Pet care is my full time job! Rover fits perfectly into my schedule. Currently I do maintain two shifts a week at a Capital Hill Bar: Wednesday & Friday from 9pm-3am. If seeking house sitting or boarding, be advised of this, as well that I maintain a regular walk schedule with a handful of clients M-F and as such will be out of the house for one to four hours at a time. Boarding clients are kept separate while not supervised. House Sit clients are secured by owners instructions.

Safety, trust & environment

When providing care in my home, I prioritize safety, structure, and a calm environment for every dog. Because of this, I cannot accept every request and require a meet & greet before confirming any boarding or daycare services. This allows us to make sure your dog is a good fit for my home and for my own dog as well. I do have the ability to keep dogs separated if needed, though the ideal situation is that everyone is able to coexist comfortably. If your dog will be staying in my home, please bring the following items so they have familiar comforts during their stay: • Crate and bed (crates are used while dogs are unsupervised and provide a safe, familiar space) • Harness or collar • Daily food portions • Preferred treats (if applicable) • One to three favorite toys • Any required medications with instructions For house-sitting in your home, I ask that owners provide a short written guide outlining your dog’s routine and any important information such as feeding instructions, medication schedules, security codes, and where essential supplies are located. When house-sitting, you can expect: • One to Three walks a day, depending on needs • Enrichment and engagement at home • Respectful care of your home and pets • Daily photo updates and a brief summary of how your pet is doing Please note that while your pet will receive attentive and reliable care, I do maintain a schedule outside of pet care as well. Constant 24/7 supervision (“constant care”) is not included in standard bookings unless arranged in advance. Pets requiring a higher level of supervision may require adjusted rates. Thank you for your understanding, and I look forward to meeting you and your pup.

Information Lucas D. would like to know about your pet

If there are, and what they are, special needs. If your dog exhibits any type of aggression towards people or other dogs, or has any other “triggers” I should be aware of (cats, scooters, garbage trucks, loud noises, other dogs, etc). Specific collars or leashes to be used. Specific commands your dog responds to. Any food allergies your dog has. IMPORTANT: I need to be made aware if your dog is aggressive towards visitors while you are away, for everyone's safety. We CAN work around this, but it is crucial to take necessary precautions starting with transparency. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

A typical day

Its incredibly important to me your pet feels loved when you can’t be there. If your dog likes long walks, playing fetch & tug-o-war, or just vibing on the couch together, I will make sure they aren't missing out on whatever it is they love to do!

Confident Handler of Powerful Dogs

Pet care experience

Hi! I’m Lucas, and I’m here to help make life a little easier for you and your pets. I’ve worked with a wide variety of animals over the years, so if you have an unusual companion or a small “animal farm” at home, don’t hesitate to reach out. While I care for animals of all shapes, sizes, and temperaments, my main focus is working with large and powerful dog breeds. I have extensive experience with bully breeds (Pit Bulls, Bulldogs, American Bullies, Staffordshire Terriers) as well as other large dogs like Mastiffs, Great Danes, Boxers, German Shepherds, Great Pyrenees, and other guardian breeds. My goal is to earn your dog’s trust while giving you peace of mind that your pup is in confident and capable hands while you’re away. Many large or strong dogs simply need a calm, consistent handler who understands how to manage their energy and keep walks structured and safe. Small dog owners don’t fret, I still have plenty of love for the little guys too. In fact, I enjoy the contrast of working with both small and large dogs throughout the day. While big dogs are a specialty of mine, I’m always happy to care for dogs of all sizes. If you think I might be a good fit for your pup, feel free to reach out! You can also send a request if you just have questions—I’m always happy to chat and see how I can help.

Lucas is the best dog sitter I’ve ever had! I have two dogs, one of whom is an absolute handful, so I’ve always worried about how they would behave with someone new. From the very beginning, Lucas put all of those concerns to rest. Before pet sitting, he took the time to meet my dogs and spent over 30 minutes with us to make sure everyone was comfortable. His knowledge of dog behavior was obvious, and it was clear that he genuinely cares about the pets he looks after. While I was away, I had complete peace of mind knowing my dogs were in such capable and caring hands. Lucas treated them like they were his own, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and compassionate pet sitter!

Lucas was a fantastic first-time experience using Rover! Not only did he care for and comfort our barky and nervous dogs on the 4th of July, but he was super communicative, followed all the care instructions exactly, and took great care of our house, too! Normally, we come home from vacation, and the pups seem traumatized, but this time, they were happy to see us, but seemed ok! I will definitely book with him again! Also, he was just a genuinely nice person to meet! Thank you, Lucas!

Lucas went above and beyond and took great care of my pups and he gave my chickens some loving too, which I didn't even ask for. Great pictures from their walk. 10/10 would book Lucas again!

Lucas did so great with my dog! He checked in with me regularly, had great communication and I felt really good about leaving my dog with him. He is a puppy and needs solid guidance which Lucas totally provided. Will definitely book again
