“Tamikia did a fantastic job taking care of our cat while we were away. She came at the scheduled time and did all that was asked of her and more. She made us feel very comfortable leaving our cat in her care. We enjoyed receiving the daily updates and photos while we were away. We would definitely hire her again!”

“Melissa was great! We needed someone to let our golden retriever out during the day while at work. Melissa showed up exactly when we scheduled her to, and sent lots pictures and videos which showed how happy our dog was to see her. She communicated very well during the visit and made sure she took care of everything we needed. We're definitely already looking to book her again for the next time we need dog care!”

About: Of course I love animals, but what matters more to me is noticing who your pet actually is. Are they the kind of dog who needs to sniff the same corner for five minutes before moving on? Are they a little shy at first and pretending not to care? Do they get excited easily and need someone calm around them? Are they a cat who wants company, but absolutely not too much company? I really enjoy figuring out those little things. I’m gentle, patient, and very respectful of each pet’s routine. I don’t believe in rushing them or treating every animal the same. Some pets need play and attention, some need slow walks and quiet reassurance, and some just need someone kind nearby so the house does not feel empty. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in a way that still feels familiar to them. I’m also very careful with instructions. Feeding routines, medications, walk preferences, favorite toys, things that scare them, how they like to be greeted, whether they are allowed on the couch. I want to know all of it. I know these details are not “extra.” They are usually the things that make a pet feel secure. I’ll also send updates and photos, not just to say everything is fine, but so you can actually feel connected to them while you are away. My childhood friend and roommate, Matin, may also help me sometimes, and you may see her in some of my photos. She has had pets since childhood and fostered animals for several years, so she is very used to different personalities, nervous pets, affectionate pets, and animals who need a little extra patience. She is calm, loving, and very responsible, and I trust her completely with animals. Between the two of us, your pet will be cared for by people who genuinely like being around animals, but who also understand that trust matters. I’ll treat your pet with warmth, patience, and care, and I’ll treat your home and instructions with respect. This year, much of my work is remote, which gives me real flexibility in my schedule. That means I’m able to spend unrushed, attentive time with pets, not just quick check-ins, but actual companionship, care, and presence. I can shape my day around walks, visits, feeding times, play, and quiet company, depending on what each pet needs. My childhood friend and roommate, Matin, who is included in the pictures, also helps me out with my Rover schedules. My home is my cat Lilo’s safe little kingdom, so I can’t host other pets here. But I’m very happy to come to your home, meet outside for walks, or figure out a setup that feels easy and comfortable for you and your pet.

About: I’ve always grown up around animals. Dogs, cats, birds and even a turtle! I have doggy sat plenty of times in the past and I own three cats of my own. I would love to own a dog one day, which is one of the reasons I am excited to doggy sit! I currently work as a medical assistant Monday–Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., but pet care is something I truly enjoy outside of work. I love spending my free time walking dogs, checking in on pets, and helping owners feel at ease when they can’t be home. I’m available most evenings during the week for walks, drop-in visits, or overnight house sitting, depending on your pet’s needs. I’m also very flexible on weekends and can often adjust my schedule to fit your preferred times. If needed, I can also be available Friday afternoons for early weekend bookings. My goal is to provide dependable care and keep your pets happy, comfortable, and well-loved — even when your work or travel schedule gets busy. When caring for pets in their own home, I focus on keeping them safe, comfortable, and relaxed in their familiar space. I follow their normal routines, provide plenty of love and attention, and make sure all care instructions are followed exactly. I treat every home with respect — checking that doors are locked, water bowls are full, and everything is tidy before I leave. Safety and trust are always my top priorities, and I’m happy to share updates and photos so you can feel at ease knowing your pets are well cared for.

My approach centers on maintaining a safe, stimulating, and consistent routine, whether that involves strict adherence to dietary schedules or managing high-energy play. I hold certifications in Experience with senior pets and Experience with special needs pets. I remain calm during emergencies, prioritizing quick, responsible decision-making while keeping you fully informed. I am punctual, kind, and empathetic, and I truly enjoy helping shy dogs come out of their shells. With my own reliable transportation, I am ready to provide your dog with the dedicated care they deserve. I look forward to treating your beloved companion with the same love and attention I give my own. I have a flexible schedule and am available for dog walks throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, and evenings. I understand that every dog has different needs, and I’m happy to work with your schedule to provide reliable, consistent walks and plenty of exercise, attention, and care. Animals have always been a part of my family, and I care for every pet as if they were my own. My childhood dog lived to be 15 years old, and I was there to help care for him throughout his life, especially in his senior years when he needed extra support. He was truly my best friend and taught me the importance of patience, compassion, and attentive care. Today, I care for my own dog and cat every day by feeding them, giving them attention, and making sure they are happy and healthy. I walk my dog before and after work and throughout the day as needed, and I enjoy spending quality time playing with both my dog and cat. I have a genuine love for animals, but dog walking is something I especially enjoy. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my top priorities, and I will treat them with the same care and attention I give my own pets.
“Jada is excellent. Quick and painless with watching my beloved babies. Toward the end of the visit my VERY standoffish girl that usually stays away from people offered some cuddles which was pretty much a stamp of approval. Attentive, quick, and made sure to come on time to feed my babies. Will be booking again.”

