“Rachael was amazing! She dropped by every day while I was on vacation to feed and play with my dogs, Pickles and Tater Tot. She kept me updated with messages and photos, and I could tell my pups were happy and well cared for. It gave me total peace of mind knowing they were in such good hands. Highly recommend Rachael—she’s reliable, kind, and clearly loves animals!”

About: With over 20 years of experience caring for dogs and cats, I bring a lifetime of knowledge to every pet I meet. I grew up on a farm surrounded by animals, and I’ve spent the last 10 years raising my own energetic Australian Shepherd, Arrow, who loves long walks and staying active. I understand the unique needs of each pet and treat them like family—because they are! I am taking a break from traditional corporate work so my schedule is fairly flexible outside of occasional travel. I am interested in caring for pets that live in the West Seattle area. Safety is my top priority, so I’m happy to follow your instructions and my common sense to keep your pet happy and healthy. I have basic first aid knowledge and I’m working towards my pet CPR certificate.

“Kelly is amazing!! This was my first time ever getting a rover to come to my place so naturally I was nervous - but she was super professional and communicative. She shared little snippets of how the cats were and sent tons of pics, and responded super fast! I will 100% use her again, thank you Kelly!!”

“Great communicator and very reliable. I appreciated the meet and greet before the booking and getting to know Katie. Would not hesitate to book again!”

“Grace has great communication, sends detailed updates and adorable puppy pictures from the visit! She is trustworthy and our dog adores he. We are so happy to have found Grace!”

“Thanks for taking great care of Rudy and Edie! They were calm and happy when we returned. Peace of mind in knowing we have someone kind who likes cats caring for them is priceless.”

“This was the second time Hilari has cat-sat my kitty and she was just as great. I asked her to help again because my cat was already familiar with her and because, very importantly, she'd successfully been able to administer my cat's asthma inhaler! It was a relief to travel knowing my cat was being looked after well and allowed me to enjoy my quick weekend trip.”

“Sydni is great with my Riley girl!! Riley is always happy to see Sydni and I get plenty of great updates about how she’s doing and if there are any concerns. Sydni is very communicative and thoughtful during all of her visits.”

About: I've taken care of dogs all sizes and ages. I have experience giving medication, that includes doggies who are reluctant to take it :) I have facilitated general comfort care for dogs in the past that suffered from seizures. I'm no stranger to long walks, giving baths and even assisted with training a friend's puppy. Dogs and cats bring a lot of joy to my life and I would love to help make your life easier, and you can know your furry friends will be in great hands! I work full-time from late afternoon to night, so I have a good chunk of the morning/early afternoon to get walkies in with your dog and give out tons of scritches and treats! I'm also available any time during my days off! For now, I won't be caring for your pet in my home as my dog has trusting issues. However I am available for dog walks and drop-in visits at your home!

“Anthea did a drop in visit while we took a long day trip. She walked the dog, fed both the dog and cat, and hung out with them for a bit. We appreciated the pictures and the details of the visit. You can tell Anthea really cares about animals and enjoys their company. I definitely recommend her!”

“I had someone to watch my cat, but canceled last minute, so I had to find someone to watch him quickly! I found Lauren and she was super responsive and was able to watch my baby for me. I got daily pics and updates on how things were going! I felt super comfortable having Lauren watch my cat for me while I was away. Thank you again!”

“Madison promptly responded to my initial request for care and scheduled a meet and greet. While we were away she sent photos every day (over 40 from the days we were gone) and provided a little report on our fur baby's well being. I trusted Madison in our home and when she came by to drop off a key, our kitty came back out to say hi to her! We will definitely use Madison again and recommend her.”

About: I have experience with 18 years of taking care of dogs, cats, fish, and bunnies, of all different sizes. I have a special spot for special needs cats and dogs, and have the patience and the love to give them. I've been had animals of all kinds my whole life. I have been a cat shelter volunteer and foster mom on and off for some time now as well. I have unconditional love for all animals, and don't mind helping with training and/or medical needs. I have a chihuahuas mix and a boy cat at home, both very friendly, but have had dobermans, retrievers, labs, pit bulls, dachshunds, and all sorts of different kitties! Please let me know if you have any questions about anything! I work from home / remotely, so am available with a pretty flexible schedule, for mid-day walks or for pets who may need special attention. I am prioritizing West Seattle clients. Would love to forge a lifelong relationship with your pet, to be there whenever you may need an extra hand, or lap! I just made this account in August, and I’m more than happy to send some references from people that I have dogs sat for in the past! Be my first reviews! i live in an apartment right off of alki! daily walks along the beach and to the park are so important for me and my Bean, and I would be happy to have some 4 legged company! Additionally, I have a dog-stroller and sling I would love to use to get those less mobile friends some fresh air.

