I have a very dog-friendly home and love all animals. I had dogs my entire life (and I had a cat for 18 years, too!) I lost my last dog to cancer in 2014. Before starting Rover, I did a lot of rescue & fostering. I have a large fenced back yard. I work from home M-F so am almost always home. I love to go for walks, so the dog(s) will get plenty of exercise if they are up to it. Any dog who stays with us will get a TON of love and attention from me and my family (my youngest son is 18.) My kids have grown up with dogs and they love all animals. I have experience with young dogs / puppies, old dogs, special needs (blind and/or deaf; oral meds) dogs, and everything in between! I am willing to give injected meds if needed, you'll just need to show me how to do it. I can take multiple dogs from the same family; I generally prefer to not have more than one dog at a time unless they already know each other, or unless they both get along really well with all other dogs. I also will do dog and/or cat (or small animal) drop-in visits at your home if you live close by. I really love being able to visit cats since I can't have a cat at my house due to all the dogs! I also have gates to block the front doors and am very safety conscious. I have a kitchen garbage that dogs cannot access, and I keep food out of reach on the counters. In your house, I leave everything as I found it and touch as little as possible.
