“On Rachel's 2nd visit with my cat Biscuit he actually hung out with her. He even let Rachel pet him. This is amazing as Biscuit never hangs out with people that come to my house. He always hides. I couldn't be more pleased and relieved. Rachel has a gift, a calm presence. I believe this is why Biscuit felt so comfortable. Thank you Rachel for taking such good care of Biscuit.”

“Kevin is super thoughtful and a wonderful caregiver for our cats! He took the time to meet and connect with them (and us), and you could really tell that he’s attentive to the details. He’s flexible and communicative. We trusted him with our pets and home, and would do so again without any reservations.”

“Sara took great care of my senior dog! At the meet and greet, they showed that they are knowledgeable about the needs of senior dachshunds and made me feel good about trusting them with my baby. They went above and beyond and were very flexible with my changing schedule. I will definitely be a repeat client.”

About: Dedicated dog lover - whether your furry companion is a playful youngster or a distinguished senior, they'll receive my full care and attention during their stay. Currently, we have no dogs, so your pup will receive plenty of one-on-one time. Our home provides a warm, comfortable environment where your dog can relax and feel safe while you're away. All guests must be potty trained. I look forward to meeting your canine companion and making their stay a tail-wagging experience they'll love! I work part-time from home, and will be available for dog walks, belly rubs and backyard excursions throughout the day. My flexible schedule ensures your pup will get plenty of exercise, affection, and outdoor time while in my care. I have a fenced yard, love taking walks with dogs - whether that's one longer walk or multiple shorter walks, whatever it is they need.
“DaAnna was great with my 2 cats! She was super flexible and responsive with a last minute booking request, and took excellent care of my girls. Great photos and updates as well. Highly recommend.”

“Allie is so thoughtful and her love for animals shows. One of my boys is diabetic and requires some extra medical attention, Allie stepped up and did a great job! Her communication is excellent, which helped to ease my worries. She spent a little extra time with the boys to make sure their needs were met, which I deeply appreciated. Allie, thank you so much!”

“We’ve had lots of different Rovers over the years and Casey is definitely THE BEST Rover we have ever had. He spent so much time getting to know our cat, Gracie, and making her feel comfortable with a new caregiver. I cannot recommend him more. 12/10.”

About: For the past eight years, I have reliably walked and fed my neighbor's dog, Daisy. I love keeping pets safe, happy, well-fed, and active during my visits! I am available all day on weekends for pet care! On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, I am free after 3:00 p.m. to drop in, feed, and walk your pets. I prioritize safety by closely following your specific feeding and walking instructions. I will treat your home with total respect and keep your pets happy and secure!

“Christina was awesome! She was able to come by fairly last minute and let my pups out on the evening of Thanksgiving. She wasn’t phased by my anxious/barking pup and arrived on time. Will definitely be using her again!”

About: For ten years I worked as an animal behavior specialist and dog trainer for a large humane society in New England. After that, I ran a successful pet training and pet sitting business. Although I have since made a career change, I still love spending quality time with animals and helping care for them when I can. Since I work from home any dog staying with me gets lots of attention. Pets in my care get the thoughtful attention of an experienced positive trainer who will provide a combo of activity and affection. I used to have multiple dogs and miss having pups around. I work from home from about 7 am - 3 pm everyday. Dogs get a walk before I start work, potty breaks throughout the day and another long walk after work. I do go out sometimes in the evenings, but your pet wouldn’t be alone for more than 4 - 5 hours. Since I do not have a fenced in yard, dogs get long leash walks. I prefer to crate dogs when I’m not home, but that can negotiable.
About: I offer a highly attentive, adaptive, and active environment for your dog, backed by over nine years of dedicated, hands-on experience. Raising my own dog, Toby, gave me a deep understanding of complex canine needs. He was reactive, which taught me how to read body language, advocate for a dog's space, and safely manage environments so he could still enjoy a life full of hiking and cross-country adventures. As he aged, I gained extensive experience in senior care, navigating his slowed pace and confidently managing canine epilepsy, including precise medication administration. In addition to caring for my own dog, I have a long history of pet sitting for family and friends. Whether your dog is an active adventurer who wants to hit the trails or a senior who prefers a quiet day on the couch, I tailor my care to their specific pace and personality. What Sets Me Apart: - Proximity to Alki Beach & Trails: We love taking dogs on outings to nearby Alki Beach or local hikes, making us a great fit for high-energy dogs who thrive outdoors. - Deep Respect for Boundaries: Because of my experience with a reactive dog, I never force interactions. If your dog is anxious, selective, or uncomfortable in crowded spaces, I strictly respect their boundaries and keep them in environments where they feel safe. Full-Time, Double-Coverage Remote Care: Both my husband and I work from home full-time. Your dog will never be left alone for long stretches, and our schedule allows for flexible potty breaks, frequent walks, and constant companionship. We are a true dog-loving family with a safe, secure home environment designed to give you complete peace of mind while you are away. We no longer have a dog at home so your best friend will be the sole animal in the home. We live in a townhome with a small, unfenced patio area.

