“Amanda was an amazing cat sitter and so attention! She went above and beyond to make sure our two cats got pets, treats, and playtime. We will be booking her again!”

About: At my place, your pup gets personal attention, a calm environment, and a consistent routine. My home is clean, organized, and fully dog-friendly, with a dedicated sunroom perfect for safe lounging and downtime. Special skills: • Great with crate-trained dogs • Comfortable with all energy levels • Experience with shy or sensitive pups • Can administer oral medications Your dog gets reliable care, steady communication, and a home where they can relax and feel comfortable. I keep a steady, predictable routine that makes it easy to give dogs consistent care. I’m active every day, so walks, playtime, and enrichment naturally fit into my schedule. At home, dogs hang out in my bright sunroom or relaxed living spaces while I’m working or doing things around the house. I’m home often throughout the day, with plenty of breaks for attention, potty trips, and movement. Evenings are calm and structured, with feeding, downtime, and plenty of cuddles or quiet rest depending on your dog’s style. Weekends give me extra time for longer walks, exercise, or just hanging out with your pup. Your dog stays on a clear routine and gets regular supervision, attention, and a calm environment throughout the week. I create a calm, structured environment so dogs feel safe and comfortable. I only host 1–2 dogs at a time, which keeps things low stress and allows me to give each pup personal attention. Dogs can relax in my dog friendly sunroom, hang out with me in the main living areas, or rest in their crate if that’s part of their routine. I follow your feeding, walk, and medication instructions closely. Potty breaks, exercise, and check-ins happen regularly throughout the day. I keep my home clean, organized, and free of hazards, and I’m always nearby to supervise, give attention, and make sure your dog feels at home.
“Rubi was so great with Shadow! She took him for walks and had him playing with toys he didn't even like to play with when we were playing 😂. She made sure he was looked after and sent me plenty of updates and pictures!”

“Fallon recently did drop in visits with my cat for 8 days. This was my first time booking with her. Prior to booking with Fallon, she asked great questions & took a lot of notes when we did a meet & greet, which I loved! She took such great care of my fur baby. My cat seemed very happy with her as well. I received several pictures & updates each day. She even vacuumed up the litter that he flung from his box (thank you for doing this)! Fallon is very personable, kind, caring & compassionate. I highly recommend her if you are in need of someone to care for your pet!”
“Tabitha took great care of my needy and noisy older cat with separation anxiety. It’s great to know I can leave her in experienced hands. Would love to book again if she’ll have us!”

About: I’ve been involved in animal rescue for more than 20 years and currently help with independent rescues and adoptions. I’m also a Certified Veterinary Assistant with extensive hands-on experience caring for a wide variety of animals. I’m an experienced reptile and exotic pet owner and understand that these animals often require very different care than traditional pets. I’m comfortable working with reptiles, turtles, birds, fish, and other exotic species, including following detailed feeding schedules, habitat and enclosure routines, temperature and lighting requirements, and species-specific care instructions. I understand how important consistency and attention to detail are when caring for exotic pets. My experience also includes dogs and cats of many breeds, ages, sizes, and temperaments. I’m very comfortable with large and “bully” breeds, including Rottweilers and Pit Bulls, and have personally owned several. I also have experience with bottle babies, senior pets, and animals who require medications or additional attention. I can administer medications, provide nail trims, and assist with a variety of individual care needs. I understand that every animal has its own personality, boundaries, comfort level, and routine. I always take my cue from the individual animal rather than forcing interaction, allowing them to become comfortable with me at their own pace. Because I’m home during the day, I can offer flexible scheduling and may also be available for last-minute or emergency visits. Whether you have a dog, cat, reptile, bird, or a household full of different species, I want you to feel confident that your animals are being cared for by someone experienced, patient, dependable, and attentive. Their safety, comfort, and well-being always come first. I’d be happy to care for your pets and give them the same patience, attention, and consideration I would want for my own. I work from home, so I do have a lot of flexibility with my schedule. Just tell me what time you need, and I'll be there! I can care for animals in your home. Drop in visits and emergency visits are fine. Currently, I am not caring for animals in my home, but I am more than willing to drop by your house a few times a day!
“Jessica was prompt and gave tons of feedback on caring for our Lab. Appreciated the photos from all the visits! Jessica took on our last minute request and executed flawlessly! Absolutely recommend!”

