About: I bring a teacher’s touch to caring for your pup! As a former elementary school teacher, I’ve got loads of experience in behavior management, patience, and creative problem-solving. Whether it’s helping a shy pet feel safe or channeling a high-energy pup’s zoomies into a fun game, I know how to keep things running smoothly (and joyfully!). I’m also a bit of a pet-training enthusiast. I’ve even taught my cats to use pet doors and hang out with me unleashed while I garden—basically, I’ve turned them into honorary dogs! They’re super social and cuddly because I believe every animal deserves love, enrichment, and positive interactions. I absolutely LOVE dogs, but we're currently at our max pet capacity. So, I pour my animal affection into my kitties and helping others by volunteering at the DuPage animal shelter, where I get to meet all kinds of amazing furry friends. I've also recently taken on raising and releasing monarchs in an effort to restore the dwindling population. Our garden is a designated Monarch Way Station. I've tagged and released hundreds of monarch butterflies over the last 3 summers. In short, I combine my teaching skills, training know-how, and pure love for animals to give pets—and their people—a fun, safe, and worry-free experience! I am an adjunct instructor. My classes don't reume until September 22nd, so right now, I am available every day. After that, I only will only teach two classes, so I'll have quite a flexible schedule to sit for animals with availability every afternoon and 3 full days a week. I am highly skilled at reading animal body language. The most important thing in keeping animals safe and calm is to determine how they're feeling in order to provide what they need--whether it's space, food, play or something more serious like medical attention. I make sure every animal has a corner of his/her own to take time needed privacy or R&R. I make sure animals in my care have plenty of opportunities to play, are stimulated, cuddled (if that's what they like), fed a healthy diet and feel like a part of the family.

About: I have lived with dogs my whole life and have a love for every breed. Growing up, my family had a Border Collie, two Lab/Cattle Dog mixes, and a Beagle/Jack Russell mix, all whom I miss dearly. In my profile photo is my dog Tilly, a German Shepherd and my best friend. She’s high-energy, cuddly, and LOVES to eat cheese. I have also fostered dogs and puppies, and have cat-sat for my neighbors since I was a kid. I’ve experienced the heart-wrenching loss of the passing of my family dogs over the years, but I’ve also enjoyed the joys of getting a puppy. Thus, I know how to train puppies, help break them of bad habits such as (e.g., chewing on furniture, potty training), and I’ve learned tricks for medicating stubborn senior dogs who won’t take their pills. As for myself, I am a second-year Clinical Psychology doctoral student seeking some financial stability. I would love the opportunity to walk and care for your pet, whom I know I will love. As a doctoral student, I have some time between my classes, or before and after classes. My evenings are usually open the most. My weekends are tend to be open and can be flexible, with an exception of a few various dates (e.g., weddings, vacations, etc). At this time, I am not available to have pets stay at my home. However, for regular clients and dogs with whom I am familiar (and vice versa), I am open to the possibility. I assure you that I will prioritize the safety of your pets and property while caring for them. I am an open communicator, honest, and respectful, and my primary goal is to enjoy quality time with your pet.

“Vivian has been our dog walker for the past couple months and has been getting along well with our dog Maxx. She communicates well and responds promptly. Maxx seems to really enjoy his walks with her by the cute pictures we get from the walk. My dog Maxx can easily be scared and doesn't always like to stay out long, but Maxx seems very comfortable with Vivian since he walks around a lot and stays out long. You can tell she works well with dogs especially with her experience taking care of her own dogs. I love the rover cards we get and will definitely use Vivian again in the future. Additionally, I can read cat behaviors well as I identified a disease in my own cat - FIP. I cured my cat by daily injecting it with medication subcutaneously. I am grateful everyday he is healthy, happy, and alive. I would be comfortable administering medication to your furbaby, as I know how stressful it can be leaving them alone. I would love to get to know and love your kitties! Additionally, last but not least, I am a fish lover! I am a freshwater aquarium keeper and have experience maintaining 40+gallon tanks with live plants. I would be happy to take care of, feed, and even clean your fish tanks. I currently work remotely Monday-Friday from 9-5PM. I am available before or after, on weekends, or even throughout the days on my lunch breaks. I am flexible throughout the day. I treat my clients home’s as I would want someone to treat mine. I also understand that their pet is an equal homeowner and may take some time to adjust to me! I respect pets boundaries and can read their behaviors well so that they are the most comfortable and happy.

About: I've taken care of dogs big and small since the age of 6. I grew up on a farm so always had the pleasure of being around animals. Right now, my wife and I have three adult cats, 2 boys and 1 girl. I also walk dogs in my neighborhood for neighbors and friends. I currently work remotely from home, so my cats are always asking for attention. Because I have the ability to take breaks throughout the day, I'd be glad to walk your dog or feed your cat. I take care of the cats at home by providing them with plenty of attention, areas to play and feeding and grooming them regularly. Dogs need space and dogs need attention. About: I grew up with an Australian shepherd and have dog sat for many families over the last 5-10 years. As a teacher, I bring enthusiasm, patience and dedication to everything I do. I work full time as a teacher during the school year, but weekdays in June, July and August are open. I am available mornings and afternoons.