About: I have been a dog parent for 3 years now and am trying to spend more time taking care of dogs and cats in my spare time. I'm currently working part time and since I work from home, I have plenty of flexibility with my schedule to walk dogs, do home visits and board your beloved pet. I live in an apartment complex that is right next to Hiawatha Playfield and if your dog loves walking in the parks, this is an amazing park that my dog Oliver loves visiting every day.
“Rachel was wonderful, very thoughtful and reliable for cat-sitting drop ins. I would definitely use her again! Prompt replies, showed up when she said she would, all in all, very professional.”

About: From cats to dogs and anything in between— I would love to take care of your pet! I’ve been around animals my entire life. Currently, I’m an animal foster parent and I’m looking to watch some extra furry friends when I don’t have a foster in my care! I look forward to meeting and caring for your furry friends! I’m currently working a full time job on a hybrid schedule. I work from home Tuesdays and Fridays which allows me ample time for flexible pet care. My weekends are typically free and I’m happy to sit and care for plenty of furry friends I’m an outdoorsy individual and I typically walk 2-3 miles a day on my own. I’m willing and able to let dogs sniff to their hearts content! For feline friends, I’m adept at reading body language and cues. I will meet them where they’re at whether that means playtime, snuggle time, or quiet time.
“Saghar is so great with my dog, responds immediately to any questions or messages, and goes above and beyond when watching him. My dog adores her and I know he’s in good hands with her!”

About: I’ve taken care of puppies to junior dogs and nothing brings me more joy than taking them on fun, stimulating walks! From energetic pups learning leash manners to curious ‘teenage’ dogs who need adventure. While keeping them safe and happy 😃 I’m currently on break for couple months and have plenty of time every day to go on adventure walks or have playtime with new furry friends ! I treat every pet like my own, because they deserve safety, fun, and love / while you’re busy.

About: Hi, I'm Stella! My legal name (which Rover requires me to display) is Leigh, but in day-to-day interactions I prefer to go by Stella. :) Although I've been a cat person all my life, I've also always loved dogs. Recently my family members have been adopting dogs into their various collections of pets, including a Manchester terrier who has decided I'm his second favorite person (besides my mom, and I can't blame him there!). I've absolutely loved the opportunity to care for him when my parents travel a few times a year, and will absolutely bring that same level of enthusiasm to caring for your pup! I'm primarily self employed, as well as doing gig work, so I have a lot of flexibility to give your pet the care they need on a schedule that works for you! I'm most often available on weekdays, as the gigs I do usually fall on weekends. I'm very interested in learning your pet's personality, and taking the time needed to get them comfortable with me. I'm particularly good at "cat language", but am dedicated to learning "dog language" as well. I'd also love to hear from you about your pet's likes, dislikes, preferences, and anything else I should know to give them the best experience possible!

“Lauren was the best sitter I have ever had here on Rover. She was always quick to respond with any questions or concerns. She also took the time to really learn about the automatic feeders that use for our cats. She really made it easy for me to relax on vacation instead of worrying. My husband and I came home to a clean home and happy kitties.”

The median cost per visit for pet sitting in Alki is $25
Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Alki
This was our first time using Rover, and we couldn’t be happier with DeAnna and the care she gave our cat, Spider. She didn’t just check off items on a care list. She took the time to get to know his personality. The proof was in her thoughtful updates and the many photos of him being the goofy little void that he is. She truly has a way with animals. We came home to a happy, relaxed kitty, which is the best recommendation we could give. We’ll definitely be reaching out to DeAnna again.

Huishan is wonderful!!! She is really thoughtful and clearly cares about our kitties! Our boy is usually a shy bean, but he opened up immediately at the meet & greet! She sent detailed updates every day, along with great pictures and videos 🥰 She is definitely a pro pet photographer! Every day we looked forward to her updates and photos, and we always smiled when looking at them. When we're away from home, knowing that she's with the kitties makes us feel relieved. She also took good care of our garden 🌿

Fiona was an absolute delight. She was punctual for our first meet and greet, asked great questions and clearly has a deep love for animals. Even though I was off the grid and out of service for my backpacking trip, Fiona still offered to take and send photos of my kitty. It was such a treat to get to scroll through all of the cute photos when I got service again! I came back home to a happy cat! Will certainly book again.

This was my first time using Zenia’s services for my geriatric kitty. She followed all my nervous instructions well and was reliable and very feline-knowledgeable.This was just a long weekend but I would feel relaxed and confident leaving town again with Zenia caring for my cat

Lucas is the best dog sitter I’ve ever had! I have two dogs, one of whom is an absolute handful, so I’ve always worried about how they would behave with someone new. From the very beginning, Lucas put all of those concerns to rest. Before pet sitting, he took the time to meet my dogs and spent over 30 minutes with us to make sure everyone was comfortable. His knowledge of dog behavior was obvious, and it was clear that he genuinely cares about the pets he looks after. While I was away, I had complete peace of mind knowing my dogs were in such capable and caring hands. Lucas treated them like they were his own, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and compassionate pet sitter!
