“I was so impressed with Tawny. I have never left my dogs with a dog care center before. All three with different personalities and he took care of everyone of their needs. I loved that he took him on a field trip that they really enjoyed. I would highly recommend Toni to take care of your dog. Thank you Tawny for making my dogs feel special.”

“Michelle was great. She was very active in communication and sent lots of pictures. My house was in good order. My animals seem very happy and normal. She stayed for 5 days. I would recommend Michelle.”

“Betty was amazing. She stayed at my home 9 days with my two dogs. One of my dogs is very old and has accidents. Betty was very good with her and made sure she went out regularly, so she didn't have those accidents. She kept in touch sending me updates daily. Which I really appreciated. I will use Betty whenever I go out of town and I highly recommend her.”

“Exceptional, Professional Pet Care! My experience with Mark watching my dog was exceptional. From the start, any reservations I had about having someone new in the house melted away. Mark comes highly recommended for a reason—his professionalism, thoroughness, and genuine care are unmatched. He arrived prepared with a comprehensive intake document covering everything from feeding schedules and vet info to unique personality traits and emergency supplies. Communication was phenomenal; I received 37 pictures and consistent updates every few hours, allowing me to relax while away! Mark goes above and beyond as a guest in your home, bringing his own food, drinks, and blankets, and he even stayed through a power outage during 100-degree heat while promptly notifying me and reporting the issue to the power company. If you want peace of mind knowing your pet and home are in the absolute best hands, look no further!”

“Xochitl was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful and our boys love her. I would whole heartedly recommend her and I will definitely be asking her back as well.”

About: I have always been an animal lover, especially dogs and cats ever since I was little. I have taken care of many pets and have even contributed to rescuing dogs from Puerto Rico. I am currently going to school and working part-time. I have 1 in person class on Mondays and the rest are online and for work I usually work on Saturdays so I have plenty of time to take care of any pets on Tuesdays through Fridays and I can also do Sundays! I always care for a pet as they are my own. I am willing to keep each pets routine as consistent and make sure they aren’t too stressed out. In my home, my four pets have a clean environment, I always give them a lot of attention, play time, frequent exercise, and regular potty breaks. I can follow the owners instructions for feeding schedules, exercise, and any other special requirements that your pet might need. I always make sure that pets have fresh water and food, and also a comfortable place to rest. If I am caring for pets at a clients home, I make sure to always respect their space and maintain the pets daily routine. I will provide walks, playtime, feeding, litter box or yard cleanup, and a lots of loves and cuddles to the pets and make sure they are relaxed and comfortable while the owner is away. I will also send updates and pictures to keep the owners updated and let them know that their pets are happy and cared for!
“Christian is a great sitter and consummate professional. He was very responsive and would provide daily if not twice daily updates on how things were going. Would definitely recommend and use his services and experience again!”

“Jessica was amazing with our german shepherd! She was very professional and updated us through out the day with pictures. I will definitely be using her again and would recommend her to anyone!”

“Alexandra was great! I loved her daily updates with photos and we returned to a happy and healthy dog. Our dog was a little more tired than she typically is with dog sitters, so that was great. She even surprised us with a flower, card, and origami dog when we got home. We will definitely be interested in using her again!”

“Blanca was fantastic! She took great care of both my dog and my parents' dog while we were away for the weekend. She kept the house clean, sent regular updates and photos, and gave us complete peace of mind. I would definitely book her again and highly recommend her!”

“I feel so lucky I found Alexus to dogsit for us while away visiting family. I have two lab mixes that she quickly bonded with, even my timid dog who is very weary of strangers. They were snuggling and playing together within a day or two, I was (happily) shocked! One of our dogs got sick right before we had to leave on our trip, and Alexus took such good care of her and was always willing to go the extra mile for us when our dog needed to go to the vet while we were out of town. She was communicative and sent us daily photos and videos which I loved. She's the best!”

“Nathalia is the best! This is my first experience on Rover and she did not disappoint! She kept my 2 month old puppy entertained which can be tough so i’m so grateful for that! She made sure to update me on how my puppy was doing and did everything I asked perfectly. So nice and would definetly have her house sit again!”

“We cannot say enough wonderful things about Kimberly. We booked the week prior for an overnight so we could take a quick trip to CO for a concert. Kimberly was friendly & communicative the week leading up to the booking and checked in the evening before. She arrived at 6:30 am with such a warm energy and immediately won the pups over. Grimm seemed instantly attached to her! It was very sweet. I was a bit worried since it was our first time using Rover, & the first time leaving the boys with someone other than their grandparents. We felt comfortable with Kimberly right off the bat and we knew our boys were in good hands. I loved that she sent lots of photos & videos while we were away & let us know how well they were doing. She followed all care instructions perfectly. She even left us beautiful flowers she cut from her garden. I would 100% trust Kimberly to care for my furbabies again in the future. I feel blessed to have found and connected with such a good human. Thank you Kimberly! 💛🐾”

“Emily is fantastic. She made sure all of Kodas needs were met while watching her, including taking her for hikes and trips to the dog park! It’s always reassuring knowing Koda is having fun and getting exercise when I have to travel for work. Emily was easy to communicate with and left the house very tidy. I’ll definitely be utilizing Emily’s services again.”

“Annie is incredible! She took such great care of our dog Finn. Showering him with so much love and attention. She was very careful with him given the hot weather and left our home in fantastic condition. We loved all the photo updates and would trust her to housesit again in an instant!”

“Annie did a great job house-cat sitting for us over a long weekend. She had great communication about entry and exit times, the cats' well-being, and anything that came up generally speaking. Alex did such an amazing job with my Lucy. It was her first time being left home alone with someone who wasn’t family . She let Lucy warm up to her at her own pace and helped her feel safe and comfortable . She took her for lots of walks , played with her, and gave her all of the loves . She also captured the most amazing and silly photos of Lucy .

Abby was so great with my anxious pup and zany cat. They seemed so comfortable with her! Abby provided great updates (including photos!) which was great for my peace of mind while away. She also left my place spotless! I’ll definitely be booking with her again!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Alpine Meadows walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Alpine Meadows maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Alpine Meadows choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