“Sean was everything you could hope for when traveling without your pet. He was very communicative, prompt and professional and left us feeling that Ellie was in great hands.”

“Susan did a great job taking care of our two dogs while we were away. We felt totally confident in her ability to care for our pets. I highly recommend Susan for your pet care needs!”

“Helen is a delight! She came over to meet Gus the day before her engagement. Gus loved her and brought her one of his toys when she arrived. We will be asking her to take care of Avis again in the future.”

“Sophie is simply the best! She is very reliable and caring. We felt confident leaving our three cats in her care, especially our 15-year-old cat with dementia. During our trip, we knew our cats were in great hands. We are already looking forward to our next international vacation, knowing Sophie will take care of our beloved pets.”

“Sam is the only person that we trust to watch our dogs and he does such an excellent job each time. We've been using Sam for years and plan to continue to use him in the future.”

About: I am the go to person for taking care of everyone else's pets. I love all the furry and non furry animals. Except snakes. That's a different ballgame. I currently work a part time job. I also have 4 kids on school. I am flexible primarily during the school hours, evenings and weekends. I have one dog, rat terrier who thinks he runs the show. But the true queens are my two cats, Oreo and Kitty kitty. My now 11 year old named both of them.

About: My family and friends have entrusted me to take care of their pets many times these last few years. The last 3 summers I have been lucky enough to do long-term stays with my friend's 4 dogs and cat to help build my experience with pets. Additionally, my family has 2 Rhodesian Ridgebacks of our own, so I am no stranger to larger dogs! I am a student at UMBC, but I am looking forward to utilizing some of my free time towards walking and house visits for pets! I am taking 4 classes this semester along with still ha ing some commitments at home. I am totally open to talking about availability and what works best for your pets! I will treat your pets as if they were my own and make them as comfortable as possible while you are away. I know it can be a stressful time for them while your gone, so I hope to be a calming presence where they can relax and have fun!
“My poor pup has stress colitis when I work out of town, Mel handled my poopy boy great. Attention to detail and communication was excellent. And she handles my geriatric limited mobile Labrador well. I hope to use her regularly.”
About: I've had pets all my life and I'm starting to care for others in addition to my own. I have experience caring for dogs with special needs, and of all different breeds and sizes. I currently work full time, I work 1 day remote at home and 4 days in the office. I will make plenty of time to be there for your fur baby though. I am very active, I go running, take long walks as well as hiking with my pup. He is very friendly with other dogs and loves to have company. Any special needs, diets or behaviors I will need to know in order keep your fur baby happy and comfortable.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Arbutus
I was overjoyed to find Helen because my reactive dog has done really well her. Helen has a calm demeanor that my dogs enjoy. She understands how to behave around dogs so that they behave. Helen is also very responsive to messages. Her messages are clear and well constructed.

Mel was absolutely amazing! She was perfect for my crazy zoo! She communicated with me daily, so I always knew what my crew was up to! I had no worries while I was away, because I knew my animals were in good hands! I am absolutely going to rebook her in the future!

Kelly was an absolutely wonderful cat sitter for Luna and Oliver. She was very proactive in her communication and provided detailed updates on how the two were doing, which gave us peace of mind during our travels given Luna’s regular health issues. The cats were clearly very comfortable with Kelly and we greatly appreciated the care and attention she gave to them to ensure they were happy and well-taken care of. She even went the extra mile to help us out during an unexpected incident, which was a huge lifesaver for us. We highly recommend Kelly if you are looking for a sitter who truly cares about your pets and wants to give them the best experience when you’re away!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