About: For ten years I worked as an animal behavior specialist and dog trainer for a large humane society in New England. After that, I ran a successful pet training and pet sitting business. Although I have since made a career change, I still love spending quality time with animals and helping care for them when I can. Since I work from home any dog staying with me gets lots of attention. Pets in my care get the thoughtful attention of an experienced positive trainer who will provide a combo of activity and affection. I used to have multiple dogs and miss having pups around. I work from home from about 7 am - 3 pm everyday. Dogs get a walk before I start work, potty breaks throughout the day and another long walk after work. I do go out sometimes in the evenings, but your pet wouldn’t be alone for more than 4 - 5 hours. Since I do not have a fenced in yard, dogs get long leash walks. I prefer to crate dogs when I’m not home, but that can negotiable.

About: I have had a dog in my life since I was born. When I turned 5 my parents started me and my dog at the time in obedience classes. I have a lot of experience teaching dogs new tricks and obedience skills. Along with a huge love for animals. My dog passed in March of 2024 at the age of 15 so I have experience with dogs in all stages of their lives. Before boarding please make sure your pup is on flea medicine, I recommend Advantix II, I do live by the beach and Schmidt Creek Park where I walk them regularly so there's a possibility for fleas. This is my full time profession. I live on Alki Beach so there are all sorts of nice places for me to walk your dog(s) or even let them take a swim. I have a fenced in yard, there's Alki Beach 300' from my building, and two nice parks nearby for me to walk them. Your furry friend will get lots of attention, cuddles, naps, and playing, zoomies are also encouraged here.

About: Hi, I’m Leigh—dog mom to two energetic Australian shepherds and a lifelong animal lover. As a wildlife biologist, I’ve done hands-on work with many species, which has given me a deep understanding of animal behavior and how to build trust with a wide range of personalities. I also grew up riding horses, which helped develop my comfort and intuition around animals from a young age. I’ve raised both of my current dogs from puppyhood and have lots of experience with crate training, leash manners, housebreaking, and supporting puppies through their early developmental stages. In addition to my own dogs, I cared for my family’s four dogs growing up—including senior dogs with mobility and medical needs, and young puppies requiring structure and routine. Having high-energy dogs of my own, I’m very aware of the exercise, mental stimulation, and affection needed to keep pups happy and balanced. I also have experience working with nervous and reactive dogs, and I always take a calm, patient approach to help them feel safe. Since I own two pups myself, I’m confident walking and caring for two dogs at once, and I’m happy to tailor my care to whatever best supports your dog’s routine and personality. Whether we’re training, playing, or just snuggling up, I’ll care for your fur baby with the same love and attention I give my own. I’m a PhD student with a flexible, hybrid schedule—working from home most days and occasionally going into the office. Because of that, I’m often available during the day and on weekends, and can accommodate early mornings, evenings, and longer stays depending on your needs. I currently offer services in your home only and am happy to follow any specific instructions for your dog’s care and routine. I take cleanliness and respect for your space seriously and will make sure your pet feels calm and secure while you’re away. I do have two friendly, well-socialized dogs. If you’d like your pup to have company during walks or drop-ins, I’m happy to bring them along—with your permission, of course. Otherwise, they’ll stay at home so your dog gets my full attention.

Melinda C.
“Melinda is an absolute lifesaver. When a former sitter abandoned my little chihuahuas mid-contract, she stepped in without hesitation and saved the day while I was abroad. She treats my dogs as if they were her own babies—loving, gentle, and completely attuned to their needs. Cuddles and couch time are made a priority. Melinda is chill, dependable, and trustworthy; I would confidently hand her my house keys, my car, and even my wallet. She’s perfect for small dogs and worth every penny she earns. Reliable, kind, and a true professional. Treat her well.”

Alki pet parents share their Rover experiences
This was my first time hiring Aamina and she was able to coax my shy kitty out of hiding for some pets! It typically has taken a few repeat visits for him to come out and meet new rover sitters so I was super stoked to hear that he came out on the second visit. In addition to being a kitty whisperer Aamina had great communication and was lovely to talk to. Would hire again!

Rose watched my two cats while I was out of town for a week and was the consummate communicator! I loved getting her updates every day and my kitties were so relaxed and happy when I got home. The couple of silly pics per day slipped in among the pics of them eating etc were hilarious. Would definitely rebook with Rose!

Yeji is the best! We were so relieved to hear she could be with our Moonstone again on short notice. It’s been 8 months but the only reminder she needed was the alarm code 😁. Everything else was perfect just like last time. If she’s available, don’t hesitate to book with confidence.

Amanda was a great find to take care of my cats. We met beforehand and showed her everything she needed to know as well as met my cats. She came by twice and always gave me a heads up in advance and took care of their litter and refreshed their water and spent time with them giving them extra snacks as well - sending me photos of my boys so I could see they were are and happy with her. I recommend Amanda for any of your pet needs and will continue to use her in the future. Thank you Amanda!
