About: with over 15 years of pet care, including a senior cat and a rescue dog with trauma, has taught me how to be patient, have empathy, and how to create a safe, loving space:) Currently, my flexible schedule prioritizes pet care. While completing minimal schoolwork at home, I devote most of my day to ensuring pets are safe, fed, and happy, drawing on years of experience with a senior outdoor cat and a rescued dog needing patient, attentive care. When caring for pets in my home, safety is my top priority. I have a secure backyard where dogs can enjoy fresh air and playtime. However since there are a few small gaps under the fence, i always use a leash-especially with small dogs-to nature they stay safe. The backyard fence however is tall with no gaps. Plus, i live in a great neighborhood (daybreak), which is perfect for walks and outdoor time. Weather im caring for pets in my home or yours, i make sure they feel comfortable, loved, and secure at all times. I tailor my are to each pets needs and always strive too maintain a calm, trustworthy environment.
“I feel so lucky I found Alexus to dogsit for us while away visiting family. I have two lab mixes that she quickly bonded with, even my timid dog who is very weary of strangers. They were snuggling and playing together within a day or two, I was (happily) shocked! One of our dogs got sick right before we had to leave on our trip, and Alexus took such good care of her and was always willing to go the extra mile for us when our dog needed to go to the vet while we were out of town. She was communicative and sent us daily photos and videos which I loved. She's the best!”

“Michelle is the best! If you are hesitating to go on a vacation because you don’t know who could take exceptional care of your pet- Michelle is your answer. She pays attention to every detail, sends informative updates of the daily activities with photos and will give your pet lots of snuggles. Our home was spotless too. My only regret was that I only had her booked for a three day trip! I am looking forward to booking her again soon! Thank you Michelle!🤗”

“Mark is the best! I really could not imagine a better person to take care of my dog and house sit. He is very consistent with updates on how my dog is doing as well as being very capable of taking care of a house.”

“Stephanie house sat our dog and cat for a week whilst we went home to Australia. Although we were in a different time zone, her communication was great and she made sure to check in. She was kind, reliable and very trustworthy. We returned home to two very happy pets and a very clean house! Couldn’t recommend her more highly!!!”

“She did an absolutely fantastic job and we’ll definitely be rebooking. She was great with communication both before and during her stay and she took really stunning photos. I think we’ll have to get a few framed!”

About: I’ve met and helped hundreds of dogs and I’ve loved each one. I started as a local dog bather and walker within my neighborhood ten years ago and since then, I’ve volunteered, I’ve worked out multiple dog daycares and done independent training work. I understand than when I take care of your furry companion, their safety is the first priority with their comfortability being a close second. I’m comfortable with dogs big and small and of all attitudes. I hold endless patience and compassion for all cats and dogs out there and I will ensure a positive experience for your pet. Im running side hustles so I have plenty of time for your pup. I’m available 9:00a.m.-8:00p.m. Every day of the week. Sometimes my schedule will adjust but I will never agree to a schedule I can’t meet. I am certified in dog cardiovascular pulmonary recession (cpr) and I’m confident in my ability of recognizing and taking action on any physical safety. I am also fully educated and equipped to stop dog fights and aggression. I will also personally ask if there are safety concerns you have before you leave your pup.
“Kirk was wonderful with our two poodles. He sent lots of pictures and took them on plenty of hikes giving these two active dogs the exercise they need. The house was spotless upon our return. Highly recommend!”

“Meisha was amazing!! She kept me in the loop with multiple updates throughout the day and pics on walks and snuggling with my Berner. It was my first time using rover, so I of course was a little nervous, but from the minute I met Meisha my nervousness was put to rest. I would 100% recommend Meisha to watch your furry friend(s) and will without a doubt use her again. Thanks again Meisha!!”

“Thank you Dr Ally! Our 17 week old puppies were in great hands! She sent lots of photos and videos and staying in close communication while we were out of town for 4 days. She even let us know when they chewed on a cabinet and we overnighted a repair kit and she applied it so they wouldn't chew it further. They were happy and content when we got home. Thanks so much! Tucker and Emmy send you lots of kisses!”