“Ana was absolutely incredible. I’m so grateful for her. She took care of our elderly, diabetic cat Hannah (who also has CKD) while my partner and I were away. Ana expertly administered the plethora of medications (oral and injectable) and checked Hannah’s blood glucose via glucometer. She was also extremely patient when feeding her and cleaned up after Hannah had a couple accidents in her bed. I was especially appreciative of Ana’s flexibility and attention to detail when Hannah’s needs changed shortly before my trip after we had booked. Ana was very communicative as well and sent us plenty of updates and pics during her check-ins. I would recommend Ana to anyone looking for a reliable pet sitter who can manage complex cats like my own. A million thank you’s to Ana and I will definitely book with her again!”

About: My experience with dogs ranges from senior dogs, to big, rambunctious puppies and everything in between! I've never had my own cat but have many years of experience caring for others' felines. I will make sure to communicate any concerns (injuries, unusual behavior, incidents) as they come up.
“Michael is amazing! He goes above and beyond and made me feel comfortable leaving my dog with him dropping in a few times a day. I have never left my dog with someone I didn’t know. He sent pictures during all of his visits and even bought my big guy a new toy which has become his favorite! Michael also took my recycling bins out just to be kind. Truly above and beyond. Thank you for giving my family peace of mind knowing our dog was safe and cared for so we could enjoy vacation!”

“Angelica did a great job visiting our two cats. She sent lots of pics, and I can see they got lots of love and attention. She also did a great job keeping things clean and brought in our mail without being asked. I really appreciate that! I definitely recommend her.”

Cat parents share their Rover experiences - Yeadon
I was so pleased with how well Ashley took care of my cat, Marble, while I was away on vacation. She visited Marble an hour per day, taking care of his feeding, litter box and giving him social time in a tender-loving care fashion. Marble is shy, yet he warmed faster to Ashley than is usual with a new person. Ashley found the right balance between engaging with Marble to provide him companionship and exercise without pushing him harder than Marble is comfortable with. She provided me with informative reports and fun photos daily. If you would like a cat companion that is flexible enough to cater to your cat's specific needs, Ashley is the one. I highly recommend her.
My cat hid for the majority of the visit, but Emma put a ton of effort into trying to find her and bring her out of hiding, just to ensure that she didnt get out during the heatwave somehow. I definitely appreciated the effort she put in, and also the pictures when my cat finally showed up. :)

Jacqueline 🐕🦺🐾 was great. While I was away, she took time out of her schedule to check on both my cat and dog. They both enjoyed our company very much. She was kind, timely, and responsive to all of my messages. I look forward to working with her again in the near future.

Jae was absolutely amazing! Carol warmed up to her immediately, and I could tell she really enjoyed spending time with Jae, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. Jae was responsive, thoughtful, and kept me updated with great photos and messages throughout every visit. She spent quality time playing with Carol and made sure everything was taken care of. I felt completely at ease knowing Carol was in such caring and trustworthy hands. I would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for an exceptional cat sitter!

Ceili is always great taking care of my 3 cats. She follows my detailed instructions to a T, and cleans up any occasional disasters (hairballs, knocked over flower pots, etc) so everything is just as I left it when I return! And I get photos of all the cats at each visit. A++++
My husband had always make the arrangements with Ryder so I was a little apprehensive taking care of it myself. But couldn’t have been easier. Melissa was great. All of her reports were fun to read. Thanks Melissa and Rover. Little Girl was well taken care of while I was away.
Patricia took wonderful care of our three cats, Siggi, Phyllis, and Butchie, while we were away. She was reliable, caring, and communicative, and her updates gave us great peace of mind throughout our trip. It was clear how much love and attention she gave our cats, and knowing they were in such kind and capable hands allowed us to fully enjoy our time away. We returned home to happy, well-cared-for pets and could not be more grateful. We highly recommend Patricia and would gladly trust her with our cats again. Thank you, Patricia, for your exceptional care and kindness!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Yeadon. On Rover:

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
