutely anyone who’s looking for competent care, a bubbly personality, and patience with an energetic and home-defending fuzz butt!!! We loved her!”

About: I’ve been an animal lover my entire life and love meeting new furbabies. I currently have three cats of my own, 12, 10, and 2 years old. I have years of experience caring for pets of all ages and types (lizards, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, sugar gliders, birds, etc.). I am currently home full-time and am available for multiple drop in visits any time of the day, or can have one small dog in my home (if cat friendly) for either boarding or doggy daycare. I am able to administer medications both orally and via syringe if needed. I am also able to provide services like nail clipping for cats. I am currently home full-time and available seven days a week for either boarding, day care, walks, or drop in visits any time of day. Safety is of extreme importance to me. I treat all animals with care as if they were my own. I can accommodate any types of requests to ensure the environment for your pets is up to your standards while you are away.

About: I’ve had the pleasure of interacting with a diverse range of dogs, from high-energy to older, sensitive, and stubborn. I’m well-equipped to handle dogs that require structure and consistency, as well as those who are nervous or hesitant to trust. I’m also comfortable providing detailed care instructions, including medication, and am adept at addressing changes in behavior or routine. I pay close attention to any early signs of issues, ensuring that small problems don’t escalate into more significant ones. I’m based in Ellicott City and have a flexible schedule, so I’m reliable for regular walks, drop-ins, or overnight care when you’re in a pinch. If your dog is anxious, reactive, or just takes time to warm up, I move at their pace. I don’t force interaction. I build trust first. If your dog is high energy, I make sure they actually burn it off, not just go through the motions.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Ellicott City
Katherine is incredibly sweet, kind, and dependable. She was able to meet my dog and take her for a walk on very short notice, which I greatly appreciated. She arrived on time, asked thoughtful questions about my dog’s care, and carefully followed all instructions. It’s clear that she genuinely cares about the pets she works with. We are very happy to have her as our regular sitter and highly recommend her!

I booked Katherine at the last minute (the day before) to walk my two dogs and she responded quickly to my request. Because my last minute request didn’t allow for a meet and greet, one of my dogs was skeptical of Katherine so she improvised and took them in the backyard to play. The poop was bagged, doors locked, and dogs were happy when we came home! I’m grateful she was able to accommodate my last minute request and we will definitely be booking walks again with her!

Kaitlin arrived on time, took our dog out in this frosty weather and managed to get Bentley moving despite the snow and ice. She is very friendly, responsible and conscientious- I felt comfortable when I first met her and I’m very happy with the quality of her work.
Cameron responded quickly to each of my messages and was on-time for our booking. Cameron was terrific with our dog! She warmed up to Cameron almost immediately and was very happy when she returned from her walk. And, as a first-time Rover-user, Cameron helped walk me through the app. We’ll definitely be repeat clients and would highly recommend Cameron.
Menkaure was very kind, respectful, and punctual. He has a very calming personality that jives well with my rambunctious dogs. He took my two large Huskies for 4 walks in the past week and he did an amazing job. He followed all instructions and the dogs loved him.

Rachel is absolutely amazing! She came to the rescue yesterday when the walker we had scheduled wasn’t able to walk my dog. I reached out to her very last minute, and she was incredibly kind and responsive — she showed up at my house just 10 minutes later. She spent such quality time with Rio, and it gave me so much peace of mind knowing Rio wasn’t alone and was in such good hands. I’m so grateful for her help and always love working with her. Truly a lifesaver! 🌟🐾

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