“Diana is the best dog sitter! She is responsible, reliable and stays in touch. Our vacation was less stressful knowing that our Benji was being taken care of. I would highly recommend her! Teresa Eubank”

“Karen house sat for us, and it was very smooth! She sent frequent pictures and updates. When we got back home you wouldn’t be able to tell anyone was even there. Very grateful she was so caring with our anxious dog.”

“I just had experience with Katie who stayed at the house and watched the pups! She is great and absolutely no complaints and the pups enjoyed her as well. Definitely recommend!!”

“Zoe was amazing! Our German Shepherd is typically an anxious dog around new people but Zoe made him feel comfortable almost immediately. We felt very secure knowing that he was being well taken care of. Plus we got lots of pics and updates throughout our time away. We will definitely be having Zoe over again to watch Obi!”

Alexandra was such an attentive, caring, and reliable dog sitter. She treated our dogs so well, especially with our complicated meals/medications. One of our dogs is a handful and she treated him with so much kindness and patience. I think our dogs have been looking for her ever since she left! She sent us many pictures throughout the day and always updated us whenever we wanted. She seems to genuinely love dogs, and treated ours so kindly. She is very responsible and took care of our house well and left it really clean. She even took care of one of my piano students who showed up to the house while we were on vacation, and made sure my student was safe too. She is amazing and we feel lucky that we found her!

Annie is a wonderful pet sitter! We had her stay with our three senior pets while we were away, and she was amazing. We had a surprise vet visit come upbefore our trip, and she was more than willing to take on some extra care for one of our dogs. She was so kind to water plants and look after the hummingbird feeders (peak hummingbird season during record setting temps- this was a very generous task and I’m so grateful, as are the birds!) My pets were all happy and relaxed when we arrived back home, I think they really enjoyed hanging out with Annie. We would absolutely rebook!

Karah is amazing! I felt at ease as soon as she walked in the door and started interacting with my dog. She followed all instructions, which is especially important as my dog has special needs and Karah kept her safe and entertained for a whole day of housesitting and dogsitting. I was able to be at ease while I was away because I knew my dog was being taken care of well, and Karah sent great updates and is overall an excellent communicator. I definitely plan to work with her again!

Max was everything we could have asked for! Our first time leaving our very large dog, who can be skeptical of strangers… with a stranger! Max made Cooper feel comfortable right away, and sent lots of photos! We especially loved how conscious he was of getting exercise for the big guy in the morning while it was still a bit cooler outside. We’d absolutely work with him again!

Love Nikki!!!!! Nikki took such great care of our boys Chase (German Shepherd) and Simba (cat). She kept in great contact and updated us on how everyone was doing. Honestly, I think the boys would prefer her to come back and us leave. 😂 Both boys felt at ease with Nikki, and I felt so comfortable leaving my house and babies in her care. Without a doubt Nikki is my go-to sitter.

Casie was amazing! She watched both of my cats for 4 nights and took such great care of them. She kept me updated often and sent lots of photos, which made me feel so much better while I was away. My kitties seemed to really enjoy her, and it was clear they were comfortable and well cared for. I would definitely book with Casie again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and thoughtful sitter.

Book her! You will not be disappointed. Sophia was hands down the best sitter we have ever had. She went above and beyond our expectations, it was like if we were taking care of our fur babies ourselves. We were in a bind last minute and it was thanksgiving time. I contacted Sophia and immediately got a response. From the very beginning she was fantastic with communication. We did a meet and greet and probably spent too much time talking about our fur babies but not once did she make us feel like we were inconveniencing her. She was so attentive and down to earth from the moment we met her. Our biggest tell was how comfortable one of our dogs was with her even from the start. Our one dog is normally so scared and shy and we were a bit worried it would take a long time for her to warm up but it didn’t at all. Our dogs absolutely loved her and we truly felt so comfortable having her in our home and with our two dogs. I truly cannot say enough good things about Sophia. She is an animal lover hands down and will treat your fur baby with the up most respect and care! We cannot wait to have her watch our two babies again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Oquirrh walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Oquirrh maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Oquirrh choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
